arcade
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the door chimes as you and ningning enter the arcade. the place is quaint but decorated with old video game posters and machines giving it personality. scanning the room for your friends, you spot sohee and seunghan immersed in the pinball machine. as the two of you walk over to them, ningning slows down. “isn’t that wonbin and shotaro?” she questions, looking towards to the guys hovering over another machine as you follow her gaze. seeing wonbin in person again, you internally cringe as you’re reminded of your last interaction. determined to make up for the horrific first impression, you begin to walk over to the unfamiliar guys instead. “come on, let’s go say hi.”
by the time you make it over to the boys, their game has ended, relieving you of the awkwardness of hovering around and waiting. feeling a tap on his shoulder, wonbin turns around, confused, until his big brown eyes meet yours. “hi,” you say, extending a hand and giving him a small smile. “i told u i’d be normal the next time we met.” as wonbin returns your handshake, he chuckles out, “that you did. hi again.” letting go of his hand, you look over to shotaro. “you’re shotaro, i presume?” “mhm,” he responds with a big smile, “but you can call me taro. shotaro is too formal.” nodding your head, you look over to ningning as you introduce her. ningning compliments them on their outfits, prompting the guys to thank her.
not wanting the conversation to stall, you ask wonbin and shotaro what they were playing before you and ningning got there. as wonbin opens his mouth to answer, he gets interrupted by seunghan tackling you in a hug. “YNNNNNN.” stumbling back, you let out a giggle as you hug seunghan back. “what’s with this greeting?” letting go of you, seunghan grins and shrugs, saying it was just cause, as he begins to tackle ningning next. looking over to wonbin, now standing alone watching the scene unfold, you give him a smile, asking where shotaro went. pointing over to sohee and shotaro, “sohee stole him”, wonbin responds with a gentle smile. as you look over at shotaro and sohee, there is only one thought running through your head: wonbin has a really pretty smile. fuck.
just as the implications of the thought begin to consume you, the rest of your friends roll into the arcade. minjeong grabs your arm, pulling you toward the pac-man machine, saving you from your deranged brain as you wave bye to wonbin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plopping down on the empty couch in the lounge, you open your phone and scroll for a few minutes until you feel another presence next to you. looking over to the seat beside you, you see wonbin. “we meet again. what are you doing here by yourself?” he breathes out. placing your phone in your lap, you mutter, “eunseok and sohee have beat me in practically every game in here. there’s nothing for me but humiliation waiting out there.” wonbin raises his eyebrows. “not a gamer?” you scoff. “the only game i’ve ever played is bad ice-cream when i was 8. i don’t know why i agreed to this hangout.” wonbin hums in response as he looks out into space. a comfortable silence falls over the two of you as you begin scrolling on your phone again.
after a couple of moments, you feel wonbin get up. “come on, let’s go.” looking up at him from your phone, you see him gesturing you to get up. you tilt your head and look around in confusion before asking if he’s talking to you.“yes, you. get up. i’m gonna teach you how to play some games. i can’t let eunseok walk around with a bigger ego than he already has,” wonbin smirks, nodding his head toward the games. you let out a snort at the comment. still sitting, fiddling with your phone, you let a moment pass as you think about it. with a sigh, you place your phone into your pocket. “you’re right. the only person who should have a big ego around here is me.” wonbin shakes his head in amusement as he begins to walk back into the gaming section, and you follow behind him.

The kids I teach think I’m magic because I have a puzzle ring that falls apart when I take it off but stays together when I wear it. It’s just very sweet.
#one of them wrote a story for English class with me as the main character because of it#I had a rabbit sidekick and was the lost child of the queen#I also one time called the robot tattoo behind my ear my lucky robot that keeps me safe#and they’ve developed a whole mythos around how all of my tattoos give me powers.#(the actual reason the robot keeps me safe is cause he reminds me it’s okay to stop masking and sink back into my natural roboticness)#he’s my ward against autistic burnout)#like. I just love the way kids think.#anyway it was our end of year show today and my two little baby classes did me really proud and I might have cried a little#they’re the first time I’ve had a full class on my own that I’ve not shared with other teachers#and this year has just…it’s been a fascinating learning curve and yeah#my boss was like ‘watching you today with them made me somewhat envious of the rapport you’ve managed to develop with them and how well they#respond and interact with you’ and I’m looking at this guy that I’ve looked up to for over 15 years now like? that’s what I’ve always been#envious of you over like every single kid you teach loves you. and like we just had a really good conversation about the different dynamics#yeah I just needed to ramble cause it’s half three in the morning and I’ve only just got home and my little ones were so good!#like! uhhhh they’ve had a really difficult year for various reasons and we’ve hit so many roadblocks but they went out today and danced#their little hearts out.#my ballet group also showed up and actually performed my choreo properly for the first time ever. with technique!#do they do that in class? never seen it. but they were so good. ahhhhhh.#also the group that I perform with had our final performance as a group after dancing together in one configuration or another for ten years#and it was kind of emotional and there were lots of hugs and tears.#and it’s wild because I’ve seen these kids grow from 9-10 year olds to like…nearly adults and I’m just like…I’m so proud of you guys#they’re all going off into the world to be awesome

Danny is Some Guy with a not so secret admirer.
Part four? Post #four? I don’t know, none of these are exactly in order. Post one, post two, post three.
——
By the time Tim opened the door, Danny had his coffee made and handed to Mia at the register. He resolutely ignored her smug face and went back to making the other orders.
Tim had been a regular long before Danny had started at the coffee shop but it was three days into Danny’s third week when Tim had stumbled in at eight a.m. and did a double take upon seeing Danny. A very obvious double take followed by intense staring before Mia had cleared her throat. The blush that lit up Tim’s face was only rivaled by the one on Danny’s.
He had never had anyone openly stare at him before.
Mia had been insufferable ever since.
It also didn’t help that shortly after their first meeting Tim had started taking his breaks at the little coffee shop. It’s been three weeks, nearly a month and Wayne Enterprise’s CEO went from a bi-weekly regular to an everyday one. (Danny wondered if he should be concerned for the man’s caffeine intake but he only had the one cup every time so probably not.)
Originally, Danny had no plans to talk to Tim. It seemed obvious the guy had a crush on Danny if the constant looks over his laptop were anything to go by and Danny didn’t want to encourage it. Danny barely had time to make new friends let alone start a relationship.
There was also the added problem of what was quickly becoming his bat stalkers. How do you explain to someone that you were being watched by Gotham’s vigilante’s for no reason? (Or worse because he had made a poorly timed sleep-deprived comment.) Danny didn’t think you could without seeming suspicious.
Incidentally though, Danny’s plan went out the window when on a slow afternoon as he was cleaning tables and passed behind Tim. Once he saw the article the other man was reading he snorted.
Bruce Wayne and The Batman? Could This Be A New Romance For Gothams Most Beloved Billionaire?
It was one of those gossip rags that printed things like: Elvis: alive and well and Superman: a mild mannered farm boy? It was all nonsense.
Danny asked Tim why he bothered with the site and Tim responded that he found it amusing to read and that his family had a group chat where they sent the articles to each other.
“Okay. But Batman? Really? Your dad could do so much better.”
“You don’t like Batman?” Tim asked. Danny had slid into the chair next to him and shrugged. “I respect what he does but for as intimidating as he is, he also seems a little silly.”
Tim had given him an incredulous look and Danny hadn’t given him time to ask for an explanation, “and his kids can be just as rude. Like that flying monkey one.” Tim choked on air and Danny politely waited for him to calm down. “Kids? Wait - flying monkey one? Which one -?”
“The one always doing back flips with the blue bird symbol. He’s also a dick that gives hypocritical lectures about fighting.” Danny wouldn’t say he hated the guy but he wasn’t sure how many more lectures he could endure before going ghost and fighting him.
Tim had turned to Danny completely and was watching him with a look of disbelief, “you mean Nightwing?”
“Is that his name? Imma call him Dickwing.”
Tim had started choking again, this time Danny patted his back hoping to help. Yet it was all for not once he kept talking, “I think I’ve only had positive interactions with the one who looks like a walking red flag.”
“Red flag? Do you men hood-?”
“No, although he is definitely a red flag, I mean the other Red one. I’m sorry, I don’t know all these peoples names yet.”
“Danny!” Mia called.
Danny stood and patted Tim, who looked a little shell-shocked, on the shoulder. “Well work calls, see you later Mr. Drake-Wayne.” As he walked away he heard Tim mutter “it’s just Tim.”
(Tim for his part, placed his head in his hands and thought, well at least I have his name now.)
After that first interaction Tim stopped playing the lurker and started to actually talk to Danny and vise versa. Danny never asked if he still had a crush on him, he wasn’t sure he wanted to know.
Unfortunately, their growing friendship had only encoraged Mia as she happily sang “your boyfriend’s here!”
Danny, very maturely, did not stick his tongue out at her. He did however flip her off under the counter like an adult.

Baby Daddy || Jacob Elordi x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Jacob being a protective dad 😌
Warnings: fem!reader
Wc: 475
A/n: can we just agree that Jacob holding a small baby in his HUGE arms would be the cutest and hottest thing ever 😃😭 I need to see this irl. Posting a Coryo fic later today!!! Also really need to do a Jacob Elordi masterlist lol, will do later today!
Tumblr media
Emerging from the grocery store, you held bags in both hands while Jacob effortlessly juggled your one-year-old daughter in one arm and a bag of groceries in the other.
The California sun casts a warm glow as you make your way to the car, Jacob holding your precious daughter, Sydney, in his strong arms. His large frame makes her appear even tinier as he cradles her close.
As you approach the car, Jacob’s keen eyes spot a group of paparazzi in the distance. He instinctively shields Sydney’s face, a protective gesture you’ve both mastered in these public moments.
Jacob glances at you, concern in your eyes, “We should be fine, they’re far away anyways,” Jacob assures you as you unlock the car.
As Jacob secures Sydney in the car seat, you glance over at the paparazzi. Some of them notice Jacob’s protective actions and start snapping pictures even more eagerly.
You could feel their invasive gaze, but your focus remained on Sydney, shielding her from the intrusive lenses from the front seat of the car.
As Jacob buckled up your daughter, he could sense you were uncomfortable, glancing at the paparazzi from time to time. He knew how much it meant to you to keep Sydney’s upbringing away from cameras as much as possible.
“I’m going to go talk to them,” Jacob says as you look at him with surprise. “Are you sure?” You lightly bite your lip as he nods, “Yeah, I’ll be quick,” Is all he says before he shuts the door.
You watch as Jacob makes his way to the group of paparazzi. You couldn’t hear what was being said of course but they seemed understanding about what Jacob was saying to them.
Jacob approached the group with a calm but firm demeanour. “Hey guys, I’m not sure if you’re aware but Y/n and I want to keep our daughter away from the public eyes as much as possible. And I know this is your job but could you please make sure to blur out Sydney’s face in the photos you’ve taken?”
One of the paparazzi’s, seemingly more considerate than the rest, responded, “Sure thing, Jacob. I don’t think we managed to photograph your daughter’s face,” He and the others all take a look through the photo’s they’ve taken whilst showing Jacob.
“But if we find one, we’ll make sure her face is blurred. No problem.” The man says as Jacob nods. “I appreciate it. Have a good day guys.”
As Jacob walked back to the car, you exchanged a relieved glance. As he climbs into the car, you felt a mixture of gratitude and exhaustion from the constant vigilance required to protect your family’s privacy.
You intertwine your hands with Jacob’s, expressing your gratitude, “Thank you for handling that.” A grateful smile adorns your face as he grins, bringing your intertwined hands close to his face and gently kissing your hand.
“Of course, I don’t need to think twice about doing something like that to protect Sydney,” Jacob affirms. He adjusts the rearview mirror, stealing a glance at Sydney in her car seat. Her curious eyes are fixed on the window, captivated by the passing palm trees.
Later that day, you were sent a tweet from Jacob’s sister. It’s from one of the paparazzi who interacted with Jacob earlier. The post details the encounter and emphasises Jacob’s kindness in handling the situation.
The tweet read, “Just had a run-in with Jacob Elordi, and gotta say, he’s one of the nicest celebs I’ve encountered. Asked us to blur out his daughter’s face, and even though we’re paparazzi, he handled it with grace. Big respect for him!”
As you read through the comments, you couldn’t help but smile at the overwhelming support from Jacob’s fans. Messages of admiration for his commitment to Sydney’s privacy flooded the comment section.

Trigger warning ; Physical abuse, violence, emotional abuse.
Pt. 1
୨୧・・・・♡・・・・୨୧
After arriving at the hotel, exhausted and looking as though I haven’t slept in weeks, I pick up the key to my room, which I’m sharing with Sam. I give her a quick nod to let her know I’ll head up to the room, and she simply nods back, already engrossed in a conversation with her boyfriend, Miguel.
