They’re protective, but not overly so, due to society’s attitude towards Omegas relaxing and changing. Theo’s probably the most protective; a combination of his natural attitude and lingering trauma (Max’s abusive home life also adds onto it for all of them)

Theo and his friends go out to eat and at the end of the meal they all realize they have no money on them and one of them has to call their parents to come pay the bill. (Based on both of my brothers doing this more than once when they were teens. 😂)

Ricco smiled innocently, knowing full well he was off the hook. What could they do, ring his family back in Italy? Not bloody likely.

They agreed they’d all rather die than ask Max’s parents for help. They could only imagine the shit-show that would cause. That left Heru’s parents, or Theo’s. Both were kind enough to come help, and they knew that both sets of parents would lecture them rotten.

Heru gave his friends the stink-eye as he reluctantly called his mother. “How does this keep happening?” he demanded. He pointed at Ricco and Theo in particular. “You two are loaded.”

“And forgetful!” Ricco said cheerfully, once more turning out his empty pockets. Max at least had the grace to look sheepish. Theo shrugged it off.

“Shit happens,” he said.

“Shit happens far too frequently for my liking,” Heru hissed. 

“Hello?” came his mother’s voice from the phone and he sighed.

“Hi, Mum,” he said, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Listen, we have a problem...” He once more glared at his friends. “It happened again.”
