can you imagine the little heartbreak Roman felt when he was having another day at the Institute when he heard about an unfortunate soul was attacked by a puppetry demon, got dropped on the entrance of the institute and that unfortunate soul turned out to be the kind stranger he met twice before?...

Third time's the charm, am I right?

Just Paint

They never expected it to be easy. Although, saying this was difficult, was a massive understatement. They stared blankly at the canvas in front of them, paintbrush in hand. The researchers had said this might aid with the nightmares, putting it out onto something they could burn or destroy or simply leave behind. Sure, it might have been cathartic but it seemed more symbolic than anything else. They hadn’t taken the advice of those denying them their freedom. But now, here with Roman? They didn’t feel as trapped.

The past few months had been nothing but traumatizing, emotionally exhausting, and completely confusing. They had entered a whole new world that they still didn’t fully understand. The rules didn’t work the same way, and some rules no longer existed. Like, apparently one can’t just bring a puppetry demon to court for taking away bodily autonomy and memories. Who knew?

Pip closed their eyes, resting the handle of their paintbrush against their knee. Roman had been kind enough to grant their request without question, gathering the materials. Then again, he was probably told to do the same thing. Maybe for different reasons, but painting couldn’t have been unfamiliar. 

The nightmares were getting worse. It was the whole reason they had decided to go along with this symbolic bullshit. They weren’t normally a sleepwalker, but ever since the possession — that was what they were going to call it, no matter what the movies said — they found their body moving against their will. Sometimes they would wake up and they couldn’t move. On those nights, their hearing filled with static and incoherent mumbling. Other times, they would wake up in an entirely different room. They had begun to lock their door, just to stop themselves from accidentally getting hurt. Roman was worried about them, Pip could see that. Maybe that was the real reason he hadn’t asked any questions. Maybe he was willing to try anything that might help — no matter how ridiculous. 

Pip opened their eyes again, staring at the still blank canvas. What would they even paint? The time under possession had been like they just fell into a dreamless sleep and woke up within the institute. All they had were those murmured words. Their stomach curdled as they thought of the words, the voice saying it. They could feel their chest tightening and immediately scrambled out of the stool. They backed away from the canvas, eyes wide and breath trembling. 

It was funny how a single voice could tear their stability apart so easily. They set the paintbrush down, crouching onto the floor. Pip held their head in their hands, trying to just breath. Was trying to paint even worth it? Or would they have a panic attack halfway through and just end up making the problem worse? Were they just doomed to suffer through this loop of terror and dread until it swallowed them whole and left nothing behind?

“Pip? Are you here?” The familiar voice called out. Relief pushed away the lingering fear and they looked towards the direction Roman’s voice had come. It was a reminder. They weren’t trapped anymore. Not under the researchers, not under the puppetry demon. It wasn’t perfect, but it was an improvement. A start.

“Yeah. I’m here.”

Why didn't Pip tell Roman, that the guy they bumped into was the demon who posessed them?

The first time they bumped into him (while still in the Institute) they didn't realize it was him, the second time (out on the street) they didn't tell Roman right then because seeing Jacob kinda brought everything up and they just didn't wanna talk about it

I could imagine them either having told him right after that audio or keeping it to themself, so it's kinda up to you!

it's time for wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff! (Aka it's time for Roman Headcanons!)

First Headcanon, (I don't know if this really counts as a headcanon... but..) despite how mischievous he appears to be typically... i think Roman definitely has had moments where he is very sweet (and possibly romantic... though that just depends on how you picture Roman & Pip's "Friendship"/"Relationship"... ...personally i ship them...)

Second Headcanon, (It's not completely confirmed where Roman and possibly Pip are staying currently (since in the recent experiment log all we heard about the location was the word "Abandoned" I think...) soo...) I like to imagine they'll staying in a Abandoned warehouse of some kind (because come on.. you can't tell Roman and Pip aren't the type who would totally stay in Abandoned warehouse...)

Third Headcanon, (I've never really personally watched it... but..) I don't know why but I can totally picture Roman watching Doctor Who... (either he really likes it or he just watches it to make fun of it... that I will leave up to you...)

Fourth Headcanon, (more to do with my mental image of Roman... but..) I like to imagine Roman's hair has grown quite a bit longer since he hasn't been able to properly cut it... (then again... some do say hair carries memories soo maybe Roman is holding on to something from the past...)

