So. As is common with fandoms and the characters we celebrate and enjoy, there's no doubt about reproductive organs being present and functional. BUT with Ruben...I think it should be said that given how severe his burns are - especially taking into account that his back is also one of the areas of the highest surface area and burn depth and looks similar to his pelvis/lower abdomen - Ruben is likely very impotent. Now, yes, he clearly went through changes, and his voice deepened, I'm not saying he didn't go through puberty, just that he likely has severe complications reproductively (and cosmetic). This is obviously a super unpopular opinion/analysis, and objectively speaking, as horrible as it is to say, it lowers his "value"/"desirability". Because people like d*ck a lot—I'm not sorry, this is just a fact. Accuracy isn't important to a lot of fans since it comes into conflict with what people are attracted to and want, but in any case, I love Ruben regardless of his plumbing. Sure, I'll still draw him being uh. "Reproductively gay", shall we say, because it's easier and I'm lazy, but I just wanted to point this out. I've done reading in the past for the sake of informing myself on the matter, and it is well-documented for men with severe burn injuries to have injuries in that area, too. Given how men are more exposed and such organs are external and therefore vulnerable to damage, it's unlikely that Ruben didn't get mangled down there, and yes, it's terrible. But I would imagine that with Ruben's personality type and how focused he is, he doesn't care about that aspect of himself. Just what he can do to elevate his research and reunite with Laura. Also, there might be a few fans who are in favour of Ruben being acknowledged as pretty much...asexual— or just with complete medical honesty about his condition. So this is for you guys if you exist! Edit: I probably shouldn't assume/make hard judgments too much on how Ruben would feel about being in such a state since it's just another part of himself that is deprived of a "human" quality or trait. And I haven't read up on how impotence and related problems impact people psychologically when their parts are disfigured/functionally limited... Isabel Dias was the sun in yours and Rúben’s lives. She was such a cute little girl, with light brown hair just like her dad had when he was a baby, and the biggest, roundest Y/E/C eyes. She had the same soft look her father had in his brown orbs, and her kindness showed even through her simple actions. She wasn’t even one yet, and you all were completely smitten with her.

 Isabel was born last year on the 25th of July, and she indeed was a little Leo girl. She had a strong personality and she was a natural leader, you could already tell as she bossed her dad and uncle around; but that was probably too easy even for her, because Rúben and Ivan fought most of the time to gain her attention. Of course it wasn’t the first time they saw her, they were in Manchester with you when Isa was born, but it would always be something special to see them reunite, to see Isabel bond with them and get acquainted with her portuguese roots.

 “When did she get so big??” Rúben murmured as he looked at your daughter laughing, as his father tickled her belly.

 “I was wondering the same thing really,” you said, leaning your head against his shoulder, “she looks so at ease with them.”

 “She does!” he agreed, “I wouldn’t want to sound too eager but… do you know what that means?”

It felt like you didn’t have a proper date night in forever, between his job and his full working schedule, and the little girl that was still giggling in her grandpa’s arms; the two of you were living off little moments snatched here and there when Rúben was home and Isa was asleep peacefully in her crib.

 “It does,” he assured, winking at you, “we could even go tonight if you feel like it, I’m sure my parents won’t mind having Isa with them on her first night here… and there’s Ivan too with them, in case they’d need a hand…”

 “Yeah, yeah that would be the perfect way to start our holiday!” you nodded enthusiastically, before a giant yawn escaped your lips, “Might have to take a nap before we go though…”

 “Sounds like a plan…” you sleepily smiled at him, intertwining your hand with his bigger one and lacing your fingers together, walking behind Rúben’s parents and watching Isa play with her grandma’s hair.

 “Don’t hurt your nana princess.” Rúben warned Isabel as he watched her every move.

 “Oh don’t worry Rúben, she’s just playing, she won’t hurt me I’m sure…” his mother smiled softly at him, loving her son’s caring side.

 “When we’re home I’ll give you all the cuddles in the world little one, now be good to your mum, because she’s tired okay?” Rúben talked to Isa as you walked side by side, and the little girl in your arms was listening to every word he was saying nodding her head as she wrapped her arms around your neck.

 Luckily it didn’t take long for you all to get to the house you rented for your holidays; you didn’t know if it was because you were tired or because you couldn’t wait to get there, but as soon as you stepped inside you fell in love with the place. You were surrounded by white walls and furniture, the wooden floor was a stark contrast to the light colors of the house, but the giant windows enlightened perfectly the space around you. The house was perfect, it was like you always imagined a house in Algarve would be; and you couldn’t wait to spend the whole summer there.

 “Do you like it?” Rúben asked you as he left the bags by the door.

 “I knew you would, that’s why I chose this house…” he hugged you and kissed your cheek tenderly, before he pecked Isa’s cheek too as she was still in your arms.

 “Do you know how much I love you??” you turned your face towards him, and bumped your nose with his while you looked him straight in the eyes.

 “Not more than I love you for sure…” he murmured, almost as if he was out of breath, before he kissed you softly, lovingly on your lips.

 That sweet moment between the two of you was cut short by two little hands pushing your faces apart; Isa was looking at you two with a frown on her face, before she dived her head in between yours and Rúben’s faces, in a clear signal she was the one who wanted all the kisses to herself.

 “You’re right baby girl, I promised you cuddles, and cuddles it is!” your boyfriend said, circling both you and Isa with his arms and pressing countless kisses on both of your faces.