With my suitcase in one hand and my bag in the other, I put my AirPods back in and turn on my music before stepping into the elevator. The ride is quiet, and I find myself zoning out until the familiar ding signals that I’ve reached my floor.
Pulling the handle of my suitcase, I step out of the elevator, scrolling through my phone without bothering to look up. Before I know it, I collide with someone and fall to the ground, one of my AirPods tumbling out in the process. Startled, I look up, ready to apologize for not paying attention—but before I can say a word, he beats me to it.
‘Watch where you’re going,’ he says, rolling his eyes in obvious annoyance
‘I’m sorry,’ I say quickly, standing up and grabbing my fallen AirPod.
He sighed, his gaze feeling as though it pierced directly into my soul. He appeared cold and tense. ‘Just don’t let it happen again,’ he said, not giving me a chance to respond before walking away.
I exhaled slowly, gathering my belongings and glancing at my hotel card to find my room number. As I looked around, I realized I had ended up right in front of my hotel room. With a soft sigh, I stepped inside, taking a moment to settle myself. I reminded myself that I still had two hours to prepare before we needed to leave for the city tour. The quiet of the room allowed me to relax for a brief moment, and I moved calmly to unpack and get ready, focusing on the next part of the day without letting the earlier encounter distract me.
As I stood in the bathroom, the cold water from the shower running over me, I couldn’t help but think about the guy from earlier. He was likely my opponent. He was tall, with striking blue eyes and brown hair. There was something about him—he seemed unbothered, almost arrogant, yet calm and tense all at once. The mix of qualities made him difficult to read.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a knock on the door. It was probably Sam, letting me know she had arrived back at the hotel as well. I turned off the shower, quickly blow-drying my hair before slipping into a simple white long-sleeve shirt and grey Nike sweatpants.
Walking out of the bathroom, I grabbed my makeup kit and sat down, ready to get prepared for the evening. The calm of the moment allowed me to focus, shifting my attention away from the earlier encounter and onto the night ahead.
‘Team events will begin tomorrow,’ Sam remarked as she adjusted her outfit in the mirror. I sat quietly, scrolling through my phone, waiting for her to finish and let me know when she was ready to head out. After a few moments, she signaled that she was all set, and we made our way to the lobby to continue with our plans for the evening.
‘So… are you feeling a bit stressed?’ Sam asked, her tone casual as she glanced at me. ‘With the fact that Tory is now in Cobra Kai and you’re the captain?’
Tory had left right when she was about to win against Samantha, which led to me having to compete against Sam for the captain’s position. In the end, I came out on top.
‘No, I’m just worried about Tory, that’s all,’ I replied, stepping out of the elevator. As soon as I did, I felt a pair of eyes boring into me. It was the guy from earlier—the one I had bumped into. Our eyes met for a brief moment, and I quickly looked away, feeling a sudden wave of discomfort wash over me.
I turned to Sam and told her about the encounter, and she glanced at him quickly before nudging me with her elbow, a playful smirk crossing her face.
‘Ow,’I exclaimed, flinching from the sudden nudge, and Sam responded by wiggling her eyebrows mischievously.
I raised an eyebrow, giving her a look that silently reminded her she had a boyfriend. Sam simply raised her hands in mock surrender, grinning, and then walked off toward the bathroom. I waited outside, shaking my head.
The photographer announced that he wanted a group photo with just the captains. I stood next to Robby, both of us smiling for the camera. The photographer then said something about the guy in the back, urging him to smile as well. I glanced over, and there he was—smiling at the camera before his gaze shifted to meet mine. A sigh escaped me as I quickly looked away, a familiar nervous feeling creeping up once again.
The next day, I felt the weight of stress settling on my shoulders—today was the first day of the tournament, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Wanting to shake off my nerves, I left the hotel early to give myself a chance to warm up. As I made my way toward the locker rooms to drop off my things, a voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts. I turned, and there he was—the mysterious guy from yesterday.
He was training with his sensei, who was urging him to move faster. The guy struggled to keep up, failing repeatedly, much to his sensei’s frustration. Unexpectedly, the sensei struck him multiple times, demanding he try again. The guy made another attempt, but once more, he failed and took a few more hits. As he turned to face me, our eyes locked for a brief moment.
I quickly looked away, eager to leave without drawing attention. I hurried into the locker rooms, hoping he hadn’t noticed me. The encounter left me unsettled, and I stood there in silence, trying to process what had just happened. I didn’t know how to feel about the situation.
The first competition ended in a swift, crushing loss. As I left the court, I couldn’t help but feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on me. I kept replaying the match in my mind, second-guessing every decision and wondering if I had let my team down. It felt like the entire tournament might slip away because of me. Despite my best efforts to stay calm, the guilt and stress gnawed at me.
I was the first to retreat to the locker room, hoping to find some solace and a bottle of water to clear my head. But as I opened the storage, I saw that all the bottles were empty. I sighed, trying to steady the nervous energy bubbling under the surface. Deciding to head to the canteen, I reminded myself that there were still two hours before the next event. That gave me time to regroup and pull myself together—or so I hoped.
As I entered the canteen, my eyes landed almost immediately on him. He stood near the fridge, tall and poised as ever, with his hair styled perfectly, as if he hadn’t just come from the chaos of competition. My stomach tightened, and my heart began to race, though I desperately willed it to stop. Of all people to see right now, it had to be him. I didn’t want to face him—especially not now, when I felt like a failure. My shoulders tensed as I resolved to stick to my plan: grab a bottle, stay invisible, and leave as quickly as possible.
I moved swiftly to the fridge, avoiding eye contact and keeping my head down. My thoughts were a swirl of self-consciousness and unease. Did he notice me? Was he going to say anything about the match? Every moment I spent near him felt like an eternity, but, to my relief, I managed to grab the water and make it to the line without incident.
As I stood waiting my turn to pay, I tried to focus on anything but the awkwardness still lingering from the match. My hands were fidgety, and I shifted my weight slightly, anxious to get out of there. Then, as if the universe had decided I needed one more challenge, my opponent from the earlier competition lined up behind me. I could feel his presence without even turning around— it was palpable, a stark and unwelcome reminder of the loss I was already struggling to push from my mind.
When it was finally my turn to pay, I reached into my pocket and froze. My wallet wasn’t there. A cold wave of panic swept over me as I realized I’d left it in my bag back in the locker room. Feeling my cheeks flush with embarrassment, I quickly turned to the cashier and asked if she could give me a moment to retrieve it. Her response was curt and final: the line was too long, and she couldn’t wait.
Humiliated, I had no choice but to leave the canteen empty-handed. The sting of rejection added another layer to my already fragile mood. I stepped outside into the crisp air, taking slow, deliberate breaths in an effort to calm myself. I stretched, more out of habit than necessity, and tried to regain a sense of control.
Even as the fresh air began to soothe my nerves, the doubt lingered. It felt like everything was spiraling, and I couldn’t help but feel that it was all my fault. Still, I reminded myself that there was time to turn things around. The tournament wasn’t over yet, and I couldn’t let this moment define the rest of the day. Though the insecurity remained, I resolved to keep pushing forward, however shaky my confidence felt.
After returning to the locker room, I sat down quietly next to my bag, letting the silence of the space settle around me. As I unzipped the bag, my eyes were drawn to two ice-cold water bottles lying inside, their surfaces glistening faintly. I paused, blinking at them in mild confusion, trying to piece together how I hadn’t noticed them earlier. I looked up, my thoughts momentarily scattered, unsure whether to feel relieved, amused, or simply puzzled by the discovery.
‘Was anyone here?’ I asked Demetri, holding up the bottles of water and glancing at him with a mix of curiosity and confusion. My voice was calm, but my mind raced slightly, trying to make sense of their sudden appearance.
‘Yeah, the girl from Iron Dragons, Zara, I think,’ Demetri explained quickly. ‘She said you needed some water but forgot your wallet, so she brought these for you.’
The Iron Dragons—that was the team the tall guy was from. From what I knew, Zara was their captain. I hadn’t expected her to do something like this, but I couldn’t help feeling a slight wave of gratitude. I decided I would thank her later, once the next competition was over. For now, I just needed to focus on what was ahead.
I grabbed the water bottle, a quiet wave of gratitude passing through me. It was a small gesture, but it made a difference in that moment. Taking a deep breath, I decided to search for my teammates and gather them together. I needed to rally them, give them a motivational speech, even though, deep down, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the loss in the first competition was mostly my fault. Still, I knew I had to set that aside and focus on getting everyone back on track for the next round.
It was time for the next event, and the pressure was mounting. There were different categories, but we lost almost all of them. The only victories came from the 2vs1 match, where Miguel secured a win, and the Bojutsu (staff technique/ art of stick fighting), where I managed to come out on top.
The following day brought a small victory—we won once, but it came with its own challenges. Our task was to force the opponent to fall from the podium, and only Miguel managed to win and stay on it. The weight of it all hit harder when I saw our team nearly at the bottom of the standings. The stress was becoming overwhelming; we were running out of time, and the gap between us and the top seemed to grow wider with each passing moment.
The next event was the elimination phase of Sakai Taikai, and as the moment drew closer, an overwhelming sense of anxiety crept back into my mind. I couldn’t shake the thought that I might lose because of my own small mistakes, and it was a nagging feeling that seemed to grow stronger with each passing second.
It was a 2v2 on a high platform, a challenging setup that added to the pressure. The Iron Dragons went first with their demonstration. The tall guy—who I knew to be an exceptional competitor—was flawless. He moved with such grace and precision that he wasn’t even touched once by his opponent. I couldn’t help but watch in awe as he maneuvered effortlessly across the platform, his every movement exuding confidence and skill. Before I could think much more about it, I overheard Demetri and Hawk talking nearby. Their conversation snapped me out of my thoughts as they referred to the tall guy as a “monster” because of his skill. The words hit me differently than I expected—guilt crept in. It didn’t feel right to hear them speak about him behind his back like that, especially when he was right there, demonstrating his abilities so effortlessly. I felt a pang of discomfort, as if they were undermining his talent. I couldn’t let it slide.
‘Don’t call him a monster,’ I exclaimed, my voice firm. ‘You don’t know him or what he deals with.’
They exchanged glances before looking at me, their expressions softening. I could see the apology in their eyes, and for a moment, the tension in the air seemed to ease. They nodded slightly, acknowledging what I had said, and I felt a small sense of relief. It wasn’t right to judge someone so quickly, and I wasn’t going to stand by and let it happen.
They announced that it was our turn. Roby and I were the first to step onto the podium to fight. As I climbed the stairs, the height of the platform hit me all at once, and my knees felt like they might give way, soft as cotton. Despite the flutter of nerves, I focused on doing my best, trying to shake off the unease.
Then, suddenly, our eyes met—the tall guy again. For a brief moment, I froze, distracted by the connection. My opponent saw the opening and almost pushed me off the platform. Just as I was about to lose my footing, Roby took a risk and managed to eliminate two opponents at once. The crowd erupted in cheers, and I heard the rush of feet as the other competitors came charging in, with Sam joining me on the platform.
Time passed, and it all came down to the final two opponents. Now, it was Miguel’s turn to step in and help me finish it. As we worked together to eliminate them, I felt a small surge of pride. I hadn’t fallen once, and that, in itself, was enough to bring a little bit of happiness in the midst of the chaos.
Everyone in our group was cheering after the competition. We were relieved and excited that we hadn’t been eliminated and that we still had a chance to continue in Sakai Taikai. But amidst the celebration, Miguel was nowhere to be found.
Just as Robby and I were catching our breath, we were called to the side by our Senseis. Their faces were serious, and I could feel the shift in the air as they delivered the bad news. One of our Senseis, along with Miguel, had to leave immediately. Miguel’s mother had been hospitalized, and there were complications with her pregnancy.
The weight of the situation hit me hard. Not only were we down one Sensei, but we were also losing a teammate. I couldn’t help but feel a deep concern for Miguel’s mother. I hoped she would pull through and that everything would turn out okay. It was hard to focus on anything else when I knew Miguel’s family needed him, and I hoped she’d recover quickly.
While everyone else was out partying at some random club in Barcelona, I found myself binge-watching a film series. After a while, I decided I needed a change of pace and thought a walk along the beach might clear my mind. I threw on a white hoodie and some black leggings, grabbed a bottle of water for the walk, and headed out. The evening air was cool, and I was ready for a little solitude by the ocean.
I walked for a moment, my thoughts still lingering on the events of the day, until I found myself at the beach. As I looked around, my eyes landed on someone standing nearby, shirtless. I blinked, and as I drew closer, I realized it was the tall guy from earlier.