Fifth Headcanon, (slightly inspired by the events of the first experiment log also slightly a Pip Headcanon... but..) I imagine Roman now gets slightly anxiety/panic attacks at times due to past events... and Pip does try to help him (though they aren't really good at these types of situations, they've definitely gotten better at helping...)

Sixth Headcanon, Roman definitely gives me the vibes of someone who can't choose if he likes cats or dogs.. (or even birds... he would rather just take the whole zoo then choose...)

Seventh Headcanon, (slightly also a Cyril Headcanon... but..) I definitely think Roman has at least once did the classic whoopee cushion or glitter bomb prank on Mr elfy boy...

Eighth Headcanon, (more of a funny one... but..) I like to imagine Roman really liked learning about history back when he was growing up... (which is ironic because of his name and how his life is now... XD)

Ninth Headcanon, I like to imagine Roman is the type of person where if you know him good enough he is very much a hug person/a cuddle bug (I just imagine there was a time where Roman tried to hug Cyril and learned the hard way of why not to do that again....never underestimate the elfy boy....)

Tenth Headcanon, Don't know why but Roman just gives the vibes of that kind of person who carries around gum with him... (I like to imagine that he occasionally chews some gum to help him either think or relax but besides that he just has gum...)

Bonus Headcanon, Roman definitely was the kind of kid growing up who would take a bunch of different things (for example, soap, shampoo and etc) and would mix it all up like they were making a potion of some kind...

Hand Holding HCs pt 2 - Reverie Audios

Casey: Honey is more likely to start it intentionally. He's clammy and nervous at times and despite the teasing they do want him to have comfort with them as well. During dates Casey may accidentally start it but Honey doesn't let go, tugging him along gently to say they are okay with the gesture. It relaxes him, having that certainty given to him, as if permission to just live in the moment rather than worrying about whats to come or what people may think. Cyril: I've already done a thing on hand holding with them, but here's some new thoughts on their life at work. Cyril isn't big on open displays of affection, his private life is his and he doesn't feel his coworkers need to know about what goes on outside of it. That's not to say the Rival doesn't test the limits. When walking down the halls together, discussing their projects, or maybe plans after work, they walk close, and hold pinkies. It's small and hard to notice if not looking for it, and easy for one of them to pull away if they need to separate, but it's also a little gesture showing they want the other close. Roman: This one was hard I guess it mostly depends on the point in time/mood? Early Roman in higher spirits, def the type to initiate it. He'd be cheeky about it, maybe walking through the gardens with Pip as he talked about one of his grand time traveling adventures, maybe one completely blown out of proportion or made up just to see them laugh. As we get to more serious and scared, Pip is the one to take his in comfort, maybe bring it to hold in both of their hands as they hold it to their chest to feel their heartbeat, something soothing and sweet in hopes of easing his tired and troubled mind. After the last audio it's equal. They have each other and that's what matters most. If stood near each other, they seek the other's hand, as a way to know that no matter what- they know the other is with them; Something solid to hold onto in a mess of a world that's trying to bring them down. Jacob: In some of the many forgotten memories of Dearest, there is a Jacob that took them on an outing or a date. He was sweet and charismatic, much like the day they first met over the coffee incident. He was their knight in shiny armor that day. Jacob is the one to initiate it, having memories of the original Jacob doing these things with his partner, testing the waters and chasing the feelings he didn't quite know how to place. When he was gentle it made asking questions and digging for answers a little bit easier, Dearest not feeling so guarded and scared, maybe a few things slipped out that shouldn't, so he tried this a few different times without much luck digging deeper, their hand in his be it walking through a mall or across the table at a restaurant. It intrigued him how such a simple touch could stir such a difference in how they reacted. After he gets his core back, he's still the one to initiate it, but Dearest doesn't react so kindly to it anymore. They flinch at his touch, and it amuses him. It's the same gesture as all those other times, it was still him, but as he clasped around their hand tighter, not enough to hurt them, but to keep them with him, he could feel all the muscles in their hand tense, hear their breathing turn sharp. I'm iffy on Marlowe atm so might do a thing for him later when I know him better. Bonus: Nathaniel: Subject 328 made it back? Well that's fantastic- but they aren't going to be holding anyone's hand right now, they're a bit... tied up at the moment. That's okay though, Nathniel can hold their hand if they really want him to while he coaxes out whatever they can remember from their journey!

