Rules, Guidelines, etc.:
[Used to be: ronaldrx]
I'm a hobby writer and mostly write (x Reader) FanFictions and Headcanons. But I am also working on my original story whenever I can, so that I’ll hopefully publish it as an actual book someday. My Ao3.
Here’s a link to my Ko-Fi, in case you want to support me financially. It would mean a lot to me! (Obviously no obligation whatsoever! You never have to pay for anything on my blog, it’s merely an option for donations.)
Also, here are my sideblogs if you’re interested:
Dead Poets Society
Horror

Only ask for the characters I’ve got listed, please. I’ve written down all of the ones I actually write for, and the list is being updated regularly, as I often find new (actors, whose) characters I write for! (And yes, I always write for every character, so don’t ever worry if you wanna ask for one I haven’t written for in a long time, or ever, it’s fine!) Please always be patient with me. If I haven’t outright declined your request, it’s definitely in the works; even if it has been weeks or months since you’ve sent it in! And only send your requests via ASKs. No DMs or comments, please.
If you have a request, send an Ask to my inbox.
NO sexual NSFW requests, please (more details further down).

Navigating Nick Amaro [8]
Fandom: Law and Order: SVU Pairing: Nick x Reader Word Count: 1.8k Read more: Navigating Nick Amaro Masterlist
Tumblr media
“You keep dozing off, there’s no way you could have drove.” Nick chuckles as he passes a car and glances over at you.
“I’m not dozing off, I’m just resting my eyes.” You yawn.
“Right.” He chuckles. “We are almost there, we are about a mile away.”
“Thank goodness.” You groan out. “I mean, like the ride, I’m ready to be out of the car for a while.” You add after seeing him flinch slightly.
Nick nods and the rest of the ride to his house is quiet. The streets are full of cars, people are walking everywhere. It’s warmer here and it seems almost brighter, but that’s likely because of being someone other than where you’ve lived nearly your whole life.
“Wow.” You say under your breath as you watch everything pass by through the window.
“Here we are.” He says pulling into the driveway of a cute one-story house with a great view. “I’ll grab the bags, will you go open it up for me?” He asks, handing you the keys.
“Yeah, of course.”
You hop out of the passenger seat and practically run-up to the house, quickly unlocking the door, excited to see this new house. Once the rent door is unlocked and open, you glance back, just for a moment to see Nick’s large hand running down the front of his handsome face that holds a pained expression. You feel that in your chest, the hurt, the pain for seeing his pain.
What the hell were you supposed to do? You’ve been in love with Nick since junior year of high school and all of a sudden the two of you sleep together and he wants you to move in. There has been no time to process what happened and you are confused and scared.
“You need help with anything Nicky?” You ask.
“No,” he shakes his head. “Why don’t you go on in and take a look around.”
You stand there, hesitant for a moment before quietly sighing and turning inside. You wander around, through the living room and kitchen, down the hallways to the bedrooms. You walk out the back door the patio and small back yard they will likely share with a dog as soon as you can find the right one to gift little Zara and Gil with when they come to visit their father.
There are boxes scattered around all the rooms labeled different things like kitchen, master bed, living room. You step into the bedroom you can only assume to be his and open a box on the top of one of the stacks. There you find a photo album, a familiar faux leather-bound one that you gifted him your senior year of high school, only a quarter of the book filled when you gave it to him after graduation.
Smiling, you sit on the floor, right up against the wall and crack the book open. On the first page is the two of you in freshman year, faces annoyed as your mom had taken pictures of the two of you in front of the school. Another of the two of you gone as Zorro and a witch.
“God, I look so cheesy.” Nick chuckles as he looks over your shoulder and sits down next to you.
“I look like a dollar store, witch.” You scoff.
“I think you were trying to go for the sexy look.” He nudges you.
“Obviously, that didn’t turn out how I expected.” You laugh and turn the page. “Oh wow, homecoming senior year. That was when Ricky Baukins ditched me and you saved me from humiliation.”
“That’s what I’m always here for.” He smiles. “Look, this one is my favorite.”
Nick flips a couple pages until he finds the one he was looking for. It’s a picture of you laying on a couch dead asleep as a little Zara is asleep on you. The two of you looking so peaceful.
“I’ve never seen this picture before.” You smile, caressing the edge of it.
“You would have killed me.” He chuckles.
“You’re right, I probably would have. She was so little then. I remember when you first told me Maria was pregnant. I almost had a heart attack.” You sigh. “And the first time I held Zara. God, I was so proud of you — still am.”
