"We hebben een heel ander menu dan dat wat de standaard Indiase restaurants normaal bieden”, vertelt Hariot. De gerechten zijn geïnspireerd door smaken uit verschillende Indiase regio’s, maar met een ‘westerse touch’. Denk daarbij aan Italiaanse kruiden en burrata.”"

The Furley-Williamson-Dosser flatshare
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Phineas had joined the LD party, Stephanie was already a well-established architect somehow, William was earning some money working at a law firm and saving up so he could maybe open a restaurant one day, and Mickey...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Mickey was set on fulfilling his lifetime want to be a professional poker player (whilst still working at the Electronics Supercenter). He did previously have ambitions to be a movie director, but he was simply too caught up in gambling (is poker gamble?) and not really going anywhere with it in that moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That of course didn't stop him from lying to his "friend" Brittany that she would get that starring role in his movie. Discussing the movie gave him an excuse to invite her over and flirt with her (even though he knew Brittany was his girlfriend Heather's best friend, and also his best friend Guy's girlfriend).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
William had also found a girl to date: Joanne (previously Almeric Davis's lover).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Phineas and Stephanie got married.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soon after the wedding, Stephanie got pregnant accidentally, but the couple didn't mind – they'd already dreamt of starting a family anyway. They began planning to leave the flatshare and move out to the suburbs into a place of their own.

What Made Me so Special? -Almer
Albert came into Elmer's life before he could even remember, and quickly became apart of his already large family of 9 children. Albert, having befriended one of Elmer's older brothers, was six was he first met the rest of his newly made friend's siblings; while Elmer was merely three. Elmer found himself always following the two, as they played and ran throughout his family's small apartment, and this persisted as they grew older.
What started out as a fascination with this new found friend of his brother, grew to be a deep admiration. Albert had always showed him a certain kindness, unlike others.
"Stop following us, you weirdo; it's like you're obsessed with Al or something!" His brother had shouted at him outside their apartment complex when he was nine and Elmer was just six.
"I'm not!"
His brother shoved him onto the cement, having had grown to be a bully at that age. Elmer felt his lip wobble at the agression his brother had shown and watched helplessly as his brother stomped off down the sidewalk, commanding for Albert to follow at his heels. Albert had given Elmer a soft apology and helped him to his feet before turning to follow his friend. He truly did feel bad for Elmer, he was never a bother for Albert. He supposed that his friend did not share the same opinion of his younger brother.
Elmer was nine when he realized his admiration towards his brother's redheaded friend was not as friendly as he had assumed. He could barely hold his composure around the older boy, and found himself blushing anytime Albert tried to talk to him.
"Ew! You totally have a crush on Albert." his brother exclaimed, tossing a pillow off of his bed at Elmer. "That's gross, he's my friend."
Elmer's cheeks felt as if they were on fire as he tried to think of a way to defend himself. Instead opted for burying his face in the aforementioned pillow. Albert found himself blushing as well, more out of the awkwardness of the situation than anything, and gave his friend a playful shove. But he was quick to defend the other boy.
"Just leave him alone, dude. It's not like anything is going to happen, it'll go away."
Unfortunately for Elmer, it did not go away. Quickly, his crush on Albert became widely known information throughout his family, and became something the two could joke about as they got older.
"Is the S in your last name capitalized?" Elmer asked, sat at the kitchen table filling out a paper.
"That's something you should know if you intend on taking it someday." Albert had responded, wanting to catch the other off guard. Elmer smirked and was quick to give a rebuttal.
"Who's to say you won't be taking mine?"
Over the years, Elmer often wondered how he could possibly still harbor these feelings. Surely Albert couldn't be so great that these feelings persisted on the real version of him alone, he must be exaggerating how good of a person Albert was. Many occasions reminded Elmer of why he still held these affections for the other boy.
"What's got you so stuck in a rut?" Albert plopped down onto the couch next to a seemingly stressed Elmer.
"Homecoming is in one week and I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't have a date. They keep trying to console me but it just makes me feel worse!" Elmer gripped at his own hair, glad to not be bottling up the situation anymore.
Albert chuckled at how such a small problem was such a big deal to the younger boy, "You don't got a date? What do you mean? I'm sitting right next to you!" He had no romantic interest in him, but couldn't stand to see him so upset. Homecoming became something of dreams for Elmer, he and Albert went together to every formal dance, even if it was just as friends.
The years flew by faster than Elmer would have liked, and soon he found himself saying goodbye. Albert was going away for school, as was his brother.
"You better come and visit me." Albert whispered, throwing his arms around Elmer. They were stood outside the door of the family apartment.
"I think you should worry more about not being able to get rid of me."
And off both Albert and Elmer's brother went, Albert going out of state while the other stayed close to home. Visits went from every month, to just holidays, to special occasions, to none at all. The last time Elmer and Albert had seen each other was Elmer's graduation. Both went and lived their separate lives and had their own experiences. One often found themself pondering over the other, and within his college years, Albert found out that he was not straight. Eventually Elmer's crush faded until he let himself believe it was gone, he was probably never going to see Albert again, so why hold onto it?
5 years later
Albert broke open the envelope and read the invitation, his friend was getting married. He let a grin spread across his face, excited for his friend and at the prospect of getting to see the whole Kasprzak family after so many years. He hadn't seen any of them since Elmer's graduation. Elmer on the other hand, was terrified upon receiving the invitation, and had frantically texted his brother.
"Will Albert be there? Please tell me he won't be"
"He's my best man, of course he'll be there. Nervous to see your boyfriend?"
"I've finally gotten over him and now I have to see him again"
":p"
Elmer groaned, it wasn't that he didn't want to see Albert, he just couldn't stand the thought of having to deal with his unrequited feelings even more. Maybe if he just acted professional, he could deal with it. They would only be around each other for a few days, Elmer could deal with it, right?
He could not deal with it. The wedding came much faster than he would've liked, and now Elmer was sitting in a taxi on his way to the hotel. He didn't have much time left until he had to see Albert, and everything in him was conflicting. He desperately wanted to go early, just get a glimpse of that red hair, to hug the life out of the person he missed so dearly, to see Albert's cute smile and- oh no. Elmer pushed the thoughts away as quickly as they came, he could not let himself entertain even a sliver of those feelings.
Albert felt as though he was going to burst from excitement, he had arrived early to meet up with the family for lunch and was currently waiting outside the restaurant for them to arrive; the majority of them were already there. He mingled about among the people and someone gave his shoulder a soft shove.
"Waiting for your boyfriend?" His friend, the husband to be, teased, "I'm warning you, he ain't the dorky looking kid he was when you last saw him. You might get a taste for how he's felt over the past twenty years."
"If I somehow did end up crushing on him then I'd have no problems, since he already likes me." Albert replied smoothly, though there was a sliver of him that feared the situation.
"We'll see, he told me that he had gotten over you, but maybe that'll change."
The news that Elmer got over him was, surprising? upsetting? Albert didn't quite know what emotion he was experiencing, but it wasn't a positive one. He should be happy, the fact that he didn't like Elmer that way always made him feel guilty, but now that the boy's feelings had faded, it felt different. Almost like a little sliver of comfort was gone. In the distance, he heard a car door slam.
"Elmer!" A voice exclaimed, "Its so good to see you!"
Excitement buzzed throughout the family as they parted to let Albert through the crowd. He didn't stop to even look at Elmer, didn't say a word, just threw his arms around the brunette boy and tugged him into a tight hug. Elmer melted, to say the least, and any emotion he may have crushed, bottled, or discarded came rushing back into him as Albert's arms tightened around his shoulders.
"I've missed you, a lot." Albert pulled away to get a good look at Elmer and found himself almost starstruck and how impossibly good, Elmer looked. He was no longer the acne faced teenage dork who lovingly followed him around; he was, for lack of a better word, beautiful. Albert focused in on the dark constellation like freckles dotted his cheeks and nose that had been hidden by acne in his teenage years, he wanted to trace them and learn every constellation that dotted Elmer's face, what was happening to him?
Albert was staring at him, Elmer could tell, but he didn't care. It gave him the chance to stare right on back, taking in every new freckle, scar, and mark that hadn't been there the last time he saw Albert. He was quick to cast his gaze away, unlike the other.
"You look good." He managed out.
Albert was broken from his trance, "You look great, like really good. It's so nice to see you." He spoke quickly and a bit nervously, a soft blush spreading across his face. Elmer smiled, and everything felt like it was how it should be.
Lunch went by surprisingly smooth, and now the two found themselves back in Elmer's hotel room, Albert sprawled out on the bed with Elmer sitting next to him. The previous conversation Albert had had with Elmer's brother still couldn't worm its way out of his consciousness, and he couldn't figure out why.
"Your brother says you got over me, is that true?"
"The key word there is got, Albie," Elmer sighed, "I think I just convinced myself I had though." Albert nodded, satisfied with the answer. "How about you? Still single and straight?"
"Still single, less straight." Elmer choked on air, spiraling into a coughing fit. Albert laughed, "I've had some experiences since I've left."
"I do not want to hear about them." Elmer heaved, catching his breath. Albert just responded with another laugh. "You're telling me after all these years you're not straight!?"
Albert gave him a sheepish grin and nodded, "Maybe you'll end up getting your dream, cutie." He winked and rolled off of the bed. Elmer blushed furiously; Albert's sexuality was the main thing that prevented him from having any hope of anything actually coming from his crush on Albert, and now Albert wasn't straight. Elmer was doomed.
"Don't work yourself up too much about it." Albert had popped up off the floor, resting his chin against the edge of the bed, "You always stress yourself out, even though I know you can't help it." Elmer knew he was right, but instead of admitting it, he rolled his eyes and playfully shoved Albert's head off the bed. The redhead was quick to his feet and practically pounced onto the bed, tacking Elmer against the white linens. His fingers dug themselves into his sides, the brunette broke down into uncontrollable laughter.
"Stop!" He gasped, "No tickling!" This only prompted Albert to ticking him harder.
Soundless laughs and wheezes escaped from Elmer's mouth, and Albert laughed along with him. He slowly ceased his attack and lingered a second, before flopping to the side where he lay next to the other boy. Elmer's eyes were alight with excitement and his face was flushed red from laughing. Albert wished they could stay like this forever, and Elmer secretly did too. Albert let out a sigh and sat up, there was no mistaking the fact that he was developing feelings for Elmer, but it felt wrong, selfish even. Elmer held such a strong affection for him for two decades, and he was just now. beginning to return those feelings. He felt guilty, like he was leading the boy on, even though he did hold feelings for him. They were just so sudden they almost felt fake, even though he knew they weren't. Maybe they weren't new and he was just now accepting that he could in fact, have feelings for Elmer. It was all too confusing. Elmer noticed his change in moods quickly and, in a daring move, reached out to grab his hand. Albert smiled, and squeezed his hand softly, Elmer squeezed back.
"What made me so special? Why love me for so long?" It was a question that often crossed both boys minds. Elmer shrugged.
"I never really knew, I wish I did."
The answer didn't satisfy any curiosity, but he accepted it. Albert took a breath and felt his heartbeat quicken as he prepared himself for what he was about to say.
"I think I might be falling for you."
"You.... what?" Elmer was stunned, to say the least. He had dreamed of this day almost his entire life, but this was not how he imagined it going down.
"Falling, for you, I was worried about it happening before we met up again but i didn't think it actually would." Albert was blushing profusely, giving his hair a run for its money. He began to ramble nervously, "I understand if you think I'm a jerk for just now developing feelings-"
"Al." Elmer tried to get his attention.
"-and if you don't want anything to come with it because of how much I've probably led you on-"
"Albie." He tried again
"-and you even said you moved on once so maybe if you just ignore me you could do it again-"
"Albert!" Albert was broken out of his rambling worry, Elmer smiled at him "Be my date to the wedding?"
Albert broke out into the biggest grin Elmer had ever seen, "Hell yeah."
The wedding night was almost magically perfect. The ceremony went smoothly, Elmer would never admit the fact that he may have payed more attention to Albert than the actual ceremony, but it was true. Both boys were absolutely gobsmacked at how nice the other looked in their tuxedos, they danced with each other all night, and if anyone noticed their interlocked hands under the table at the dinner, they didn't say anything. Soon their night came to an end, and Albert watched out of the corner of his eye as the newly wed bride tossed her bouquet of flowers into the air. He turned to find Elmer in the crowd, who gave him a wink, holding the bouquet in his hands.

TEMA:
COVID-19

The Student Hotel Delft Building News

KCAP realizes The Student Hotel Delft
Rotterdam, October 8th, 2020 – The Student Hotel Delft in the Nieuw Delft area development has opened its doors. KCAP has worked together with The Student Hotel, Municipality of Delft, BAM Bouw en Techniek – Projecten, Bectro Installatie Techniek, Nieman Raadgevende Ingenieurs and The Invisible Party for the new destination. The attention to sustainability resulted in ‘BREEAM Very Good’ certificate for the building that opens up to the city.
Lobby:
The Student Hotel Delft, located centrally in the Nieuw Delft area development, is a new meeting place in the city to live, work, and study. The diversity of functions contributes to the dynamics of the station area. The new building connects with the bus square, the old station building and the new intercity station hall with municipal offices. Dialogue and openness towards the urban context were crucial for designing the latest destination of The Student Hotel (TSH) in The Netherlands.
view to old station:
The hybrid hotel concept combines high-end hotel functions with extraordinary short- and long-stay facilities for students. The ensemble with its 13,500 m2 includes 340 hotel rooms, a gym, restaurant, and a library. In addition, the program provides gaming and lounge rooms as well as several conference facilities and co-working areas.
Station forecourt:
The architecture of The Student Hotel mitigates between the scale of the buildings of the Phoenixstraat and the smaller grain of the Koendersbuurt. With its robust appearance and the recognisable traditional construction of plinth, main volume, and structure, the building offers a counterbalance to the glass dominated municipal office. The main volume consists of a sturdy ribbed concrete shell.
The Student Hotel Delft:
Edward Schuurmans, a partner of KCAP, explains: ‘With the lively and transparent plinth containing many public facilities, The Student Hotel is a present to the station square of Delft. The architecture presents a soft vintage boldness that suits vigorous student life’. The pronounced interior design underlines this feeling while the facade welcomes the passers-by with an interplay of reflection, light, and shadow.
facade:
All the public hotel functions are located in the plinth. Here storey-high glass panels and concrete columns alternate. The plinth’s transparent design creates a vibrant streetscape and activates the station square towards the nearby park. On the floors above that have a more solid aspect with earthy colour, the communal student kitchens are visible in the open glass corners. The top presents a lighter tone and blurs in the cityscape. By positioning the rooms around a patio and inside the two towers, we have created an efficient and compact layout that fosters the community building.
from above:
KCAP worked in an integrated team with BAM for the design, using the latest digital techniques to control the entire process. The building is fully elaborated in a 3D model. These models not only provide added value in the building process but are also extremely suitable for visualisations and virtualisation.
volumes:
In addition to community building and social interaction, sustainability is an essential focus in the design. The project distinguishes itself by using the latest installation, construction, and engineering techniques, like a soil-based thermal energy CHP system and application of circular economy for the interiors of the ground floor and common areas. Thanks to its position at a public transportation hub and a bicycle shed, The Student Hotel encourages sustainable mobility. The hotel in Delft is the first The Student Hotel in the Netherlands realised following BREEAM certification criteria.
With its clear architecture, The Student Hotel Delft contributes to a lively neighborhood and fosters togetherness in a unique dialogue between the students, hotel guests and the city of Delft.

FUJIMORI, THE BARINGO MAN WHO SERVES KORIEMA MEAT TO NAIROBIANS
New Post has been published on https://newscheckz.com/fujimori-the-baringo-man-who-serves-koriema-meat-to-nairobians/
FUJIMORI, THE BARINGO MAN WHO SERVES KORIEMA MEAT TO NAIROBIANS
In his hometown, the dusty village of Kapluk Sub-Location in Kerio Valley in Baringo County, where he attended his primary and secondary school they fondly call him Fujimori- a nickname he inherited from former Peru President owing to his love for history and quick grasp of political events.
He is, in their eyes, a hardworking son whose thirsty for success in life took him miles away to the coastal city of Mombasa two decades ago.
And upon his return from a journey he started literally with nothing, had to his name a chain of four model city restaurants whose clientele reads in the thousands and a staff of 100 highly skilled professionals.
This is the journey of Albert Cheboi, the CEO of Kipevu group of restaurants, a man whose rise in the frisk world of business reads of resilience, focus, determination and hope. Born in 1974, Cheboi had grown up knowing he must do more to rescue himself and his family from grinding poverty.
But his dream almost hit a snack when he dropped out of school in 1992 at Kapluk Secondary School. His family could no longer afford his school fees. Buoyed by sheer determination, he went to Kabarnet town and secured a job as a waiter in a local hotel.
He made arrangements with the hotel owner so that he could be allowed to go study in the library during the day and serve in the hotel at night.
“It was really difficult. This being my high school final year, I had to miss out on my Agriculture Practical because I was not in school, nonetheless, I miraculously managed to pass my KCSE exams,” he said amid giggles.
After completion of his form four exams, he says, he went back to his waiter job but now at Saimo hotel.
He recalls with humor how the hotel owner Mr. Amin then liked his service to the extent that he offered him free accommodation. But this was shot lived.
“One customer liked my service and instantly asked me to go serve in his hotel in Eldama Ravine Kabimoi town. As a young man, I was fascinated with the offer and going to a new town, I left the following day using a famed bus called Nyonyorwo,” he muses with laughter
Cheboi, a sociable character with unparcelled charisma and unique charm reminisces that his service at the new hotel in Eldama Ravine as a waiter, like the first one was also short- lived.
Another customer liked his work at Kabimoi Hotel and poached him to his newly opened bar called Chambai Complex.
“While working at Chambai, I also met more friends and after a short time, I met a man called John Kessei from Ainabkoi who requested to take me to Mombasa to work in his newly opened clearing and forwarding company. I accepted,” he recalls.
In 1994, while in Mombasa, he joined Kenya School of Monetary Studies for Diploma course in Banking and Finance but dropped midway due to lack ofschool fees.
Albert Cheboi Alias Fujimori, the CEO of Kipevu group of restaurants, a man whose rise in the frisk world of business reads of resilience, focus, determination and hope.

Barry's Excerpts (from Fanciful Manuscripts)
By J. Gerard Legagneur, Esq.
Dear Audience,
If I ever write this novel, here is an excerpt…
Sincerely,
G-
Tumblr media
… kicking myself for not having made an after-dinner plan. After all, it was only our first date. I had wrongly assumed that I would be walking her to the bus station directly afterwards (in my gentlemanly fashion). She had mentioned during a previous phone call that every day she takes a one hour bus ride back to her apartment in Almere, which is due east of Amsterdam.
But as we were leaving the restaurant, it was fairly obvious that neither one of us wanted to go anywhere; neither one of us wanted to extricate ourselves from this shared moment in time. And here I was the charmer, the philanderer, the one notorious for thinking two steps ahead when it came to the art of seduction. But, that night I was completely dumb and disarmed.
So, before falling into an inevitably awkward, pregnant pause, I jumped in with the only solution I could think of… “How about we just take a stroll?” (and, yes, I purposefully said “stroll”, just to be a GQ nerd) She took a deep breath, and her chest noticeably heaved with a beat of anticipation.
Then, those bright, deep-blue eyes looked up at me with a relieved smile. “Okay,” she replied, in her breathy (and adorable) Dutch accent.
I offered her my arm, in an overly-bent-and-jokingly-slapstick way, but it was a clear invite for her to get closer to me. I just wanted her to touch me for the very first time. And that she did, shyly linking her arm with mine; she then snuggled against me in the crisp Amsterdam air as we took our first steps together, as a couple — and we both knew it.
During my younger years as a video game junkie, I devised a simple strategy for navigating uncharted territory in RPGs: I would always make a right when I hit a fork in my path. Sticking to this rule made it easier for me to find my way back to my original spot without a drawing a map or taking notes. And I never got lost. This habit is deeply ingrained in my psyche, and it served me well on that brisk September night.
Walking along Rokin, it felt overly-cosmopolitan and unworthy of the night’s magic. I decided to nudge her towards a quaint side street — on the right.
We had not walked two blocks before I started hearing a familiar tune. It was Queen Lauryn’s X-Factor streaming out of a local restaurant. My stomach tightened as I realized that this night was quickly morphing into a “movie moment”. But I suppressed my silent epiphany with a faulty presumption. I was quick to assume that this guileless woman at my side was too naïvely “Dutch” to possibly have any appreciation for the increasing cadence of Miss Hill’s aria. As we approached the tune’s growing intensity, my lovely companion slayed my ignorance.
“I love this song!” she gleefully announced. “Lauren Hill is (stumbling for the right English word…) amazing!” She exclaimed this as she turned to grab my biceps while endearingly elevating on her tippytoes. Her eyes were beaming, and her lashes were batting with a cheerful intensity.
I became immediately embarrassed. I suddenly remembered how, throughout dinner, she had expressed how passionately she wanted to pursue a singing career; yet, I had still subconsciously made the obtuse assumption that she would have no appreciation for American R&B. I felt like such a dolt…
I threw my arm around her, and we began to walk more swiftly. Lauryn’s melody was now flowing through the air like a siren’s lullaby. As we were about to reach the threshold of the restaurant, I could feel her slowly pressing her body closer against me, signaling that she and I were sharing the same emotional space in Lauryn’s aria. I then became consumed with the inevitability of that moment; and the realization of that moment rested entirely in my hands.
As we passed the restaurant’s façade, I gently stopped her. “I love this song, too,” I said, slowly shaking my head and flashing a dimple. “You have no idea”.
Then I did it. I removed my arm from her waist and circled around to face her, standing in the street in front of that bistro. I extended my hand and asked, “Will you dance with me?” I smiled confidently, while trembling nervously.
What impressed me about her reaction was that, although we were on a public street, she didn’t take a single moment to look around to consider who was watching. Nor did she acknowledge the quizzical, prying eyes of the restaurant patrons who were ogling us through a plate of glass. All she did was take my hand — without a word — and move into me.
My left hand clasped her right, and I moved the other into the small of her back as a soft cheek touched mine. We then experienced our first dance together. In the streets of Amsterdam. Under a European moonlight. And I instantly knew it would be the first of many. And… I also knew that I was in love.
Fortunately for me, I knew the song very well. Therefore, I also knew that one of the most powerful crescendos in R&B history would soon begin wafting through the night air...
“Care for me, care for me. I know you care for me! There for me, there for me. Said you'd be there for me!
Cry for me, cry for me. You said you'd die for me! Give to me, give to me. Why won't you live for me?”
He then whispered to me the words of courage I needed for me to carry out His will —and reminded me that time was of the essence...
I was boldly nervous when I pulled apart from her just enough to take an extended glance into those whirlpools. She was simply breathtaking. I deliberately placed my palm on her cheek… and quickly leaned in for our first kiss ever.
Many people describe a first embrace as a spinning whirlwind where everything around you disappears. Yet, my first time with her was completely the opposite.
Here I was, intertwining lips with an exquisite angel in a foreign land — finally fulfilling the one thing I had ached for since the moment I laid eyes on her only a few weeks prior. But I did not lose myself in the moment at all. Rather, my senses became sharper and more acute. Our kiss was intentional, unhurried, sexy, and passionate, and her energy flowed through me.
She slowly lifted her hand and gently…

On Almeric and Helen’s wedding night they conceived a child so Helen is soon waddling around with a big tummy.

Ellen Furley drops by while Almeric is at the community lot he bought to start a restaurant. Almeric’s predestined hobby is cuisine and Helen has the natural cook trait so they decided that Helen will be the chef while Almeric runs the front of the restaurant.

Unfortunately Helen and Ellen do not seem to have much in common.

That night Helen feels something odd and her stomach suddenly pops into the second bump.