 Once the first cuddles session of the day was over and after you had your lunch, it was time for Rúben to show you what would have been your room for the holidays. As soon as he opened the door, your jaw fell to the floor; you put Isabel down to let her crawl around and explore the room, while you couldn’t believe the beauty you were seeing. The room was full of light, coming from the big windows that were right in front of the bed; a king sized bed, with delicate white linen sheets and what looked like the most comfortable satin cushions, was at your right as you made a few steps in the room in awe of what you were seeing in front of you: the most beautiful view appeared before your eyes, as you stood in front of the window walls.

 After Rúben made sure that Isabel was peacefully sleeping in her crib, finally taking her nap, he walked up behind you, taking his hands out of his shorts’ pockets to rest them on your hips.

 “It’s beautiful isn’t it?” he asked you, referring to the ocean view that was displayed in front of your eyes.

 “It is, I-I’m speechless…” you stuttered as you put your hands on top of his that were still on your waist.

 “I can tell,” Rúben half laughed in your neck, as he pressed kisses here and there on your soft skin, “do you wanna lay down for a bit? We could enjoy the view even from our bed amor...”

 “Yeah, I could definitely use some rest…” you whispered as you leant your head back against his chest, closing your eyes as you relished in the feeling of Rúben’s loving touch.

 As soon as he heard your words he took you in his strong arms and carried you to bed, gently laying you down before he laid down beside you; he then opened his arms and patted his chest with his hand, inviting you to lay your head on him. And that’s exactly what you did, you curled up against his body, resting your head on his chest that was barely covered by his tank top; Rúben circled your waist with his arms once again, while he left feather light kisses in your hair, and gently lulling you to sleep.

 He acknowledged he fell asleep too, only when Isabel started babbling in her crib, waking him up. He never was a light sleeper, but since your daughter was born it was like he had an instinct that told him when she would need him.

 When he turned his head towards Isa’s crib, after he opened his eyes, he saw her smiling at him and he felt like his heart was going to burst of happiness. He slowly unwrapped his arms from around you, and kissed the tip of your nose while he removed some strands of hair that had fallen before your eyes; he then got out of bed, shaking his arms that had fallen asleep after they held you in the same position for probably too long. He covered you up with a comforter, thinking you’d need something to stay warm, seen as you would always rely on him to keep you warm, even during summer times.

 “Olá bebezinha…” he murmured to Isabel, as she started to jump on her legs, leaning with her hands on the crib’s edge, “Ohh looks like someone wants to get out of her bed now!” he breathed a laugh through his nose making Isabel giggle too, “Shhh little girl, we don’t want to wake mummy yet, do we?” Rúben took your daughter in his arms and smooched her face as she snuggled into his chest.

 After they had their faire share of cuddles once again, Isa pointed to the window wall, silently telling her dad that she wanted to stand closer to the window. Rúben laughed at that, thinking that she loved the sea probably as much as you did; he let Isabel stand on her chubby feet and guided her to stand in front of the window, taking small steps just like she did.

 He let her stand on her own, as she leaned her tiny hands against the glass while she looked out of the window. He watched her and laughed at her unknown words. Isabel was extremely curious, and she was so smart, Rúben wasn’t really surprised when he looked at her and saw her talking in her own language, while she moved her hands around to point at things, a habit she took from him nonetheless.

 “You like the sea hm? Your mummy likes it too…” he told Isabel, sweetly smiling at her as she smiled back at him. As if you heard them talk about you, you silently stirred in your sleep and slowly opened your eyes. You thought you were still dreaming as you observed Rúben and Isabel interact in front of the window; he was sat right beside her, looking at her with the most precious smile on his lips, watching how she was slowly discovering the world that was out of that window wall.

 Luckily for you, your phone was laying on the bed right beside you, and you could grab it without them noticing; you couldn’t resist the urge to take a picture of them, as you wanted to capture that moment forever. You snapped countless pictures of the two of them; after you did that, you locked your phone and placed it on the bed once again to watch them and how they were engrossed in each other.

  “You know how we call it here? We call it mar.” you heard Rúben whisper to Isabel, while he observed how her facial features showed concentration as she was attentively listening to her dad’s words.

 “M-mar?” the word came tentatively out of Isabel’s mouth while she looked out of the window once again.

 “Yeah, yeah baby it’s- wait what??” Rúben’s head snapped in his daughter’s direction, as he looked at her with wide eyes.

 “Mar!” Isabel replied, giggling this time as she found her father’s face amusing.

 “Rúben did she just say her first word???” you shot up to seat on the bed, immediately getting out of it to reach your boyfriend and daughter to fully live that moment with them.

 “I-I think she did!” he replied, still seemingly shocked by his daughter saying her first word.

 “Isa can you say it again?” you softly asked her as you sat in Rúben’s lap, gently caressing her hair.

 She looked at you for a moment, but when she didn’t say a word you thought she was never going to tell that word to anybody that wasn’t her father, she was a daddy’s girl after all and that wasn’t a mystery. That was until she climbed up your legs to sit on your lap, and after you cradled her against your chest, Isabel pointed her little finger to the endless stretch of blue water and said “Mar!”

 “Oh my God! Yes! Yes sweetheart, mar! That’s the sea!” you smiled the biggest you could as you heard her speak her first word once again, “You’re so smart little one, such a good girl!” you praised her as Rúben watched the two of you, with his chin leaning on your shoulder from behind and the purest smile ever on his face.