Puppetry demon Headcanons– Pip's Institute file (don't know why but I want to do this..)

Name: ???? (They prefer the name "Pip"),

Age: Unknown

Reason for at institute: Puppetry Demon possession,

Family: Unknown,

Friends: None (Researcher Cyril and Researcher Roman are their friends...)

"From the information we have gathered so far, This "Pip" (as they seem to call themselves...) was the victim of a puppetry demon (more like a toy.. but sure go with "victim".... makes me seem like a villian even though i just wanted to play~) We do not know of the reasons for the possession... it seems this "Pip" does not recall that information.. (So maybe I might have messed up their brain more than I thought how enjoyable~) but by what information this "Pip" has given to us... we can assume this puppetry demon merely wanted a "toy" as this "Pip" claimed though we find that hard to believe... (aww does that mean that they don't believe all the games we played?... hehe well maybe I should show these researchers how it feels to be toyed with..) this "Pip" also claims to have nightmares though they refuse to give further information about them.... ..."Researcher" Roman (ooo it's the time boy...) seems to believe this "Pip" does truly have nightmares but I don't trust a word out of that guy's mouth.... (rude... such a rude researcher, the time boy did nothing wrong to deserve that....I think....) for now this is the most information that we have collected.... so I shall leave it here and this file will updated as so as we get more information (or possibly destroyed...) -Researcher K signing off- (I shall leave as well, but I recommend you watch your backs~)"

Pip Headcanons! (It's time to revisit our listeners...)

First Headcanon, (this more to do with how I picture Pip in my mind but...) I totally imagine Pip having light blue hair... maybe that's one of the things that drew Roman to them.... (ok my brain just added to this Headcanon and made it even more funny... sooo) nobody knows how Pip can still dye their hair even though they're at the institute... the researchers have tried looking everywhere for the hair dye but no one can find it... (XD)

Second Headcanon, I like to imagine Pip has only met/seen Rival/Dove once and somehow instantly knew that Rival/Dove and Cyril were together despite the fact that Cyril never mentioned anything about Rival/Dove (I don't know why my brain making Pip like this but I'm just rolling with it…)

Third Headcanon, (this is slightly dark.. but..) so we know Pip was kidnapped/taken control of by a puppetry demon and that's why they end up at institute (at least that's what I remember... and everytime I think of puppets, I think of the ones controlled by strings soo...) I imagine Pip has marks on their arms from the strings the puppetry demon used... (and... i'm just gonna move on now... this got dark quick... i need to save this dark energy for when I do the Jacob Headcanons... he's meant to be the spooky boy…)

Fourth Headcanon, (slightly also a Roman Headcanon.. but..) Pip totally has used some of their hair dye to dye a streak in Roman's hair (After Roman gave them permission to of course..)

Fifth Headcanon, ya know despite my previous Headcanons about Pip just knowing random things... I also imagine Pip is the type of person who would probably forget/misplace their own head if it wasn't attached to them... (maybe that's a possible side effect of being a puppetry demon's "puppet")

Sixth Headcanon, (slightly also a Roman Headcanon.. but..) I totally imagine Pip and Roman now cuddle each other to help one another fall asleep... (both of them probably need sleep after what they've been through…)

Seventh Headcanon, Pip definitely has snuck into the institute's library/records to learn about puppetry demons.. (they strangely want to know more about them... even despite what they've been through... it's odd totally normal…)

Eighth Headcanon, (this is slightly dark and more about the side effects of the puppetry demon... but..) I think it was mentioned how Pip has nightmares because of the puppetry demon (though I could be remembering that wrong..) but I imagine the nightmares Pip has somewhat are different each time but one nightmare that they've had multiple times is where Pip is on a stage... they look down and see their body is like that of a wooden puppet attached to a bunch of strings while the laughter of the puppetry demon can be heard all around... (geez... ok... that got dark quick... im just gonna move on!)

Ninth Headcanon, (slightly also a Roman and Cyril Headcanon) but I totally imagine that Roman has let Pip in on a experiment and the experiment went slightly wrong and Roman's lab was a mess and Cyril (or another person) scolded them for it…

Tenth Headcanon, Pip really likes blue orchids... (I think if Pip had access to some blue orchids, they would totally give some to Roman as a gift ^^)
