i really enjoy how many character memories are in ch44 of the silt verses... carpenter remembers the barber temple as something nice someone told her about. hayward brings up how "country people take their gods too seriously", and then admits that he thinks about finch "all the time". faulkner brings up his and rane's conversation about being chosen, and obviously there's his final monologue about his family and drowning charlie... these characters are all so impacted by their experiences, i think it's really special

Arawn doesn't miss people all that much. Or, at the very least he's very good at pretending he doesn't miss people, of shoving that feeling down so deep he fools even himself. (The exception is Rhiannon, but she's the exception to every rule)

So, up until the moment he sees Florance, he's convinced he doesn't miss her in the slightest. And then he sees her, silhouetted in the doorway, their hair haloed by the setting sun, and he realizes.

Oh, how could he have ignored this ache for so long? This physical, bone deep ache of fondness and love and sorrow at being parted for so long. He's on his feet before he notices he stood up, and then he's launching himself towards them.

"Flo!" he calls, hugging her so tight it must hurt, then he pulls back and punches her shoulder. "You said you'd fucking write."

He picks up his own bottle and twists the lid off again as he takes a gulp and savors the cool temperature of the water and the RELIEF that it offers from the sun. Rationing is ESSENTIAL in these situations because you never know when you might get more ; it's why Chishiya has a couple small stashes here and there across Tokyo. Just in case measures that he's glad for now. ( Tries to IGNORE how he can feel Pat's stare on him and fails. )

Chishiya lowers the bottle at the question, his expression vaguely perplexed at the question. LIKE HE HADN'T REALLY FOCUSED ON IT. Her question forces him to look inwards - something he'd avoided doing. " It's not like feeling bad would change anything. It was the logical thing to do at the time. " He replies after a moment with a shrug. He's doing it again; not actually answering the questions but skirting around them.

A gentle puff of air leaves him as he looks at the ground for a moment and then looks back up towards her. " I didn't do it for anyone else. I wasn't even in danger. I tracked HIM down. Which wasn't exactly that hard considering that although I am a terrible marksman, there's not many places to snipe from. "

Im realizing that with Tara and Leanne being there during the events of Bride while Amy was at college, and with her ultimately coming back and dropping out of college to take care of both of them, i realized that they probably both came to the agreement to not tell Amy about what they saw and what really happened. Tara more so probably because shes seen how much their eldest sister had struggled with her mental health and psychosis, and how much she grieved their father given she remembers him the most, and so they could have come to an agreement to not tell her about any of that when she came back because she already was having to drop out of college and come take care of them now that Tiffany was 'dead', and Amy was reeling the loss of another parent, so it would be better if she just didnt know about that. They were probably sure that she would eventually find out, but were hoping that maybe she wouldn't.

Because if Amy did find out, who knows how she would react to finding out Chucky was still alive, but also simultaneously being the reason that now Tiffany was gone. Plus, being dolls and all on top of that would have been jarring to find out, so who knows how that news would have affected Amy's already fragile state of mind.

It was hard not to blame himself for Bahamut's rampage; there was so much more he could have done to help avoid it and Joshua had fallen short. And if it hadn't been for Clive he was sure he wouldn't have been able to pull the Prince back to himself...

Perhaps it was an action borne of guilt but Joshua had ordered a small contingent of Undying to keep watch over the Dragoons. If Dion had a chance of recovering, he would not be able to do it alone, and Joshua hoped he might keep safe those who could help him.

It was luck that Joshua was close by when he was informed that the Holy Order's second in command had gone into a flood and not come out. He was quick to give chase; thankfully arriving on the bloody scene in time. He was able to slay the beast as he rushed to Terence's side.

Hands already outstretched to begin healing him, Joshua ignored the man's protest. It was remarkable how many people would refuse him and he had long since stopped listening when people told him no. He was gifted with the power of healing and life and he would use it as he saw fit.

"I can't drag you out of the aether, Sir Terence, so you'll need to accept this as the help I can offer." He didn't have the strength to carry him without Priming and that would surely lead to more issues if he was seen.

As his flames knit flesh together anew, Joshua stiffened. There was a tell-tale texture on the skin of his leg, beneath the blood and torn fabric. He turned his head away quickly.

"Return to your men, if aught else dwells here I will see them put down."

Clara was about halfway through her pregnancy. She was no longer ill these days and instead was energized. Her body continues to develop and prepare itself to carry their baby full term and and give birth. Her belly ha growing along with the rest of the curves on her body.

Because of these changes, she was constantly buying new clothes and today was one of those days. “How’s this one, love?”

She asked as she stepped out of the dressing room in a fitted dress that hugged all of her curves. Her breasts barely held in.

Wolf almost spat out his tea at that, blushing furiously.

"Oh fuck... that's hot..."

Maria may have been out in the world, living her life as much as G.U.N. would allow. After all, to her knowledge, she was the closest thing they had to Shadow's power, and though it hurt to think that Shadow was gone, she lived her life for both of them, knowing he would want to enjoy freedom as much as her. Then, news spread like wildfire of a blue hedgehog that resembled Shadow somehow, and it got her thinking until she learned of her grandfather, Gerald, seemingly alive and his demise. Though she loved him, she could not condone what he did when he thought he lost her, but because Shadow was alive, she was so confused as to why G.U.N. would lie to her. She would get to the bottom of it, but first, she needed to find Shadow, who knew what he was told about her fate. So with a flashlight in head she searched an old abandoned saw mill where reports of a black hedgehog had been spotted, flashing her light around she checked every corner. "Shadow, I know you're here; I can sense it," Maria said calmly. But she then looked at her hand to see orange sparks dancing around her fingertips. Was the chaos energy in her body reacting to Shadow?