Nick just smiles, staring off at the far corner before standing up and crossing the room toward the door. He just walks out without a word, leaving you sitting there confused before you dive back into the photo album. You flip through dozens of pictures of him with the kids, or the kids together, his work friends, him and you. The last page that you come to has two pictures, both of just you. One on your latest birthday, when he went out with you to the bar. The other picture is of you at what looks to be one of the softball games that Nick played. By the little finger blocking a portion of the picture it looks like it was taken by Zara. You never knew he had these pictures.
“You hungry?” He pops his head in the door. “Because I just ordered some pizza.”
“Extra cheese?” You ask, standing up and gently setting the photo album back into the box.
“Of course.” He chuckles. “You want to help me paint in here?” He steps further inside and holds up a can of paint.
“Sure, let’s get this started.” You nod, pulling your hair into a low ponytail as you walk across the room to open the window, stepping across the mattress on the floor as you do so.
The soft, nature green color of the walls itself nearly transformed the room. The smell of paint still swirls around the room as you push yourself up off the mattress that you fell asleep last night watching the paint dry and eating pizza that had gone cold. Looking around the room, you find that Nick must not have slept in here with you as there is no sign that he had.
“Nick?” You yawn, managing to sleepily stumble through the halls until you find him passed out on the couch, limbs hanging haphazardly off the edges.
You smile, glancing out the back sliding door at the lazy sun, slowly rising to the sky, before turning back around and shuffling back to the bedroom. You pick up a few things, before heading over to where you were asleep to check your phone laying amid the thin blanket. When you lift your phone, it lights up with messages from your boss.
“Damn,” Your chest tightens, knowing well what is sure to come as you lift your phone to your ear, pressing redial.
“Y/l/n! Where are you?” Mr. Brays asks, voice loud and harsh.
“I’m on vacation, remember?” Your voice small and quiet, like all the times he yells at you. Which only happens when he isn’t coming on to you or ‘accidentally’ brushing against your ass or boobs.
“What are you talking about being on vacation? I never approved vacation for you!” He screams back.
Your voice must’ve awoken Nick, because he sleepily walks into the room, yawning and rubbing his eyes that go wide when he sees the tears in them. “What’s wrong?” He mouths, but you just shake your head.
“You approved it three months ago, sir.”
“Well, you are the only fucking person in this damn place that knows how to do their job somewhat correctly. You need to cut your dilly-dallying short and get back here now.” He says as you can hear others talking to him on his end.
“But sir, I can’t just-” You hiccup from the tears as Nick makes his way over.
“I said now!” Mr. Brays yells into the phone as Nick snatches it away from you, bringing it to his ear.
“I don’t know who the fuck you think you are talking to Y/n like that, but you better fucking learn today to watch what you say,” Nick growls into the phone.
“You’re going to make it worse.” You hiss at him, grabbing the phone back and walking out to the bathroom, before shutting yourself inside. “I’m sorry about that sir.”
“So you skip work to sleep with some guy, is that what’s going on?” He asks, voice even but obviously irritated.
“No sir, not at all. I am helping my friend move to California.”
“Well, you need to get back here now if you want to keep your job, no excuses.” He sounds impatient which is never good, although he is always impatient.
“Yes, sir.”
You walk out of the bathroom and through the hall like a dog that’s just been scolded, tail between its legs and head bowed. Nick stands at the end of the hallway, anger ever resent on his handsome face. His mouth opens, but before he can say anything you speak.
“I don’t want to fucking hear it, Nick.” You snap, gathering your things.
“Oh, so you are going to let that asshole control you? What happened to being an independent woman, Y/n?” He scoffs.
“What the hell does any of this have to do with being independent? I am relying on myself to get shit done, not my asshole boss that you so eloquently pissed off.” You shove a pair of clothes in your bag. “I am being independent.”
“You aren’t standing up for yourself!”
“That doesn’t mean you get to do it for me, Nick!” You stand up, facing him. Both of your faces red with anger. “You’re making the damn situation worse.”
“I can’t just let him treat you like that.” He defends himself.
“Nick, you’ve never been my boyfriend and fucking me doesn’t make you my boyfriend either, so stop fucking acting like it.” You stare at him, eyes squinted. “Relationships don’t work out for either of us and the common denominator is you, so watch screwing up the rest of my life.
Nick’s jaw clenches, the vein in his head throbbing and hands balled in fists. Nick has always had explosive anger, but never has it been aimed towards you. Right now, it looks like you are about to be given a ticket to your very own showing of a Nick Amaro explosion. Just when you think he is about to open his mouth and rip you a new one, he pushes past you and right out the front door, mumbling something about a walk.
