Ace avoids her, but it feels different somehow. Before it was nothing but aching absence and the pain of everything she couldn’t have. Now his absence is undercut by all the ways he’s still there. The books that have had the bookmarks moved a little further when he’s come in to the historical society to research. The cartons of sorbet that appear on her doorstep every evening. The notes dropped on their private server - not to her, never to her, nothing as risky as that - comments about his day in the morgue, interesting tidbits of information, on one occasion a link for a song that she listens to on repeat until she falls asleep that night. The lyrics about love and yearning making her feel like Ace is lying next to her, staring up at the stars stuck to her ceiling and whispering the secrets of his heart in her ear.

Nace, The Curse and the Sin Eater, A Theory.

(but actually this time)

Okay, I am far from the first person to theorize this, but Nancy wearing the same shirt in the picture she is wearing after the Nace talk in 408? Can't be a coincidence.

I am putting money on the fact that Nancy confessed something about Ace and the curse, and it was erased by the Sin Eater.

We've all been wondering how we went from "I'm not happy without you in my life" and "you make me a better person" to Nancy gushing over Tristan and Ace being obsessed with a ghost in two episodes. And why Bess and Nick are Team Tristan, and why everyone is acting like the curse isn't a thing.

It's so very OOC that it can't NOT be intentional. So yeah, if Nancy erased maybe the 403 attempt or even before, they wouldn't remember it. They WOULDN'T think Nace is a thing. From 403-408 to 409-410 is SUCH a shift in their dynamic, it is almost unbelievable. Even in 406, Nancy wasn't pursuing Tristan.

@reviewdiaries brilliantly pointed out that Nancy was talking about memories in 408. You're only left with memories, and good or bad, you get to make more. But the memory of what they can't have was killing both of them, so Nancy may have thought "I can set Ace free while taking this pain away from myself since I'll never get to have Ace. They could be in each other's lives without that pain. She's doing what Ace tried to do, get them back to before.

I've also seen people talking about how that conversation in 408 may have been added in to accomodate a shorter timeline, which tracks with this. As does the time travel theories, in a roundabout way, that have been floating around.

Also, I'm sure Ace's ghost is a malevolent spirit. Probably brought on by getting the water splashed on him in 408. So 408 did indeed take them in different directions.

Also, if we're theorizing that Tristan and Nancy have been together in past lives, it could go with the concept that no matter who they're with, Nace will find each other and are soulmates at any point in time. That would fit the finale description.

I think we've connected the dots here, folks!

4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?

In the quiet my fears with the touch of your hand, I'm actually super proud of the way I managed to have Tim relate to Tamara in the way they both want to prove it to the world they can do it, how he probably left home for the military as an escape, and how maybe he doesn't want the same thing to happen to Tamara.

14. Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer?

I mean any of my less favorite tropes... I'd probably read just about anything from my fave writers and friends.

24. Are there any easter eggs in [insert fic], and if so, what are they?

I don't know that there are any easter eggs in i know better (but you're still around), but perhaps two fun facts:

The line "If he wants ice, she’ll give him fucking glacial." is by @queseraone and I just loved it so much. I used another word instead of glacial and she totally came and knocked it out of the park.

And the reason I had Lucy go to take a walk on the beach was because she figured he wouldn't even go looking for her there because he hates the beach. 🤭 Which, Lucy, baby, is ridiculous because Tim would totally go on the beach for you, I don't make the rules.

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

Honestly, I'd say not much? I very much enjoy being someone else when I write! That's one of my fave things about it.

40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

Done this. 🙈

41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”

This fic by @reviewdiaries and really all the others too, but yeah, some of us wish! And that's a compliment btw.

Also this fic by @makeitastrength which I'm still criminally behind on but chapter one absolutely ruined me 🙈

If when you hold me (it holds me together) was a pair of shoes, it would probably be the pair of comfiest, softest sneakers made on earth. It would be the pair you'd reach for over and over again when you went on long walks because of how comfy they are. Walking on top of clouds.

You didn't put a fic, but I'd probably struggle with this question anyway 😂

48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?

I read We Must Be Living In The Golden Age before because I saw a quote on our blog and I really really loved it and definitely recommend it!

49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!

"But as fate or luck would have it, Lucy becomes a friend of sorts. He runs into her at the bar, figures the least he can do is buy her a drink, since she’s keeping Isabel’s secret. And for the first time since his wife has left and his world turned to shit, Tim forgets. For fifteen minutes that he spends talking to her and having a beer, he forgets.

And that’s the drug he gets hooked on."

This is from a UC AU wip of mine where Lucy is Isabel's rookie. I'm determined to finish it at some point. 🙈

My first week in CPAR

Yes, finally! I can say that I am a CPAR baby. I know I made the best decision for this for my formal review for the CPALE May 2019.

Sa totoo lang, excited ako sa review. I don't know why pero ganun talaga yung feeling ko. Parang it's a completely new environment pero di ka maoop kasi lahat kayo has only one goal: to become a CPA.

Di ako nahirapan mahanap agad ang seat ko, and i must say ang ganda ng pwesto ko kasi di malayo sa board, kita ko pa din mga sinusulat ng mga reviewers.

Binigyan kami ng handouts sa first day palang namin. Ang gagaling ng mga reviewers namin. Winner silang lahat.
