Daisy sempre admirou o altruísmo de Rhysand, mas isso sempre a irritou profundamente também. Seu amigo acabava se machucando de novo e de novo porque nunca se sentia no direito de dizer o que queria. Rhys investia na felicidade de todos, menos na própria, e Daisy não aguentava mais assistir enquanto ele descobria novas formas de se afundar pelo bem dos outros.

A morena invadiu o quarto de Rhys sem cerimônia, já informada da nova decisão dele. É claro que ela tinha a chave do novo apartamento para entrar e sair quando bem entendesse. “Rhysand Daniel Longbottom, você pode enganar Ori, Frank e quem mais quiser, mas eu conheço esse seu cérebro mirabolante e não vou deixar que jogue seu próprio coração fora para que os outros sejam felizes enquanto finge que está tudo bem. É melhor me contar cada coisinha que está se passando nessa sua cabeça, porque você precisa conhecer e admitir sua própria dor, Rhys. Você precisa lidar com isso de verdade se quiser mesmo toda essa independência que está buscando agora. Você precisa sentir essas cicatrizes, não se convencer de que nunca aconteceram.”

Ela caminhava de um lado para o outro, como um pequeno furacão. “Eu sei uma ou duas coisas sobre corações quebrados, Rhys, e eu consigo ouvir daqui os cacos do seu tintilando. Mascarar e evitar essa dor não vai fazê-la passar. Tentar esquecer não vai te fazer bem nenhum, Rhysand. Eu só vou sair daqui quando me contar honestamente o que você está planejando, porque eu sei que é alguma merda autodestrutiva enorme e eu não posso cruzar meus braços e deixar o meu irmão se afundar assim por achar que está sozinho no mundo quando eu estou bem aqui, Rhys, sempre. Fale comigo. De verdade.”

Ela fungou, tentando não chorar ao pensar de novo em como tudo estava errada e tantas pessoas que se amam continuam se machucando à sua volta. Tentou não pensar no quanto aquele mundo era tóxico e complicado, em como estavam no meio de uma guerra, em como todos eles estavam quebrados e sem qualquer condição de darem o suporte necessário para um... Então, seu estômago revirou. Merda. De novo não.

Daisy tentou segurar, mas sabia que era inútil. Ela ergueu uma mão em sinal de pausa para Rhysand e correu na direção do banheiro. “Eu já volto.” Ela se curvou sobre o sanitário e vomitou o pouco que tinha conseguido comer naquele dia. Foi tremendo até a pia, lavou a boca e o rosto, e se voltou para Rhys, sentindo as pernas fraquejarem. “Ah, e nós temos um problema. Um pequeno, enorme problema.” Ela fechou os olhos e encostou as costas na pia gelada. Era a primeira vez que diria aquilo em voz alta, o que faria tudo real, real demais. “Rhysand...” A voz dela falhou e seus lábios tremeram. “Nós temos... Nós temos um baby Tennant a caminho. E eu não sei o que fazer.” Abriu os olhos cheios de lágrimas e encarou o amigo, angustiada.

Não era o lugar ideal para uma conversa, mas com alguns feitiços de proteção, eles poderiam falar abertamente da situação que levara ao ataque de Riddle.

Ela havia adentrado na casa após a autorização alheia e agora esperava a presença de Rhysand, a bruxa batia um de seus pés no chão levemente desconfortável pelo silêncio que a cercava. Ao ver a figura do mais velho, Walburga abriu um pequeno sorriso. — Espero que não se importe por eu ter vindo aqui mais uma vez sem avisar. — a Black ajeitou-se no sofá antes de abrir a pequena bolsa que carregava. — Trouxe alguns livros sobre Oclumência e... Era domingo, final da manhã.

Minerva pouco se lembrava da ultima vez que havia estado ali. Tantas cores banhavam a igreja que fez a mesma pensar se era algum tipo de festividade, mas não era. Era apenas um domingo normal. Algumas mulheres que a reconheceram a pararam para um cumprimento. Ela nunca havia se deixado emocionar com isso. Ela conhecia cada palavra falsa que era dissipada em forma de gracejos a ela por ser filha do reverendo McGonagall, porem ela sempre havia tentado manter uma relação amigável com as tagarelas.

