This has nothing to do with monsters or robots, but I went antiquing and found a PERFECT washboard for such a low price. And I'm just very excited because I've had washboard on my weird little percussion instrument learning list for a little bit now and I'm so giddy For anyone wondering, but how the hell does one play a washboard?

this is one of my fave moments from beyond MOSTLY because of the way you can see spock nodding along very subtly for a few beats before confirming it's "classical" music

i love flash edits especially when it's literally just typing the flash out on a new document over and over again to feel the rhythm of all it together and each time you change or add single words at a time because each time you type it out there's one new sentence that now feels off and it feels like an infected wound spreading all over the piece 😍

#for me the hardest edit round for a flash piece is a Rhythm Edit #where i just focus on how the sentences flow #i think this is a good thing to consider with all writing but i think it plays such a big role in flash #to the point where i actually study poetry to understand it better LOL #but also my hot take is poetry will teach you sooooo much about prose. poetry and prose arent separate binaries they're literally making ou #parts of the lover boy first chapter have me feeling like an archaeologist discovering the bones of a poem tbh #if i make and publish a lover boy poem out of that....yeah....anyway tangent over #im currently self conscious because i have a flash submitted thats 900+ words and im thinking oughhh it shouldve had another rhythm edit

i think the issue with having an extremely inconsistent sleep schedule is not that your overall daily schedule will be out of wack (i am quite fine with changing schedules) but rather that all hours of the day are Schrodinger's Bedtime. like, going to bed just feels like An Option at all times and this leads to a lot of laying in bed almost dozing but not really sleeping

#eliot posts #i BRIEFLY got my sleep schedule back on track but then i got sick had to sleep all day to recover and now it is Bad again #and then before that it was STABLE for a while but...#i was going to sleep at sunrise every day #which was Bad #bc by the time i woke up it would be almost sundown #so time completely stopped feeling real #fuck the winter darkness i am moving to the fucking equator as god intended #we must ALL come to brazil (or ecuador or kenya or whatever)#but seriously tho like why is my default circadian rhythm to FALL ASLEEP AT SUNRISE #it has always been like this and it happens in all seasons #(isn't too bad in the summer tho bc there's more hours of sun and also student schedule lets me Live Like That)#i am constantly battling my body to adhere to a somewhat normal sleep schedule #bc alas being a member of society means i have to be awake and doing stuff at certain times #scheduling meals and activities a certain way and avoiding blue light does NOT fix shit #keeping a regular schedule can help sometimes but is‚ again‚ an uphill battle against my body #i should honestly try getting one of those seasonal depression sunlamps and staring into it at like 10 pm every night #trick my brain into thinking it is sunrise (and therefore time to sleep)#(also i tried melatonin supplements once and it made me feel like my bones were trying to slither out of my skin #and i had a panic attack and didn't sleep that night. so i am too terrified to try THAT again)

#watching bones #a dog died on the show #and my phone popped up today with yknow the memories thing of photos you took x time ago #one of the last times i saw my jed was this week 2 years ago. 3 years ago? i don't remember time is weird #anyway he died this year #i didn't get to see him often but like he was my dog yknow #he's buried in a really nice place but i'll probably never get to see it cs now my parents areall in the uk i haveno reason to go to france #so now i'm crying a lot #speaking of graves now my sister has her name written somewhere i should probably go and see it #it's just nice to know it's there it took 27 years to put her name in stone so i should go see it #or. idk it's in stone it's on a wall somewhere in the crem. but still she never had that before last month.#ohhh 2023 has been too much of a year #everything everything at once #my auntie told me yesterday (mum's dropped her phone in the canal again) that #my gran didn't have her kidney removed (cancer) on thursday cs she has irregular heart rhythm? so they're looking this week instead #she's almost 70 she has cancer on her kidney ovaries and smth on her lung and she can't have blood transfusion and she has smth w her heart #well at least i'm only crying about recent stuff now #pffffft i'm going to make tea #everything is yuck this year

so, in line w my expectations but completely against my hopes, idol land is using the arcade gameplay. i wonder how itll work? i guess top left/right, and then the bottom of the screen? theres no dividing lines on screenshots tho so hm. but yeah its p clear that all idol flopped so they just ported that to mobile since they already did the work on making some songs work in widescreen

#ughhhh i just dont see priparas gameplay working on a touch screen?? especially since the target audience of idol land is different #targetting older teens and adults means they should at least give the option of challenging gameplay imo? ik its not meant to stand w #rhythm games but throw us a bone plssss. photokatsu for instance was great bc they knew kids werent rly gna be playing that #so they made it challenging. plsss pripara make like a platinum disc difficulty. like multiple lanes at once u have to juggle or something