The brown-haired boy was diligently practicing a series of movements, each one executed with remarkable precision and fluidity. Despite my exhaustion and the haze clouding my thoughts, I couldn’t seem to pull my gaze away. There was something captivating about the way he moved, as though every motion was deliberate and purposeful. My fatigue seemed to fade into the background as I became mesmerized by his focus and technique. It was almost as if everything around me disappeared, and I was entirely absorbed in watching him. I couldn’t help but wonder about the discipline and dedication that went into mastering such skills, but at the same time, I felt too drained to even process the thoughts fully. But then, my attention shifted when I noticed some red marks on his back. They stood out against his skin, drawing my gaze away from his fluid motions, and I couldn’t help but wonder how they had gotten there.
Suddenly, he executed a move that caused him to turn and face me directly. His expression shifted from focus to surprise, and for a moment, he froze, caught off guard by my presence. It was as if the sudden shift in direction had momentarily thrown him off balance, and we stood there in an awkward silence, both taken aback by the unexpected encounter.
‘Oh… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you,’ I exclaimed, taking a step closer. As I moved, the cold wind hit me, sending a shiver down my spine. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to ward off the chill, but my attention remained on him, feeling the awkwardness between us linger in the air.
‘Uhm… I’m Y/n, by the way,’ I said, tilting my head to the side, feeling a bit shy and insecure. My voice was soft, unsure of how to break the silence. I couldn’t help but feel a little awkward standing there, hoping my introduction might ease the tension, even though my nerves made it hard to feel at ease.
‘Axel,’ he said, his voice a little stiff as he shifted slightly, looking tense and uncomfortable. I could tell he wasn’t quite sure how to handle the situation either, and his unease mirrored my own. The air between us felt a little thick, and I found myself wishing I could think of something to say to make it less awkward.
‘That’s a pretty cool kata. What’s it called?’ I asked softly, hoping to break the awkward silence. My voice was tentative, but I genuinely wanted to know. It felt like the right way to ease the tension between us, even if I was still a little unsure of myself.
‘I’m not supposed to talk to the opponents,’ he exclaimed, his tone a bit stubborn. There was a hint of defensiveness in his words, as if he was trying to set a boundary, but it only added to the awkwardness. I could tell he was trying to stick to some kind of rule, and I immediately felt a bit embarrassed for having spoken up.
‘We’re not on the mat,’ I said with a small smile, feeling the blush creep up my nose. I wasn’t sure if it was the cold, the embarrassment, or my own shyness causing the heat to rise in my cheeks, but I tried to brush it off. The awkwardness was still there, but I hoped my attempt at humor might ease the tension just a bit.
‘It’s pretty late for training,’ I exclaimed, sighing as I tried to warm up my hands by rubbing them together. The cold was starting to get to me, and I couldn’t help but feel the discomfort in my fingers. I glanced at Axel, hoping to ease the awkwardness with a casual comment, but the tension still lingered between us.
‘Always time for training,’ he said, his tone firm and matter-of-fact. His words carried a quiet determination, and for a moment, I felt like I was glimpsing a side of him that was completely focused, almost unshakable.
After he said that, he reached down to grab his shirt from the sand. As he moved, the red marks on his back became more visible, standing out sharply against his skin. I couldn’t help but notice them, the vividness of the marks raising questions in my mind.
‘Whoa, whoa… what happened to your back?’ I asked cautiously as he pulled his shirt over his head, my voice filled with concern as I took a few small steps forward. I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I was overstepping, but the marks were too striking to ignore. My curiosity and worry outweighed my hesitation.
‘Uh, from the bo staff competition,’ he answered quickly, his tone dismissive as he avoided meeting my concerned gaze. It was clear he didn’t want to dwell on it, brushing it off as if it were nothing, but the marks told a different story.
‘Nobody’s been able to land a point on you yet,’ I said, my tone light but observant. His reaction was immediate—he shifted uncomfortably, avoiding my gaze even more than before. The tension in his demeanor made me pause, debating whether or not to bring up what I had seen earlier during his training with his sensei. The memory of those moments weighed on my thoughts, but I wasn’t sure if addressing it would make things better or worse.
‘I saw what happened with your sensei,’ I said softly, breaking the silence. My tone was careful, not wanting to sound intrusive, but I felt the need to acknowledge what I had witnessed.
‘My sensei wants me to be the best. It’s because of him I never lose.’ he said coldly, his sharp tone cutting through the air as he looked directly at me. His gaze was steady, but there was an edge to it, as though he was daring me to challenge his words.
‘There are other ways of teaching,’ I said, my voice laced with concern. I couldn’t help but feel worried, sensing that his sensei’s approach might be pushing him too hard. I wanted to say more, but I wasn’t sure if I should press further.
‘I mean, I got to admit, your dojo’s pretty great,’ I exclaimed, offering him a friendly smile. I hoped my words would ease the tension, acknowledging his dedication while keeping the conversation light. Despite my concern, I didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable.
‘Thank you,’ Axel said, his tone softer, looking a little more at ease now. ‘You’re pretty… Your… Your dojo’s pretty good too.’ He added quickly, a small blush creeping onto his cheeks, though I suspected it might have been as much from the cold as from his sudden shyness. His words caught me off guard, and I couldn’t help but smile, feeling the tension ease between us.
‘We try,’ I said with a small smile, hoping to reassure him. I could see the tension easing slightly, and I wanted to keep things light. The moment felt less awkward, and I was relieved for it.
‘Mind if I join?’ Axel asked, and the question caught me off guard. I hadn’t expected him to ask, but there was a hint of curiosity in his voice that made me pause for a moment.
‘You want to switch dojo’s?’ I asked, raising my eyebrows in shock. The idea hadn’t crossed my mind, and I was curious about why he’d bring it up. It seemed like a bold move, especially given how dedicated he was to his current dojo.
‘Your walk. I was going back to hotel.’ he said, pointing towards the route I was supposed to take. It took me a moment to process what he meant, but then I realized he was offering to join me on the walk back, which felt unexpected but kind.
‘Oh, yeah,’ I laughed awkwardly, caught off guard by the offer. ‘Yeah, sure,’ I added quickly, hoping to reassure him. As we started walking, I couldn’t help but notice the height difference between us—he towered over me, and I felt a little small in comparison, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was just another thing that made the moment feel a little surreal.
As we walked along the beach, the soothing sound of the waves crashing in the background, our conversation turned to travel. We began talking about the countries we had visited, sharing stories of our experiences in different places. The gentle breeze and the calming rhythm of the ocean made the conversation feel easy and natural, and for the first time that night, I felt completely at ease. From what he mentioned, it seemed like he had traveled to every country in Europe. He shared details about different cities and cultures he’d encountered, his experiences coming across as both vast and fascinating. It made me realize just how much he had seen and done, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at his travels. He also asked me a few questions, curious about my thoughts on Barcelona. He wanted to know what I thought of the city, what I hoped to visit, and what I wanted to do while I was here. His questions felt genuine, and I found myself sharing more than I had planned, enjoying the flow of our conversation. It was nice to talk about my plans without feeling rushed or pressured.
We laughed and enjoyed the moment, the conversation flowing easily, until one of our opponents from Tory’s team approached us with a few of his friends. The sudden interruption broke the easy atmosphere, and I could feel a shift in the air as they came closer.
‘How cute!’ Kwon exclaimed, tilting his head in sarcastic awe. His tone was playful yet teasing, as if he was trying to get a reaction from us. It was clear he wasn’t just making a casual comment, but rather trying to stir things up a bit
‘Little rival team play time, huh?’ he said with a grin, his words slurring slightly. It was clear he was definitely not sober, and his carefree smile made the situation feel a bit awkward. His tone was light, but there was an edge to it, as if he was trying to provoke something.
‘Just ignore them,’ I said with a sigh, glancing at Axel. I could feel the tension creeping in, but I didn’t want to let it ruin the moment. I hoped Axel would let it slide too, as it was clear Kwon’s words were meant more to tease than to start a real confrontation. I tried to walk past them, but they shifted right in front of me, giving me a big, smug smile. It was like they were blocking my path on purpose, clearly enjoying the chance to get under my skin.
‘Say the magic words,’ Kwon laughed, raising his eyebrows playfully. His grin widened, clearly enjoying the situation more than he should.
‘Move aside,’ I said, my tone laced with clear annoyance. I wasn’t in the mood for their games, and I made sure they knew it as I stood my ground.
‘Wrong,’ he said sternly, his playful demeanor shifting into something more confrontational. The tone in his voice made it clear he wasn’t going to let me off that easily.
‘Just leave us alone,” I sighed, frustration creeping into my voice. I was done with their teasing and just wanted to move on, hoping they’d finally get the hint. Kwon kneeled to my height and smiled, his expression mocking yet somehow amused. It was as if he thought the whole situation was a game, and I was the one missing the joke.
‘Only if you say please,’ he laughed, getting uncomfortably close, his face now just inches from mine. The mocking tone in his voice made my irritation grow, but I stood my ground, refusing to let him get under my skin.
That was the final straw for Axel. His expression darkened as his fist clenched tightly at his side. One of Kwon’s friends caught the movement and took it as a signal to strike, delivering a swift kick to Axel’s stomach. To my surprise, Axel barely even flinched, standing firm as if the attack hadn’t phased him.
At the same moment, the other friend of Kwon lunged toward me. Axel reacted immediately, dealing with his opponent effortlessly, his precision and speed almost intimidating. Inspired by his confidence, I focused on my attacker, countering their moves and managing to take them down just as effectively. The entire exchange was over in moments, leaving Kwon’s friends clearly outmatched.
Axel and I turned our attention to Kwon, who stood his ground with an overly confident smirk. ‘Come on, I’ll take you both. Let’s go,’ he taunted, his bravado thick in the air. But before he could make a move, one of his friends grabbed his arm and urged him to stop.
‘Let’s get out of here. The cops are coming,’ his friend said, the urgency in his voice cutting through Kwon’s bravado.
Sure enough, the faint wail of police sirens echoed in the distance. Without hesitation, Axel and I exchanged a quick glance and bolted in the opposite direction, heading back toward the beach.
By the time we stopped, both of us were out of breath, the cool ocean breeze offering some relief as we tried to collect ourselves. The tension of the moment slowly gave way to exhaustion, the sounds of the waves a stark contrast to the chaos we’d just escaped.
‘Cobra Kai… those assholes,’ I muttered between breaths, my frustration evident as I leaned forward, hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath. The adrenaline was still coursing through me, but the tension was beginning to ebb, replaced by a simmering annoyance at what had just unfolded.
‘Nice round kick,’ he said, his tone genuine as his eyes stayed fixed on me. There was a flicker of admiration in his gaze, and it caught me off guard for a moment. I straightened up, still trying to steady my breath, feeling a mix of pride and self-consciousness under his watchful look.
‘Nice counterstrike,’ I said between breaths, managing a small smile.
Axel returned the gesture with a genuine smile of his own, his gaze never wavering from mine. There was something steady and unwavering about the way he looked at me, and it made me feel oddly at ease despite everything that had just happened.
For a moment, the only sounds between us were the crashing waves in the distance and our labored breaths as we worked to steady ourselves. The adrenaline was beginning to fade, leaving behind a strange sense of calm in the cool night air.
I exhaled deeply, glancing around to make sure the coast was clear. My eyes scanned the area cautiously, the sound of the waves in the background grounding me. After another moment, I sighed again and checked once more before turning to Axel.
‘I think the coast is clear,’ I said softly, breaking the silence.
When I looked at him, I realized he was still watching me, his expression unreadable but intent. There was something in his gaze—an almost admiring quality—that made my heart skip for a moment. I quickly glanced away, unsure of how to react to the unexpected attention.
I took a quick glance at Axel, my heart racing when I saw he was still looking at me. Our eyes locked, and something shifted in the air between us. Feeling the pull, I couldn’t look away and decided to meet his gaze.
He stepped closer, closing the distance between us. I had to tilt my head up to meet his eyes, the height difference suddenly feeling more pronounced. He gently cupped my cheek with one hand, his touch warm and reassuring. With the other, he tucked a stray lock of hair behind my ear, his fingers brushing lightly against my skin. His expression softened, his eyes flickering between mine and my lips.
The closeness was intoxicating, and before I knew it, he began to lean in, his face inches from mine. My breath caught in my throat, and for a split second, I was ready to give in. But then, a sudden rush of doubt and hesitation swept over me.
‘Woah, no, no…’ I stammered, taking a few quick steps back. The air between us suddenly felt thick with tension, and I could feel the familiar rush of awkwardness creeping back, just like it had at the beginning of our conversation.
I avoided his gaze, focusing instead on the ground, unsure of what to do next. The moment that had felt so intense just moments ago now seemed like a mistake. Why had I pulled away? I had no idea, but the uncertainty left me with a knot in my stomach. Axel didn’t say anything right away, and for a second, the silence stretched between us like an unspoken question hanging in the air.
I tried to steady my breathing, hoping the moment would pass quickly, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had just made things even more awkward.
‘I-I’m sorry… I thought-‘ Axel started, his words trailing off as he struggled to find the right thing to say.
He seemed just as uncertain as I was, his expression caught somewhere between confusion and embarrassment. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, and it made me feel even more guilty for pulling away.
