Silent Saturday Tag
Rules: Share a snippet that does not include any dialogue.
So I was tagged a whole three weeks ago by @space-writes but I never got around to sharing anything. A lot of my best or favorite writing involves dialogue, and given that what I've been writing lately is mostly dnd campaign interactions, there's lots of dialogue involved. But today I went back and revisited a snippet that I'd initially written a few months ago, after our first session of the Drakkenheim campaign, and I realize it would be a perfect candidate for this! (Especially since I already told Space about the events of this scene in the campaign...) So here, have a bit of what ended up becoming Session 1 PVP. (I'm sorry in advance if this sucks. I'm not very good at fight scenes. I make my sentences too long, and I never know how to describe motion.)
tw for body horror, death, and violence
Carrion stared out into the forest. The long-dead trees loomed menacingly overhead, but nothing moved between their trunks or in their branches. Satisfied that the woods were silent for the time being, he cast his gaze out over the sleeping travelers who lay spread out around the dying fire. None of them stirred or even snored. Ricard’s unsettling rasping breaths had stopped a few hours ago, and Carrion wasn’t even sure the corrupted man was still alive.  He peered closer, trying to see if he could see his chest rising and falling. Before he could really take in any details, Ricard threw off his bedroll. Moving fast, faster than he had any right to be, he got to his feet and moved over to where his companion, Ludwig, lay sleeping. Carrion leapt to his feet as Ricard grabbed Ludwig’s rapier.  Carrion opened his mouth to call out to him, but before he could get a word out, there was a blur of movement. Something lashed out from under Ricard's cloak, wrapping around Ludwig’s head and neck. There was a sickening squelch and snapping of bone as his skull and spine were crushed by what looked like a massive tentacle.  Ricard dropped Ludwig’s body and moved towards where Endra lay, still asleep. As he approached the remains of the fire, Carrion was able to get a better look at him. His mouth, nose, and ears had been replaced with gaping inky purple holes. The tentacle that had killed Ludwig, crushed him with so little effort, emerged from under his cloak, writhing in the air like an enraged snake. He raised higher, preparing to strike at Endra.  Carrion threw himself forwards, leaping over the embers of the fire as he barreled toward the monster. As he lept, his body began to grow. His bones lengthened and his flesh swelled. Strange bony ridges bulged under his skin, and short, thick spines erupted from his arms. Long, clawed nails extended from his fingers until each was at least the size of his pocket knife. His horns grew and split, fanning into a spiked crown-like growth. The world blurred and took on a dusky haze as his eyes were engulfed in purple. By the time he landed beside Ricard, he towered over the man by several feet. Ricard spun to face him, tentacle raised in defense. Carrion batted it aside and tore a clawed hand into Ricard’s side. Hot, sticky blood coated his skin, caking under his nails, and he remembered Valeska’s warning. Don’t touch him. It might be contagious.  It was too late for that, though. He attempted to dodge, throwing his body to the side as Ricard lashed out at him. He wasn't fast enough. The tentacle was surprisingly strong, lifting him off the ground as it wrapped itself around his ribcage. He thrashed against it, roaring in protest as the rest of the camp began to wake around them.
I'm going to tag @transmasc-wizard @zmwrites and @akindofmagictoo and anyone else who's reading this and wants to share!!

Further Elaboration upon the Four
so recently, someone gave a damn near poetic response to my post asking if I should speak of my boys, and so I shall answer some of the questions about them that weren't super elaborated on in the original two posts.
Lysandre tends to wear the Elite Knight armor, due to his trying to pass himself off as an Astoran knight. He still uses his knife, but also has the Rapier of the Undead Prince Ricard in order to keep appearances. Patches would tell you the man was a schemer- a dishonest and opportunistic creature. Let not his words deceive you, for he still becomes cross with those who would agree. Lysandre cared a great deal for Rhea of Thorolund- to the point of murdering Petrus for what he did- and mourned her loss to the paledrake as though she were his whole world. Given how he learned all the miracles she knew despite having no aptitude for them, perhaps she was.
