mousy save; hold onto your hats
i started with my go-to simlicy save, so most of the residential lots and many of the community lots are by simlicy. i agonized over lot placement and number of each type of lot; i only ever play one family so it makes sense for me to have fewer residential lots and tons of community lots. i'm missing a lot of packs so this is pretty carefully curated to fit with what i do have (i'm used to replacing wallpaper and some furniture for most gallery builds but if it's missing much more than that I try a different lot). i love community lots that a) have things for sims to do and b) look pretty. all of these fit and i highly recommend every single one!!

The lengthy Holy Week period didn't involve me going to the beach or taking a vacation but I can say that my holiday is a peaceful one because I did not experience traffic or stress.
I had just a lovely holiday spending quality time with my lover at our apartment, treating ourselves to delicious wine and dining at a superb restaurant, joined our friends for a picnic, and in between, we had some nice meals.

i want to lay with you in a place a little inland from santa monica, maybe even marina del rey. it’ll be hot in los angeles and we’ll be blasting fans straight onto us because our apartment doesn't have AC. it doesn't have a whole lot (and neither do we), but it’s next to the liquor store and the shop we get our flowers. we've made friends with the people who work at the market.
it’s one of those kitschy, almost-dingbat apartments with only one bedroom, but we make the most of it. it’s painted peach on the outside and a few palm trees line the sidewalk. it smells faintly of cigarettes. we have orange juice in the fridge and plums on the table.
nfr is playing on vinyl, where it usually summers, and we are miserably hot but we’re together. you love to hate los angeles and i get a high being in the city that loves me with the boy i love. we listen to poetry, you play shows, i’m in the crowd, we read books together and go to new restaurants when they open. living is easy. we don’t work, we dont do anything. we just live day-by-day in the heavenly smog and indulge in the sloth necessary to be here.
i drag you around town sometimes and tell you the tales of jim morrison and sharon tate. we go to the beach whenever we want to, sometimes driving down to Newport and Laguna just because we can. basking in sun and history and architecture, we are so boringly happy here. i find beauty and joy in the spotted sidewalks and traffic, you enjoy the occasional chaos and unpredictability that comes with the lifestyle. we both take pictures of vintage cars we like when we’re out. as awful as the heat is, i think it's beautiful sitting in it with you.
you call me miss southern california herself when i ask what you want to do. everything is slow here but something is always happening and i love the way the city’s pace matches ours.
there’s always so much to do and nothing but time to do it.
- summertime, and the living's easy

My parents are thinking about going to California for their anniversary in June. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on places/areas to go? Thanks!
Cambria and San Simeon area is my favorite! They have the cutest little town and if you go inland they have some of the best wineries in the state! Soooo beautiful. Inland would be like Paso Robles area but there's wineries even closer to San Simeon as well. If they want more things to do I suggest the best county in the state, Orange County. Laguna Beach is amazing! Beautiful water, lots of restaurants, lots of little down town things to do. I suggest staying away from San Diego and LA. They are super bad right now.. and the water there right now is HORRIBLE... obviously in June water won't be as bad because less rain but honestly SD and LA County are not good areas right now and homelessness is extremely bad there. If they like wine, Temecula is wine valley. Lots of pretty wineries there. Those are my top suggestions. :)

My husband got to go to my favorite nice restaurant for a work dinner last night. Spouses weren’t invited, so I got to stay home and eat instant ramen while my husband had steak and salmon. It is fine - I am happy for him, he deserves a nice dinner, but then I was like ah, no holiday party for stay at home parents, of course.
So! I decided I would make my own. I’m going to take myself to Starbucks after I drop Ender off at preschool. I will then have an hour to sit alone in my car and not answer to anyone and eat a breakfast sandwich and get a fancy coffee and pretend I’m expensing it so I don’t have to worry about the cost. I’m also going to listen to the laguna beach podcast while I do this. And ya’ll… I am SO excited about it 🤣