 “Looks like I won the bet then…” Rúben murmured in your ear, smirking as he thought back at the bet you two made: you bet Isabel’s first word would have been an English one, while Rúben had a feeling her first word would have been a Portuguese one, ‘pai’ to be precise as he secretly hoped she would have called him ‘dad’ in his mother tongue. And apparently his gut instinct was right, even if the word wasn’t what he imagined it would be.

 “Apparently you did…” you said as you leaned your head against him, to let him press a few kisses down your jaw, “But still, she didn’t say ‘pai’.” you sniggered as you made fun of him.

 “What do you say about making another bet then?” he lowered his voice almost to a growl as he asked you his question.

 “Another? Babe you’ve literally just won this one!” you laughed as you watched Isabel crawl around the room once again.

 “Yes, that’s your price to pay for losing. You have to bet against me another time…” he said as his kisses were going down your neck now, making goosebumps appear on your skin.

 “What do you wanna bet on then?” you said, almost out of breath.

 “I bet that even if Isa didn’t call me ‘pai’ yet,” his breath fanned against your heated skin as he spoke, before you felt his lips brush against your shoulder as he continued, “You’ll call me ‘daddy’ after our date, tonight, when it’s only me and you…”

 “I’ll never let you win twice in a day Dias.” you smirked as you looked at him over your shoulder.

 “Looks like we have a deal then.” he said, tightening his hold on your hips.

 “Deal.”

Haikyuu!! SPOILERS: Chapter 401, How We Connect the Dots.

**PENULTIMATE SPOILERS BELOW**

I just posted a video with my live reactions to the chapter, but here are my highlights, because FURUDATE YOU MADMAN GENIUS. This chapter connected so much together. So, let’s do:

My Top 10 Thoughts on Haikyuu!! Chapter 401:

10. Of course. In true Furudate fashion, he has Kageyama block the spike from Hinata, BUT, what Kageyama doesn’t realize is all the training on the beach Shoyo has done to prepare for such a moment. And that heel kick! *swoons* Also, someone reacting to Season 4, Episode 9 of the anime, where Hinata kicks the ball back to himself called this happening all those months ago...Furudate is next level at foreshadowing. Not that we didn’t already know that.

9. Hey, remember how in the VERY FIRST chapter of Haikyuu!! Shoyo did this crazy run across the court to score? Yeah, Furudate knows we remember. And he pulls this -- and Kageyama’s beautiful reaction, only for --

-- Only for it to all be a DECOY. Kageyama, you made this monster, you know. I love that Shoyo has come all this way from wanting to score all the points to accepting that the decoy DOES have a vital role to play, and in this instance, it’s allowing Bokuto to score the winning point for the MSBY Black Jackals. Just look at that smile! And of course, Tanaka and Asahi KNOW the power of Hinata as a Decoy...because they’ve been in Bokuto’s shoes before. 

8. UGH, the aftermath of that moment is glorious, which will detail down below -- but I love Shoyo and Kageyama’s interaction, though. How they’re still keeping track of each other’s wins and losses, exhausting Miya, hilariously, and showing that they’re on equal footing now, after all these years. This chapter is just cementing the last several chapters’ worth of character development. 

7. ARE YOU SHIPPERS READY FOR YOUR FOOD?!

Because these next few pages were healing my shipper heart. I mean, yes, the Kagehina fanbase is raving right now, but let’s talk about THESE ships below, starting with:

Tsukishima x Yamaguchi:

So, Tsukishima, of course, is not sappy about any of this and just points out how the season’s just getting started (ready the fanfics, y’all). 

And of course, Yamaguchi wants to watch Tsuki play! Yachi says she’ll come too! I LOVE how just like he was with Akiteru, he doesn’t want them to come watch (even though we all know he’ll love it when they’re there). Now, some people have commented that Yamaguchi could be with Yachi, but y’all...Yachi is in Tokyo. Yamaguchi and Tsuki both live in Miyagi. I can’t wait for all the Sendai Frog/TsukiYama fanfics!

If you’re looking for an extra Kagehina crumble, just look at the end of this adorable exchange between Romero, smol adorable Rubens, and Shoyo (who perfectly crouches down to talk to him MY HEART I CAN’T), to see Kageyama notice that Shoyo can speak multiple languages...oh, honey! If only you know about Hinata and Pedro’s marathons of DBZ in Portugese and English! ^^

Also, Furudate WE SEE YOU. We see you being meta and implying that now Haikyuu!! is over, he’s moving on...Akaashi’s line about going forward hit me hard...it’s like he’s telling us, the fandom, that going on to start something new isn’t so bad. SO YOU SAY. 

BOKUAKA NATION -- WE CANON NOW, RIGHT?!

I love that Akaashi gets to interview Bokuto (IS HE GOING TO BE THE STAR of the Volleyball manga Tenma Udai is writing?! He would be PERFECT for it!) and how happy Akaashi looks, even if he and Bokuto realize how differently they view the term “normal.” 

ALSO, it’s implied above that Akaashi, Bokuto, and Tenma were going out for drinks...which now....we know that it’s just Bokuto and Akaashi, since Tenma was going home. Uhm, FAN FIC WRITERS ASSEMBLE!

I also love that Udai joins the club, along with Fukurodani’s coach and manager, of people who realize that Bokuto and Akaashi are weirdos but they are weirdos together, so it’s fine. 

Keeping the “Ship Train” going, we get little bits of Shimizu x Yachi from the bathhouse before the Inarizaki Match, where Kiyoko finally acknowledges she is okay showing her legs...thanks to Yachi’s words. I also find Suga wanting to know “the tea” on the situation to be adorable. 