I bit my lip, unsure of how to break the silence. The tension hung thick between us, but neither of us seemed to know how to ease it. It felt like everything had shifted in an instant, and now I wasn’t sure how to fix it without making it worse.
‘It’s already after curfew. We should get going,’ His voice was cold, the warmth from earlier now completely gone.
The shift was immediate. The tension between us that had been so palpable moments before evaporated, but not in a way that made me feel better. Instead, it felt like we had just snapped back to some kind of awkward normalcy—where he was distant and aloof again, and I was left fumbling for the right words.
I couldn’t tell if he was still hurt by my reaction or if he was simply shutting himself off, but either way, the walls between us were up once more, and I wasn’t sure how to bring them down.
The walk to the hotel was silent—so silent it felt suffocating. Each step felt heavier, the air thick with unspoken words. The usual ease between us was gone, replaced by an awkward distance I couldn’t seem to close.
I stopped abruptly, feeling a knot tighten in my chest. Axel walked a few steps further before halting, turning back to look at me, his expression confused.
“Is something wrong?” he asked, his voice softer than it had been since… well, since everything had changed.
I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t even know what I was feeling anymore. But I could tell that whatever had just happened between us—whatever I had done—had shifted something. I wasn’t sure what it was, but it felt like the space between us had grown wider than it had ever been before.
I grabbed my phone and glanced at the clock—it was 5 p.m. In an hour, the sunrise would begin. A sudden urge to be by the ocean took over me, the need for some space, for clarity. I sighed quietly to myself and turned to Axel.
‘I’m going back to the beach,’ I said softly. ‘You can head back to the hotel. Goodnight.’
I gave him a small wave and started walking away, my footsteps steady, but my mind still racing.
But then I heard them—footsteps. I stopped, turned, and looked back. It was Axel, walking a few paces behind me. We locked eyes, and for a moment, everything else faded. His gaze was soft, unreadable, but it felt like there was so much unsaid in the space between us. He didn’t say anything, not a single word, but his presence spoke louder than anything could.
I stood still for a moment, unsure of what to do next. Neither of us moved, but neither of us looked away either. The silence lingered, heavy and familiar.
I smiled softly, then turned back and began walking toward the beach. By the time I arrived, the air was colder than I expected, A crisp chill in the air made me pull my hoodie tighter around me, trying to keep the cold at bay. I sat down, wrapping my arms around myself, trying to find warmth in the stillness of the night.
Without a word, Axel appeared beside me. He gently draped his jacket over my shoulders, the warmth of it wrapping around me, offering more comfort than I realized I needed. I looked up, my breath catching for a second as I met his gaze, but he was already taking a few steps back, distancing himself.
He sat down a bit further away, his eyes fixed on the beach and the waves rolling in under the dark sky. The moonlight reflected off the water, casting a soft glow on everything, but I found my attention drifting back to Axel. I couldn’t help it. His quiet demeanor, the way he observed the world around him—it was like he was in tune with everything. For a moment, I caught myself admiring him, his profile soft in the moonlight, his posture relaxed yet strong.
The silence between us felt comfortable, not awkward. It was as though, in this moment, there was no need for words. We just existed together, the sound of the waves, the chill in the air, and the quiet understanding between us.
The sun was about to rise any minute, and I glanced over at Axel, who looked like he was on the verge of falling asleep. I felt guilty for dragging him out here. Standing up, I walked over to him and handed his jacket back, noticing how cold it was and how he only had a sleeveless shirt on. Without saying anything, I sat next to him, gently placing his head on my shoulder, offering him the warmth I could.
I heard Axel sigh softly, and when I looked over at him, he seemed lost in thought. My gaze drifted to the waves, and just then, the sun began to rise, painting the sky with hues of pink and orange. The sight made me straighten my posture, while Axel stretched and yawned, still staring at the horizon in silence. I couldn’t help but smile at the peaceful moment, before standing up and grabbing my phone to capture a photo of the sunrise.
I gently patted Axel’s head, feeling his messy hair beneath my hand. He looked so relaxed, yet on the verge of falling asleep. He looked up at me, and I gave him a soft smile, an unfamiliar flutter starting in my stomach. He slowly stood up, taking a few steps back before raising his phone. I turned to look at him, and to my surprise, he was taking a photo of me with the sunrise behind me. I couldn’t help but smile wider, feeling a faint blush creeping up my nose as I realized how much I enjoyed this moment.
As Axel put his phone down, I walked over to him, unable to resist the urge to give him a big hug. There were no words exchanged, just the sound of silence, the gentle lapping of the waves against the shore, and the warmth of the moment. As we pulled apart, the sunlight hit Axel’s face, casting a golden glow. He squinted slightly from the brightness, but the way the light accentuated his features made him even more captivating.
Without thinking, I reached out, cupping his cheek gently. He looked down at me with a soft, almost questioning gaze, and I couldn’t quite place the feeling swirling in my chest. Maybe it was the exhaustion from the long day, the weight of everything that had happened since the Sekai Taikai, or maybe it was just the way Axel made me feel like I was losing control of my thoughts.
I leaned in, my hands cradling his face, giving him one last, lingering look. His breath caught slightly, and for a moment, I hesitated, unsure of what was driving me. But the pull between us was undeniable. Without thinking further, I closed the space between us, pressing my lips to his.
The moment our lips met, everything seemed to pause. It wasn’t forceful or rushed, but rather soft, tentative—like we were both unsure yet certain at the same time. The warmth from his skin, the faint scent of the ocean mixed with the remnants of his cologne, surrounded me. I felt the gentle press of his lips against mine, a quiet reassurance, as though he was waiting for me to pull away if I needed to.
I didn’t.
Instead, I leaned into him just slightly, feeling the way his hand hesitated at my waist before it gently rested there, steadying both of us. His lips moved slowly, carefully, as if savoring the moment. There was a vulnerability in it, an unspoken question, and it made my heart race in a way I hadn’t expected.
Time seemed to stretch, the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore fading into the background as everything else became a blur. It was just the two of us, caught in this quiet, intimate exchange that somehow spoke louder than any words could.
When we finally pulled apart, my head rested on his chest, breathless. My heart was pounding, my body still humming from the kiss. His hand gently brushed a strand of hair from my face, his eyes soft with something that felt like understanding—maybe even a little awe. Neither of us said anything, but in the silence, there was a shared certainty. It had happened.
Walking back to the hotel was quiet, but not in an uncomfortable way. It was that kind of silence where everything felt right, where words weren’t needed to fill the space. We just enjoyed each other’s company, the soft rhythm of our footsteps in sync.
When we reached my hotel room, I turned to face him, my hands resting gently on his shoulders. Before either of us could say anything, he leaned in, and we kissed again. This time, it was different. It was deeper, more intense, as if we were trying to memorize every sensation in case it was the last time. The kiss held a sense of urgency, an unspoken longing. Even though we both knew we’d see each other again that evening, in that moment, it felt like saying goodbye.
We pulled back reluctantly, but neither of us wanted to let go. Axel gave me a quick, soft kiss on the lips before stepping into the elevator. As the door began to close, I waved at him, my cheeks flushed with a mix of warmth and the excitement of the moment.
The elevator door closed with a soft ding, and I turned to face my room, my heart still racing. I knocked on the door, hoping Sam would be inside, but there was no response. No sign of life from the other side. Sighing, I leaned against the door, feeling a little deflated but still smiling, the feeling of Axel’s kiss lingering on my lips.
I leaned against the wall for a few minutes, the silence of the hallway around me, letting my mind replay the moments with Axel. Then, my phone buzzed, snapping me out of my thoughts. I glanced at the screen, surprised to see a notification: Axel had followed me on Instagram.
A smile tugged at my lips as I quickly tapped the follow button to return the gesture. Right after, I saw the message pop up from him. My heart skipped a beat as I opened it.
‘Have a nice sleep. Thank you for today,’
I sighed, smiling to myself as I replayed the events of the night in my head. The warmth from our kiss still lingered, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of happiness that was hard to shake. But then, suddenly, a thought hit me—I didn’t have a room to go to.
My heart skipped a beat as I realized that Sam was probably still out and I hadn’t made any arrangements for the night. I glanced at the empty hallway, feeling a little lost. The idea of wandering around the hotel wasn’t exactly appealing
‘Axel, could you do me a favor?’ I typed, my fingers pausing before I hit send.
‘Of course, what is it?’ The text said and I sighed.
‘I seem to have forgotten my room key, and I don’t really want to wake up Sam. Could you help me out and let me crash in your room for the night? Just until morning,’ I texted, hitting send before I could second-guess myself.
I smiled, feeling a mix of relief and excitement as I read his message. Room 415. I quickly grabbed my things and made my way to the elevator. My heart raced a little faster than usual, but this time it wasn’t from anxiety—it was more of an anticipation.
As I stood waiting for the elevator doors to open, my phone buzzed again. Another notification from Axel.
‘Don’t worry, the bed’s big enough. You can relax.’
I chuckled softly to myself, feeling even more at ease. With a quick breath, I stepped into the elevator, and the doors closed behind me. It wasn’t much longer before I reached his floor.
I walked down the hallway, my footsteps almost echoing in the quiet of the night. When I arrived at his door, I hesitated for a moment before knocking softly.
The door opened almost immediately, and Axel stood there with a relaxed smile on his face, clearly having been waiting for me.
‘Hey,’ he greeted, stepping aside to let me in. ‘Make yourself at home.’
I stepped inside, feeling a warm sense of comfort wash over me. The quiet intimacy of the room felt calming, and I couldn’t help but feel a little more at peace.
I looked at Axel, taking in his casual yet somehow perfect appearance: a black hoodie, a white shirt underneath, and grey sweatpants that somehow made him look effortlessly handsome. There was a comfort in the way he stood, relaxed but confident.
I walked up to him, my heart pounding a little faster, the distance between us growing smaller with each step. Standing on my tiptoes, I gently cupped his face before leaning in and kissing him softly. The kiss was light at first, tentative, but as I started to pull away, he caught me by the waist, pulling me closer. His lips met mine again, this time with more urgency, more passion. The kiss deepened, our connection intensifying, as if neither of us wanted to let go of this moment.
My hands found their way to his chest, feeling the warmth of his body through his hoodie, while his arms wrapped around me, holding me close. The room around us faded away, and all that mattered was the feeling of his lips on mine, the way his touch made my heart race. It was a kiss that said more than words could, a kiss that made everything else feel insignificant.
After some time, we reluctantly pulled away, the lingering warmth of the kiss still filling the air. I yawned, suddenly feeling how exhausted I was, the weight of the day catching up to me. Axel, noticing, gently handed me some clothes, and I smiled gratefully at him before heading into the bathroom.
The shower was quick but refreshing, the hot water washing away the tension and fatigue. I quickly braided my hair, feeling a little more awake as I stepped out of the bathroom. When I emerged, I saw Axel lying on the mattress on the floor, his eyes closed, clearly trying to get some rest. His posture was relaxed, and he seemed so at ease in the room, even though the circumstances weren’t ideal.
I paused for a moment, watching him. There was something so comforting about how he looked there, in his own little world, yet still so present with me. With a small sigh, I walked over to the edge of the mattress, sitting down beside him. He opened one eye, glancing up at me before offering a sleepy smile.
‘Getting some sleep now?’ I asked softly, trying not to disturb his calm.
‘Yeah, just waiting for you,’ he murmured, his voice thick with sleepiness. ‘But, I’m not going to last long.’
I smile. ‘Why are you on the floor?’ I ask softly, gently caressing his cheek. ‘You can sleep with me if you’d like.’
Axel hesitated for a moment, his gaze softening as he looked up at me. The offer hung in the air between us, quiet but filled with unspoken understanding. He blinked slowly, clearly processing my words.
‘I didn’t want to make things awkward,’ he said, his voice low, almost hesitant. ‘I figured you’d prefer your space.’
I smiled, brushing my thumb across his cheek gently. ‘It’s not awkward,’ I reassured him. ‘You’re always welcome to be close. Don’t worry about it.’
He looked at me for a second longer before giving a small, almost shy smile. ‘Thanks.’
Without another word, he shifted, moving toward the bed, his body still tense but clearly relieved. He laid down next to me, a little awkwardly at first, but then his body relaxed as he settled in.
I pulled the blanket over both of us, my hand finding his, squeezing it gently. The warmth between us was comforting, and for a moment, everything felt right. We both closed our eyes, the silence between us now peaceful and easy, as we drifted off to sleep together.

the weeks that followed the soft touches and heated kisses were, to say the least, awkward.
carmen has never been the strongest communicator, and working long hours at the bear conveniently meant they didn’t really see much of each other.
unluckily for him, she conveniently seemed to be home when he had invited claire over to talk.
in his defense, it was a late night, heat of the moment decision. one in which he was caught in a weak spot–feeling lonely and, admittedly, thinking obsessively of his roommate. a decision he deeply regretted the following day, when he had checked his messages and saw she said yes.
claire came over for morning coffee when carmy decided to go into work late. she gave him a enthusiastic greeting when he opened the door, rushing forward to hug him. it didn’t feel right, but he reciprocated.
