"Rh-03?"

The swimming gore in the right echoes oddly with the soft blue of the left. A blue like the walls of a nursery juxtaposed with the blood of birth.

The woman stares blankly off, and does not respond to her designation.

In her hands, she cradles an empty sphere. Unbroken, unshattered, unkilled. But unliving. Short blonde hair sways gently in the wind from a little fan that noisily clicks in the corner of the room.

"...Meraki?"

She blinks rapidly, as if woken from a dream.

"Yes?" She turns, at last, to look.

A relieved smile greets her, "Is Mother talking to you again?"

She shakes her head, "No, he was singing. You should listen some time." She stands and places the empty sphere on a stand.

The room is a replica of her old bedroom, though she is no longer the apathetic, cruel teen she once was. No longer does she hide the empty socket of her eye, eternally raw and bleeding.

"I should." The visitor agrees, "I just don't have the ears, I'm afraid."

She laughs. It's a pleasant sound.

"What brings you here, --?" She says the visitor's name, but it scrambles on her tongue, a sound like static and a thousand choir voices at once.

Goosebumps and a shiver dart up the visitor's back, but the smile doesn't falter, "The Admin has called for a meeting of the Rh-08 and you hadn't responded yet."

"Oh." She blinks, as if she's only being told she'd left a charm laying somewhere, "Well, I shouldn't keep him waiting. Thank you, --."

Again.

She brushes past the Sophia instance, unworried about his presence in her room as she leaves. There's something so... reassuring yet terrifying about how she speaks names. They aren't the ones they choose, yet they're unique all the same.

The wisdom instance stares at the empty sphere on its platform. It is just that. Empty. Mother is not there.

The names Meraki speaks are ones that Mother has given them. Meraki has playfully called them nicknames, like any mother gives their children. But they feel like so much more.

Something moves in the sphere, and the wisdom instance bows, "Apologies, Mother." And he turns to leave as well.

Dr Foreman, excerpts from the lore wiki

Dr Foreman is a character who featured in the first Moth Listener audio. He appeared prominently in some of the lore ciphers posted in the lead up the the Lunar Mission collab. He was a biologist working at the shadowy Facility.

1995

On the 9th of September at around five in the morning, Dr Foreman interrogated the recently-detained moth demihuman. During the session, he discovered what he perceived as a relationship between the seemingly spontaneous existence of demihumans, and the moon.

On the 22nd of September, Dr Foreman signed off on the released of the moth back into the wild after the application of retcon, a memory-altering drug.

A few months later, Dr Foreman sent a message to the Facility Director to request research into the link with the moon.

A researcher identified as C made reference to Dr Foreman in a taped debriefing in 1999, saying "It was madness. He wouldn't let the moon thing go."

Several years later, C makes reference to Dr Foreman's research on the origins of demihumans.

First VOICEROID song, the rest are chorus only, not by GYARI to be on this list, and this is on the obscure side of things, well not that obscure, it’s a pseudo-xx song about the girls living after an apocalyptic winter. It has that typical NicoNico eclectic yet cute vibes, which is quite nice. It’s a thing Pepoyo does well, I wonder if he gets here.

A quite a nice ditty from PinocchioP, I think one of his first forays into more light affair, although the lyrics are a bit reflective, it really feels like the transition from the heavy chiptune of RH&C to his more current sound. It also has a sly DECO*27 reference!

Nice to compare with above. One of PinocchioP’s newer songs, I think the two have some light similarities, poppy electronic sounds with deep reflective lyrics, but the production has become much better and more engaging. It kind of grows on you.

Yuki’s third solo song. While the previous two used Yuki’s innocence, this firmly lands in the transformed Yuki, where she is used as this light wispy voice by people who formerly used v flower, and Nakiso uses her to great effect… People call this a yandere song, but it sounds more like a revenge song, although it does go yandere later… 

#736 - Hiasobi (Camellia) [Hatsune Miku]

Camellia, famous in rhythm games, made this song for a ProSeca contest. It did not win, but it did not stop all the MMDs, but there are fewer singing covers, because this is really one of the songs that only Miku can sing. There are not a lot of those out there, but this song, only Miku’s electronic grating rising tones really fits this gritty dance song.

We have a banging bass-boosted dance Len song about the hard knocks of life. It starts blasting and does not stop until the video ends, while Len doesn’t fit so well sonically, the subject matter oddly seems right in line with him.

Not my favorite Kanaria song from this year, but it does fit as a counterpart. I like the Embellique chorus. That bye bye lady makes me think of Jerry Lewis for some reason, not the singer (that’s Jenny Lewis) but the old comedian…

Another song from the Mannequin and a turning point from the three poppy songs. A return to the form and a nice counterpart. The album is about the ups and downs of a relationship, and this is where we get to the down of a relationship. DECO*27’s lyrics tends to vary but ‘down’ lyrics are almost childish, which is… okay. 

#740 - World Faith Revival Zone (Rokuro) [Hatsune Miku]

Finally Rokuro gets a second song in the Legends. Kind of a softer rock than Slow Downer but still very much rocking. The lyrics are about… what it is about? Man, I am drawing a blank here. It’s not bad lyrics, it’s just… I don’t know the direction here.

