Now, truth be told, my OC creations and myself are not a fan of drawing 'Ballerinas' and 'Mermaids' in our whole lives, even my A-Pal Bryan360 and his entire OCs wasn't a fan of drawing of the aforementioned two activity roles, either. ☝️😮 But, since were friends with ShadowRamcat/CarmenRamcat, we could say "if you can't beat them join them". And thus, that. 🤷‍♀️ Now, what about her Winter Clothing? 🤔 That, I so interested! 😊🤗 Yes, I said her 'Winter Clothing' because, while her 'Autumn Clothing' was an interesting as Shadow R.'s A/W Clothing, my eyes on her comfy 'Winter Clothing'! ❄️🧣🧥🥰🤗 Which first I saw her on Feb 2021 💘, I immediately liked her comfort style. 2023-2024 Asian Lantern Festival

From Nov. 16, 2023, to January 14, 2024, the Chattanooga Zoo will keep its doors open after-hours for its second-ever Asian Lantern Festival. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night of the festival, attendees will take an evening tour of the Chattanooga Zoo with a large collection of stunning lanterns, games and moving, interactive displays to light the way.

“This event helps bring our community together to make unforgettable memories while also inspiring a deeper appreciation of animals and our natural world,” said Darde Long, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Zoo. “This year, to create a newly enchanting experience for our patrons, we’ve updated the displays to feature an entirely new collection of lanterns that showcase Chinese culture, a winter wonderland, a variety of undersea life and, of course, our beloved zoo animals.”

The lanterns, which took over a month to construct and span the entire zoo property, feature large displays of butterflies, holiday lights, a wide variety of animals, a giant crab, a dragon that’s 30 feet tall and much more.

Additionally, Santa Claus will visit the festival and take pictures with attendees at no additional cost on Dec. 15, 16, 22 and 23. For closing weekend, Jan. 13-14, The Pop-up Project will present an interactive performance across the Zoo grounds including dancers, live music and aerialists.

This year’s newly revamped Asian Lantern Festival is supported by Chick-fil-A of Chattanooga, the presenting sponsor. 

The festival occurs Wednesday through Sunday each week until its final night on January 14, 2024. The festival is open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each night.

Tickets are available at chattzoo.org/events/alf-2023. General Zoo admission tickets are not required, only an Asian Lantern Festival ticket is required for entry. Additionally, Asian Lantern Festival tickets do not grant general admission to the Zoo throughout the day.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Chairs Marathon Meeting in P&D Board to Decide on Various Development Projects Across Punjab

LAHORE, 19 September 2024:

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a marathon six-and-a-half-hours review meeting being held in the Planning and Development Board in which important decisions were made about education, health, agriculture, livestock roads and other sectors. Under CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif's ‘Suthra Punjab’ program, the largest comprehensive sanitation system in the history of Pakistan will be implemented from mid-November. The launching of ‘Suthra Punjab’ will be started in 100 tehsils of Punjab by 15-October. In two weeks, the cleaning process will be started in 100 tehsils under the outsourced model. Under the second phase of ‘Suthra Punjab’, the cleaning process will also be started in 34 more tehsils from November 15. Approval for Chief Minister Fund for Solar Panel Production and Manufacturing was granted for local production of solar panels in Punjab. In November, people will start getting solar panels under the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s program. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to complete Pakistan's first official autism school project in Lahore within one year.

In the meeting, 482 schemes of construction and repair of 11 thousand km roads in Punjab were reviewed. Revamping of 581 primary health centres of South Punjab has started and the target of completion has been set by next January. Proposals for health screening of students and establishment of thalassemia centre were also reviewed. The Chief Minister directed to ensure cleanliness in the hospitals acorss Punjab. She directed to undertake immediate steps for the construction of Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Institute Sargodha and Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital. She directed to ensure cardiology treatment facilities in every city.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif sought a deadline for the police body cam program. 11000 cattle will be given to women in the villages of 17 districts at a cost of Rs. 2 billion. Punjab's first livestock card for farmers will be launched next month. 20,000 farmers will be able to get food, medicine and equipment etc. through the Farmer Livestock Card.

In the meeting, agroforestry project was approved on government waste land under which onions, potatoes and olives etc. will be cultivated. It was decided to conduct a wildlife census for the first time in Punjab for the wildlife protection. The launch of "eco-tourism" project in Changa Manga and the proposal to build the first model fish market of the province in Lahore were reviewed. It was agreed to form a ‘Shrimp Farming Export Company’. A briefing was given about the shrimp pilot experimental farm on 100 acres in Muzaffargarh. A principle approval was given to establish a ‘Special Directorate’ for shrimp farming. It was also approved to increase the area for shrimp farming to 50 thousand acres along with conducting farmer training and establishing value added chain. Approval was given to establish hatcheries for Pangasius and other fish species in Lahore and DG Khan.

In the briefing, it was informed that ‘Plant for Pakistan’ is being monitored by drones. A ‘body cam pilot project’ has been launched in Sheikhupura with 30 cameras. The deadline for the completion of the second phase of ‘Smart Safe City’ has been set for next March. Monitoring of entrances and exits, free Wi-Fi, pink buttons have also become functional in Sheikhupura.

