Boutis Quilting

In February we met to learn the lovely technique of boutis quilting. An intricate design is stiched in running or back stitch leaving channels that are later filled with thick cotton cord.  Traditionally done in pure white I rather like to add subtle colour.  i may make a ring cushion from this, what do you think?

En février nous nous sommes rencontrées apprendre la belle technique du boutis.  Un motif parfois complexe est cousu main en point d’avant ou point arrière en laissant des espaces qui sont plus tard remplis avec un fil épais en coton.  Traditionnellement fait tout en blanc j’aime quelquefois ajouter de la couleur subtile.  Je vais peut-être faire un petit coussin pour la présentation des alliances.  Qu’en pensez vous?