AND FINALLY, YES, Y’ALL:

I was spoiled with Kuroo’s return, but seriously, Furudate, you saved him for the end here so INTENTIONALLY. 

Because OF COURSE Kuroo would work for the JVA. As a promoter. CONNECTING people...with Volleyball...because that’s the Nekoma way.

And FURUDATE ARE YOU SUGGESTING TO US THAT KUROO AND KENMA ARE BUSINESS PARTNERS AND COLLABORATORS BECAUSE MY KUROKEN HEART IS SOARING -- 

-- and let it be known Atsumu Miya rightfully doesn’t trust Kuroo, and neither does Sakusa. A nice SakuAtsu crumb where we actually see Sakusa agree with Miya without sacrasm or question! Poor Shoyo is a salesman’s dream, though. I mean, Kuroo does look a little sketchy in some of those shots...BUT....

6. Kuroo’s speech about sports was SO fitting. Seriously, everything he says here is BASICALLY what makes Haikyuu!! such a great series. I DID laugh out loud at the line about “hardly anybody dies.”

5. It’s taken us the ENTIRE series, but Kageyama finally talks to Kindaichi and Kunimi. This was so heartwarming, seeing Kageyama wanting to play WITH THEM. AS A TEAM. This made my heart expand three sizes. The character development on Kageyama, and Kindaichi, is through the roof.

I also LOVE Kunimi the most in these panels. Kunimi is a MOOD. 

Y’ALL. I’VE WAITED 400 CHAPTERS FOR THIS PANEL OF THESE THREE HAPPY AND BECOMING FRIENDS AGAIN.

4. I love that Hoshiumi doesn’t see Hinata as a Rival, but as someone that is going to help him show the rest of the world the strength of someone who doesn’t have height. I also find it interesting that we see the Japanese Olympic Coach walking out just as Hoshiumi gives us that beautiful gaze. So...does Hoshiumi know he’s going to be on the Olympic team, with Hinata, maybe? Foreshadowing, perhaps?

3. Okay, okay, I held it together until this page. 

It wasn’t Ushijima’s panel with Washijo that got me.

It wasn’t Saeko and Akane reuniting, though that was sweet. 

It wasn’t the three “Pure Captains” reuniting, though it made my heart happy.

It honestly wasn’t the five first years together, either. They’re all so happy and having a laugh at Kageyama’s expense, and as beautiful as that panel is.

SUGAWARA IN LINE TO GET KAGEYAMA’S AUTOGRAPH.

That is what got me. 

Him in line, so meekly, to get the autograph of his kouhai, the man Suga joked would have to tell about how much he learned from HIM when he was giving out interviews and autographs...I just...Sugawara made me cry. That is all. 

2. Then there’s this last page. 2021. 

"We overcame difficulties and stand here.”

Furudate really said “screw you” to Covid messing up the timeline.

Yes, seeing Kageyama and Hinata in their original jersey numbers was amazing, but I think we all saw that coming if these two happened to get on the Olympic team. 

What I want to focus on are the two countries we see included in the bottom corner here. We see: 

Brazil -- and some fluffy haired man carrying the flag for the team.

And we see the United States -- there’s several American Flags and stars and stripes on the shirts of the crowd, there.

SO, HEADCANON TIME: 

* Oikawa was on the Argentinean League, so could he play for Brazil? It’s not likely, but not impossible....BUT, I don’t think that’s it.

I don’t think Oikawa is on Japan’s National Team for the Olympics.

If he is on the Olympic Team, I think he’ll be on America’s. 

Why? Because, and this could be because I’m the biggest IwaOi shipper, but Iwaizumi was still in the United States with Ushijima’s father at the end of Chapter 395. And if he’s still there, there is no reason why Iwaizumi couldn’t be a physical trainer alongside Ushijima’s father for the U.S. Olympic team. And why wouldn’t Oikawa trek over to the States to be on the same team as Iwa-Chan’s working with? I’m probably wrong, BUT -- 

We also still need to see Seijoh’s banner, and as others have theorized, how fitting would it be to see Hinata, Kageyama, and (probably) Ushijima on the team facing Oikawa? I just....I’m betting money that Oikawa shows up in 402. I hope we at least see him on the Olympic Stage. OIKAWA DESERVES IT. 

1. So, who are we missing that hasn’t been shown yet?

We still need to see the rest of Nekoma (Lev, Yaku, Yamamoto, Kai....could they be in the stands or on the Japan team? I guess we’ll find out!)

We haven’t seen Daishou and Mika -- I would love to see them watching or narrating in the audience during the Olympic game.

And finally, yes, we’ve seen Tendo in the Chapter 395 flashback, but we’ve never seen what he’s DOING. Furudate has shown us with every character what they’ve been doing since the timeskip....EXCEPT TENDO. I’m calling it that he’ll appear one more time next chapter, too.

So....guys....I’m staying off of Social Media from Wednesday to Sunday next week, to prep for the last chapter and not be spoiled. I’m going to do a live reaction for YouTube, and I’ll post it here. You can see the one I did for 401 now.

Character of the Day #0 (Intro)

Here are the Main Characters for Mae and the Kingdoms of Seasons!

Mae, the Titular Character

Mae is a young adult who struggles with severe anxiety. Because of her anxiety, she is selectively mute, and she can sign. She is adopted, and therefore is an only child which is unusual for Seiki. She has two moms, and is bisexual herself! Her best friend is Dolly, her mentor is Noble, and her partner is Joel.