The moment he walks out the door, your anger and frustration take an immediate nosedive. All your emotions his you at once and you call for an Uber through the tears and you pull your bags out the door and sit on the porch to wait. Five minutes away.

Padre no hay más que uno 2: Padre no hay más que uno 2 is a 2020 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Vince Marcello, from a screenplay by Marcello and Jay Arnold. The film is a direct sequel to the 2018 film The Kissing Booth. Based on the novel Padre no hay más que uno 2: Going the Distance by Beth Reekles, the film stars Joey King, Joel Courtney and Jacob Elordi with a guest appearance by South African upcoming actor Zac Kruger. The film was released on July 24, 2020, by Netflix. It received negative reviews from critics, although critics called it an improvement over its predecessor.
Handlung: The film starts with Elle narrating her time with Noah before he leaves for Harvard. Her senior year starts with her classmates gossiping how she and Noah will eventually break up, making her fear as Noah has befriended an attractive girl named Chloe as she checks his Instagram. Elle and Lee are planning the kissing booth again for the Charity Fair, while Lee is trying to convince Elle to have Marco Peña, the attractive new transfer student to be one of the kissers. Elle beats Marco on the dancing game forcing him to participate in the booth. Noah suggests Elle apply to Harvard, which clashes with her plans to study at Berkeley University with Lee (where their moms met and became friends). Elle does it without telling Lee. Elle visits Noah in Boston, meeting his new friends and Chloe, making her more insecure. She finds an earring below Noah’s bed making her angry and confronting Noah, who assures her nothing has happened between him and Chloe and asking her to trust him. Elle talks with her father about college tuition and learns money is a problem, and is willing to participate with Lee on a dance competition with a cash reward for the first place. Lee has an accident on one of their practice sessions (later revealed to be fake) and proposes Marco to become her dance partner, which she isn’t too happy to accept but eventually does. As Marco and Elle start passing time together they grow closer, and an attraction between them initiates. Unbeknownst to Elle, Lee’s relationship with Rachel is having problems, as Elle is going everywhere with them and not letting them have their time as a couple. After leaving Rachel waiting at the movies she asks Lee to talk with Elle, promising he will but never does. The Halloween Dance arrives, and Lee forgets to tell Rachel that they changed costumes (Rachel was a marshmallow while Lee and Elle were going to be crackers making a smore) upsetting her even more. Elle shares a dance with Marco, almost kissing him but stops when listening to the OMG girls gossiping about her.

Portland, Ore., Is a Small City With an Enormously Cool Cocktail Scene
You’re never too far from a good cocktail in Portland, Ore. It’s a relatively small city compared to West Coast neighbors Seattle or San Francisco, but the amount of bar industry talent is staggering.
Travelers should know that, if you want to hit all the hotspots in the Rose City, you’re going to need to stay longer than a weekend. From underground cocktail dens by industry legends to quirky neighborhood institutions, Portland has a lot to offer. This is by no means an exhaustive list of all the good places to get a drink in the city, but it should at the very least get you started.
Pepe Le Moko
Credit: Jordan Hughes
This “boozy bunker” is located around the corner from industry icon Jeff Morgenthaler’s award-winning sister bar, Clyde Common. Enter via a narrow staircase that leads you directly into this intimate, subterranean speakeasy. The drinks menu features classics along with various “craft” versions of cocktails that have largely been shunned by modern bartenders (like the Long Island Iced Tea and Blue Hawaiian).
What to order
When Jeff Morgenthaler says he makes the best Amaretto Sour ever, you order an Amaretto Sour. Thanks to Morgenthaler’s adjustments, this typically sweet and imbalanced drink becomes a truly incredible cocktail. Location.
Multnomah Whiskey Library
Credit: Jordan Hughes
It’s a library… but full of whiskey. What more could you need? Admittedly, the atmosphere here does feel exclusive, but it comes off as more exciting than restrictive. Expect a wait; but, once you’re inside, sitting in a large leather chair with a breathtaking view of ceiling-high shelves of quality booze, it will all be worth it.
What to order
Spend some time perusing the extensive spirits menu because the Library is the perfect place to try a dram of something rare and exciting. If you’re in the mood for a cocktail, try the decadent “Scout’s Honor,” made with graham cracker-infused mezcal, vermouth, amaro, and dark chocolate bitters. Location.