Now this is pretty good. I like the vibe, and I think this is the furthest departure from the KING trap that gripped Kanaria for some reason. There’s a bit of a funk going on, I like this almost narrative approach, more akin to his first song. It’s a good song, and I think it shows Kanaria can absolutely write something other than KING.

Turns out, my high school factually sucked just as much as I thought it did at the time. Neat!

As another fun anecdote from the hell that was ~2009 RHS, after the 08-09 school year Rockridge (illegally) cut its only art class for "budget reasons" while simultaneously building a new press box for the football field. The team hadn't seen any post-season play in 3-5 years at that point, and wouldn't until 2012ish. It was a joke amongst (me and the other top 15% of) the students to wave at the press box and say "Hi <former art teacher's name>!" when we ran past it in P.E. The football players would claim that they "raised the money themselves" through an in-person steak dinner fundraiser, but that never convinced anyone because WHERE'D YOU GET THE MONEY FOR ALL THE STEAKS???

Some time after I had graduated, a state official came by, saw the school was breaking the law by not offering to teach art to children, and forced the school to reinstate the art program.

I fully blame my lack of artistic ability on the administration removing my ability to learn anything about art.

It always made me sad to have study hall in the corpse of the art room, because they never got rid of all if the art supplies nor any of the old students' works. We just had to sit there, in the husk of creativity, and silently read books or do trigonometry homework.

Anyway, I'm going to stop doxxing myself and go back to reblogging other people's incomprehensively-good art.

The Compounds and Gates.

The Facility tends to keep towards simple names, as is obvious with its own name. The ideas of quirky propaganda or copyright are far from their minds for obvious reasons.

A compound is any building The Facility has taken command of in a timeline. Usually very defensable places, typically reinforced with their own work.

Within the outer layers, compounds appear and function like a military base. Typically compounds in stable timelines function to ease new recruits into subdimensional structure and life and for strict enforcement and training for the rules when in other timelines.

The midlayers are more residential and relaxed, often for higher officers while they have duties in that specific timeline, usually very sparse in stable timelines and more occupied in active activity timelines.

The inner layers are lined with interdimensional holding cells, used to contain and interrogate instances from the present timeline, as well as any insubordinate new recruits. Masters and douji are treated with the same level of caution as if they were Milieu himself, simply because of what they know about other timelines.

Gates are a stabilized opening between dimensions, and while all of the Rh-08 officers and Administrator can produce them on their own, there is typically one active in most compounds with a hairtrigger shutdown and multiple failsafe on the Facility side to prevent invasion, infestation, or bleed from the timeline.

Minha RH chegou!

hoje, 08 de outubro de 2024 é meu primeiro dia escutando o áudio. Chegou dia 03 no meu email, mas só fui perceber hoje. Mais cedo quase dê um treco, porque aparecia no meu computador informações de que tinha vírus, trojan... eu fiquei desesperada e até chorei, mas instalei um antivírus e parece que está tudo bem.

Saber da RH hoje foi muito bom, fiquei bem feliz e animada. Foi bem rápido, pensei que iria chegar em dezembro. Foi uma surpresa.

Irei estudar coisas da minha faculdade e ver uma palestra do Hélio couto. Conforme o dias vão indo eu vou contado mais aqui.

HISTORIA

Nacido en el distrito #1, el más alejado de la Ciudad Luminosa y, por ende, el más empobrecido de todos. Sobreviviendo en base de chatarra echada no solo por los más ricos, sino también por sus demás Distritos, Sooan nació en una familia empobrecida y, además, adicta. Sus padres adictos a los virus y drogas virtuales, que solían inyectarse por medio de pequeños puertos usb conectados a sus sistemas muy humanos, pasaban la gran mayoría del día tumbados y alucinando con diferentes mundos más allá de la mugre y la oscuridad que conocían.

Sooan desde muy pequeño aprendió a rebuscar entre chatarra y basura, buscando un pan no echado a perder y un poco de agua para pasar le dureza de su alimento, evitando a toda costa hurtar o consumir alimentos que sabía eran de otros, después de todo, desde muy pequeño contaba con un corazón gentil y desinteresado, que velaba por los demás inclusive cuando estos lo echaban a patadas o pedradas de sus establecimientos.

No fue hasta que una vez, cuando tenía cinco años de edad, recibió la primera visita “celestial” mientras buscaba en un bulto de basura, siendo capturado por los soldados de luz y llevado a cuestas hasta su casa donde lo tumbaron a los pies de sus padres, junto con un puñado de billetes y una bolsa con drogas. Sus padres intercambiaron un niño sano, con todos sus órganos y con la capacidad de aprender, adaptarse y sobrevivir; por un montón de banalidades y sustancias ilegales. Desde entonces, Sooan no volvió a ver a sus padres ni tampoco tuvo ningún tipo de contacto con su Distrito, puesto que fue transferido hasta la gran capital, donde la ciudad no dormía y siempre era una fiesta, La Ciudad Luminosa.