Asha

Asha is a Seiki from the past era who had a fierce spirit. She swears the most out of any character and doesn't act very "lady-like," which she learned from her strong mother. Sexism was rampant at that time so her disposition was seen as inappropriate  for a girl. However, her outgoing personality made her extremely popular with her peers. She took shit from nobody, and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. When she met Thatcher, he sadly took those qualities out of her. She spent the entirety of her afterlife following her family tree down and searching for a way to make up her past mistakes. She passed down a letter explaining what really happened to Ruben, but nobody in her family took it seriously... until Mae.

Ruben

Ruben was a bright-eyed student who really loved learning. He was an only child just like Mae, except for him it was because his family was extremely poor and the rest of his parents' eggs didn't make it. He's neurodivergent and struggles in social situations, but he just really really wants friends. He's picked on a lot but doesn't often realize that he is, he'll talk to anybody to try and befriend them. He'll often brag about his good grades and intellect as a way to impress people and make them like him, but others usually find him annoying. He wanted to grow up to do something so great that everybody would love him. He's overwhelmed by his own feelings, feeling too happy or too sad burns him out and causes him to shut down. When he starts to feel 'too much' he'll hide his face in his scarf. he studied with the human because he thought it was a great idea and that he was going to help everybody. He never intended things to go so south.. and even when he was reformed he never intended to hurt anybody.

Joel

Joel is Mae's partner, and one of her closet friends! He is pansexual, and completely mute because he was born without vocal chords. He learned how to sign when he was in elementary school thanks to his twin brother, Jeremiah. He grew up in a horribly abusive household, his mother thought that the Gods were punishing her for giving her a mute child. She tried to get him to talk by hurting him, and disapproved of him signing. He has a scar under his headband from his mom, from when she pulled so hard on his antennae that one split open. She would verbally and physically abuse both of her kids as 'punishment' for being 'such a burden to her,' and her husband just went along with it not bothering to stop her. One night, when he was 12, she was so mad that she kicked him out of the house. He only was able to take one of his journals with him and some food scraps and spent a while wandering around the kingdom homeless. Eventually, he stumbled upon an old man who helped him build a small shack to live in. He then found Mae's middle school, and watched the kids go in and out for a few days until a teacher noticed him and brought him in as part of the class. He met Mae when she walked past his house one day, and when he signed to her she signed back. He had never met another person besides his brother that could sign before and he instantly started crushing on her. The two became close friends in high school, and Joel was pining for her hard the entire time. Mae returned his feelings, but they didn't get together until during her big journey. Joel is a writer! He's mainly a poet, but he's been writing ever since he was little and is what he does for his job. He wrote the book "Tales of Kingdoms Past," which was about the other three kingdoms and what they did during the 200 year gap in communication. Joel has serious trauma from his past but denies it. He just wants his mom to love him and believes it's because he wasn't good enough, and was his fault.

Dolly

Dolly is Mae's best friend! They've been super close since they met in kindergarten. Dolly comes from a wealthy, higher-class family that has 5 daughters, her being the oldest in the litter. She's super upbeat and easily excitable, and loves getting to know knew people. She's very popular in her school and is invited to a lot of things, but she always makes sure to spend time with Mae and stick by her side. Dolly's parents are neglectful despite their family's "perfect" appearance. Her dad wanted a son, so he doesn't give them the time of day, and her mother doesn't bother to get to know them and is always away. Her parents usually leave her money and then leave for a couple days. Dolly and her sisters constantly want their mom's attention, but because Dolly was born looking the most like her mom, she's the only one that gets the sliver of attention. This affection is superficial and meaningless, and leaves her feeling empty, but it causes intense jealously between her and her sisters, they don't get along well at all. Her mother always advised her daughters to marry someone rich like she did (which is an indicator of what her parents' relationship is like), and to always appear submissive and weak because guys are 'turned away from powerful women.' Because of this, Dolly always dated higher-class boys her weren't the nicest. Several of them would try to take advantage of her because they knew that her dad didn't care enough to go after them. She'd always break up with them within a few weeks or so, they weren't her type at all but she was only following her mom's advice. Dolly is a very talented seamstress and sketcher, and wanted to own her own boutique one day. However she never thought she could because her mother would tell her women shouldn't work. When she graduated she met Anthony and started dating him, and she was able to be herself around him. The two got married very quickly on a whim, and then immediately after accidentally made a litter of 7 babies.

Anthony

Anthony is Dolly's husband! He's very timid and has a slight stutter. He comes from a notoriously wealthy family that is known for their extremely successful sons. Their family consists of two litters, the first being of 4 boys, Noble being the oldest of them. These are the 4 sons that are so famous. The second litters is of all girls except for Anthony. His sisters are very successful too, but outsiders always forget about Anthony and don't recognize him. He's very smart and loves math, and studied outside of school to become a tax collector for the queen (in this kingdom, taxes are only for the rich). He loves his wife and kids very much, and loves making horrible math puns.

Noble

Noble is the Captain of the Royal Guard! He is also Mae's mentor, and is gay and autistic. He is close friends with Queen Dahlia. He's the strong quiet type, a man of few words. He's strict and knows how to command his men, not somebody you'd want to mess with, He's well respected for his skill and leadership. He was a prodigy, and started learning how to use a sword when he was three. He was mentored by the previous captain of the guard himself, September. When he was in middle school, he was allowed into the guard program early. He lived away from home in the guards quarters from then on. While he was growing up there he figured out he was gay, but the royal guard is generally full of unaccepting people. He worked hard and was chosen to become September's successor, being the kingdom's youngest captain. He values his reputation a lot, and is terrified of people finding out his sexuality. He eventually gets together with Jeremiah, and is outted to the guard by somebody.