Mardus wore the armor of the Darkwraiths, as well as the Warlock's helm. Their darker nature appealed to him, made him feel more adept in his practices. Despite his inclination to darker magics, he held Lucatiel and Lenigrast close to his heart, as dear friends. Possibly more, in the Knightess' case, although he doesn't talk about it much. He was a boisterous man, even before his learning of Hexes, and was not very humble, even by the standards of sorcerers. After Lucatiel's death, however, he became much more subdued. It is said that in his travels after abandoning the Throne of Want, he wears the armor of a traveling Mirran knight and carries an odd mask with him. Despite clearly being a Gentleman's dueling mask, he says it belonged to someone named Lucatiel, imploring all who hear such things to remember her name.
Genguchi, being unabashedly blind in his faith in the ways of old. wears the gauntlets of the famed Dragonslayer Ornstein. His chestplate having belonged to the Holy Knight Hodrick, his greaves those of the great Paladin Alva. The only thing not belonging to a great holy warrior is his helmet, that of an unremarkable knight. His shield is not unlike those you would find in the sunless realms, and his sword one that despite appearances, carries a great deal of holy power. He cares greatly for all who he has met, but demonstrates a particular fondness for any who were once prisoners, namely the Witch Karla, the saintess Irina, and the thief Greirat.
Argus, for the most part, retains his loyalties and attitudes from the time before Tarnished were even a concept. His admiration for Radahn is seen in the fact that he wears the Demigod's Armor, or at least a very finely made replica. His respect for Godfrey is seen in the fact that every so often, one can find portraits of the former Elden Lord on the moonlit plateau, painted by a shaky hand and steadily getting closer and closer to the true likeness of the First Tarnished. Once in a while, those who dare to explore the Haligtree find bouquets of flowers in a secluded spot, near a body that seems to have been there for a relatively short amount of time. Letters of apology are always there, too, addressed from someone named "A" to the woman, calling her "The Daughter he Never had". And sometimes, at stormveil castle, cold gusts of wind will work their way to the throne room, reminding the Lady of the Castle of a great Warrior and the conquests in which they shared.
I'll talk more about them later as well, obviously, but this is like a part one of the extended lore

Journal Page 13
Sen's Fortress was certainly a struggle. Full of traps and snake people and a couple giants. There was a man named Siegmeyer who seemed stuck, but I was there to keep him rolling along. I was attacked by a hollow who seems to be named Ricard. Had a fancy Rapier, but I am not skilled enough to use it. After proving myself by beating the Iron Golem at the top I was taken away to Anor Londo. To say this place is gorgeous would be an understatement. It's pristine and there's even another Fire Keeper here. She's a bit more talkative, and says that her and the one at Firelink Shrine are linked. Not sure what that means, but it's time to rest and head to Anor Londo.

Ricard’s Rapier
A rapier with intricate decorations. Chosen weapon of the infamous Undead Prince Ricard. Ricard's exploits are told in a monomyth. He was born into royalty, but wandered the lands in a fateful ill-conceived journey. He became Undead, and disappeared up North.

What's you fav weapon type in soulsbourne (this ask sent by the halberd gang)
oh halberds are beautiful. the perfect compromise between the speed and flexibility of a sword, the range of a spear/ultra weapon, and the dmg of a greatsword or ultra. good shit. ruined by the blight that is the splitleaf. that is to say i love halberds but i wish ds3 had better balancing and wasnt like, abandoned and never getting patched again bc there is a huge balance issue with the splitleaf. but halberds are dope and ur valid. historically i would have said ultra greatswords or greathammers bc like. bonk. maximum damage in one hit. but these days im not rly sure what my favourite is. i recently played thru ds1, ds2 and im working thru ds3 for the umpteenth time. and ive been on a kick of like, light fast weapons. dex + magic. the biggest thing ive used in months was a greatsword (ds3, got the onyx blade early by running to the dork who has it in dlc 1 and using force to cheese him off a cliff).
i really like daggers though. its fun to be hyper aggressive and proc status effects on people. and ive been rly drawn to like, fist weapons and basic curved swords lately. painting guardian sword was my main in my last playthru of ds1 and it was great. ive still never gotten around to making a build with the dragonbone fists in ds2, tragically, or the dual shields in ds2. ds2 is just so long i get worn out and never finish whatever goal i set that motivated me to replay. ricard's rapier in ds1 is also competing as something thats just so over the top and fun. the heavy attack does SO much dmg with crystal magic weapon...
