Here's the only painting that is fully finished and thought through for the whole month 😅. I really wanted to push myself there, and I'm still considering things I could have done differently, but ! I'm happy with it. Considering my life these days, you understand why I decided to go back to sketches only 🥲

hold on op…. continue cooking. and this is how things come full circle: they’ll both follow each other until the very end. riza had no intentions of living once roy died, and I struggle to imagine a world where lan fan doesn’t follow ling if he strays. and if we consider ling to be the personification of duty, responsibility and affection for lan fan—and her protecting him specifically being part of lan fan’s identity—I struggle to think a world where she doesn’t follow him. two different backstories, two different traumas, two different motivations for loyalty, two different age gaps yet the endgame remains: love.

Although Lingfan and Royai are definitely parallels to each other with their themes of loyalty, there is one big difference between the two: Lan Fan could never kill Ling if he were to stray from the right path. Hence, the dynamic is fundamentally different to that of Royai. In this essay, I will—

FMAbruary Day 1: Crossover

Fullmetal Alchemist x Pact Web Serial

Yeah i know this is an obscure one. Unfortunately i like this idea

Umm so i guess this is in the Pact setting so the FMA characters are Canadian now.

Blake's role is filled by Edward and Rose's role is filled by Alphonse. Alchemy is replaced with Pact's magic system, so most alchemists are now in the role of practitioners.

Ed and Al's early childhood is largely the same. Hohenheim (who is now an Other, still very old, and formerly a practitioner) leaves; Trisha (an innocent/unawakened) dies of illness; Ed and Al resolve to resurrect her by any means necessary and perform the Awakening ritual; they train with Izumi; eventually, they attempt a resurrection ceremony, calling upon Truth (a god); Truth takes Ed's leg and Al's body; Ed gives up his arm to put Al's soul in the mirror realm; Ed becomes Truth's Chosen, which he is very mad about. The driving force at the beginning of the story is still to get Al's body back. Ed gets automail, but it eventually starts slowly and painfully claiming more and more of his body like Blake's branches. So Al is an Other and Ed is also becoming an Other.

Mustang is a practitioner (and his implement is an old-fashioned lighter). Hawkeye is a witch hunter, as is Scar. The Xingese crew are practitioners except for Ling. The homunculi are Incarnations and Wrath is Lord of Toronto (taking Conquest's role). Father is an Other trying very hard to become a god (and philosopher's stones are still a thing).