Jeremiah

Jeremiah is Joel's older twin! He's quite poor, and lives in a worn down one-room house where he runs his business, "Jeremiah's Shipping and Deliveries." He delivers tools and building materials to those who request it. Jeremiah was the one that was left behind with his mom after Joel left. Growing up, he always tried to act as the tough one and would stand up for his little brother when he was picked on. He's also queer, liking both girls and boys, but heavily denied it. He always picked fights with others that he couldn't win, and was used to getting beat up. When Joel was gone, he became very lonely and even more self-destructive. He became more violent and did horribly in school, he became friends with his pervious bullies and got into a lot of trouble with them. When he was a sophomore his dad left, and he had to deal with his mother by himself. He inherited bipolar disorder from his mother but he doesn't know that. When it came time to graduate he left home and never looked back. He's an alcoholic, he drinks to numb his feelings. He sleeps around with girls all the time, only to feel loved for one night. All these things just leave him feeling worthless and empty. Eventually, he reunited with Joel after seeing the book his brother published. He loves Joel and Mae so much, and is afraid of messing up his relationship with them. He has horrible self-esteem and constantly worries that he only has a bad impact on others. Eventually he meets Noble, who helps him accept himself and starts dating him.

Dahlia

Dahlia is the current reigning queen of the Seiki Kingdom. She's close friends with Noble. It was her controversial decision to send Mae out on her journey, but she was pressured into making a hasty choice by her brother and royal advisor, Cedar. Dahlia is quiet and regal, and tries to keep her emotions to herself. The entire purpose of her birth was to become the next queen, so she never had the chance to be a child. From day one she was taken and raised to be the perfect ruler. She's constantly under the pressure of Cedar, who is mean to her behind closed doors. Later on, Cedar pressures her to make an heir with somebody since she's getting older. She chooses Vincent for that job, but the two actually fall in love and she appoints him as her and her newborns' official doctor so that she gets to see him again.

Thatcher

Thatcher..... is basically the worst person. He is one of the worst villains in this universe. He was Asha's husband in the past era. He's a sociopath and a misogynist, and very rich. He's albino, which makes many see him as unique and attractive. Thatcher is incredibly clever, and nows how to manipulate everyone around him into thinking he's great and can do no harm. In reality, he has a violent mind with dark desires. He's the kinda guy to fantasize about keeping a girl in his basement. He owns an expensive store that sells jewels and holiday items. He met Asha when she was about to leave on her holiday trip. He noticed how loud and outgoing she was, and he thought that it'd be fun to "break/tame" her and force her into the role that he thought a woman should have. He flirted with her that day, but she rejected him. He saw this as part of the fun and proceeded to stalk her for the rest of the day. The entire time she was gone, he never stopped thinking about her and what he wanted to do to her. When she came back in tears after Ruben was "killed," he used that chance to act as her shoulder to cry on and worm his way into her life. They started dating, even though she wasn't very into it. Her mother and her friends encouraged her to marry him because of his status within their community. She did, but once they were married shit hit the fan fast. Thatcher was abusive to her, he'd slowly add onto what he could get away with. He'd pressure her into intimacy, and eventually would force himself onto her. He wanted kids, so he forced her to have his. She tried avoiding it for a while by using contraception without his knowledge, but when he found out he started getting physically abusive. Eventually, Asha became a shell of who she once was. Thatcher succeeded in breaking her, her fighting spirit was gone and she was quiet and numb. When their kids were four, Asha took her own life. Thatcher had pushed her too far. The loss of his wife was Thatcher's biggest regret, he couldn't take that back. But to him it wasn't the loss of his love, it was the loss of his favorite toy. He tried to regain his pride by manipulating his kids into believing that their mother passed because she didn't love them.

Verity

Verity is the current reigning queen of the Kitsuga kingdom! She was a strong warrior and leader, but her life was changed forever when the plague attacked. When Ruben's plague got to her kingdom, it killed many of the Kitsuga warriors, including her husband and the king, Clay. Her two kids Sato and Mana managed to hide, but many other Kitsuga were injured. Her son, Sato, decided to cocoon early to get his wings and encouraged many of his young peers to do so as well so that they could be more useful to the kingdom when they emerge. Verity is not silent most of the time, and just stands watching the kingdom from her den. She's still grieving the loss of her husband. She treated Mae like her own daughter, and was the one that taught her Mae's signature dive-bomb technique.

Marvin

Marvin is a Hachitsu, he's an inventor! He's autistic, asexual, and aromantic. He loves loves tinkering with machinery, coming up with ideas, and making friends. He's super passionate about his work and showing people what he does, but he sometimes is oblivious to social cues and accidentally  oversteps some boundaries. He's broke, and can just barely afford the rent on the garage he lives in. He bakes in his free time and sells his pastries to get a smidge of income. His sister, Pamela, is the only sibling that visits him regularly and makes sure he's taking care of himself. He's the only one in his family without a "real job," so his siblings and parents think that he's a disappointment. He met Mae when she came to the kingdom and was wandering around lost, unsure why people were ignoring her/acting rude (she was flying, and since the Hachitsu can't fly its considered rude to fly in their kingdom instead of using the stairs and pulleys). He saw this as an opportunity to finally make some money and made her pay for him to show her around. He ended up giving her her money back after she saved him when the plague attacked the Hachitsu, and the two became close friends. The two remain pen pals! Marvin's dream was to create an invention that would finally allow the Hachitsu to fly, he spent months trying to get the design right, and he just finally succeeded in creating a glider.

