Vexacious Vexillology For Sims 3

The other half’s been back up to their tricks of creating Simming flags and coming up with back stories for them, and now has finished finally (for now ...) with their long term project of doing ones for all the lands by Rflong7/13, Nilxis, Norn and the gang, along with some others you will have heard of (or maybe not):

There’s a few in-jokes with some of the flags that only the people involved with those CAW creations are likely to get (for now ...).

Also if you want to know all sorts of useless knowledge fascinating flag facts such as why Tiny Island has on its flag the Black Sea Horse Of Complete And Utter Evil And Stuff, go over there and find out.

They’ve agreed to posting the whole lot here to get your attentions as they have a bit of an S.O.S. to put out.

Visty6 has of course disappeared to the Glitterturd and doesn’t appear to be contactable anyway, as such two of her worlds - Sunny Bay and Fantasy Island - have been taken down by malicious DMCA claims to Mediafire by people pretending to be EA,

It just so happens yours truly has the one for Fantasy Island anyway downloaded a long, long time ago, but neither of us have that for Sunny Bay.

We’d like to get a copy of this so at least someone has a full store of all of Visty6′s islands if the worst comes to the worst, so if anyone out there has Sunny Bay please get in touch.

‘just normal sims 3 gameplay’ - that’s what they all say at the start! Welcome to the awesome. What game packs do you have just now?

Our main story is the continuing saga of Raiders Of The Lost Island Consignment Shop, which is a tongue-in-cheek romp featuring a lot of Simmers’ Simselves (plus others) chasing after the Winterbottom Code for untold riches and all that stuff, amid more than a few sub-plot diversions. We’d hoped to finish it this year, but unlikely now. So far it has featured pirates, Daleks, the cast of Harry Potter, Simgurus, international conspiracies, a duck worshipping cult, the undead and the occasional Granny Eater ...

Two stories that we’ve actually finished are The Sea Nymphs (about two groups with dubious pasts hiding in plain sight on Rflong7/13′s remote Horse Head Island ...) and The Llama Lies Down On Broadway - a prequal of sorts to The Sea Nymphs (to cut a long story short, quiet mousey Pandora Spinney goes to wonderful Boroughsborg - as a result, all hell breaks loose ...)

Sul sul simmers! Im a new sims 3 gameplay blog hoping to find simblrs to follow some interesting stories :) I only have a select few packs but hoping to grow my collection! I like to do legacies and just normal sims 3 gameplay Iv started with a sim im going to be using for the "random legacy" Enjoy!! :)

I was tempted to download it anyway but I would most likely have to spend a lot of time replacing missing content or it just might not work. Take lots of photos.

There seems to be redundancy in rabbit holes.  I'm sure, although you'd lose some, there wouldn't be much damage control.

It's a very, very, very large world!  Six dive lots scattered throughout the oceans, rivers and lakes.  One hidden island.

A very ambitious world.  Beautifully done.  My computer usually has no problems with big worlds, but this one is EXPANSIVE and rendering is not instantaneous...  I don't think I'll be laying this world unless I get a new machine.  I will take the time to check out the dive spots, though  ;)  Maybe pinch a couple if they're nicely done.

Sims would have a hard time making it from one end of the world to the other to get to work on time, if at all.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Dumblr (Bumnuggetry ... Of Course!)

On Saturday, your humble narrator noticed the following post on Dumblr from Cororon ...

... to which a reply was duly made commiserating on her injury, wishing her swift recovery, musing on the annoyance of attempting to keep hand dressings (whether bandages or sticking plasters) clean and dry, and for good measure posting up the creepy video for the appropriate Editors song 'Blood' (from back in the days when people bought their records ...)

It was when typing a reply to one of NikkeiSimmer's however that it appeared to be suffering from the MedleyMisty disease ... you know, that moment you type a reply, hit send and it refuses to do so and is also impossible to even save in drafts because apparantly no one is allow to repost MedleyMisty's output but she is allowed to do so with everyone else's. Go figure.

(Otherwise we'd be reposting every bloody squee kitty pic she posts from now until doomsday, in accordance with the first law of the internet, which states that it is primarily for the circulation of cat photos ...).

NikkeiSimmer had made some indirect comment earlier at the latest egocentric drama llamaing amongst the Glitterturders, and how at his age he was too old for bothering with any of that bumnuggetry. Wondering whether something had happened to make him subsequently 'do a MedleyMisty' and turn off the repost and reply option on Nikkei Simmer's Sims & Photography as a result (Dumblr not exactly being the home of mature analytical thought amongst its mutant hordes ...), after conferring your humble narrator decided to send Nikkei an enquiring message.

Except that all of a sudden that option had been cut off too by this ...

The Dumblr equivalent of:

Cue the inevitable contact of support, asking 'WTF?' and 'please reinstate' ...

... all the while preparing a back up and not exactly being that sorry about what had happened - forcing our hand into doing what had been mulled over for two years.

As to the 'WTF?', currently we have a private wager on for the reason this has happened (it'll probably take Dumblr a week to get their finger out and reply, judging from what happened to others!)

The first is that as said Dumblr account was accessed and posted from via a VPN by accident, it could have triggered the automatic security about 'unusual account activity'.

The second is the attempted reposting of Cororon's 'Blood' post. As the wording said 'I c** myself' [note the self-censoring here!], it could be that our repost triggered off prevention measures against the dissemination of information regarding self-harm/self-mutilation - which many social media providers are now being legally forced to take action regarding.

Bothered? Nah! If anything, it's a blessing as it has forced our hand to rejig our Dumblr activities into something a little less adhoc than has been the case.

With all the back posts of Raiders Of The Lost Island Consignment Shop, The Sea Nymphs and The Llama Lies Down On Broadway, we can have a regular queue of daily posts to entertain readers anew.

(Stop groaning, we enjoy it!)

Much of Dumblr's admin is automatically done by less than sophisticated algorithms. It was only a matter of time that we'd fall victim like everyone else. The difference is we never put all our eggs in one Dumblr basketcase.

But it is rather funny to find ourselves part of the news for once instead of reporting on it.

So in the words of Rflong7/13 ...