The Chief Minister directed to increase the number of cameras in all cities as per need. In the meeting, it was approved to start ‘Dastak’ services in 9 more districts of Punjab and for the issuance of ‘carbon credit scheme’ for the first time in Punjab. A project of demarcation of smog area through ‘Geographic Information System’ mapping will also be launched. A detailed briefing was given on Laptop Scheme, Undergraduate Scholarship program. The CM directed to ensure payment of fees for talented children. She approved the establishment of Punjab's first ‘film fund’.

The CM directed to undertake steps to provide employment for the first batch being passed out under ‘CM Skills Development Initiative’. CM Punjab ordered the early completion of metro track for all cities. A briefing was given on Margalla to Jhika Gali Tourist Glass Train Project. 3D footage of ‘Model Agriculture Mall’ was presented. Approval for a uniform design for Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha and Sahiwal was given.

It was informed during the briefing that more than 35 thousand farmers have received Kisan cards in Punjab. It was decided to solarize 7500 tubewells in the first phase in Punjab and it was agreed to complete it by next June. It was decided to implement the Chief Minister Agriculture Graduate Program in the concerned Union Council. Measures to increase export of agricultural produce along with utilizing government land to increase canola cultivation in Punjab were reviewed. Approval for design and other aspects of the first phase 9500 green tractor were given. Green tractor will not be sold due to certain features, colour and number and March 31st deadline has been fixed.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to undertake measures for the construction of airstrip for air ambulance landing along with carrying out mapping to ascertain the need for rescue services. She directed to provide rescue ambulance service in every city after determining its need. The scope to further extend rescue training in universities and colleges was reviewed.

A comprehensive review on the progress of 7 programs, 70 projects, 77 Chief Minister's Initiatives and 770 Schemes was made in the meeting. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said, “Five years have been given to serve the people instead of holding processions. Alhamdulillah, Punjab is taking the lead in every sector.”

THE ARCADE - DEWSBURY

The Arcade in Dewsbury has been inhabited for many years now, but it is about to get a revamp and made into a new space. I thought this was a really interesting project. It has not been completed yet but looking into their process could really help me

On their about section of their website it reads:

"The listed Arcade, with its beautiful roof and ironwork is close to many Dewsbury hearts. Built in 1899, it was a popular town centre thoroughfare right through to 2014. A combination of falling town centre footfall, poor management and lack of investment by absentee owners, saw the Arcade empty out from 2011 and finally close in 2016

After considering all its options, in May 2020 the Council purchased the Arcade and as one of the lead projects in the ‘Dewsbury Blueprint’ is investing money in a full refurbishment.

The Arcade consists of 15 small shops, bookended by 4 larger units at the Market Place and Commercial Street ends of around 500 sq ft per floor. The shops are around 200 sq ft. There is a second floor running above the shops that will offer 9 studios that may be suitable for artists

The design team for the Arcade and Markets, BDP Architects, were appointed by the Council in January ’21 and the intention is that the Arcade opens in 2024.

The Arcade cannot be what it was. It cannot consist of shops relying on passing trade. We have to create reasons for people making a special trip – specialist shops (that probably have an online presence as well), culture, events, creative work etc. We also need to work with the Dewsbury Market team to make the town centre worth visiting again."

Reading this it shows that they understand that the current format that the arcade is in isn't working and it needs to change. I feel like this could be in a similar scenario to Bournemouth where the shops that are thriving are chains. I also like what they said about arcades being used as a walkway as they said the shops within it rely on passing trade. Instead you have to create reasons for people to come in.

Hong Kong Int. Airport Handled 71.5 Million Passengers in 2019

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 71.5 million passengers and 419,730 flight movements in 2019, decreases of 4.2% and 1.9% respectively, when compared to 2018. Total cargo throughput declined 6.1% year-on-year to 4.8 million tonnes. During the year, HKIA’s extensive air network expanded by 17 new destinations – including Beijing Daxing International Airport, Borg El Arab, Dover Cheswold, Doncaster, Guwahati, Hefei, Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Jieyang, Labuan, Nagasaki, Niigata, Phu Quoc, Puerto Princesa, Shimojishima, Yangzhou, Yekaterinburg and Yinchuan.

HKIA registered 33,990 flight movements in December 2019, an 8.4% year-on-year decrease. Passenger volume declined 12.5% to 5.7 million while cargo throughput decreased slightly by 1% to 443,000 tonnes compared to December 2018. Passenger volume continued to be affected by weak visitor traffic in December 2019. Passenger figures to and from Mainland China and Southeast Asia experienced the most significant decreases during the month. However, transfer / transit traffic and Hong Kong resident travel registered strong year-on-year growth of 14% and 9%, respectively. Exports saw a 3% year-on-year increase in December 2019 while imports and transshipments both remained weak. Amongst key trading regions, cargo exported to Europe, India and Japan contributed the most growth. Vivian Cheung, Executive Director of Airport Operations for the Airport Authority, said, “We went through a challenging year in 2019.