“so good to see you, carm,” she told him, warmly.
“hey, you too,” eyes glancing over to the clock beside the door, “you’re early.”
she pulled back, smiling.
“i thought you’d be happy to have more time with me.”
he gestured her in and shut the door. he hadn’t really wanted her to come at all once he woke up, but how could she have known that?
he felt stupid.
“i, am” he replied unenthusiastically, “but my, um…. my roommate is still home.”
“you have a roommate now?” she asked.
“yeah, just for a while. want to go outside?” he questioned, eyes darting to the stairs.
“can’t we just sit at the table? it’s cold out.” claire followed his gaze to the staircase.
he paused, sighing.
“okay, yeah. let’s sit at the table.” hand running through his hair, pulling slightly. he forced himself to sit and meet her gaze, asking her how she’s been, trying to pay attention. trying to care.
a few minutes into their conversation, he heard soft footsteps approaching from behind.
“goodmorning,” his roommate called out, smiling at claire. carmen whipped his head around. she was dressed for work. she looked good.
“oh. hi,” claire returned, “you’re carmy’s roommate?” the surprise evident in her voice.
“only short term,” she replied, shooting carmen a glance, “and you are?”
“i’m claire,” she returned with a smile, “i’m his-”
“she’s my friend.” carmy interrupted, watching as claire’s eyebrows shot up at this.
“umm, we’re a little more than friends,” claire laughed, turning to his roommate, “me and carm have known eachother since we were kids. and we dated for a while, didn’t we, bear?”
he watched as his roommate widened her eyes a bit, nodding.
“how sweet. you guys are so cute together, you should date again,” sickly enthusiasm rung from her voice, “nice to meet you claire, but i’ve gotta get to work.”
“so nice meeting you! i’ll see you around.”
his roommate didn’t respond, quickly walking to the kitchen to grab a thermos of coffee then rushing out the door, letting it slam behind her.
“she’s cute,” claire complimented, “should i be worried?” her tone joking, but still locking eyes with carmen. he stayed silent, rubbing a hand over his face, then exhaling.
“listen, claire, you, uh…. you’ve gotta go. i’m sorry for inviting you.”
“what?”
he left for work as soon as she was out the door, trying to distract himself from the reminder of all the people he had hurt so early in the morning.
besides that tense interaction, he didn't see his roommate at all for about a week and a half.
that didn’t mean he wouldn’t still think about her, though. in fact, it felt like he couldn’t focus on anything else—the night of their hungry kisses and gentle touches playing like a loop in his head.
he thinks of how responsive she was, how her lips felt. how he longed to hear her beg for him.
almost two whole weeks passed, and he still wasn’t man enough to face her, making sure he was in the restaurant until late at night and out of the apartment extra early in the morning.
he scrubbed at the stovetop, remembering the smell of her skin. yearning for it. he stood at the expo and barked directions, skin prickling with the memory of her touch. the slight drag of her nails across his abdomen. how eager she was.
that morning, as the sun just began to flood through the windows, he found himself passing by her room, glancing through the open door.
he stopped himself as soon as he passed, taking a step backwards to get another look.
she lay sleeping on her side, facing away from him, one leg resting on top of the duvet. her breath was steadily rising and falling, big shirt was bunched up over her waist, allowing him the pleasure of gliding his eyes along the curve of her bare waist. he savors the moment, gaze gliding down to her hip, then falling on the little blue pair of underwear that clung to her ass.
and yes, he felt like a creep, but he still continued to stand there and watch her for a few minutes, wishing he could take a picture to remember the captivating sight.
instead he just forced himself to walk away.
it’s a long, stressful day of refires, late tickets, and continuous yelling.
carmen only gets home shy of midnight, basking in the still silence of the apartment as the door latches. he slips his coat off and hangs his keys on the hook—the key hook she put up, after the 5th time he had asked her if she had seen his keys.
hers were gone, surprisingly. he wonders where she could’ve been at midnight with a nervous uncertainty.
carmen makes his way to the kitchen, grabbing a cold glass of water before walking over to the couch to collapse.
the living room was illuminated in a soft lamp light. he loved that there would be lights on when he came home. it felt less lonely, somehow.
his eyes glance around the room, noting the addition of potted plants, some throw pillows and blankets, art, framed pictures. some of her family, some of his.
it had thrown him off, a bit, to come home one day, before the awkwardness, to see a framed picture of him and mikey standing on one of the living room’s side tables. he hardly recognized the old picture, studying it with disbelief. on that day, he picked it up and walked to his roommate’s door, knocking softly.
“come in,” she had called.
he opened the door, and found her sitting at her vanity, combing her hair. he held up the picture, pointing to it.
“shit, i’m sorry. i should’ve asked,” she started to explain.
“-no, no, i was, uh, just a little surprised,” he reassured, “where did you get this from?”
she set her comb down on the vanity and turned to face him.
“it was in a box at the back of my closet,” she told him, “lots of pictures. i promise i didn’t go through it. that one was just at the top. and i thought it was sweet. i was just thinking since i have so many up of my family, you would-”
“-no, yeah. thank you. it was really nice of you,” he admitted, “just caught me off guard.”
she gave him a sympathetic smile.
he fondly recalls the memory as he studied the decorations. never before had his home felt so much like a home.
he lets his eyes shut slowly, basking in the comfort of the plush couch. around 20 minutes pass until he hears muffled voices from outside the unit, then the sound of keys fumbling with the lock.
his stomach drops a little at the thought of having to face her, so he keeps his eyes closed, hoping he could ignore the interaction all together. as the door swings open, he hears her voice.
“okay, thanks. i’ll see you around,” tiredness evident in her tone. then, a man’s voice.
“it’s a nice place. what’s the inside like?”
carmen feels a surge of annoyance. was she bringing men over?
“it’s, uh, nice too. i have to get up early tomorrow though, so-”
“we had a nice time, right? let’s keep it going.” the man’s tone becomes pushier. carmen’s annoyance turns to anger. who did this douchebag think he was? he hears his roommate release a sardonic chuckle.
“listen, dude, get out. i’m not interested.” her tone firm and assertive. carmen sits up slightly to peek over the couch.
“god, i can’t stand women like you,” the stranger retorts, “a $200 check, and you’re not even gonna invite me in?”
carmen watches as she tries to close the door. the man puts his arm out, aggressively pushing it back open. he sits up the rest of the way, having had enough of the interaction.
“hey fuckhead,” he barks. the stranger’s eyes dart to him, clearly surprised there was another person home.
“she said get out.” his jaw is tight, eyes wide, staring the man down. “we gonna have a fuckin’ problem?”
the stranger puts his hands up in defense, taking a step back.
“hey, no problem here, man. just trying to say goodni-”
she slams the door in his face, latching the deadbolt. the girl lets out a heavy sigh before glancing over to where carmen sits.
“thanks,” she mumbles, hanging up her keys and taking her jacket off. he glances over the skin-tight long sleeve dress she was wearing.
“who was that?” he asks immediately, trying to keep the hint of possessiveness out of his voice. she leans down to slide her heels off, glancing up at him.
“a date.”
he continues to stare at her, hoping she would elaborate. instead, she ignores him, walking to the kitchen and putting the tea kettle on to boil. he stands and follows her, brow twitching.
“you, uh, going on dates now?” he questions, hands coming to his hips.
“yep,” she curtly replies, grabbing a mug from the cabinet and placing a teabag inside.
“with guys like that, huh? nice.” he scoffs. the man has trouble rationalizing why he feels so aggravated.
“fuck off, carmen,” she sharply retorts, refusing to turn toward him, “it’s none of your business.”
“it is when you bring them here” he argues.
“what, like how you brought your little girlfriend over?” she yanks open the fridge and grabs the milk.
“she is not my girlfriend” he asserts.
the girl rolls her eyes and ignores him, turning the burner off at the sound of the kettle whistling, pouring the hot water into her mug. he moves closer to her, staring at the side of her face.
“she’s not,” he emphasizes. the added pressure makes her feel compelled to respond.
“well, she’s something to you,” she argues, setting the kettle back down harder than she intended, turning to face him. she immediately wishes she hadn’t, the intensity of his eyes setting her ablaze, skin prickling. it makes her a little weak in the knees to be face to face with him again, as much as she hated to admit it.
“no, she isn’t, i- fuck…i had this weak moment after…you and i kissed, and it-,” he exhales, pausing. “i didn’t realize how much i missed…that kind of thing. so i invited her over. and immediately fuckin’ regretted it when she said yes.”
“why?” she asks softly.
“why’d i regret it?” he clarifies. she nods.
he takes a small step closer to her.
“because i don’t want that kind of thing with claire,” he confesses.
she doesn’t know what to say, instead just watches him, studying his face. she catches the split second his eyes dart down to her lips, and feels what little resolve she has begin to crumble, so she turns away from him, back to her tea, and begins to stir in some milk.
“okay,” her reply comes softly, “i get it.”
“yeah?” he presses, eyes locked on her.
“yeah,” she responds, “i know how it feels. to get…lonely like that. so truce.”
he lets out a breath of relief, threading his fingers through his hair.
silence, for a moment. he watches her bring the hot drink up to her lips and take a small sip. carmy is the one to break the silence.
“is that, uh, the reason you’re going on dates, then?” he pries.
“what, because of loneliness?” she asks, warming her hands on the mug. he gives her a small nod, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.
“yeah. i guess so” she responds, “with these… weirdos that don’t let me know they’re weirdos until it’s too late.” her gaze fixes on a point in front of her, unfocused. she stays like this for a moment, then breaks her trance, eyes coming to carmy’s face. his sweet and handsome face.
“i’m really glad you were here, by the way.” she adds softly.
he doesn’t know what to say for a second, shaking his head. trying to push away the anxiety that came with what could’ve happened to her, had he not been on the couch at that exact moment.
“yeah. me too.” he replies soberly. she watches his serious expression, eyes locked. the girl can’t help but break out into a grin and softly giggle. she leans back against the counter.
“it was kinda sexy, too,” she quips, “watching you get all mad like that.”
carmy can’t help the smile that breaks his solemnity.
“fuck off,” he amuses, shaking his head. she begins to laugh. he likes it a lot.
“seriously,” she presses still smiling, “it was-…i liked it.” she gave a nod of her head.
he just keeps staring at her with a soft smile on his face.
“well i don’t wanna yell at anyone else. so no more guys over.”
“oh yeah?” her tone teasing, “it’s kind of your fault that i even went on a date in the first place” she chimes, taking another sip of tea.
“my fault?” he asks, eyebrows lifting.
“yeah. i mean, i wouldn’t have to if you weren’t such a…fucking tease.” she tells him, smiling against the lip of her mug
that was the last thing he expected her to say, letting out a small scoff at her bluntness.
“i’m the tease?” he asks in disbelief. if only she knew the relentless battles he fought internally from the second he first saw her. she’d been teasing him without knowing it for weeks.
“you wanted me to beg,” she reminds him, “and then, you left me. i had to fend for myself.”
he knew. he could hear her through the door.
“yeah, uh,” he fights the smile that creeps onto his face, “sorry about that.”
“that’s okay,” she replies, “cause i’m gonna give you payback.”
“payback?” he amuses, eyes creeping down her face, briefly falling to her chest and admiring the scoop neck dress she wore. okay, maybe not briefly.
she nods, stepping forward into his personal space, only inches apart. his eyes dart back up to meet hers.  she keeps her gaze locked with his and slides her fingers under his white shirt, ghosting over the deep cut lines of his hips.
carmen’s breath stills as she hooks the waistband of his pants, leaning in to softly kiss his neck. she peppers sweet kisses up to his ear, then gently catches his lobe in between her teeth. her hands trail up, splaying across his stomach and feeling the firm muscle. carmen clenches his teeth as her lips begin moving along the base of his jaw.
she had barely touched him and yet that burning sensation begins to creep up his skin.
once her lips make it to his chin, she straightens and pulls him into her.
he feels his breath skip.
the girl hovers her lips over his, giving him only a light impression of touch. the front of her body is flush against his, and she can feel his hardness pressing into her.
carmy knows exactly what she’s doing, and he doesn’t feel entirely enthusiastic about being teased.
he glides his hand under her jaw, fingers carding through her hair and resting near the base of her skull. he grabs it tightly and she lets out a soft whimper, lips parting. the sound is too sweet for him to maintain his composure—he wants to taste it.
carmen pulls her into his lips impatiently, relishing the supple feeling of her mouth. their lips lock together desperately, kisses in tandem. with a last, slow kiss she pulls away with a small grin on her face. his hand still entangles with her hair, eyed fixated on her lips.
