heyy its pokemon day right so now's the best time to post some year old art of my pokemon ocs in their various outfits, right?

They're from a pokemon au I've not really talked about here -- with the core idea of being another sequel to the Gen 1/2 eras, seeing the changes the region would have seen by the time of, say, Gen 5. Gyms and Elite 4 members have shuffled, towns and cities have grown -- and that dude from Vermillion City finally finished building that tower with his Machoke.

Character details under the cut -v-

Leah - My main pokeoc and ancient blorbo. Loud, abrasive and confident, Leah wants to be the absolute strongest trainer. Born and raised on the Sevii Islands, Leah's life was changed when, as a young child, her town was raided by a gang of bikers. When they were poised to ruin the small town-- a young trainer in a red hat came in and beat them all, saving the day.

Ever since then, Leah swore she would be the kind of strong trainer who would go around saving people and beating up bullies. As such, she jumped at the opportunity when Professor Oak opened up his most recent round of Kanto Pokemon Survey Work. With Pokedex in hand and her beloved Bulbasaur, Sprout, in her heart, Leah set out and...immediately dove into the League Challenge, giving the barest minimum to the pokedex survey work. Leah is a direct person, toeing the line of tactless, and that translates to her training style. Brutal attacks, leaning into type advantages, and little thought given to strategy. After all, the only stat she wants to impact is HP-- and change it to zero.

Still, she is remarkably in sync with her pokemon, who she loves above all else. Her team are as good as family, and its this care that may credit her battle success despite a disdain for strategy.

She can be kind of a jerk, but all she wants to do is be a hero.

Sean - Leah's rival, and the "player character" to her "loud, annoying rival."

A Saffron City native, Sean has long admired former Gym Leader and current League Champion Sabrina. He wants to follow in her footsteps, gaining power and becoming a top trainer -- before facing his hero in the battle.

Sean is a quiet, serious boy, and is the opposite of Leah in nearly every way-- careful with his training, mindful of his team composition, and at least trying to pay attention to his Pokedex. He finds her annoying, and she finds him condescending. They're both kind of right; Sean can be quietly judgy and a bit of a snob.

Still, he cares deeply for his Pokemon, and despite his frequently shifting team composition, he tends to drift to the same handful as close companions.

He also cares deeply for his boyfriend, who is staying back home and training to be a daycare center operator. The new long distance element to their relationship has been an Adjustment, but its one they work through with lots of phone calls and gifts sent via teleporting Abra.

Alana - Alana is here too!

While Leah and Sean have their intense rivalry, and travel across Kanto and Johto earning badges, making friends and fending off a mysterious villain team -- Alana is the only one of them who's actually doing the job she signed up for.

Alana selected the third of the starters Professor Oak was offering and almost immediately got to work. She's no trainer, and has no badges to her name. She's the embodiment of spinoffs-- she's pokemon snap, she's the safari zone, she's just here to catch and catalogue 'em all.

She's a sweet girl who isn't afraid to get dirty, and in addition to using the pokedex, she has a journal on hand at all times to jot down her own research notes and sketches, delighting in the natural world around her.

She probably spent enough time in Viridian Forest for Leah and Sean both to get their third badges.

Nobody asked but it's time to put some stuff in WRITING on the INTERNET! So here's my little group of blorbos I made up for Transformers Prime:

Rowan: Human, she/they, late 20s. An avid climber, mountain biker, and overall adrenaline junkie. Usually found in a flannel worn on top of athletic wear or otherwise practical clothes. Grew up in the Pacific Northwest and had the (mis?)fortune of running into a certain stuntplane who I'll mention in just a bit. Rowan's rather headstrong and independent, often refusing help even when it's pretty obviously needed. They end up bonding with said cybertronian after some shared experiences and shenanigans ensue from there. Aerostar: Cybertronian, she/her, stuntplane alt mode, "seeker". The aforementioned transformer that Rowan meets, though I have yet to work out the details just yet. Aerostar is pretty damn young when they hit Earth, enough that while she was initially a kinda fucked-up version of a seeker mold she was sent out anyway and kind of ends up as a freelancer rather than a strict decepticon. After some bonding experiences with Rowan, the pair run afoul of both Team Prime and the 'cons, as well as a new recruit Autobot that just seems to hit every negative button Aerostar possesses, with their interactions ranging from slightly abrasive to outright brawls whenever they meet.