Charlotte

Charlotte is the current President of the Hachitsu kingdom, and she has been since she was 14 (Hachistu can run as many times as they like). She is the daughter of the previous president, who passed away when she was 14. Her mother encouraged her to become the next leader in her place. Her mother was killed by wasps, which gave Charlotte an intense fear of wasps ever since. She really loves bees! Bees are like dogs to them, they're dangerous to all other forest spirit species except for the Hachitsu, their bee-like colors and pheromones let them exist harmoniously with wild bees. Domestic bees are nice to everybody, regardless of species. She had several guard bees that she loved dearly, when the plague came, infected wasps came after her. Her bees gave their lives to protect her by fighting them off, but became part of the plague themselves. Charlotte is bisexual, but not very interested in dating. She's outspoken and very confident in herself, she's been runnin' this job for a long time and she believes she knows what she's doing.

Bel

Bel is an elderly Kameshi. He's the first and only Kameshi Mae ever met during her journey, although she does meet more later on in life. During the 200 year gap, the Kameshi kingdom had a civil way that led to its destruction. Now, the kingdom is just ruins, and Kameshi live on their own scattered across the forest. He lives in a cave near the remains of the cabin, and often goes through it to find human items. He's a collector of human things, and his cave is littered with various human objects. His scarf is made of a green cloth and thread that he found in the dirt near the cabin, and is actually where Mae's needle came from! When Mae found her needle it was attached to a green thread, it was the very same one. Bel approached Mae because he noticed the needle on her back, and he wanted to get a better look. Bel is everyone's grandpa, he ofc treats Mae like his own granddaughter and is protective of her. He was the one that encouraged her to look inside the cabin to help with her journey. Mae came to visit him over a year later with Joel, and Bel didn't like Joel much sbhjdshsdshd simply because he was "dating" Mae (they were already married at that point lmao). He had also adopted an orphaned 5-year old Kameshi girl who he named Scamp. He gets his own arc later on in the series when he finds a hidden village of Kameshi, and he reunites with his past love, Tuft.

Ruben was currently away with England and you had your mother down in London for some mother/ daughter time. The two of you were enjoying the nice London weather and laughing and joking with each other, on the dash Ruben’s name appeared, you looking over as she instantly pressed accept with his voice appeared in the speakers. You both made small talk as he asked how everything was back at home as you asked how training was and how the boys were. 

There was  moment of quietness between you between he was gushing how much he missed you, saying the boys would be teasing him if they could hear him. He just telling you how he missed not having you around, and missed cuddling you, and missed having you. You bite your lip as he told you how much he couldn't wait to be reunited with you, and cheekily telling you that the two of you weren't be having that much time to sleep. He seductively telling you he couldn't wait, you had to stop him for getting anymore dirtier as you told him that he was on loud speaker and that your mum was there. 

Your mum cheekily mentioning about the long night the two of you had, she jokingly muttering that you were a lucky girl, as you could feel him so embarrassed, his voice went a little higher as he stumbled over his words, which your mum was like a shark with blood and enjoyed the moment a little too much and having something over him to tease him with. You saving him as you tell him you’ll ring him later.

b Instead of just male Jesse or female Jesse there's both. They’re twins. They both do the exact same stuff as each other and it’s really hard for them to make separate decisions at the beginning of the games, but eventually they both learn to make their own decisions independently.

Female Jesse:

Incredibly confident, headstrong, rash, and very protective.  

She HATES when people are rude to her, and she has been known to throw cusses at people that upset her. (Her brother helps her calm down though)

She disliked Lukas at the beginning, but she gave him a chance. Now he’s the coolest dude ever, according to her.

She’s very protective of Radar. She sees him in the same light as Ruben, and constantly fears for his life. Scared of losing him and being helpless to stop his fate, as she was when she watched Ruben die. 

Thinks of Ivor as her dad. She and her brother were starved of a father figure, and she was absolutely overjoyed to be reunited with him as a ninja. 

Quite attached to her brother. She mostly found it hard to make her own decisions without his reasonable inserts. 

Loves to fight more than to craft. 

She’s a lesbian, and very much in love with Petra. 

“Romeo is a bitchass motherfucker”

She decided to leave Beacontown to run away with her girlfriend. She still misses her friends and family though.

Her best friend is Axel. 

Would basically give her life for Petra.

Male Jesse:

Kind, gentle, chill, a little absent-minded at times

Very calm in stressful situations, and usually ends up having to calm his sister down a lot

He was kinda intimidated by Petra at the start.

He’s the matchmaker of the group. He loves to ship his friends with each other, and others often come to him for relationship advice, especially when it comes to his adoptive dad, Ivor. 

He looks up to Harper, and he loves to call her ‘Mum’ (much to the embarrassment of Ivor)

He loves his sister and would go to the ends of the earth to protect her. 

He misses Ruben dearly. He was the one who would always insist that he follows them everywhere. And every day, no matter where they are, he takes the time to honor his fallen companion.

Quite a skilled crafter, and he dislikes fighting.

He’s very much Gay, and he coddles his boyfriend, Lukas, with all the love in the world.

He was the one to convince his sister to rescue Romeo. 

He found it hard to seperate from his sister for a while, but he knew that it was better for both of them. 