“that all you gonna give me?” he grumbles lowly.
she nods, “mmhm,” and her lip catches between her teeth.
his free hand comes to grab her side, thumb pressing into her hip bone. she arches into his touch, lids heavy, body increasingly hot. he meets her eyes.
“you’re…” he exhales, smile creeping at the edges of his lips, “you’re a little brat. y’know that?”
“you like it,” she argues softly.
she’s wrong, he thinks, he loves it.
she smooths her hand up his abdomen, fingers pressing into the firm muscle. he tenses under the rousing touch, then groans as she gently drags her nails down the length of his stomach.
she feels his bulge twitch against her pelvis.
the girl smiles at this, satisfied with her work of payback. she doesn’t give him a chance to respond before she pulls away completely.
he blinks a few times, processing the loss of heat, watching as she turns to walk out of the kitchen.
he almost follows her, too, but stops in his tracks when she calls goodnight.
fucking tease.
-
it was after 1am by the time the girl had showered and completed her nighttime routine, peeling back her duvet and slipping into the silky sheets.
she tried desperately to clear her mind over the past hour, having difficulty thinking of anything besides her roommate. anything besides how much she had turned herself on in the process of “payback”.
she lays flat on her back, then turns to her side. then she turns to the other side. then flat on her stomach. the girl releases a sigh of frustration. nothing was comfortable. every inch of her body felt hot. carmy’s lips felt so fucking good.
the heater is too loud. the streetlights are shining through the curtains. she wants to take him inside of her.
her hand sneaks underneath the duvet, brushing over her hardened nipples, trailing down her stomach and creeping under the waistband of her panties.
she thinks about how much she liked kissing him as she begins to drag her finger through her folds. she thinks about how he would always hold himself back. it was easy to tell—he would tighten his jaw and his eyes would get dark, giving her this look at her as if he wanted to devour her whole. she feels herself getting wet, beginning to circle around her clit, frustration at the dull ache within that seemed incurable no matter how much she tried to pleasure herself.
the girl feels so desperate laying in her bed that she decides she would take whatever carmen would give her.
even if that meant having to beg for it.
she rips her hand out of her panties and flings the duvet off of her, sharply exhaling as the cool surrounding air kisses her skin. she throws her legs over the side of the bed and stands up. maybe a cold glass of water would help.
the temperature drops as she exits her room. clad in only underwear and a cropped tank top, goosebumps begin to rise on her skin
as she makes her way down the hallway, curious eyes land on carmen’s cracked door. she stops and takes a peek inside.
the outside streetlights flood in through his window too, yet there he lay sleeping heavily, completely unbothered.
she pushes the door open a little more, just out of curiosity.
he lay on his back, shirtless, with an arm thrown over his face, chest rising and falling steadily. watching him did nothing more than worsen the desire she felt.
she inches into the room almost uncontrollably, coming to stand next to his bed.
before she gains enough sense to turn away and leave, she peels back his sheets and slides in next to him. the man shifts a bit, then settles back into his slumber.
she feels kind of creepy just watching him, but he looks so incredibly handsome in his relaxed state, his plump lips parting with soft exhales.
she feels such little control over herself, thinking of how she wants to feel him. wants to taste his skin.
fuck it.
she slowly pulls the sheets down and off of him. he’s wearing a pair of boxer briefs and she can’t help but release a breath of anticipation at the sight. she leans forward and crawls over his sleeping form, straddling him, hands coming to his chest.
she watches as his head turns and his arm falls from his face, eyes blearily blinking open.
his eyes meet hers, a stunned expression on his face.
carmen thinks he’s dreaming at first—the sight above him all too similar to the filthy dreams he had been having lately.
“uh, hey” he hesitates, voice deep and raspy, heavy with sleep.
“hi,” she whispers.
his eyes scan over her form and take in her position. her lack of clothes. she can feel him growing beneath where she sits.
the girl smiles, giggling softly.
a lazy smirk grows on his face at this, and he closes his eyes again.
“fingers not doin’ it for you anymore?”
“shut up,” she retorts, slightly embarrassed. she hates how he knows. “i just wanted to…come see if you were sleeping well,”
carmy opens his eyes again and his smirk morphs to a grin, arms folding behind his head.
“i was” he confirms, lazily blinking, “but then i got, uh, woken up.”
“sorry” she sweetly exhales, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. “i, um…” her eyes rake down his handsome face, losing her lame excuse completely. she’s silent, zeroed in on his lips with an overwhelming urge to kiss him. she watches them morph to a smile.
“c’mere,” he whispers, tilting his chin up a bit. she follows his command, almost as if in a trance, leaning forward to capture his lips in a gentle kiss.
it feels blissful, almost like everything besides the two of them fades away.
soft kisses become deep and the gentleness seems to fade as soon as it starts. the pair mutually quicken the pace of the kisses. they become messier, more desperate.
the girl leans into him, hand coming to the side of his neck, the other caressing his collarbones.
carmy chases her increasingly desperate kisses, gripping her hips with both hands, cherishing the feeling of her skin.
the girl slips her tongue into his mouth and gently moans at the feeling, with which he reciprocates, indulging in the taste of her. his fingers press into her bruisingly.
she rocks her hips against him. the sensation shoots a spark through her spine, so she continues to rock back and forth, grinding against his bulge, moaning softly into his mouth.
carmen kisses her roughly, gripping her hips tighter, pulling and pushing her across the length of his cock.
her panties feel slick, core feels tight, beginning to speed up her gyrations. she can feel the head of his cock through his briefs, and quickly becomes lost in the pleasure, kissing him with a ferocity she hasn’t felt in a long time.
the sensation is incredible to carmen, becoming more pent up by the second.
she bucks her hips wildly. it feels so fucking good.
he mindlessly tightens his grip on her hips further, and her kisses quickly stop. hips stop. with a sharp inhale and a soft “ow,” her hand comes to his wrist.
he immediately releases his grip, eyes snapping open.
“shit, i’m sorry,” he hurriedly apologizes, smoothing his hands over the yet-to-appear bruises—a reminder of why he had tried to force himself to take it slowly with her. “y’okay?” he couldn’t help but feel guilty.
“mhmm,” she confirms, leaning down to give him a soft kiss of reassurance. “so strong,” she murmurs into his lips. he releases the breath he was holding, hands still on her hips.
“can hardly fuckin’ control myself with you.” he admits guiltily.
“then don’t,” she replies softly, sitting upright.
carmen’s hand falls over his face, sighing. his fingers card through his messy hair, eyes scanning over the girl. a soft smile twitches at the edge of his lips.
the young woman sucks in a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves from the moment. her fingers thread under the edge of her tank top, and without saying anything, she slowly peels it over her head.
carmen groans at the reveal, and she feels a twitch underneath her. his hand comes to grab the side of her waist, thumb stroking over her stomach. he stares at her breasts in awe, trying desperately to memorize the dreamlike sight above him.
“you’re beautiful,” he marvels, hand sliding up her stomach to her ribs, “y’know that?” fingertips grazing the underside of her breast.
goosebumps rise on her skin from the light touch.
“touch me,” she tells him impatiently, pushing her chest out further as to emphasize.
the man lets out a small scoff at her tone, but gives in, cupping her breast and giving it a soft squeeze. he runs his thumb over her raised nipple, giving it a gentle pull.
she exhales harshly. it feels as if her blood had become hot, biting down on her lip to refrain from making noise.
carmy brings his hand to her other breast and repeats: a soft caress, then squeeze, then a tug of her nipple, harder this time. she bucks her hips at this, whimper muffled by the tightness of her teeth around her lip. carmen lets out a soft groan at the momentary friction.
he can feel the heat from her core over his thinly clothed erection as he touches her. the man marvels at her flushed skin, the curve of her breasts, the shape of her stomach, the expression of pleasure on her face.
she finds herself aching for the friction of a moment ago, giving another testing buck of her hips. so good.
her hands plant on his chest and she continues to slowly grind back and forth against him. the perfect angle causes her bottom lip to release from her teeth, a moan spilling out into the silence.
carmen keeps his hands pinned to his sides as he watches her closely, clamping his teeth together, clutching his fists. anything to keep himself from spinning her around and fucking her senseless.
the girl continues to grind against him, one hand planted on his chest and the other coming up to grab her breast. she’s completely blissed out, but carmen feels hungry—her teasing movements not fully satiating. he can feel her wetness begin to seep through and slick the fabric of his boxers.
“jesus, you’re fuckin’ killing me,” he strains, feeling his patience wear thin, “do something.” sounding almost like a plead.
she smiles, head falling back in pleasure, continuing to chase her high. her eyelids flutter at the pleasure, rocking back and forth.
carmy groans her name, followed by a “c’mon.”
“ask nicely” comes her taunt, followed by a breathy laugh, continuing to pleasure herself.
carmen decides he’s done playing with her. he plants his arm on the bed and sits up quickly, pushing her back against the bed, watching her eyes snap open to protest the loss of pleasure.
“quiet,” he demands, cutting her off. she shuts her mouth, a look of disappointment on her face. he dips down to nuzzle her neck and hide his forming smile, peppering gentle kisses into her skin. her smell is almost intoxicating. carmen grips her waist as he kisses her neck slowly trailing down to her collarbones. he hooks his thumb into the side of her panties and shuffles them down her thighs.
the girl breathes heavily, skin tingling in the wake of his touch.
the man dips his hand into her panties, fingers slipping between her folds, feeling her wetness.
“fuck,” he growls into her neck, “all this for me?” beginning to slowly circle her clit, the noise of her slickness like music to the man.
she stays quiet, eyelids as heavy as her breathing.
“hm? c’mon” he pushes, coming up from her neck and looking her in the eye, “tell me, pretty girl.”
the name causes her chest to flutter, allowing a soft whimper to spill from her lips. the intensity of the sensation in tandem with his eye contact makes her feel dizzy. makes her less embarrassed about showing appreciation.
“s’all for you, carm” she softly moans.
his fingers continue softly circling around the bundle of nerves, every few moments dipping into her opening to collect more wetness.
she teases down his abdomen and slips into his briefs, wrapping around his erection.
carmen softly groans, then inserts a finger, beginning to drag it in and out along her walls. she softly gasps at the feeling, and he can feel her squeeze his cock.
“more,” she demands softly, starting to stroke him.
he obeys, inserting a second finger, feeling more resistance now. she gasps.
he plants a gentle kiss on her cheek, then shuffles down to kiss at her breasts. down where she couldn’t stroke him anymore. the loss of her touch feels cold, so he fucks her with his fingers a little faster to make up for it.
as he sucks her nipple into his mouth, she can feel her juices trickling down her thighs and onto the bed, a bit embarrassed about the mess she can feel herself making on his sheets.
wet squelching sounds start to reverberate through the quiet room as carmy speeds his fingers up, softly nipping at her perked bud. the girl claps a hand over her mouth, muffling a boisterous moan.
“hand off,” he growls, sending her a warning glance. she ignores him and closes her eyes, continuing to muffle her sounds of desperation, biting into her hand.
his jaw clenches, and he pauses his movements. with his free hand he grabs her one wrist, then the other, and pins them over her head.
the girl’s eyes snap open, and she attempts to fight against his single-handed hold. she gives her best effort, but in her weakened state her struggles do nothing against the man’s strength, so she just huffs.
carmen scoffs at this, towering over her, beginning to slowly resume the movement of his fingers inside of her. he watches her face closely as he continues—studying the way her eyelids flutter, how her lips part, how her breathing picks up again, how she tries so desperately to hold onto her moans by biting into the flesh of her lips.
he draws his fingers completely out of her, then slowly reinserts them, curling upwards and beginning to rhythmically thrust them into her. she releases the hold of her lip with a loud moan, unable to stifle it at the new positioning of his fingers. he smiles, having accomplished his goal. his fingers curl further into her.
the girl begins to feel a bit of panic, an intense and unfamiliar sensation building up within her stomach. not an orgasm, but a deep, hot, wet feeling. with her arms pinned above her head, all she can do is take it.
carmen speeds up the motion, thumb coming to brush against her clit.
“fuck!” she yelps, arching into his touch. her mouth falls open, unashamed moans starting to pour out. his pace is relentless, and it feels too good to try and refrain anymore.
“yeah?” he asks, tone cool and calm, getting a sick type of pleasure from watching her unravel beneath him. he curls his fingers up further, hand becoming soaked with her arousal.
“mmh-carm, that’s-” she’s cut off by another whine, gaze flickering down to where he was rhythmically pounding his fingers into her. “ah-you…mmmh sogood,” she babbles, completely lost in his touch.
carmy feels his composure crumbling, groaning at the way she was reacting.
“c’mon, baby, let go,” he growls, palm sloppily smacking against her clit as he drives his fingers into her. her eyes roll back a bit, and with a final few curls of his fingers she does exactly what he says and lets go, giving into the sensation. the hot, wet tightness within her core bursts, flooding throughout her whole body.