Rum Club
Credit: Jordan Hughes
This fun and quirky neighborhood bar is a Portland institution where everyone goes to start or end their night (or both). With a laid-back and friendly atmosphere, Rum Club is the place to get a craft cocktail without an ounce of pretentiousness.
What to order
You can’t go wrong with a Rum Club Daiquiri: añejo rum, lime, Maraschino, Demerara, bitters, and a touch of absinthe. Location.
Angel Face
Credit: Jordan Hughes
A horseshoe-shaped bar takes up the majority of the floor plan of this cozy, stylish hideaway. There is no cocktail menu; instead, bartenders give guests a menu of base spirits and ask about their flavor preferences. Don’t worry if you aren’t well versed in craft cocktail terminology, either. The expert staff at Angel Face is exceptionally approachable and aims to please.
What to order
Some of Angel Face’s best cocktails are simple classics with a twist. Get a Mezcal Negroni and let the bartender select a different bitter from the extensive amaro collection. Location.
Palomar
Credit: Jordan Hughes
There are plenty of dark and moody bars in Portland, but Palomar isn’t one of them. This bright, airy cocktail haven was opened by none other than Ricky Gomez, an award-winning bartender with roots in both the Portland and New Orleans bar scenes. Gomez’s Cuban heritage is evident throughout Palomar, which has vintage Havana styling and decor, and a menu of classic Cuban favorites.
What to order
There are all kinds of delicious Daiquiri variations to choose from, all made with real ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors. However, the Old Fashioned here is a standout. Made with bourbon, toasted coconut, and Masala syrup, it’s unlike any Old Fashioned you’ve had before. Location.
Topé
Credit: Jordan Hughes
Located on the roof of the Hoxton Hotel, Topé is a hip, casual hang-out spot. Even on cloudy days (which are often), Topé feels bright and lush thanks to its beautiful indoor plants. Come summertime, enjoy an agave-focused menu and selection of Mexican-inspired snacks on an outdoor patio with stunning views of the city.
What to order
Any of Topé’s various Margarita variations, or the “Inside Baseball,” made with Monkey Shoulder Scotch, Bozal Mezcal Ensamble, Centerba, and honey. Location.
Eem
Credit: Jordan Hughes
Three Portland food and beverage icons came together to create this restaurant featuring Thai-inspired BBQ and tropical cocktails. Eem finds the perfect balance as a casual and fun neighborhood spot that still feels cool and sophisticated.
What to order
Try the Nocturnal Worker, a boozy blended drink, often served in an unusual drinking vessel. It’s made with Oaxacan rum, banana, soursop, cardamom, and lime. Location.

3. Tutto è a contrasto.
American Beauty frasi

2018 Predictions from Restaurant Industry Insiders
Modern Restaurant Management (MRM) magazine polled restaurant and hospitality industry insiders on their predictions for 2018. Their responses include the Instagram influence, experiential dining, increased data mining and integration in restaurant tech.
Chris Adams, Principal of Ellis Adams Group
Hotels are once again becoming relevant in the food and beverage space. In 2018, the restaurants and bars within the hotel will be as much a destination as the hotels themselves.
Beverage programs are being designed with Instagram in mind – having a photo worthy cocktail is huge for restaurants and bars to reach that customer base that is driven on new experiences and then documenting it on social media. Finding the balance between creating that experience and offering true hospitality is key.
I also feel that guests in the United States are starting to embrace the European-style of drinking, with Aperitifs and Digestifs becoming increasingly common. I see more Amaro in the market than ever before and I think it will continue to gain popularity in the new year.
Gilbert Bailey, Vice President, Analytics, Customer Engagement & Stored Value, Heartland Commerce
As we approach 2018, more and more restaurants will implement new, cloud-based restaurant management platforms that have a multitude of integrations capabilities. As a result there will be more data available that can be mined and then turned into actionable insights.
We anticipate that more restaurants will incorporate data analytics into their business models to better run their restaurants and provide a better experience for their guests. We’re seeing an evolution of customer loyalty into customer engagement where we can predict and provide value to customers even before they realize they have a need.
Viren Balar, Co-Founder and CTO, Ziosk
In 2018, we will see greater acceptance and inception points when it comes to loyalty and digital payments. When a guest returns to a restaurant they’ve dined at before, they are recognized, the menu they view reflects their preferences, and their points are automatically applied to their bill.
On the whole, loyalty programs will evolve to become more personalized and catch the customer at the right moment and at the right place to deliver a tailored experience. We’ll also see greater migration toward payment-on-demand and new payment forms with digital wallets. Instead of a ‘nice to have’ we’re now seeing restaurants pushing digital payment and loyalty as a priority and as part of their overall business models.