i feel like i cant answer this succinctly so im gonna just try to bluntly pick a favourite weapon in each category instead.
daggers: scholar's candle for the way the gesture works when you dont have the faith requirements, instead of lighting it and having a torch you just sort of, fondly stare at the weapon for a few seconds, its cute (close 2nd was the trusty bandit's knife)
fists: malformed claw or demon's fists
straight swords: barbed straight sword
thrusting swords: ricards
curved swords: threeway tie between painting guardian's, warden winblades, and the dancer's enchanted swords
spears: partizan or moonlight horn
halberds: demon catchpole
greatswords: the moonlight greatsword of course
katanas: never used it much but the washing pole is so dumb i love it
curved greatswords: server (its rly pretty if u look close its got like, gold inlay all over it)
axes: thrall ofc
greataxes: black knights
hammers: heysel pick (i rly need to make a dedicated build for this thing its rly nifty)
great hammers: tie between dragon's tooth and the ds3 spiked mace
ultra greatswords: crypt blacksword
misc shit that i have strong love for: darkmoon bow, izalith/blackwitch staff, all the greatbows and ultragreatshields, the weird chime shields in ds2 that can do fucked up stupid high dmg, friede's greatscythe, the white hair talisman, the crystal chime, and ds2's binoculars for letting me quickscope great lightning spears into other players <3
favourite weapon overall is probably the moonlight greatsword but its so hard to pick just one type of weapon lmao... theres sooooo much good shit in these games. and i havent even talked about demon's souls or bloodborne or kingsfield...
tho i realised im not answering the question right so uhh, favourite weapon *type* would probably be catalysts or dual curved swords. it just feels so nice to bonk ppl with a wizard staff, or in contrast to cut them to pieces with two elegant and decadent curved swords buffed with transgender magic (darkmoon blade).
also i hope they put the scraping spear in elden ring so i can hurt the feelings of meta players
sorry for the huge answer lol i could talk for hours about soulsborne.

The "Undead Prince" Ricard wasn't actually a prince. Or, rather, there *was* an Undead named Ricard who had been prince of Astora, but he'd quietly hollowed long before his identity was stolen by an entire string of imposters, forging this legend one rapier at a time.

Wisty Plays Cinders DS3 mod part 1
Initial Impression: “Lets make DS3 more like DS2″
Tumblr media
We’re off to a good start
Demon’s Souls items are really noticeable in texture quality but it can’t be helped.
Expanding on initial impression
I start at the bottom of Firekeeper’s Tower
So many pieces of armor have passive effects
Gundyr’s location is now Corrupted Gundyr who is absurdly powerful and starts in Pus Form, there are fonts that form a ring around the arena of Dark damaging Curse that slowly encroach on the center creating a sort of hotplate.
Lots of NPC invaders
HP scales exactly like DS2 (exact 20 per level, always divisible by 20)
Roll stamina consumption is pretty nuts, being able to only roll 3-4 times can kinda fucking suck.
