Had Anakin lived and he and Tahiri become the combined figureheads of the Shamed One heresy (or Freed Ones, as they come to call themselves), Tahiri would’ve definitely given Anakin lessons in the Yuuzhan Vong language, maybe with the help of Nen Yim (who defects earlier and lives in this AU). I can also see the inventor/scientist part of Anakin greatly enjoying the Shaper side of Tahiri’s Riina personality, especially when the two merge, since her combined personality now has the personality he’s come to love so much, but also the newfound ‘nerdy’ hobbies that the old Tahiri struggled to connect to him with.

If Anakin Solo and Nen Yim had both lived, how do you see their relationship playing out post-NJO? On the one hand, I’m not sure if Anakin would ever fully trust or forgive Nen Yim, but on the other, his partner has come to do both things, so he might try to get along with her for Tahiri’s sake.

This is an interesting thought—I can see Anakin blaming her for what she’s done to Tahiri, even when she acted out of apathy—it’s still an act of cruelty that resulted in Tahiri’s pain. While Tahiri kept reminding him of how the two of them had already come to their reconciliation, Anakin couldn’t help but see a guilt-ridden former enemy with all her attempts to adapt to this world that refused to see beyond her crimes. It did remind him of something—someone, to be precise…

Is this what could’ve been like if my grandfather ever survived his betrayal against the Emperor?

Maybe he could learn to accept her, at least for the sake of the redemption he saw in her, like how he had accepted Anakin Skywalker as his mentor (if I’m reading into one of your previous posts concerning this AU correctly). Even though, sometimes in the back of his mind he could still feel the call for justice—after all, would it not be a crime in itself if you simply ignore someone’s crimes just because of what they’ve newly become? But for what crime Nen Yim would be to blame, other than carrying out her orders and being a part of Tahiri’s shaping? But when Anakin wanted to blame her for shaping Tahiri into the person she now was—one-third-Tusken, one-third-human, one-third-Yuuzhan Vong—but could he actually place the blame? It would’ve felt like he was dismissing Tahiri’s Yuuzhan Vong personality, someone that was now part of her, even though it was part of Nen Yim’s memory she was possessing—and what difference would it make? From a certain point of view, it was only through the shaping that she got to be the Tahiri he now knew, the Tahiri he now loved. And it just felt so wrong, so wrong, to him, if he ever ended up blaming Nen Yim for this reason.

So he might learn to accept Nen Yim as a companion—maybe as a friend, too, if he was willing. Maybe Nen Yim would end up staying in Zonama Sekot, carrying out this newfound enthusiasm of studying this planet.

1. Why did you choose your url?

I wanted to make a Star Wars blog and I also wanted to show that I was a big fan of the old pre-mouse EU. So I took my favorite EU character, Tahiri Veila, and played around with her experiences to make my url. During the New Jedi Order book series, Tahiri was experimented on by Yuuzhan Vong and an artificial personality, Riina of Domain Kwaad, was created in her mind. I simply replaced the name Riina with my own internet handle Raven and got Raven of Domain Kwaad.

2. Any sideblogs?

This is technically a sideblog actually.

Main is @the-raven-of-highever which is mainly Dragon Age stuff

I also have @ssv-raven which is a mess of Mass Effect, sci-fi, fantasy and other assorted nonsense

3. How long have you been on tumblr?

I think it was 2014 when I first got onto tumblr

4. Why did you originally start your blog?

Originally I made my main for the Assassin’s Creed fandom. Oh boy was I obsessed with AC. Fell hard in love with the Kenway family and Ratonhnhaké:ton / Connor in particular. I was sad when the tumblr fandom just sort of fizzled away and died after being such a fun and big group that I really liked.

5. Why did you choose your icon?

@palepinkycat gave me that incredible piece of my OC Amarra Kine for my birthday and I was immediately head over heels in love with how it looked. I just had to make it my icon so I could always admire it.

6. Why did you choose your header?

That was another @palepinkycat piece actually and my very first commission. It is of my OC sisters Ryscha and Amarra Kine. They are the main focus of my SWTOR canon so I figured it was appropriate to put them up there as my header.