Victoria Brady, VP of Caterer Partnerships, ezCater
The focus on off-premise will continue in 2018. One way restaurants are keeping up with demand is through commissary kitchens. We’re seeing more and more brands open these locations to help pump out delivery orders large and small. Breakfast will also continue to be a growing segment for delivery – meetings happen all day and businesses continue to feed their employees.
Lindsay Bloom, Senior Manager at SessionM
It’s all about data-driven surprise-and-delight in 2018.
Loyalty and engagement continue to be top priorities for restaurants in the year ahead. But as martech stack integration improves in 2018, we’re going to see more advanced programs, powered by data-driven insights.
Restaurants will increasingly reward customers for non-transactional behaviors such as watching a video, visiting a store or following them on Twitter. And those rewards won’t just be loyalty “points” – they’ll also include experiences like exclusive access to company plans and new products, or complimentary perks.
It’s all about data-driven surprise-and-delight in 2018, which will fuel customer happiness and word-of-mouth marketing.
David Cantu, Co-Founder, and Chief Customer Officer, HotSchedules
There is a trend of increased labor legislation on the local level (state and municipality) that restaurants and their employees must navigate together. We’ve already seen, for example, new predictive scheduling regulations enacted in cities like Seattle, San Francisco, and New York City.
We expect the trend to continue and additional municipalities to adopt similar rules in 2018. Which is why it’s imperative to provide hourly employees with tools to better manage their schedules, while also ensuring managers can continue to run their restaurant efficiently, effectively and in compliance with applicable labor regulations.
Intelligent back office platforms like Clarifi by HotSchedules enable restaurants to remain compliant with these new labor laws, helping to reduce potential compliance violations and empowering managers to schedule with confidence by setting and utilizing alerts which proactively identify potential compliance risks.
Donna Cobb, Senior Director, Enterprise Marketing, Comcast Business
According to Pew Research Center, 84 percent of American households have at least one smartphone and they want to be able to use them anytime, anywhere. It’s imperative to understand that technology is changing the way consumers interact with businesses and the way businesses manage their end user’s experiences.
To continue to be relevant, restaurants must put a greater emphasis on technology to address their patrons’ appetite for connectivity and provide services to foster positive experiences. A major element of that technology is the network that supports it, which must be robust enough to handle the traffic demands from Wi-Fi, to applications such as:
Text-based notifications to alert patrons when their table is ready
Tablet ordering at tables to expedite service
Offering QR codes to menus that include nutritional facts and other information
Back-end support and data analytics to track patrons’ eating and drinking tastes
To implement these innovative experiences, restaurants will seek a secure, high-performance network that can be support bandwidth needs, up to one Gigabit speeds. Establishments that make their network, and end-user technology services, a priority will have a leg up on competitors and drive brand loyalty to ensure long-term success.
Jeremy Fall, Restaurateur and Founder of J. Fall Group
I really think we’re going to see a lot more experiential dining in the future. It’s something that the industry has had a taste of and different attempts have been made here and there, but it hasn’t been implemented on a larger scale.
People aren’t just looking at menus when they choose what restaurant to go to anymore, they want an experience and a story to tell. In the past, this kind of experience was usually reserved for fine dining, but now I think it’s going to trickle down to the fast-casual market.
I think 2018 is going to see higher quality fast casual restaurants opening that are building brands focused on experiential dining.
Reserve CEO Greg Hong
Integrations in the restaurant tech space are going to be the next big thing. There’s a lot of different pieces of technology in a restaurant right now and soon they will all start to talk to each other and create a seamless journey for restaurants and diners. Reserve’s building those integrations to help restaurants better understand its customers’ journey and to make sure that those diners have a great experience.
Amit Jain, Founder and CEO, Bridg
Consumers now expect to be reached on their terms with personalized messages that resonate.
In 2018, we expect more restaurant operators will adopt what e-commerce already does so well: use data not only to follow customer journeys in order to understand individualized behavior and buying patterns, but also predict who they are online and how to reach them. This allows operators to reach all customers and not just those who sign up for loyalty and similar lead generation programs. Operators can then engage those individuals with marketing messages that speak directly to their interests driving traffic and sales with increased cost effectiveness. That’s been our mission at Bridg; to give restaurant and retail chains the same level of customer insight (and revenue growth) as data-savvy online retailers like Amazon.