Many items and armors that were notorious for their rarity are now also placed somewhere on the map
It’s an unpopular opinion but I hate passive poise so much, fucking naked Ricards Rapier man has enough poise somehow to tank me, why is it like this. All it does is make the many more NPC fights so much more tedious when I don’t know when I’ll stagger them or not
FP regenerates a la Order of Ecclesia but slightly slower speed, every FP cost has been revamped
Infusions come with their own unique passive effects
Again, like DS2, any weapon can be infused now (unlike DS2 these infusions are actually worth a damn and don’t fuck up scaling, S dex scaling on elemental infusion my ass). I’m almost certain any weapon can be buffed too
Many original weapons and spells or adapted spells
Very much more Video Gamey in an attempt to be more open ended routing (Lordvessel in High Wall takes you to Archdragon Peak LOL)
Replaced bonfire locations, to an obnoxious degree in certain locations (more on that later), many bosses don’t leave bonfires anymore, defeating certain enemies or NPC invaders will make one
Ton of new covenants both returning and original each with their own passive and currency that you get just from defeating any enemy which you can trade in at certain people
Movesets for borrowed weapons unfortunately don’t replicate their home series animations (Velka’s Rapier R2′s are just Estoc’s, but at least it has Rapier Stance). Trick Weapons are here, but they don’t seem to have the same complexity or beauty (I only found Tonitrus so far)
There are memory items like Sekiro to rechallenge boss fights at any time, they have an altar in Firelink Shrine to apply debuffs to self a la Chalice Dungeons to reap greater benefits and chances for special items
Of course when playing God there’s hubris involved
Archdragon’s Peak was AWFUL
Ancient Wyvern is there, with the bonfire outside, BUT
You don’t teleport to the Dragon Kin Mausoleum after (so you have to run the Gauntlet again)
There is No Bonfire At the Dragon Kin Mausoleum
You have to make it through the entire area (don’t be like me and forget to activate the elevator shortcut to avoid the gauntlet next time.
You can either run straight through underneath Nameless King’s boss arena in which there are like 30 snakes not placed with any forethought, beef gate of the highest caliber, or go through the area normally, neither option is particularly appealing
Lastly, stat requirements for weapons are generally pretty fucking high, seems I’ll have to grind a bit in some places for new weapons (on top of actually needing 40 END in this mode because stamina management hell)
Still having fun, it’s a new trip through an old park. Wonder if there’s cyclical coop but you have to get yourself softbanned to play online (don’t really wanna even do family share)
Tumblr media
They made an Irithyll Straight Sword Greatsword variant, a lazy but fun asset reuse, its got the hollowslayer moveset which is great because I have to grind for the HSGS in this mode.

Dark Souls II: First Playthrough Overview, Thoughts, and Final Takeaways
I'm going to do my best to avoid spoilers, but be warned I'll be name dropping a few bosses, items, weapons, and areas. I think it'll be pretty safe to read for those wanting to avoid spoilers, but I just want to offer caution.
Now, Dark Souls II...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had some folks asking about my playtime/level/deaths, so here ya go; everything concerning my character just before moving onto NG+. I was also rocking the Halberd+10, Ricard's Rapier+8, Old Whip+3, and Hunter's Blackbow+8.
I'm going to try and avoid restating much of what I said in my earlier post, so if you're looking for more thorough and spoiler-free thoughts, check that out first.
So, to build on my impressions of about the first half of the way that I'd played through up to that post, I gotta say the final stretch of the game featured by far the best areas. The locales were more visually inspired, dripped in atmosphere, and had the most memorable set piece moments. Boss fights were, typical for the Souls series, a bit of a roller coaster with them ranging from nail biting and intense to encounters that are more rote and relaxed. In fact, if I were were to hammer any substantial complaint against Dark Souls II's generally improved last third, it's that it was perhaps too easy. Bosses, even the most difficult ones, only took me 2 or 3 tries without summoning assistance, and aside from a certain castle, most areas weren't very tricky or deadly (even if they looked and felt absolutely stunning).
As I noted before, the areas in Dark Souls II are a mixed bag, and the latter half of the game (at least in the order I tackled the areas) featured both the best and worst examples of locales that the game has to offer. Given that this game already feels slightly longer than the first, I can't help but think just excising one or two of these areas entirely wouldn't have been such a bad thing. Would anyone have missed Harvest Valley or Earthen Peak (aside from some of those cool enemies of course)? The Gutter was a more mechanically engaging place, but at the same time felt like a half-baked retread of Blighttown without any of the stimulating visual or sound design; no crackling fires to provide audio ambiance, no impressive landscape of the massive cavern you're exploring or the murky swamp down below. It feels like a bunch of trash hovering in some black void. But I don't want to just sound totally negative; for every area that left me sighing, there were just as many that left me totally breathless.
The mechanics were already discussed, but I gotta emphasize that the changed lighting engine, or whatever happened since the game was announced, is a shame. Aside from being used for puzzle elements or to battle certain kinds of enemies, the torch is essentially a wasted mechanic. Every area in the game is plenty bright and sacrificing a shield or catalyst for the sake of the torch is never even close to necessary.
