Scorpion Gunship in old monarchist livery. The bright orange is eyecatching an impressive - effective when the Sond Royalty were the only real military on the planet. After a string of especially brutal defeats at the hands of system-11 mercenaries however, the monarchists realised they needed something more subdued.

Typical of many monarchist vehicles fielded before the revoloution, the Scorpion is visually impressive, but too big for its role and a monster when it comes to keeping it maintained. Its high points are obscene amounts of thrust and an impressive defensive profile thanks to the large PD laser in the droop-snoot and the thick armour covering the whole thing.

When they were able to get flying, scorpions were a real menace to S-11 mech columns, capable of punting devastating amounts of fire downrange while shrugging off glancing return fire. Their poor logistical profile greatly hampered their effectiveness however and simply weren't able to fly enough to be hugely relevant outside of psychological warfare.

YESSSSSSSS finally this account makes a good meme

I decided to main stick to monsters and aliens from the OG 1966 series to start this mini project, then I added a few characters from Ultraseven...Mainly because I really wanted to draw this goober.

Now for an extraterrestrial monster representation, we have Eleking. For a motive, maybe he wants to avenge his owners (traditionally the Pitts) after Stellar blew up their spaceship (again, maybe during his jerk era? Although to be fair, most of the time Ultraman aliens really don’t do themselves any favors in the sympathy department. Watching Eleking’s debut episode, I got the feeling that the Pitts did not give very much of a shit about their pet monster. At all.). Not counting Junior, he’s physically and mentally the youngest of the Five.

I’ve actually got an idea on how I’d redesign this fella. I wanna play up the fact that he’s supposed to be some kind of salamander/eel thing. He “stands” on a thick and elongated tail, and maybe uses electromagnetism to float and “swim” through the air (fish Pokémon be like). Kinda like that weird design they used in Ultraman Fighting Revoloution: Rebirth I think? His body markings are gonna be symmetrical here, to make him easier to draw. His antennas act as eyes for the purpose of conveying emotion, but I’ll mention that they probably aren’t used for sight. 

Being an alien, Eleking doesn’t really have a pre-established place in the world, so just kinda hangs out on Taretare island, mostly in the lakes and rivers. STAR couldn’t figure out a safe way to contain him and he ended up escaping their facility after capture.

He hasn’t changed that much between past an present, but the “recap scene” could have a flashback showing the canon “baby” Eleking designs we’ve seen a few times (There’s at least two or three, actually from what I’ve seen).

Gonna have a go at a robot or two next.

I know sometimes during all this death art feels worthless but i feel like art is a great tool for radicalization & we know of past movements from the art of the time. It puts a physical image onto an issue that cant escape peoples minds once the memorys placed. Its proof of our old revoloutions impact & will be of ours now even if its deleted or lost. I understand the dread though. I can barely get myself to draw once a month when i used to every day

Absolutely!!!! Thank you for telling me this, I agree with you 100%. I've been more creatively driven lately, mostly because I don't *want* fascism to win over me and depress me into not expressing. I think making art and expressing your genuine self (especially as a queer or trans or minority person) itself is an antifascist action, and although I don't think making art is some super rich direct action that should be applauded for, I do think it's an important aspect of keeping our humanity intact and growing our souls in the face of hopelessness.