7. What is your post with the most notes?

This one which I made as a joke after the Echoes of Oblivion trailer came out. Just a silly bit about how Knights and Warriors must be very sick of the Emperor by that point.

8. How many mutuals do you have?

Not a clue. I know I have a number of SWTOR mutuals though

9. How many followers do you have?

115... now excuse me as I go and listen to the song of the same name from CoD Black Ops Zombies lol

10. How many blogs do you follow?

200 but a lot of those haven’t posted in years. Lots of old Assassin’s Creed, Overwatch and trans fem blogs that got lost or just stopped posting after the various fandoms died and the porn ban cracked down on people.

11. Have you ever made a shitpost?

Lol this is tumblr buddy. Of course I have

12. How many times do you use tumblr a day?

Uh... lots. Though in my defense it is my only form of social media. Never had a facebook, twitter or anything else and it is probably going to stay that way.

13. Have you ever fought another blog?

Nope. Is that a thing people do? It sounds exhausting.

14. How do you feel about “need to reblog” posts?

You know how after watching commercials you are filled with the desire to actively avoid the product being advertised? Yeah that is generally what happens to me with those “need to reblog” things. Like buddy I have come to tumblr to unplug from all the atrocities that are happening in the world. You telling me I need to focus on this makes me want to actively ignore it.

15. Do you like tag games?

I do! They are fun and I enjoy reading the answers that other people give.

16. Do you like ask games?

Definitely. I don’t always answer the asks in a timely manner but I do love writing about my OCs

17. Which of your mutuals do you think are tumblr famous?

Not a clue. Got some mutuals that seem to be well established and appreciated members of the SWTOR fandom but no one appears to be tumblr famous.

18. Do you have a crush on a mutual?

Funny story. My partner and I actually met because we were tumblr mutuals. We were both in the Mass Effect fandom and just started DMing each other about our OCs. Started playing Mass Effect 3 online matches together and eventually decided to try out a long distant relationship. It worked and we’ve been living together for five ish years now.

Don’t currently have any crushes on any mutuals but my partner and I are poly so who knows what may happen in the future lol

First impression - I guess that would be Revan from those dream memories, so - a cool, powerful Sith that was taken out only because of Sith treachery.

Impression now - The Best.

Favorite moment - The Revelation on the Leviathan.

Idea for a story - Revan’s corruption - the full story.

Unpopular opinion - I liked the Revan novel despite everything.

Favorite relationship - I’m a sucker for Revanasi. Also, Revan and HK-47.

Favorite headcanon - Revan burns toast.

Darth Zannah

First impression - something’s wrong with this child.

Impression now - badass, vicious Sith witch lady.

Favorite moment - the final fight with Bane.

Idea for a story - Jedi Zannah AU.

Unpopular opinion - I always wanted more character study to understand her psychology and choices better, especially when she was a child, because it just wasn’t done deep enough to my satisfaction.

Favorite relationship - Bane :)

Favorite headcanon - she had more doubts than the books imply and she thought about leaving many times.

Tahiri Veila

First impression - cute, plucky, talkative.

Impression now - I want to wrap her in a blanket and make everything better. She suffered too much.

Favorite moment - Tahiri winning the struggle against brainwashing and Riina Kwaad.

Idea for a story - so, was she apprenticed to Tionne or not? How did it go?

Unpopular opinion - As I made it already known, Denning-verse is abomination, and making Tahiri stuck on Anakin so that his loss and her grief became her only defining trait is just the kind of stupid character stagnation it excels at.

Favorite relationship - Anakin of course :)

Favorite headcanon - Tahiri visits Tatooine regularly.

I would agree, but also now they’re looking at canon extragalactic threats, so they might have a canon version of the YV show up eventually?

I also just really liked Riina Kwaad as an arc though, so I might be biased?? Because it is so weird that the shaping managed to get through in a young adult book but also the amount of confusion/mental gymnastics that happened because of it was really cool.

