The feelings I had about this episode were very mixed. The Grantley woman or whatever bugged me and I do hope she isn't a recurring character. I just want Audrey and Siegfried to get together, is that too much to ask? However, I was very pleased with the scene at the end with the two of them being supportive parents to Carmody as he rung Doris. And how close they got in that hallway before walking out was absolutely lovely. I must say, I'm sad to see Carmody go. He actually grew on me quite a bit. Decent episode overall, but bloody hell, they are testing my patience...

Muggins!

One of my favourite Richard Carmody and Siegfried Farnon moments in Series 5, is when they play Cribbage and Carmody says 'Muggins!' Siegfried is having none of it. (Like: 😮) The faces he pulls!

Carmody: ‘Muggins!’

Siegfried: ‘WHAT?!  To play muggins rules you must declare Muggins rules!’

Carmody: ‘Muggins rules are always in play with experienced opponents, you’ve clearly miscounted your points, you missed two!’

Siegfried: ‘I was distracted by Tristan!’ 😮

Carmody: ‘Which means they’re mine!’

*cue unimpressed look from Tristan as he surveys the scene*

Siegfried: ‘Oh, you wretch! I demand a replay!’

Carmody: ‘That’s against the rules!’

Siegfried: ‘I don’t care!’

Carmody: ‘Cheat!’

*Meanwhile Mrs Hall silently disappears to do her warden duties, leaving her boys to play*