“fuuckk” she hears him groan, his voice seeming distant.
her muscles convulse with orgasm, eyes tightly shut and mouth open. everything feels so wet. his fingers slow in pace, remaining deeply lodged inside her, releasing the grip of her wrists from overhead.
it seems as if the only thing she can concentrate on is trying to remember how to breathe. as she struggles to blink her eyes open, she’s met with a handsome face that stares back at her with what seems like both shock and amazement.
“whathappened?” she jumbledly breathes out.
he just groans again, dipping down to kiss the girl, big hand grabbing her face. his fingers are wet and sticky on her face. she eagerly reciprocates his kiss, hands coming to feel his chest, a pulsing in her lower stomach.
carmy plants a kiss to her cheek then sits upright again. she pushes herself up onto her forearms, attempting to reorient. her gaze comes to where he kneels, then falls on the dark spot on the sheets that surrounds them, as if something had spilled. her brows furrow as she pulls her eyes back up to carmy. his face is flushed and pupils dilated, gripping onto the backs of her thighs.
“you, uh…. god that was fucking hot,” he says with an unwavering stare.
“did i do that?” she gasps, “fuck, i’m sorry, i’ve never-” hand coming over her mouth in embarrassment, “i’ll wash your sheets. or buy you new ones.” her face turns hot and red.
he swipes his fingers over her opening, collecting her wetness, then sucks them into his mouth.
her eyes widen, watching him savor the taste of her.
“carm, say something,” she begs, still partially mortified.
“you taste good,” he replies, pulling her closer by her thighs. there’s an animalistic glint in his eyes.
“not about that,” she looks away out of embarrassment.
“m’gonna make you do it again,” he strains, pulling down the band of his boxers and allowing his erection to spring free. he works to shuffle them down his thighs.
her short-lived embarrassment dissipates completely at the sight of his cock. he’s thick, and slightly curved, throbbing with arousal, emerging from a dark bush of curls. her breath hitches, and she almost moans at the sight, instinctively spreading her legs further apart for him.
carmen grabs a pillow and lifts her legs, tucking it under her tailbone and pulling her in closely. he begins to glide his head in between her folds, collecting her slick. he nudges against her clit, and she gasps, covering her mouth.
“y’okay?” he checks, locking eyes with her. she nods her head.
“mhm, just….be gentle,” she pleads, “please,” slightly intimidated by his girth.
“i will be,” he nods, giving her a sincere look, “promise.”
she nods back, a signal to go ahead.
carmy pushes against her opening, slipping his head in slowly. they release a breathy moan in tandem.
he pushes forward until he finds resistance at less than halfway in.
“fuck,” she pants, hand flying up to grab his wrist.
“doin’ so good,” he praises, “tell me when you want me to keep going.”
the girl nods, eyes shutting tightly, trying to adjust to the imposing stretch. she releases her grip on him, trailing her fingers down her body to rub circles into her clit. she feels herself relax a bit at the pleasure as carmy’s eyes stay glued to her, watching her every move with enthusiasm. her slow circles speed up ever so slightly, letting out a gentle moan, droopy eyes coming to meet those of the man above her. it feels so good, and she clenches around him. the only thing that would make it better would be-
“kiss me,” she pleads.
he studies her swollen lips, flushed face, sweet doe eyes—he can’t help but mindlessly obey, caging her with his forearms.
the intoxicating mix of carmen’s kisses and the work of her fingers help her relax. the grip on his wrist loosens, and carmen is able to fully sink in. he pushes forward until his hips are completely flush with hers, moaning into her mouth. she matches it with a gasp.
the girl can’t believe how full she feels. It’s almost hard to breathe, nails digging into carmy’s bicep. he pulls away from the kiss, thumb coming to stroke the side of her cheek.
“doin’ okay?” he asks softly.
she has to take a moment to find her words, overcome with a dizzy head high.
“fuck, it’s s-so big,” she stammers, both hands now gripping onto his biceps for dear life.
he can’t help the surge that runs through him at her words, small smirk tugging at the edge of his lip.
“yeah?”
“mmhmmm.”
“too much f’you? want me to take it out?” he teases, knowing full well what her answer would be.
“no!” her eyes snap open “so good, carmy. want you to fuck me.”
he groans.
“give it a sec. play with ‘yrself some more. fuckin’ gripping me down there.”
her chest flutters at the sound of his voice—the low growl of it that seemed to resonate through her bones.
“please,” she begs, pressing a kiss to his lips, “want it so bad,” another kiss, “i can take it.”
he tightens his jaw, feeling his cock twitch inside of her at the desperation in her tone.
“you tell me if it’s too much, okay?” he asserts, hand grabbing her waist to steady himself, sitting up. she eagerly nods her head.
carmy begins to slowly ease out, his length dragging along her tight walls, then pushes his hips forward gently, sinking into her fully. her mouth falls open, a whiny breath spills out.
he repeats this again, this time snapping his hips forward, burying himself to the hilt. her hands smooth up his biceps and wrap behind his neck, tangling in his hair. she pulls him down to her lips, and kisses him with frenzy, then peppers kisses along his cheek and jawline.
the man swears he’s miraculously died and gone straight to heaven, even though he hadn’t been to church in ages.
the way she smells, the feeling of her lips trailing along his face, the fucking vice grip her pussy wrapped around him with. it’s all like heaven.
he moves slowly, rolling his hips to softly thrust in and out of her.
the girl responds enthusiastically, bucking her hips up to accommodate him further. it feels incredible, but it’s not enough for either of them.
he wants to be gentle with the girl, try and counter the thoughts that pop in his head whenever he looks at her. he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to stop himself if he gives in.
so he forces himself to take it slow. and gentle and sweet.
but the girl keeps bucking her hips up to take more of him, frustrated that he won’t get the message.
“faster,” she whines, placing a few more kisses along his face.
he ignores her, leaning down to nuzzle her neck. his hand trails downwards, wedging it in between them to lightly rub her clit. his pace stays lazy and soft, kissing her neck.
“carmy,” she complains, fingers carding up through his hair, “give it to me.”
he just ignores her, slowing the pace of his fingers and biting her neck.
she gasps and yanks his hair.
“fuck me already,” she huffs, pout on her lips.
he growls into her neck, then pulls back, looking at her. his eyes had grown dark, eyebrows slightly twitching. a completely different expression than the soft one he wore previously.
this one was much hungrier.
he sits straight up, pulling her legs to be flush with his shoulders, then he practically bends her in half, hands pressing down on the backs of her thighs.
she flushes at the new position, feeling entirely vulnerable, but too overwhelmed with lust to do anything about it. she goes to say something, but he cuts her off by snapping his hips against hers, driving himself deeply inside of her. her mouth falls open into an o shape, taken aback by the sudden change in angle. she can feel every inch of him this way, so fucking full she can’t even seem to form a thought.
carmen eases out of her, then sinks inside again, hips slamming against hers. this time she lets out a throaty gasp, eyes droopy, completely transfixed by the sight of him above her. his chest was flushed, a light sheen of sweat glistening on his skin. she wanted to lick it off. his messy curls bounce in time with his movements.
he pulls back again, and snaps his hips forward, releasing a deep groan.
she feels too full to make any sounds besides the needy gasps that pour plentifully from her lips.
carmy smirks down at the girl, studying her blissed out expression with a sense of pride as he continually thrusts into her. his eyes fall to watch her breasts bounce in conjunction with his thrusts, and he can’t help but grab one, squeezing, brushing his thumb over her perked nipple. she arches into his touch.
he increases his pace, hips beginning to drive into her harder.
she can feel herself slipping into a cloudy haze, the consistent slap of his hips against hers almost meditative, a red hot pleasure circulating through her whole body.
“look at me,” he orders, tweaking her nipple between his thumb and forefinger.
she didn’t even realize she had shut her eyes, forcing them back open to meet his gaze.
he slides his fingers down her stomach, over her pubic hair, coming to rub her clit. slick noises fill the room as his movements are eagerly met with more and more wetness.
she studies his handsome face, watches how his eyebrows scrunch, how he bites down onto his lip and flares his nostrils ever so slightly. she wants to have his babies, she thinks in her haze. in that moment she would willingly take anything he gave her.
she opens her mouth to express her gratitude, but all that comes out is a loud moan.
“yeah? y’like that?” he asks, hiking her leg further up onto his shoulder.
“mm-hmmm,” she cries in between breaths, wincing at how deep he was going, but somehow wanting even more.
“tell me, pretty girl. use those words.” he plants a kiss to the inside of her ankle and keeps thrusting into her.
“fuck,” she cries, “so good, carm. sososo good.”
his circles around her clit speed up, and the pleasure pushes her to continue, embarrassment out the window.
“love it,” she gasps, “i love it. you fuck me so good,” beginning to babble, “please don’t stop. please don’t ever stop.”
a grin breaks his face at this, and he drives into her faster, a wet slapping resounding through the room. he kisses her ankle again, then her foot.
“whatever you want,” he tells her sincerely. “fuckin’ perfect, y’know that?” another kiss on her foot, “like you were fuckin’ made for me.”
she opens her mouth, but her rationality kicks in and thinks it might be too early to ask him to put a baby in her. she opts to take a less direct approach.
“cum in me,” a breathy plead, “please,” locking eyes with him. he gives a slight shake of his head, surprised by her words. surprised by how mindlessly he wants to obey.
“fuck,” he enunciates, “you know i can’t.” the justification of why barely makes it to his mind, overcome with the flood of arousal from her words.
“i want it,” she whines. her legs slip from his shoulders and wrap around his back, pulling him in close. he releases a groan, sinking further into her, slowing his movements and beginning to punctuate his thrusts. he leans down and kisses her neck.
“i said no,” he growls, “be fuckin’ good.”
she bites his shoulder. hard enough to sting.
“ah-f’you keep acting like a brat i’m gonna fuck you like one,” he warns, hands holding her firmly in place.
she grins, then bites him again, this time on his bicep. and much harder.
carmen feels himself run out of patience, sitting up and pulling out of her. he shuffles off the bed and stands, and before she can open her mouth to complain, he yanks her up by the arm. his hand presses on her upper back and shoves her into the mattress, grabbing her hips and lifting her to arch to his liking.
the girl feels slightly humiliated by the vulnerable position, yet finds it does nothing but make the tingling heat of her body intensify.
she notices her cheek is wet—he had shoved her face first into the spot she made earlier. at this, she lets out an unenthusiastic groan.
“yeah well, i told you to fuckin’ behave,” he responds, collecting some of her slick and coating it over his cock, stroking a few times. “was tryin’ to go easy on you.” he begins to press the head into her, eliciting a breathy sigh. “but you don’t want me to, huh?” he sinks the rest of the way in. “you’ve been wanting me to give it to you rough, yeah?”
he buries himself to the hilt, and she gasps, feeling fuller than she ever thought possible.
“no,” comes her breathy protest into the mattress. he wasn’t wrong. at all. but she had too much pride to admit it, so instead she argues.
carmy scoffs.
“yeah? that why you’re fuckin’ soaking me? cause you don’t want it?”
he pulls back, dragging along her walls, then thrusts forward. the girl yelps, and takes a deep breath.
“i’m not,” comes her sharp retort, forearms coming to the bed and pushing herself up.
carmen drags his fingers up her inner thigh, collecting some of her juices that had trickled down, wordlessly holding them in front of her so she could see.
her cheeks feel hot. she doesn’t say anything, instead turns her face away from his glistening fingers. he grabs her jaw and pulls her back, pushing his coated fingers into her mouth. the girl makes a noise of disagreement, but doesn’t move away. she swirls her tongue around him, sucking his fingers clean.
he was right, she does taste sweet.
carmy drags his fingers out of her mouth slowly, catching her lip on the way down, and wraps around her neck, pressing gently. only enough to remind her who was in charge.
she willingly submits to the pleasure, arching back against him, growing impatient with his lack of movement.
she begins to ease herself forward, then rock back onto him selfishly, working to help alleviate some of the pressure that had built within her.
he lets her, for a moment, admiring the way she bounces against him, watching as she desperately tried to satiate herself.
he leans forward to plant a kiss to her cheek, fingers still wrapped around her throat, and begins to drive his hips forward to match her movements.