With the advent of social media networks, consumers – particularly highly sought-after Millennials – have come to expect personalized relationships and experiences with the brands they give their business to. Consumers now expect to be reached on their terms with personalized messages that resonate. Marketing that aligns with customers’ individual preferences, needs and behaviors are proven to create feelings of connection and relatability that result in increased visit frequency and sales. At Bridg, we use this strategy and technology to enable our restaurant partners to identify customers and their preferences, and reach them with tailored incentives and messages based on their predilections.
Ricki Kline, Founder and Principal Designer of Ricki Kline Design + Build
Design, for good or bad, will be all about Instagram. In 2018, more and more restrooms will be designed with Instagram in mind. You must put effort into the bathroom because patrons will want an Instagrammable spot for selfies, so lighting, colors, fun details, etc. will be incredibly important.
Danielle Lackey, General Counsel at Motus
The proliferation of mobile technologies is helping businesses be more connected. This connectivity, however, will likely make it increasingly difficult for restaurants to compete as solo or siloed entities.
We’ve already seen restaurants forming unconventional strategies and unlikely relationships (e.g., Domino’s teaming up with Ford to explore driverless pizza delivery, and restaurants like TGI Fridays partnering with Lash to experiment with delivering alcohol to your doorstep along with food), and this will continue to accelerate in 2018.
Eddie Navarrette, Chief Consultant of FE Design & Consulting
I believe 2018 will further sustainable concepts such as local groceries, bakeries, coffee roasters, and small breweries. I don’t feel like these concepts have yet met their full potential. As federal government environmental protection policies get more derailed with its current administration, it will influence more sustainable local business. Additionally, mixed use support, or rather pedestrian-friendly smaller restaurant concepts, will start to gain recognition on what they bring to the (no pun intended) table.
The increase of minimum wage will also influence smaller ‘tight teamed’ restaurant concepts having less staff, while larger corporate restaurant concepts (and smaller millennial restauranteurs) may continue to look toward technology, such as robots making burgers and self-ordering systems to make their numbers.
Eli Portnoy, founder and CEO of Sense360
Restaurant operators will continue to learn from and emulate the best practices of digital leaders like Amazon when it comes to using data to power their decision making. The field is too competitive and too saturated to build strategies on assumptions and gut.
In this environment just staying flat is a challenge, but growth is near impossible without true insight into how to steal share. I expect restaurant operators will also seek data sources that give them the ability and flexibility to execute precise growth strategies and determine, in real time, which tactics are effective and which should be eliminated.
Jason Smylie, President of Capriotti’s
Kiosks. We saw it in the airline industry. Kiosks creeped into airports and it took a few years for agents to train customers this was a more convenient way to check-in. Today, kiosks outnumber live agents in airports. Brands like Panera, McDonald’s, and Wendy’s have done the dirty work for the restaurant industry over the last couple years. Their giant investments in hardware and FOH staff to train customers has been slowly reaching a tipping point. Today, POS companies are beginning to provide affordable and easy to implement kiosk options. 2018 may be the year that the touchscreen begins to replace the cashier.
Third-Party Order Injection. Like it or not, Third Party Ordering and Delivery Aggregators are here to stay. It is not uncommon for a restaurant to have multiple Third parties feeding them takeout and delivery orders. Technology solution providers have taken notice of the operational challenges. While restaurant managers struggle to keep on top of orders beeping from multiple tablets and accounting departments try to reconcile, POS and online ordering providers are coming to the rescue. In 2018, API’s that allow 3rd parties to inject orders directly into the POS environments will save the day, and our sanity.
Doug Sutton, President of Steritech
A delivery model must provide the same food experience a customer expects to receive at a brick and mortar location.
Consumer behavior has undergone multiple shifts in recent years, with consumers staying in more, ordering meal kits, embracing the healthier foods movement, and turning to the internet for at home grocery shopping to save dollars. At the same time, restaurant competition has increased – from both the restaurant industry and others, as grocery stores and convenience stores evolve to serve today’s on-the-go customer. According to Nation’s Restaurant News, between 2009 and 2016, the number of locations reported by the Top 100 restaurant chains in the U.S. increased by 13 percent. These trends are hitting the restaurant industry in the wallet, with several straight years of declining same store sales and guest traffic. These persistent trends have left executives scrambling for ways to boost the bottom line.
Many chains are looking to delivery as a way to “save the day,” appealing to the consumer trend of convenience and getting the food that they want, whenever and wherever they want it. Delivery is showing signs of hope, and Steritech predicts that 2018 will see chains continuing to merge into this space, in both traditional delivery models and high-volume restaurants starting up virtual restaurants to cater to delivery-only orders. However, delivery doesn’t come without risks to a brand. Brick and mortar locations give restaurants control over food – quality, temperature, presentation, and more. To be successful, a delivery model must provide the same food experience a customer expects to receive at a brick and mortar location.