And also they’d want the possibility of it, because that whole thing made her super cool (ex. the swimming in pain quote) though they would also get a lot of backlash if they go through with it (imagine small teenaged girl being tortured in a way that makes the Theon stuff from GOT look friendly).

The girl adopted by Tuskens in Legends is Tahiri Veila. She first appeared in the Junior Jedi Knights book series and then sporadically throughout the other Legends' novels in New Jedi Order series, Dark Nest Trilogy, Legacy of the Force series and Fate of the Jedi series. She is described as a green-eyed blonde with light skin and portrayed as such in official art.

how long has your character been here?

if you asked her, she’d tell you she’s a native – born and raised in washington, dc. she’s never known any other home. in reality, tahiri’s only been here for three months.

what is your character's job?

unemployed! currently a college student at georgetown.

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom?

just before the end of the yuuzhan vong war.

has any magic affected your character?

other than the fact that she has zero recollection of everything that’s ever happened to her? nope!

whew chile does this girl have a complicated life

tahiri was born on tatooine, to a pair of force sensitive parents (both very strong in the force, though neither had any proper training). when she was about three, however, her parents were mistakenly killed by a tribe of sand people – out of pity, one of them adopted the child and raised her as one of them. tahiri lived with them until she turned nine, at which point she was discovered to be force sensitive by luke skywalker and tionne solusar during one of their trips to tatooine.

and so – little tahiri was off to jedi training! things were finally beginning to pick up for her – she found a couple of close friends, improved her force abilities, battled a krayt dragon (as one does) and forewent shoes for a while.

but everything changed when the yuuzhan vong attacked

she was around fourteen when she was captured by the yuuzhan vong, who planned on “shaping” her – essentially creating a whole other personality (known as riina kwaad) who would be fluent in their language and want to fight alongside them. she managed to escape just before her shaping was completed – though she got away with many valuable skills and knowledge about the enemy’s system, she was also struggling with controlling her riina personality.

the next couple of years are pretty bad for her ngl – she loses her closest friend and nearly goes through a mental breakdown – but she also becomes a jedi knight which i guess is pretty cool

and now she’s here! with no clue about any of this!

she has seen flashes of it, though. she’s dreamt about people she’s never met before and places she’s never seen (she finds most of them unrealistic though; i mean – space? really?), and there’s been times when she’s felt like there’s something missing – but she doesn’t really think much of it

once had three cups of coffee in one sitting and managed to make a pen levitate - but she thought it was a hallucination caused by a caffeine overdose

still strong in the force – could definitely be detected – but since she has no idea she’s force sensitive, her abilities (for now) are practically nonexistent

a stubborn, opinionated mess – can be very temperamental at times (which stems from the two personalities in her head). often makes some very impulsive actions/decisions just to satisfy her curiosity, without thinking of the consequences. doesn’t take herself – or anything, really – too seriously. can be pretty direct at times (it either comes from a place of love or a place of hate), but at times tends to bottle things up and not mention anything until it's too late.

has a good head on her shoulders, though. she’s much more observant than she appears to be, and often pushes herself to be more smart/rational about things. has a really stupid sense of humour (especially at 3 am) that consists of lots of dumb jokes that don’t make sense; yes, she’s aware of it, and no, she won’t do anything about it. a firm believer that you should treat others the way you want to be treated but will stand her ground when it comes to protecting those she cares about.

Feral desert child Tahiri ate bugs because she couldn't afford to pass up the sustenance.

Riina ate bugs as part of Yuuzhan Vong polite society.

Put them together, and she'll still randomly grab and eat bugs off the ground, but every time she encounters a new species, whoever's around has to hear a brief review of how it tasted.

I feel like, even though the knowledge base of a Yuuzhan Vong shaper means Tahiri's one of the best healers in the Order, she also has a habit of semi-consciously thinking out loud about exactly how gruesome someone's injuries are, and describing what she's doing in a level of detail that her patients pretty much all agree they could have gone to the grave not knowing.

And she doesn't actually do it, but there's always an undercurrent of unhinged curiosity and you can't help but wonder if she's just going to use you for a shaping project instead.