Bonfire placement is also strange at times. Dark Souls I also had some bonfires eerily close together, but Dark Souls II is almost downright liberal with bonfires far too frequently; do the Grave of Saints, the Gutter, and Black Gulch all need two bonfires each? Does the Lost Bastille need FIVE?
However, Dark Souls II of course still has plenty going for it. The story develops in exciting ways near the end and NPCs are memorable and lovable. Though they may not resonate with so many players to the extents of Solaire, Siegmeyer, or Lautrec, the likes of the Emerald Herald, Lucatiel, and Benhart are still wonderful personalities that really flavor up the experience.
Covenants also feel like they succeed much closer to their full potential than in the first game thanks to the far, faaaar improved multiplayer. I cannot stress enough how much fun I've had serving the glory of the Rat King (it might even be my favorite thing about the game, period). Dark Souls II isn't immune to connection or lag woes, but the overall greatly improved multiplayer stability (no doubt thanks to the return to dedicated servers) means you're engaging with players more often and with far less latency issues. For Dark Souls II's other problems (a disproportionately large amount of "eh" areas, weird balancing, and some weak audio/visual presentation), the greatly enhanced online functionality is such a huge improvement to the game as a whole it comes freakishly close to making up for all of the downsides.
Item, magic, and equipment rebalancing isn't quite as extreme as I expected, but I think Dark Souls II features a more viable arsenal of items and spells than the first game, especially when it comes to rings. Plus, the more lenient equip load changes offer the chance for players with more nimble builds to still wear more protective armor or carry a threatening arsenal of weapons.
So, the million dollar question; is Dark Souls II is as good as the first game? Or is it better? Is it as good as or better than Demon's Souls? Honestly, I'm not totally prepared to answer this question yet. When I posted my initial impressions, I was prepared to answer "no, it's not as good as Dark Souls 1." But the end-game areas are so good (if not as challenging as I'd want), some of the bosses so memorable, and the multiplayer so fun that it's tough for me to say. Not only that, but New Game+ features revamped enemy and item placement, which is something I've always wanted from these game. So whereas before I was quite satisfied with Dark Souls II, now I'm more genuinely impressed and left feeling much more fulfilled by the game. The fact that I can't so easily determine whether or not it's as good as Dark Souls I (a game which I obviously adore greatly) should speak volumes for what I think of Dark Souls II.

Ciaran, don't you think that Ornstein is a bit too...tall for you? Why don't you try prince Ricard? He's very rich, you know!
“O-Ornstein??”Of course, no secrets could be held from the Queen of Lordran, including the young girl’s diary, in which were pages upon pages of girlish, quite embarassing thoughts of the Lion Knight. His red hair, his tall physique, his stern demeanor - he was, in a manner of speaking, perfect. Salacious details may have also been included, but Ciaran would never admit such, even upon pain of death.
“Mother-! Orns-stein, I..N-no! He would never, I-I.. me? Ricard is a pompous rapier-flailing c-cur! But the C-Ca...” Tanned cheeks turned such a severe shade of scarlet, others in the area would fear blood to come bursting from her nostrils. “SPEAK OF THIS TO NO ONE!”
She will climb him like a jungle gym, just you wait.

Dark Souls characters, ranked
The misplaced souls of Lordran
To play Darkish Souls is to hunt victory in a land outlined by failure. Lordran, the sport’s fictional kingdom, is dying. The once-great gods have deserted their bastions, fleeing a world in determined want of a savior. Each crumbling metropolis stands as a tragic reminder of what may have been; echoes of progress all however forgotten. A plague of undeath curses those that stay, lowering their existence to a cycle of dying, rebirth, and slowly hollowing souls. Everybody who travels to Lordran is doomed to fulfill a merciless destiny, however that does not cease individuals from making an attempt.
Darkish Souls has a surprisingly deep forged. They seem to be a unhappy lot. Every character gamers encounter is dying, damaged, or within the midst of a disaster. However regardless of the dire circumstances of their existence, these wayward adventurers are brimming with character. They’re warriors, healers, and students — individuals who can be destined for greatness in another kingdom. In Lordran, nonetheless, they’re doomed. Via a mixture of indirect storytelling and nihilistic inevitability, Darkish Souls‘ characters are among the many most fascinating NPCs in latest reminiscence.