Clay: Human, he/him, mid-20s. A mechanic and part-time rally car driver, though he's never really progressed beyond local races near his hometown in the Midwest. A naturally rather wide boi, he's oddly skinny for someone with a barrel chest. Has the kind of smile that lights up a room like a warm fireplace, though it never seems to reach his eyes. He meets his Cybertronian partner when the latter is in rather bad shape, and does his best to help repair the poor wounded guy. Uproots his whole life to move to Nevada upon being contacted/learning of Team Prime, wanting to do everything he can to help and also not really having a choice after scouts spot him helping his new robotic alien buddy. Rollcage: Cybertronian, he/they, rally car alt. Clay's partner and a bot with middling experience in combat and life. Old enough to not be considered a kid, but young enough that he's nowhere near "vet" status. Rollcage loves Earth, taking to the organic planet like a duck to water. He and Clay have been together much longer than the other pair, and made a point of helping people however they could before ending up on a road trip to Jasper. Our boy is far from just a softie though, and with his outlier ability of a temporary time-slowing bubble (thx for the idea French Hot Rod) he can put up a solid threat. They're the rival to Aerostar I mentioned earlier, the two getting along like oil and water, though we'll see how it develops as I work on these ocs more.

I’m kinda workshopping this premise of a magical girl academy and the first season is the groups antics before they graduate and put on separate teams with some veterans.

The main character is Elena!

Elena has the special ability to talk to the generic monsters in this series (which I’m calling ‘shadow creatures as a placeholder name) and she has a little pet blob named Meep!

She was sorta pushed into becoming a magical girl by her parents, but found her own passion in hoping to meet and make peace with shadow creatures on the job! She also originally starts off with a boring store bought transformation, but her school rival/Gal Pal Courtney helps her make her own! Speaking of Courtney…

Courtney comes to magical girl school to earn money and provide for her family. Think Uraraka MHA. She befriends Elena because of her interest in Meep, and begins to bond and have friendly competition with her. Unfortunately, shortly after graduation she’s dragged into the villains organization and now has to fight with Elena!

Shiro is Courtney’s childhood friend, and another member of the friend group! She’s got a ton of passion, and is willing to follow her best friend to the ends of the earth, but conflict arises when during school and post graduation, she notices the two of them drifting apart culminating in… well, you know.

Elmira is another school friend of the trio! She has the very good motivation for magical forking that is ‘prove my parents wrong’ which like. Good for her, but it leads to her growing resentment of Elena as she watches her surpass her and leads to her joining the same base as her upon graduation. Oh and shes a clone, nbd.

Now for some veterans! These are Malerie and Mary, the group Elena and Elmira are assigned to after they graduate! Malerie is an autistic queen, and Mary is her chill punk girlfriend, and a pretty cool mentor.

Annnnnd here’s the team Shiro and Courtney get assigned to! To be honest these guys were repurposed a bit from some old ocs, so meet Alice, Marina, Jay and Emma. Three magical girls, and Jay, a magical boy who discovered his identity while in school! Marina can be a little strict, but she mostly just wants everyone to be their best, and Alice is her rebel biker gf! And Emma decided to become a magical girl because she thought shows about them were cool. Also they’re childhood friends!

Ms Lotus is the main fours teacher! She has a low tolerance for nonsense, but she’s extremely caring! Little do the characters know she’s working for the villains with a deal ongoing for them not to hurt her students!

Appearance & personality

Moxxie is an imp demon with red skin and white freckles on his cheeks. His white pointy hair leads up to his curvy black and white striped horns.

He also has yellow sclera with black slit pupils. Moxxie has a long red thin tail with a quadrilateral barb at the end, as well as lanky digitigrade legs ending in what appears to be cloven red hooves, reminiscent of artiodactyls.

Moxxie's usual outfit consists of a navy-black coat with red buttons and white cuffs, black pants a white shirt that has a black turtleneck, a large red bow-tie, and fingerless gloves.

During the episode "Loo Loo Land", he wears a plain black suit and tie with no markings and sunglasses while guarding Stolas, just like Blitzo and Millie, but still wears his normal red bow-tie with it.

Owl you are so silly for this but also so right... (Elaborating some rough ideas under the cut so that I (<- guy with bad object permanence) will look back and remember wtf my plan was here.)

So the Temmies could go a couple ways here. Like, my first thought was following that biker gang idea, because a group of Temmies led by that Underswap Tem would be SO funny. Though, Abyss would see them roll onto his terf and tell his boys to obliterate them, which wouldn't end super well haha!