Arrumou sua saia, indo em direção ao gabinete de seu pai. Quando era menor, passava bastante tempo por ali, o que para ela, era apenas uma forma de ficar perto de Robert. Minerva sabia que não encontraria nenhum dos seus irmãos, ou mesmo sua mãe. Ali era o espaço do seu pai. Os olhos da jovem mulher tinham leves marcas de olheira, o que ajudavam ali no semblante cansado, e por mais que ela tentasse esconder, seu medo. A guerra era real, e por mais que isso a assolasse, o motivo real por ela ter vindo era para tentar entender e achar calma para o seu coração.

O rosto de Robert parecia combinar perfeitamente com as roupas religiosas, e ela pode ver os olhos verdes escuros do homem, que quase sorriu quando viu a filha ali. Ele já estava acostumado à expressão de confusão das moças que vinham ate ele pedir por concelhos, mas era a primeira vez que vez que a via em sua filha.

“Papai... Eu...” O relacionamento de Minerva com Isobel estava complicado, ela sabia pesar de toda a carga religiosa por parte do seu pai, ela nunca se sentiu julgada ou repreenderia de suas escolhas. Abraçou o homem o mais forte que conseguia, ela havia tanto para contá-lo, que em forma de desabafo sentiu seus olhos marejarem.  “Precisava lhe ver, talvez me confessar.” Um sorriso sem humor tomou o rosto dela, com a brincadeira e viu que havia surtido o mesmo efeito em Robert.

Sentou-se no local indicado pelo mais velho, uma das cadeiras que existiam no gabinete e percebeu que ele se sentou na cadeira em seu lado, e não na cadeira atrás da mesa.  Ela suspirou, e contou para ele tudo o que havia acontecido em sua vida. Como Malcolm estava a seguir pessoas que não eram agradáveis, ou tinham ideias que fossem realmente relevantes, e como estava a usar de seus dons para enganar as pessoas. Como estava brava com ele, e com sua mãe, que não aceitava o caminho que ela havia escolhido. Como estava completamente magoada pelas duras palavras que haviam sido jogadas em sua cara por Isobel. Robert assentia e dava atenção a cada palavra que era disparada por Minerva. Mas ele sentiu que ainda havia algo que a mesma não estava a lhe contar, e quando foi questionada, ela falou resumidamente o que havia acontecido também entre ela e Rhysand Longbottom, sentindo uma tola ao sentir seu rosto queimar.

“Ainda que saiba todos os mistérios e tenha todo o conhecimento, mas não tiver amor, nada será.” Começou o mais velho e ela reconheceu uma de suas passagens favoritas, ele não precisava ler. Parecia que conhecia de cor, bom, talvez ele reconhecesse. Quantas vezes ela própria não havia o visto recitar? Robert parecia olhar para dentro da alma de sua filha para ver se ela estava a capitar a sua mensagem. “O amor é paciente, o amor é bondoso. Não inveja, não se vangloria, não se orgulha. Não maltrata, não procura seus interesses, não se ira facilmente, não guarda rancor. O amor não se alegra com a injustiça, mas se alegra com a verdade.” Minnie apoiou sua cabeça no ombro dele e suspirou, sentindo os polegares gelados do homem chegarem a suas bochechas. “Sua mãe esta chateada, você sabe que não durará para sempre. Ela lhe ama, minha menina. Eu duvido muito que há outra pessoa que inspire mais o Malcolm, que você. Desde que você o tenha por perto, ele ficara bem. E sobre o outro rapaz...” O sorriso terno tomou pelos lábios de Robert ao sentir o corpo de Minerva se contrair em seus braços. “Se for para ser seu, será. Respeite seu tempo, respeite espaço dos outros. Respeite seu corpo e respeite sua energia. Foque em outras coisas, minha filha. Foque em você. Você é brilhante Minerva. Não se esqueça.”

Afundava ainda mais o rosto no ombro do homem a cada palavra dita. Sim, ela focaria em si.

“Eu amo você papai.”

“Eu amo você, Minerva.”

O ar gelado de Hogsmeade cortava o rosto de Daisy, mas a sensação era bem-vinda. Ali, a garota se sentia livre e distante dos fantasmas que a perseguiam em Hogwarts. Era a oportunidade perfeita para uma conversa que precisava ter com urgência. Mais cedo, ela enviara um bilhete a Rhys, pedindo ao velho amigo que a encontrasse em frente ao Três Vassouras. O corvino já estava esperando por ela. Daisy correu até ele e o abraçou com força. “Rhys, eu fiz merda de novo.” Disse, com um biquinho, como se estivesse confessando que não estudou para uma prova, e não que espancou Lucretia Black com um soco inglês.