It is excessive time somebody ranked them.
61. Petrus of Thorolund:
Petrus ruins what’s in any other case one of the crucial memorable moments in Darkish Souls. After escaping the Undead Asylum and arriving at Firelink Shrine within the claws of an enormous crow, the Chosen Undead’s first steps on Lordran soil are tentative and stuffed with thriller. This can be a land of unknowns, a spot that the gods have forgotten. However all that magic and momentum is ruined when gamers inevitably stumble upon Petrus of Thorolund, a dopey cleric with what is sort of probably essentially the most punchable face in online game historical past. Something appears doable in Lordran, however Petrus’ pageboy haircut is just too terrible to imagine.
60. Kingseeker Frampt:
This serpentine noodle is essential to Darkish Souls‘ story. He is additionally an abomination. Destructoid’s Co-Editor-in-Chief Jordan Devore summed up Frampt’s existence eloquently:
Some monstrosities are higher left loud night breathing for all eternity.
59. Pinwheel:
Pinwheel capabilities extra as a cautionary story than the rest. Pinwheel is arguably the best boss in Darkish Souls, greatest seen as a hollowed husk extra desirous about researching necromancy than fight. The masks that adorn its face — a Father, Mom, and Youngster — indicate a merciless destiny involves those that search energy.
58. Vince of Thorolund:
One other cleric, one other ugly mug. It’s protected to imagine that there are not any respectable barbers in Thorolund.
57. Nico of Thorolund:
Nico’s solely redeeming high quality is that his helmet obscures what’s undoubtedly one other atrocious hairdo. He and Vince appear to be shut; perhaps they discovered love in Lordran.
56. Rhea of Thorolund:
There’s tragedy on the coronary heart of Rhea’s story, however her best crime is associating with the Thorolund goof troop.
55. Rickert of Vinheim:
Most of Lordran’s blacksmiths are nice. Rickert, nonetheless, sucks. He’s content material to be locked up for an eternity, and that’s effective as a result of he is totally ineffective.
54. Griggs of Vinheim:
Griggs is boring. He’s outclassed by his mentor in each conceivable manner, from spell choice to hat dimension.
53. Paladin Leeroy:
This man is so near greatness. His huge hammer, Grant, is an intimidating weapon and his Sanctus protect appears to be like rad. However the truth that he’s a strolling Leeroy Jenkins reference kills his placement on the record.
52. Darkstalker Kaathe:
Darkstalker Kaathe is the inverse of Kingseeker Frampt, which is superb. However the truth that Kaathe and Frampt are probably two serpents sharing the identical physique means this slippery dude sort of sucks too.
51. Eingyi:
Eingyi is an egg-bearing chump who’s blissful to serve one in every of Darkish Souls‘ most beloved characters. He’d place greater if he weren’t so gross trying.
50. Prince Ricard:
There are a handful of Darkish Souls characters outlined solely by their mediocrity. Ricard is one in every of them, an undead noble whose deft rapier stabs are finally forgettable.
49. Seath the Scaleless:
Controversial opinion: Seath sucks, appears to be like dumb, and is an entire and utter nerd.
48. The 4 Kings:
The 4 Kings have a twisted, vaguely metallic look they usually hand around in the endless darkness of The Abyss. That is cool. However it’s laborious to disregard the truth that greater than 4 kings spawn throughout their boss struggle. What’s with that?
47. Nightfall of Oolacile:
Nightfall’s presence in Lordran alerts the beginning of Darkish Souls’ glorious Artorias of the Abyss enlargement. Previous that, she’s a confused time traveler who is comparatively bland in comparison with most characters.
46. Knight Kirk:
Kirk, Knight of Thorns, is sort of a center faculty bully. He comes out of nowhere and assaults you with obvious glee. And like coping with a bully, the one factor worse than probably getting your ass kicked is understanding that beneath his prickly exterior is a tragic child who simply needs consideration.