Another, following that God concept, brings me back to Dopple!Temmies and their silly cult, which I adore!! But in all honesty I already have a god-complex guy in place elsewhere. Of course, that doesn't mean that there wouldn't be a little temple in the slums of a city where a singular Temmie has become a God lmao---

I think what I wanna go with is a bit more friendly! (Blue does *not* meet enough folks who are allies from the start) There's a location called The Silver Isle (and their rival the Bronze isle) which both float in the air and operate completely based on aesthetics. The Silver Isle is completely covered in what we would consider 'Futuristic' so all white and smooth and Tron-Like. Having said that, it's also still pretty run down in the aftermath of the war. It's a haven of techies abd inventors abd programmers and engineers who were shunned in the aftermath and found haven in a place like this.

Why is that relevant? Why, obviously, Tem went to colleg! UT Tem would be a monster who was great at engineering! Not great with codes or repairs, but she was speedy with designs and execution of them! (Now I'm thinking she was probably recruited the same way Sci and Geno were). But Tem Armor? Yeag. What- what if all the bodily modifications on the ectos were mostly her design? That's why they were so strong???

Anyways, she would escape the government eventually. My thought here is that she lived in the Silver Isle for years and years before the war, and was really well known for her Tem-Bots! Little assistants for your desk, to be your maide or helper, etc! They're based completely on her and she made hundreds. A lot were destroyed in the war, but those that survived recalled to their place of origin.

When the EMP went out, they all lost power, but as it slowly started returning the Temmies were all coming back online. Now I'm picturing that they're all over the Silver Isle and they help out inventors, interrogate travelers, etc, which leaves Temmie at a position of authority!

And of course this would lead her to be inclined to help and be friendly with Blue when he arrives, and call upon him for help with repairs/restoring programs for her Tems when needed. It gains him a powerful ally in the Silver Isle, and that place offers him sanctuary whenever he needs it.

Along with that, if Temmie was taken in by tye government, there's zero doubt that she'd recognize Geno's work when she heard reports that were sent to Blue's workshop late-story, and she's yet another concerned voice telling Blue that Geno's no good. Not to trust him. To be careful.

And idk the idea of the Temmies being lil Ectos that all listen to their og creator? It explains why there are so many and why they all look the same. 'Temmie' was almost a brand name so ppl would've kept the default names of their own Tem-Bots, and the few who got their settings altered (ex. Bob) make sense too! Main Temmie is the Tem who went to school and got really good at engineering! What she lacks in speech she makes up for in skill!

And bonus: Ozzy!

Oc feature moment! Owl, we could definitely workshop this frfr but my initial thoughts are a -> Knows/Relationship with Pretender (carries over from previous headcanons we'd have) or -> Techie/Semi/General Survivor/etc. (Basically limitless! Two pals ocs are a Techie abd a Semi respectively, and there's 0retty much no limit to who Ozzy could be. Badass rogue in the desert? Sure! Best Techie this side of the river? Yeah! Maybe sone dancetale origin story flavor about audio enhancement tech? Is he an heir to the family fortune? A killer? Anything!)

The version where he knows Pretender is as simple as, hos parents would've moved underground during the war, finding the subway the safest location. They probably would've had Ozzy and hos Siblings down there (timeline-wise), but it's not like they'd *never* go up and out. Ozzy in this scenario could very well be one of Tender's most trusted merchants, going out to forming civilizations to offer trade and rations and things they need for only a little cost. Or he'd stay and help Tender in other ways, maybe he was a mechanic and helps Tender modify hinsrlf with new Ecto parts every once in a while. Idk, there's potential here lmao- Maybe instead of being born there, Ozzy shows up later, post war, after a disagreement or the loss of his family (or his 0arents and he's protecting his siblings Yada yada) and he's pretty well-traveled and ready to find someplace new and safe or snth.

And ik the lore is kinda hazy because I'm insane but if there are other options that interest you besides the ones I elaborated on Please Do bring them up! Ec-4o is my favorite universe to bring ocs into because there are some general basics, but beyond that it's pretty much up to you to decide what roll an oc plays! Hero of their own story kinda thing!

Guys I think I wanna toss a,*bit* more variety into my multiverse project (ec-4o.verse). Does anyone have good suggestions for non-sans (or paps) au characters I should include?