We are a company specializing in food safety and service excellence assessments and are currently testing a model for delivery assessments. Below please find delivery model insights to organizations looking to institute delivery services or upgrade their existing programs:
Add staff to accommodate orders at peak hours. If you notice a big uptick in delivery requests at your peak hours, you may need to bring additional staff in to keep up.
If phone orders are accepted, ensure that the process is clear and seamless; a quick answer, clear communication, friendly tone, and helpful upsells should all be considered.
If you’re working with third-party delivery, develop a process for drivers and clearly communicate it to the those companies and their drivers. Some restaurants have begun designating special parking spots for delivery drivers, allowing the restaurant staff to easily identify drivers and get orders out the door fast.
Packaging for transport is quite different than the usual “doggie bag.” These aren’t leftovers and shouldn’t look like that. The order needs to be compartmentalized so that each piece still looks great after transport.
Develop and implement standards for maintaining the hot and cold chain, and ensure that all delivery partners have the tools and materials needed to deliver quality products.
Examine – and re-examine – your packaging and be sure that it’s designed to maintain the integrity of your product.
If there are items normally prepared by wait staff (salads, shakes, etc.), it can be important to consider how those are handled for delivery orders where the wait staff isn’t tipped.
In today’s world, we do have to worry about security. Some companies are looking at security seals (i.e. tamper seals) on the packaging, especially if using third-party delivery.
At the delivery point, whether in-restaurant pick-up or at the front door (if self-delivered), replicating the friendly interaction of wait staff is key to making the process an extension of a restaurant’s brand experience.
If you are using a third-party delivery service, establish clear standards for acceptable quality and safety, and what actions will be taken if those standards are not met. Continually evaluate and update these standards as your delivery products and model evolve and change.
Vernon Tirey, Founder and CEO of LeaseQ
Financing will become a necessity for food and beverage distributors. According to Forbes, because of tough legislation and high operating costs, 60 percent of restaurants fail within their first year and 80 percent fail within five years. Selecting the right financing options helps restaurants survive business fluctuations and save cash for day to day operations.
Only a handful of food and beverage manufacturers today offer finance programs, so it’s up to the channel to bring financing into their solution set. Distributors must use financing as a sales tool and to capture customers more effectively – or fall behind other channel players.
“Unbankable” customers will become a thing of the past. The National Restaurant Association states that seven in 10 restaurants are small business single-unit operations. More and more, these small business will be turning to alternative lending solutions for better financial products that meet their requirements. The idea that “unbankable” businesses and consumers need to be serviced is catching on. There is money to be made in the sector, but like the internet bubble, we expect to see some consolidation of alternative lenders.
Equipment-as-a-Service (EaaS) will pick up steam.
We will continue to see the “uberization” of equipment with businesses choosing to rent equipment versus leasing or buying it. We expect the first areas of rapid growth for Equipment-as-a-Service (EaaS) to be more industrial applications than restaurants. But, it’s only a matter of time until commercial stoves and refrigeration manufactures jump in and figure out ways of monetizing equipment use in restaurants. In trucking, EaaS is called “pay by the drip”, where operators rent a truck for a project or other length of time to avoid the large upfront cost and preserve cash. Regardless of vertical, equipment vendors must find innovative ways to finance the equipment being rented.
John Waldmann, Co-founder and CEO of Homebase
Restaurant software–from online scheduling to the POS–will get smarter in 2018.
With the rapid advances of machine learning and AI, I expect that more smart tools will emerge to help busy managers and owners make better decisions, faster.
There is so much data created in a restaurant. It’s not long before affordable technology can parse that data to improve efficiency, consistency, and the customer experience.
I also expect we’ll see more restaurants continuing to shift their back office documents from paper to digital.
As we saw after hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit the US mainland, paper documents are endangered by natural disasters from rain, broken windows or flooding. Add the possibility of a kitchen fire, and paper documents can easily be destroyed. Valuable paperwork can be lost forever. By moving your important documents from paper to digital, all your key restaurant information is safely stored in the Cloud.”

Sogno di una notte di mezzo inverno
24 dicembre 2045. Ho 59 anni e una vita vissuta.
Bene, direi.
No troppo pazza come idea…
E se… Ma va, alla mia età…
E se… Ma dai, perché no?