45. Maneater Mildred:
There’s one thing to be mentioned about an individual who’s keen to strip off their garments, put a bag on their head, and run by means of a toxic swamp simply to hack individuals aside with a machete. Mildred scares me, however I am impressed along with her dedication.
44. Elizabeth the Mushroom:
Elizabeth will get factors for being an enormous speaking mushroom, however she pales compared to the lovable — and surprisingly lethal — enjoyable guys in Darkroot Backyard.
43. Quelana of Izalith:
So far as pyromancers go, Quelana’s a professional. In actual fact, she’s thought of the mom of the fiery artwork. Regardless of her spectacular resume, Quelana is the black sheep of her household. It’s not as a result of she’s into beginning fires, although. Quelana’s an outcast particularly as a result of she’s the one member of her clan that isn’t fucked up in some horrible manner. Solution to kill the curve, firestarter.
42. Undead Poison Service provider:
Right here’s some lore hypothesis: This poison-slinging service provider is crushing on her male counterpart huge time, however he’s in love with another person. And so, she waits for an eternity, promoting knives and sewer moss as a intelligent manner of keeping track of her unrequited love with out seeming too apparent.
41. Undead Burg Service provider:
This dude’s a nutter. He has some weapons to promote, positive, however his singular obsession with Yulia — who or no matter that truly is — dominates his ideas. Possibly it is his uchigatana. Maybe it is his favourite bucket. Or perhaps, simply perhaps, it is the long-forgotten title of a lovely woman from close by he as soon as knew…
40. Princess Gwynevere:
Gwynevere is not actually within the recreation. The larger-than-life lady gamers encounter is definitely an phantasm. However even nonetheless, Gwynevere’s remembered by gamers as one in every of Darkish Souls‘ greatest, uh, belongings.
39. Blacksmith Vamos:
After trudging by means of the Catacombs, it is good to fulfill a skeleton that is not hell-bent on murdering you. Vamos is a group of bones who is aware of his manner round a forge. His defining trait is his skeletal beard, which appears to be like as if it is assembled from finger bones. That is as spectacular as it’s macabre.
38. Sieglinde of Catarina:
One of many hardest components of rising up is watching your dad and mom begin to lose a step or two. Sieglinde spends all of her time in Lordran chasing down her father in an effort to get him to simply, like, decelerate for a minute. She’s an incredible daughter, however an in any other case one-note character.
37. Witch Beatrice:
Though she will get little display screen time, Witch Beatrice is rad as hell. She absolutely commits to her namesake, carrying a haunting gown awash in deep purples with a gnarled wood catalyst in hand. Beatrice is a summonable character who can hurl spells on the Moonlight Butterfly and 4 Kings bosses, and whereas her presence is welcome, it additionally leaves you wanting extra.
36. Ceaseless Discharge:
Ceaseless Discharge locations this excessive particularly as a result of his title is without doubt one of the grossest doable combos of phrases within the English language.
35. King Jeremiah:
At a sure level, Darkish Souls gamers understand style is extra necessary than kind. Jeremiah understands this, and his bulbous crown works as each an homage to Demon’s Souls and an absurd look that’d slot in on the Met Gala.
34. Alvina:
A fats cat with the present of gab. What’s to not love?
33. Anastacia of Astora:
Anastacia is maimed, tongueless, and trapped. Her existence is a merciless reminder that retaining the age of fireside going comes at a really steep price. Regardless of by no means uttering a single phrase, her presence is sorely missed ought to gamers enable sure occasions to transpire.
32. Knight Lautrec of Carim:
Lautrec is a dick. An absolute madman. A terror in gold-plated armor. However for as annoying as his actions over the course of Darkish Souls are, it’s laborious to fully despise him as a result of he appears to be like so rattling cool.
31. Marvelous Chester:
This man is a grinning hunter ripped from one other world. He is mainly a Bloodborne cosplayer, and since Bloodborne is so good, Chester locations greater than he has any actual proper to.
30. Patches:
I hate Patches. I hate him so goddamn a lot. However I’m additionally frightened of him. Spending numerous hours in his signature squatting pose will need to have toned his physique to Adonis-like proportions.
29. Crestfallen Service provider:
