That's such a shitty way to give out screentime and arcs to characters. Is it not enough to develop the characters on their own and strengthen their friendship???

HUH TIM why you so obsessed with compulsory heterosexuality??(well also homosexuality for Seblos but they are the only ones I'm not annoyed with their relationship cos its a hella big step for Disney to have a gay couple and their relationship isn't in our faces or overshadows the plot and its just spinkles of cuteness every time they interact - they are honestly who Rini wishes they were; besties in love. They are a couple that Tim should be taking notes from; leave the relationship drama in the background, focus on the theatre and friendship aspect of everything)

My mini rant aside; this is a very adorable interaction between Ashlyn and Antoine.

Also like she poured her heart and soul into the song after Miss Jenn lowkey rushed her to write it. So I can see why this feels like a rejection of her and her song and why she's so hurt rather than her seeing the big picture right now

I know everyone loves her as Nini but like I have always loved the name Nina and it really suits her to be honest also shows how she's growing up now and kind of leans into the lyric "I won't be confined to your point of view" from The Rose Song because Nini is the nickname Ricky gave her so it shows that she's outgrowing him too and I love that for her!

Overall thoughts; they really crammed all the North High drama into one ep huh. Personally would have liked it if all of this was spread out throughout the last few episodes; like different hijinks for every episode. I'm just a big fan of properly setting up the overall arc over the season instead of patching it together closer to the climax/end of the show. Cos now it lowkey feels like two different seasons - 2A felt like The Rini/Rina Show esp with YAC storyline and whatever was going on with Rina and now 2B is finally feeling like what this season should have been all this time

planning   this   thing   had   consumed   months   of   nini's   life   —��   and   she   wouldn't   have   traded   that   time   for   the   world.   in   spite   of   the   stressors   imposed   upon   her   by   the   nature   of   the   event,   proposing,   that   in   and   of   itself   being   a   monumental   stepping   stone   in   the   walkway   of   life,   she   had   thoroughly   enjoyed   methodically   arranging   everything   into   place.   there   were   moments   when   ashlyn   and   maddox   had   to   help   her   when   she   grew   too   overwhelmed,   but   even   that   didn't   dissuade   her   from   believing   that   this   was   something   that   she   had   to   do.   because   nini   and   gina?   they   were   meant   to   be.   in   all   honesty,   she'd   known   it   from   the   moment   their   hands   and   eyes   met   in   that   dressing   room   years   ago.   and   everything   that   had   led   up   to   that   fateful   moment,   it'd   all   been   worth   it.   suffering   through   compulsory   heterosexuality   and   dating   ricky   and   then   e.j.,   they   were   necessary   steps   she   needed   to   take   before   she   reached   her   endgame:   gina    porter.   as   each   year   passed,   both   of   them   truly   growing   into   their   own   skin   and   learning   more   about   themselves,   she   was   continually   reminded   of   the   fact   that   the   two   of   them   were   cosmically   bound.   nothing,   regardless   of   scale   or   mass,   could   tear   them   apart.   it's   what   nini   had   always   dreamed   of   ——   with   the   person   she   least   expected   it,   which   had   made   it   all   the   better   in   her   mind.

she   was   as   smitten   as   always   whenever   gina   kept   making   guesses   at   where   they   were   going.   such   a   cutie,   she   couldn't   help   but   think   to   herself,   and   to   think   i'll   get   to   have   her   around   forever.   fingers   crossed.   although   they   were   extraordinarily   close   and   certainly   stable,   there   would   always   be   that   voice   in   the   back   of   nini's   head;   anxious   and   paranoid,   wondering   if   this   was   all   some   kind   of   cruel   prank   being   pulled   on   her.   that   had   mostly   developed   in   thanks   to   her   lacking   self-esteem,   which   she   was   working   on   with   gina   everyday.   hopefully,   this   would   silence   that   voice   even   more. ❝  you   do?   i   was   hoping   it   wasn't   too   cheesy.   ❞   as   if   anything   could   be   deemed   'too   cheesy'   to   them.   ❝  ash   and   maddie   have   helped   me   out   for   the   past   few   days.   i   think   we   did   a   pretty   alright   job,  ❞   she   then   offered   an   arm   to   gina   with   a   cheesy   grin.   ❝  may   i   escort   you   to   your   tabl   —   er,   blanket?   ❞

there  was  no  one  in  the  world  gina  porter  loved  more  than  nini  salazar-roberts.  love  couldn’t  even  begin  to  cover  it.  like  ashlyn  and  maddox  had  said  at  their  wedding,  gina  felt  every  single  feeling  in  the  world  for  nini.   sure,  gina  started  off  as  trying  to  steal  a  lead  role  from  nini,  but  now?  there  was  no  one  else  she’d  rather  be  with,  or  no  one  else  she’d  rather  have  beat  her  for  roles  —  even  if  gina  pretends  to  be  upset  when  it  happens.  it  may  have  taken  them  years,  and  a  few  breakups  along  the  way,  but  gina  felt  like  she  was  floating  on  cloud  nine  every  time  she  so  much  as  looked  at  nini.  their  little  life  was  going  great.  against  her  better  judgment,  gina  had  brought  home  a  dog  that  nini  absolutely  fell  for,  and  the  same  happened  with  gina  and  that  silly  little  cat,  panko.   nini  had  told  her  they  were  just  going  out  to  run  some  errands,  but  when  nini  put  a  blindfold  over  her  face,  gina  was  completely  and  utterly  confused.  she  couldn’t  even  stare  at  the  gps,  which  was  a  habit  she  had  grown  accustomed  to  doing  when  nini  drove.  not  that  nini  was  a  bad  driver  or  anything,  gina  just  wanted  to  feel  safe. 

she  stayed  blindfolded  for  the  duration  of  the  trip,  asking  nini  such  questions  as,   ❝  are  we  there  yet  ?  ❞  and  ❝  are  we  going  to  a  different  market  ?  ❞   but  as  she  felt  the  car  come  to  a  stop,  gina  was  purely,  and  utterly,  excited  to  see  what  lay  ahead.   ❝  now,  can  you  tell  me  why  i’m  blindfold  —  ❞  in  an  instant,  the  blindfold  was  removed  from  her  face,  and  gina  saw  something  straight  out  of  a  romance  movie.  It  was  a  picturesque  picnic,  something  she  could  only  dream  of.  every  little  thing  nini  did  impressed  her  time  and  time  again,  and  this  was  no  different.  ❝  ni…   ❞  she  begins,  cupping  a  hand  over  her  mouth.  ❝  it’s  beautiful.  i  love  it.   ❞  she  almost  has  to  choke  back  a  sob.  ❝  when  did  you  do  all  this?  how  did  you  do  all  this?   ❞