He lives with Lukas in a house in Beacontown now.

Both of them heavily disliked Aiden for his actions, but when they finally had him cornered, M! Jesse convinced his sister to let him live.

Jack loves them both equally as his “children,” and Ivor gets grumpy when he does this

F! Jesse proudly confessed her feelings for Petra, whilst M! Jesse was a bit shyer. 

They both wear necklaces that have each other's faces on it.

The trip to find Mangus and Elleguard was the first time the twins separated. They were both absolutely terrified that the other was in danger, and they basically wept like toddlers when they were reunited (much to the amusement and concern of everyone else)

After the graduation of her peers, Sunset Shimmer returned to Equestria. For a while, she was torn between her two worlds. Until she reunited with her family. She ran into her stepsister Starlight almost immediately. Starlight got Sunset back in touch with Sunburst, her brother, and visited their baby sister Moondancer. Soon, they held a family reunion in Sire's Hollow, where they saw their mom Stellar Flare, fathers Firelight and Sunspot, cousins Spitfire and Short Fuse.... It was very nice. Thankfully, it wasn't limited to just family, and Starlight brought along her best friend Trixie. This is where the two met. Sunset was currently living in Ponyville as Twi's guest, so the sisters ran into each other quite a lot, and Star was usually with Trixie. A budding friendship blossomed, filled with snark and sarcasm and lots of swapping embarrassing stories about Glimmer. Sunset slowly started spending much more time in the pony world than in the human one... totally not because of Trix, nononononono; it's for her family, of course!

Trixie dared Sunset to prank Starlight Glimmer by making her believe her best friend and sister are sugary, syrupy-sweet girlfriends. Starlight finds it absolutely humiliating. Even though the trick worked, they... don't stop. They continue their shows of grand affection, drowning the other in flowers and chocolate gifts and random snuggies. Everytime Trixie and Sunset are in the same room, Sunset has her arm over her, or they're loudly making out, or obnoxiously complimenting each other, or ear-nippling, or grinding or doin bunny kisses or writing a love poem in her honor. Eventually, Starlight gives in, admitting that the two seem really happy together.... she realizes she's been wrong, and apologizes, giving them her blessing. That's when they admit that aha you just got prannked bro and Star's like bitch it's been half a year?????? anyways they're like no it hasn't and Starlight's just fucking face-palming at this point. Starlight real-talks the SHit out of those idiots and tells them to just fuck already it's okay you gay morons

and they do! thus creating their son, Apollo. Overjoyed soon-to-be mamas get hitched with a giant wedding (paid for by Trix's dads), buy their own place in Ponyville, and Sunset decides that... maybe she's outgrown the human world. She still communicates with the human version of the Mane Six through the book. She hasn't been back since the pregnancy, and finds herself enjoying the sunshine, rainbows and magicks of Equestria more than she ever did at Canterlot High. Trixie, though, loves hearing stories about Sunset's adventures there.

To recap a few things

- in my hc and Harmonyverse, Firelight married into Stellar Flare and Sunspot's relationship after the death of Firelight's wife/Starlight's mother (died in childbirth). Together, the three of them had Moondancer (yes, THAT Moondancer). This makes Sunset Shimmer and Sunburst Starlight's older stepsiblings. Also, Stellar and Stormy Flare are sisters, and Short Fuse is the baby brother of Spitfire.

- Sunset Shimmer is a trans lesbian, which is how they got their oopsie baby

- The two certainly weren't trying for a kid, but that doesn't mean they didn't want one. Both of 'em just figured they'd have kids longer down the line, when they were married, whether it was to each other or some other mare. But when they found out Trixie was pregnant from that night, they were both overjoyed, and Sunset proposed on the spot. so. many. happy tears. just the fucking loudest of sobs combined with the biggest grins ever. It wasn't a question of whether they were happy with it, or if they wanted to keep it. They knew from the second they begun questioning the possibility.

- Trixie Lulamoon's dads are Jack Pot and Big Bucks. The mare featured in the comics is Big's sister

- Apollo is a charming, envious actor with crippling self-doubt. He was raised as a child star, and now that he's a grown boy, he latches onto his dried-up fame. A very "do you know who i am?!" type pony. You ever seen Along Came Polly? You know Ruben's best friend in that movie? He's basically like that guy, except much more manipulative and self-loathing. His mums raised him to be confident and take what you want, but sadly the effects of stardom at a young age seeped into his image incredibly quickly, and he can't emotionally register that you care for him unless there's something he can offer you. This leads to him trying to protect himself before he gets hurt, which ends with him cutting ties more often than not before any relationship can get too serious. Apollo is also a complete and utter mama's boy

Orpheus and Eurydice: the Myth in a Nutshell

Eurydice was a nymph married to Orpheus, a legendary musician who loved her dearly.

One day she was trying to flee from Aristeus, another man enamoured of her, but she stepped on a viper that killed her with its bite.

Orpheus, who was tormented by pain, attempted to retrieve her from the Underworld. He convinced Hades and Persephone to let him take his wife back to world of living by singing and playing his lyre so gently that their hearts melted. But at one condition: he would walk in front of her and he couldn’t glance back until both of them had reached the upper world.

However he turned to be sure she was still there too soon. Eurydice, who hadn’t reached the threshold yet, vanished away.

Orpheus died by the hands of the maenads of Dionysus who were tired of his mourning for his late wife. As soon as he arrived in the Underworld his soul reunited with the one of Eurydice.