Sooan lloraba día y noche en las instalaciones, mientras veía los demás cuartos de cristal siendo llenados con otros niños, algunos más grandes y otros más pequeños, pero todos con números tatuados en el antebrazo, perdiendo sus nombres y siendo utilizados como ratas de laboratorio. Los experimentos comenzaron siendo tortuosos y devastadores, dejándolos en cama durante días enteros o en estado inconsciente completo. Esas torturas mermaron cuando al parecer, los científicos encontraron algo interesante en su proyecto, todos los sobrevivientes contaban con un tipo de sangre especifico, AB con RH positivo.

Sooan entró en contacto con otros dos niños con su mismo tipo de sangre, Gyeong Bulyeong y Moon Haneul, quienes cumplían al parecer con todas las características necesarias para ser los prototipos del afamado proyecto, Deus Ex Machina. Junto con otro puñado de niños dotados, comenzaron a entrenarse tanto física, como mentalmente, para el futuro cuando sus cuerpos hayan madurado y asumir sus responsabilidades.

Fue en ese momento donde tuvo acceso a otras áreas del establecimiento, como la biblioteca donde le enseñaron a leer y veía los libros de antaño, donde la tierra era de color verde y azul, y no rojo y negro como actualmente. A los jardines donde Sooan pasaban gran cantidad de tiempo entre flores artificiales y animales sintéticos, bajo el increíble sol falso sobre sus cabezas que en el área remota del Distrito 1, difícilmente se podía ver. En la cocina y el comedor, donde aprendió a cocinar pastelillos y se alimentaba hasta atiborrarse, agarrando algo de peso y color en su piel.

A pesar del horror en donde habitaban, el amor no se hizo esperar. Haneul y Bulyeong se enamoraron profundamente de Sooan, quien de entre los tres, era quien demostraba mayor ser el balance entre los dos temperamentales adolescentes. A pesar de que sus sentimientos por ambos eran parecidos, Sooan en algún punto de la historia bifurcó todo su afecto y admiración hacia Haneul, quien era quien siempre estaba ahí para él, quien lo abrazaba durante las noches, quien limpiaba sus lagrimas y le decía todo estaría bien. Sabía que Bulyeong podría hacer lo mismo, y su corazón latía inclusive con más fuerza al pensar en habitar en ese par de brazos fuertes, no obstante, Sooan tuvo que acostumbrarse a solo ver la espalda de Bulyeong y nunca un acercamiento concreto.

Con el tiempo, los demás adolescentes comenzaron a perecer, a causa de los enormes entrenamientos y el sufrimiento casi mártir al cual fueron sometidos día y noche. Bulyeong sobrevivió gracias a su fuerza descomunal, inclusive sin tener prótesis, siendo el principal candidato para ser el cuerpo del 4d4n. Haneul al ser una persona inteligente y sumamente voraz en cuando a procesos de información, recibió el cerebro para agilizarlo y mantenerlo funcional y Sooan, en su increíble gentileza y amabilidad, creyeron que era perfecto para recibir el corazón sangrante, abriendo su caja torácica para ser cambiada por piezas de metal y fibra de vidrio, conectándole el corazón iracundo que su temple perfecto, iba a mantener a raya. Al parecer todo pintaba perfecto, los tres serían la cara de este proyecto de control mental en masa, no obstante, aquello era una mentira. Solo querían que tanto el cerebro como el corazón fuesen adiestrados a un cuerpo humano, antes de pasarlo al real cuerpo del 4d4n, Bulyeong.

Fue una noche oscura sin luna ficticia cuando Sooan, impulsado por sus dos amigos y sus propios deseos de ser libre y vivir una vida “normal”, es que infectó las maquinas a las cuales fue conectado para experimentar con él esa noche. En su inconciencia, reprogramó sistemas enteros y calculó el momento y la fecha correcta para que se apagasen todas las luces y el espectáculo, terminara. No faltó mucho tiempo hasta que las puertas de sus celdas de cristal se abrieron y todas las alamas del lugar se mantuvieron apagadas por cinco minutos, consiguiendo los chiquillos huir y esconderse de sus perpetradores.

Huyeron hasta el Distrito 5, donde una especie de rebelión contra el sistema se estaba llevando a cabo. Sooan y Haneul estuvieron de acuerdo con perseguir el objetivo burdo y tonto de liberar los pueblos por el bien de la humanidad restante, no obstante, Bulyeong no estuvo de acuerdo con perseguir sueños obsoletos. Su code name real es m4r1a, renombrado como “beta 3v4” al intentar ser el corazón que acompañaba el adán, pero ante la rebelión y el escape, fue catalogado como un “l1l1th”, la esposa de adán remilgosa y pecadora.

Haneul recibe el code name de “4g3nt3.btz”, en honor al primer virus que desató ciberguerras, aún existe en forma de cyborg, acompañando a Sooan a todas sus aventuras, aunque ya no tenga mucha conciencia humana.

Su sueño es conocer la tierra verde y el mar azul, sabiendo que es un poco imposible en la actualidad sin que sean simulaciones o mentiras.
