Personal headcanon that he was in a Catholic School growin up. He hated it. Both schools he grew up in, he was constantly teased fer his bigger size.

He later moved out from New York n down south after his Daddy left (when he was 12,) where he moved in wit his Nonna. He was enrolled in another another Catholic School, per her persuasion, n he hated it there even more.

He was bullied and harassed there, even worse than his first school, but after he beat th' shit out of another kid, he was feared.

He gained the nickname Goliath cus of it.

I had 'I Found A Hobby' on loop fer' over an hour—maybe even two—so I jus had t' whip this up fer shits n giggles.

I like t' think that Orin hung around wit some of th' older kids (14-15 year olds) n they brought him t' see the movie.

Originally, I wanted t' draw him holdin a BB Gun, but I had no room on m' paper. So have him bein a pouty lil shit instead!!

His Momma took it away after she caught him shootin at th' neighbors new puppies. (He's about 7-8 in this.)

Anyway. This drawin sucks, n I'm sorry bout that, but I was gettin annoyed wit drawin this fucker n his stupid face. (I say as if it isn't me.)

Meow Meow was th' neighborhood stray n ev'ryone loved her! Includin Orin. But after havin his favorite toy taken away, he heard her scavengin fer food in the trash outside his house n he was pissed.

So naturally, bashin in her head wit a hammer was the only solution.

His Momma caught him, n he immediately started bawlin his eyes out cus of his Momma's face. Not that he got caught, oh no, only that his Momma looked upset, disgusted at him almost.

She helped bury th' body in th' backyard—but that was a key memory for Orin.

In a universe where piracy is coming to its natural end, where the theme that the leads' lives revolves around is looking like a past they'll think fondly of, someone like Izzy hands - who is the motif of that theme, THE pirate incarnate - he doesn't fit. He's done his job, he kept piracy alive for his entire life, he kept the man he loves alive as best as he could, he came full circle to realising that there was joy and beauty to be found. But he doesn't want to fish, he fucking hates fishing, an inn sounds even worse. He is piracy, it's all of him. He was done. Izzy Hands' death is a call to everyone that the days of piracy are over, that they should remember him as someone who kept it going, who did his best with the resources he had, who died a pirate's death exactly as he wanted.

lennier “from birth, I was raised in the temple and studied the ways of the religious caste, six months ago I came here” is pretty funny when you think about it.

not only is this his first job, it’s his first time living outside a monastery. imagine spending twenty years or so never meeting anyone who isn’t also in a minbari monastery, and then one of the nine-most important people on your planet plucks you out of divinity school sight unseen to come work for her. so they put you on a space transport and now you live at the United Nations International Airport (*soon to be the Independent Galactic War Outpost International Airport) with the most cosmically relevant people alive. and all This is happening.

maybe that’s to his benefit actually!! everyone else has to have their moment of reckoning when they realize “we are living in unprecedented times and, regrettably, it seems i am a named character in biblical-level events 😐” while lennier, fresh from minbari religious mythology and history class (one subject), is like oh yes they warned us about the biblical events! how fascinating to experience them in person.

his direct supervisor is the second coming. it turns out that he personally knows Jesus George Washington from a thousand years ago who he’s been praying to this whole time. then he’s right there in the front row when the First Ones get kicked sternly shamed out of the galaxy and there’s a civil war on his planet because society broke down and it’s still his first job!

honestly we’re too hard on him for being a dramatic disaster in season five when 73% of his life experience outside the temple has been directly related to the End of Days (the rest is administrative errands and that time londo took him to a bar). every person he knows is unhinged. he has never seen normal life even from a distance. it’s a lot to expect him to handle an ordinary thing like “falling in love with your milf boss who’s the first lady of the known universe and is also like if the pope had a massive well-trained space army personally pledged to die for her” with anything less than shakespearean levels of drama.

something about ryan bergara constantly popping up on my phone screen asking for ghost files evidence makes me chuckle a little bit. he's just a little guy going door to door asking for donations but the way he does it is strangely endearing and actually makes me wish he comes back to ask for my money again even though i don't have anything to donate.

I am very saddened to announce that Cala, the cat from the "I go meow" meme, has recently passed away. Her owner explained the cat was far older than everyone thought and died of old age.