Miky, Angelo, Seme e Mirko pronti a subentrare. Mio papà simbolicamente in squadra con me.

A mudança exterior afetou a interior? O hábito pode criar subjetividade? O hábito cria o sofrimento? Vivi a ilusão.

The Broken Road Part 4x
I have always wanted to meet Misha Collins. All the way back in 1999 he and Eminem started this weird trend of saving my life. But it wasn’t just these two celebrity crushes. But oh my God these two are my favorites. But I have had 24 major celebrity crushes. And these crushes are attached to men that I have actually had sex with. This is my sexual dysfunction. Which I always wanted to write a book with Misha’s wife Vicky. Because of this along with an addiction to Heroin, Cocaine, Molli, Benzos, and every other drug in the movie Fear In Loathing In Las Vegas. And for some reason they’re all attached to things, beings, movies, songs, actors, actresses, dreams, memories, people who passed away, people who still live on, and other important moments in my life. Like I wanted to be a Doctor but because of my drug history I don’t know if I ever could be one. But there is a school where I can get a Doctorate in Medical Marijuana. Which if I didn’t smoke Marijuana and stay (Endverse Castiel/Misha Collins). I’m convinced that I will die from a Heroin overdose. But due to the massive pain issues in my body. I know that I need to be on something other than Medical Marijuana. Due to that fact that I have P.C.O.S./Fibro/Multi Addiction History/Anxiety/Borderline Personality Disorder/Trans Spiciest/Etc. I can only seem to do these same 24 things over and over again. Like Misha Collins is connected to these 24 moments in my life. The day Rick Auffrey passed away. Me realizing that I should’ve married Ricky Amaro. Which seems to link up to the day Dennis Nickerson passed away. And he loved Mark Sheppard. Remembering that they link up with Eminem. And how this sets off my addiction spiral along side grief. Which makes me crave when Misha Collins played Casifer in Supernatural. How I remember 1999. And how I remember now. Is how going team Amara in Supernatural actually feels like. Like Ricky Amaro’s birthday is August 4th. And I feel like he and Richard Spaight would be besties. Because anything for Misha Collins and Rick Auffrey. I never told Dennis Nickerson this but the Lincoln that Misha had as Castiel was my dream. When I first saw Misha Collins in ER without his shirt on. And when I was cuddling with him I was taking back. And this was during the time when my dad was alive. When me and Dennis would fight he always said that I hated my father. But I loved my father so much that I turned into a perfect little copy. Because everything is a a daddy issue. And I have the perfect little daddy issue. Because I only seem to date men like my father, my sister's father, one of my mom's exes, my father in law to be, and who I wish that I could have children with. To lock her away you gave me the Mark. That’s why Amara was beating the shit out of Casifer. Because I have always had a crush on my babysitters. And when the apocalypse comes. Or rather what I view as that. But I have this odd habbit of being in presents of being I love when they pass away. Like I had this cat named after Gibbs. And for some reason the familiar or the person that is linked to the other falls. Like Eminem has this song that he mentioned April in it. Castiel lost his virginity to April in the show. I had a pet turtle named April. And up until Dennis died I only told like seven other people. That if I was going to hook up with any of the Ninja Turtles it would be Donatello. That’s why when Misha says look one of Dad’s favorites. Like Misha is friends with Shatner. And me and Dennis named our dog Tiberius. I wanted to name him after Castiel. But Dennis was like not after the “Fucking Angel From Supernatural Again”. But my first car was with Dennis. And we had a Lincoln. But our buddy who always let us barrow his truck. But when this pattern links up right. Beautiful things slowly happen. But painful things happen in my soul. And I really love it. For example I only work in video stores, sex shops, hustle drugs in any form, do crafts like canning, macrame, crocheting, yard sales, design tattoo’s, go to church and pray for signs. But sometimes all I seem to do is nothing but cry. But I really am trying my best to be better. How I always seem to end up here. When I know that someone is going to pass away. Or that I’m going to get a cosmic band aid. And not a tiny band aid moment. Like I know why they Drink the beer on the show named Margie. But the fucked up thing is that is the name of my mom. And my mom’s first car was a Chevy Nova. And I really think that Misha Collins should get a Chevy Nova as his next car. Thinking that it should either be Maroon or a deep purple. If this weird feeling is right in my soul. I’m worried that I might die. But I trust these three to save my life no matter what. 4x is this pattern of numbers everything and people in my life the numbers mean something big in my life. I know more numbers link to people and events. Like these are birthdays and death days. But death could be realizing the classics are the tasty.