“yes,” she cries, hoping to god he wouldn’t stop again.
he doesn’t, continuing to rhythmically thrust into her, filling her up and stretching her out. her hand flies down to her clit and begins softly rubbing, keeping in time with the movement of his hips. she can’t help the plentiful sounds that spill from her lips—sounds of motivation for the man.
carmen, on the other hand, clenches his teeth together tightly and anchors himself by gripping her hip with his free hand, leaning over her.
he’s wanted to cum since the second he slipped into her, actively working to refrain and make it last as long as possible.
her juices begin to flow uncontrollably, completely covering his cock, sticking to his pubic hair.
everything was wet, and hot, and felt so fucking good.
the man wants to stay in this very moment for eternity, he thinks.
a particularly deep thrust makes the girl cry out voraciously, a primal cry that seemed to ignite something in him.
his hand moves from her hip to her upper arm and he pulls her upright. she leans her head against his shoulder, and he wraps a strong arm around her torso, hand coming to hold her neck once again.
the girl can barely support herself, legs trembling as carmen beings to increase the ferocity of his thrusts. the new angle situates him impossibly deeper—that familiar deep, wet feeling of heat starting to re-emerge within her stomach. his free hand trails down to her clit to help her climb higher.
carmy’s thrusts begin to cause wet squelching sounds. she completely loses herself in the sensation, mind blank with bliss, feeling tears begin to leak from her eyes.
he grabs her jaw and plants a rough kiss on her cheek. his lips become wet with her tears.
“that feel good, baby?” he hums into her skin, bucking up into her relentlessly.
“so good, carm,” she cries, gripping onto his arm for dear life, “love it. so so good.”
“fuck” he growls, shifting his hips further up into her, eliciting a yelp from the girl.
“thank you,” she mindlessly moans, “thankyouthankyouthankyou.”
he grins, grabbing her jaw tighter. another rough kiss on her cheek.
“where’d that fuckin’ attitude go, huh?” plowing forward into her, biting her neck.
she just whimpers, body falling limp against him. he effortlessly holds her up right where he wants her and continues drilling his hips forward.
“carmy, i’m- ah,” her mouth agape, “‘sgonna happen again,” she warns. he maintains his relentless pace, skin slapping against hers.
“let it go, pretty girl. i got you,” he assures, face scrunching, muscles tightening, trying to keep his own orgasm at bay long enough to pull her through.
with a primal cry of pleasure, she does exactly what he says and lets go.
it’s a flood of heat through her body, a release so satiating she thinks she‘ll be addicted for life. her vision goes spotty, ears start ringing, mind becoming numbingly empty for a moment. her fingernails leave marks along carmen’s arm from how hard she grips, using him as her last remaining tether to reality.
her breathing becomes rapid, body overstimulated with his continual thrusts. it’s almost too much, and then it’s nothing at all, feeling him pull out with a loud groan. feeling warm ropes shoot across her lower back. feeling him gently lower her down onto the wet bed. feeling her legs start to shake as the orgasm begins to subside.
a few moments go by. she feels a cold wet rag clean off her back. she feels his hand rub over her ass, feeling it be squeezed. she doesn’t move. she can’t move.
“hey.”
his voice is so distant, sounding like he’s talking through a tin can. she feels him push her onto her side. she feels him smooth her hair out of her face.
she can’t seem to open her eyes.
she can’t even seem to breathe without panting.
her entire body feels tingly.
“hey,” comes again, this time a little closer, “y’okay?”
she can’t respond. It’s like she forgot how to vocalize.
carmen gently pats the side of her face. she doesn’t respond, so he does it a little harder. her eyes blink open at the soft smacks.
her eyes meet his. they’re so blue, hazed with a slight expression of worry.
“hi,” she whispers once she’s found her words. he’s so handsome, she thinks. his cheeks are flushed. his lips are swollen.
“hi,” he softly smiles, “y’okay? was that too much?”
she shakes her head no, a blissed out grin forming on her face.
“mm. i liked it. a lot,” she tells him earnestly.
“yeah? earlier you were saying you loved it,” he teases, smoothing her hair back behind her ear. she opens her mouth to respond but shuts it, rolling her eyes.
there was that attitude again, carmen thinks to himself.
“your bed is wet,” she complains, rolling onto her back and pushing herself up onto her forearms.
“who’s fault is that?” he asks, an eyebrow lifting.
she holds onto his bicep and pulls herself up, sitting on the edge of the bed. he sits next to her.
“yours,” she responds.
he scoffs.
“it is,” she huffs, head resting on his shoulder, “i’ve never done that before. it felt…crazy.”
the comment makes him feel big headed, a surge of pride and possessiveness that he’s the only one who’s ever made her feel that way. he doesn’t say it, though. just wraps his arm around the girl and kisses her head.
a quiet settles between them. the yellow of the streetlights through the window gives the room a dreamlike glow. the time on the clock shows that it’s an ungodly hour to be awake. carmen thinks of taking a personal day.
“wanna take a shower?” she asks softly, leaning up to kiss his neck, hand on his thigh.
“that-” he exhales as she nips his neck, “sounds really nice,” his own hand coming to cover hers. his were so big comparatively. another moment of quiet.
“i don’t think i can stand,” she admits, breaking the silence. he lets out a laugh.
-
the silky sheets wrap around entangled limbs, draping the two lovers in a soft sleepy haze.
the girl had to offer her own bed up for sleeping arrangements, given that carmen’s bed was completely soaked.
their legs intertwine, feet rub together, skin smooths against skin as they lay facing each other.
the cracked window allows an early november chill to sweep through the room. the girl gives a small shiver, and carmy pulls the blanket up over her bare shoulder, wrapping his arm around her back.
they remain in a comfortable silence, both nearly delirious in the early hour, but too giddy to fall asleep.
she studies his face in the close proximity, eyes smoothing over the small scar on his cheek, the light freckles that scatter his skin, the alluring curve of his nose.
it feels almost as intimate as their shared shower, where they had tenderly washed each other’s hair and studied each other’s nudity in the light. he had called her beautiful. she returned the compliment. he held her up in the shower on account of her shaky legs, kissing her lovingly under the stream of the hot water, fingers gripping onto her as if he was scared she’d vanish into thin air.
all that she was scared of happening had happened. she found herself completely infatuated with the man, the mere thought of him making her stomach flutter.
she tries to push it out of her mind, as she lay studying his face, that she only had a little over a month before she would leave chicago. as much as she tried to push it away, though, it came back.
she doesn’t realize she’s furrowing her brows until carmen reaches up to touch her forehead, smoothing his thumb over the scrunch.
she meets his eyes, and immediately feels a soothing sensation.
his hand slides down the side of her face and cups it, thumb rubbing over her lip.
“whatcha thinkin’ about?” he asks softly.
she stays quiet for a moment, not sure how to express herself, chewing on her lip trying to piece together her words. he gently pulls it from between her teeth, his eyes fixed on her face, studying every emotion.
she takes a deep breath.
“i really like you, carmy,” her admission comes as a whisper.
a tear escapes down her cheek, and she feels stupid because of it.
“hey,” he soothes, thumb swiping away the stray tear, “c’mere.”
he pulls her into an embrace, arms engulfing her smaller frame. he rubs her back, and presses a kiss to the top of her head.
“this about california?” the man asks after a moment.
she doesn’t answer, just nuzzles her face into his neck.
“we still have some time, yeah?” he consoles, “and it won’t be forever. you can come back and visit.”
he stays positive, partially to reassure himself as well.
“okay,” she murmurs into his neck, pressing herself closer to him.
she thinks it might’ve been a mistake to have started something she can’t finish.
it might’ve been a mistake to even entertain the idea at all.
but even still, he’s so warm, smells so nice, feels so incredibly safe.
he runs his fingers through her hair and kisses her temple, holding her tightly.
it feels so good she thinks it can’t be a mistake.
right?

For your Theo fluff - He hates touch, like absolutely does not get touched by anyone ever. His friends know it. Everyone knows - but then you come along and it’s all you do. Hugs, hand holding, legs in lap, all the touchy things. And you have no idea that Theo was ever NOT a touchy person because he never said anything. And then Pansy or Draco tell you how he used to hate being touched, and you’re like ???? Because he never said anything. And then you stop. Like no more hugs, no fiddling with his hands during class, nothing. And then he’s like ???? And then you tell him why and he’s like … I only wanna be touched by you. And it’s just so fluffy and a little hint of sunshine!reader.
You are the best Theo fluff writer😭🔥❤️
theodore nott x sunshine!reader
a/n: sorry i’ve been so busy i’m catching up on requests now!!
theodore very instinctively backed away from blaise's incoming hands. the boy was simply joking around with his friend, but as he lifted his hands to pat his back, super bro-dude of him, Theodore backed away.
"sorry mate." blaise noticed his flinch and laughed. theodore shook his head and gave a small smile to his friend.
"you act like everyone but you has the black plague or something, theo." pansy laughed at the interaction.
"what?" theodore asked.
"you back away from touch so quick." the girl replied.
"yeah, you never let anyone touch you." Draco added.
"i don't think i've ever seen you hug som-"
"theo!" blaise was interrupted by you walking towards the group of slytherins with an unmissable smile on your face. theodore's face visibly lit up as he stood up to greet you. you instantly walked up to him and reached out for a hug which he gladly reciprocated. blaise, draco, and pansy looked at eachother in shock. they knew theodore liked you but for him to display pda so naturally was strange. the two of you had only been dating for a week and before that you seemed to be close already, but the group still never saw this side of the relationship.
"hello to you too, y/n." blaise said, holding back a laugh with a smile. you turned to the group and smiled at them.
"hi guys." despite the two breaking your hug, your arm did not leave his body. "can i sit?" she asked.
"of course, i don't think theo will let you leave anyway." pansy replied making everyone not so discreetly laugh. theodore scowled at them and led you to sit down next to him. you smiled as he placed his arm around you and chatted about your day to him.
the scene was incredible to theodore's slytherin friends. you couldn't keep your hands off him as you sat together and he did not mind at all. you held on to his hands, placed a hand on his thigh, even touched his hair as you spoke to him. all he did was stare and listen to you as you talked, occasionally giving commentary and melting in your touch.
"i'll go get it for you." theodore said as he stood up, responding to something you mentioned you forgot in his room.
"where are you off to?" draco asked.
"getting something for y/n, i'll be back." he replied as he headed to his dorm.
"that boy must really like you." pansy turned to you as soon as he was out of sight. you smiles.
"well i hope so."
“it’s so funny, we were just talking about how much he hates being touched before you came over.” blaise said. you furrowed your eyebrows at his comment.
“he does?” you questioned. they all nodded. you never would have thought that about theodore. you were naturally very touchy with people you cared about and didn’t think theodore had a problem with it because he never said anything. as you thought about it, you did realize that he rarely was as physically affectionate with you in the same way so maybe he didn’t like it?
as the week went on, this thought never left your head. you suddenly became self aware of all your actions around theodore. your hugs were shorter instead of unnecessarily being prolonged, you held his hand instead of clinging onto his arm, and you rarely played with his hair.
theodore did not understand what was going on. he knew something was different as soon as he noticed you hesitating to hug him. he was never one to initiate physical affection so he wasn’t sure how to go about this. his break point was one afternoon in the empty school courtyard when the two of you sat in the grass talking and enjoying each other’s company. you were next to him but did not even attempt to touch him the entire time.
theodore looked down at the hand you were leaning on that was in between the two of you. you were ranting about your divination exam but all he could think of was how much he missed your touch. he looked back up at you and nodded to your words. he moved his hand without looking to touch yours, intending to hold on to it, but you immediately moved it away.
“why are you doing that?” he interrupted you. you stared at him in silence.
“doing what?” you asked.
“you’re not touching me. are you upset with me or something?” he asked. you looked at him in disbelief.
“no. i’m not i just,” you looked down not really knowing what to say.
“just what?” he asked again.
“i thought you didn’t like being touched.” you said. he tilted his head at your words. “it’s your friends, they told me you don’t like being touched by people soon figured i would hold back on it because i don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”
“ragazza dolce (sweet girl),” he placed a hand on your cheek making you look at him. “i only like being touched by you. i miss it so much.” he says.
“really?” you asked. he nodded. you smiled and kissed him, placing your hand on his arm.
“now please give me a hug. yours are the best.” he smiled at you.
“if you insist.” you gave him a hug as he requested, smiling and closing your eyes as you lingered in the feeling.

“It's painfully obvious that they're into each other!" Danielle whisper-shouts to Jungwon beside her, sneaking a glance in your direction. Jungwon nods in agreement, both of them observing as Niki playfully doodles on your cast while you giggle.
This was far from a usual scene for Danielle and Jungwon, and they couldn't have predicted such a turn of events.
Unbeknownst to both you and Niki, your conversations continued to flow as if you were the only two people in each other's world. "You know, Ki, I have to get this cast off next week," you sigh, observing him pause one of his doodles on your cast. A faint frown appeared on his face, his eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"I was kind of getting used to you being a one-armed wonder," he remarked, earning himself a playful smack on the shoulder that left him rubbing it. "Geez, did all your arm strength go into that smack?"
"Seems like it. But seriously, my doctor says it should be healed by next week."
"I'm going to miss using your cast as my personal canvas."
"You've practically turned my cast into your own art gallery – every doodle is from you, no one else."
"That's why I do it, kind of like practicing, you know? It's become part of my daily routine," he admitted, his words partially true. Yet, there was undoubtedly more to his attachment. It was almost as if these interactions were the only way for both of you to be close. Secretly, he cherished the sight of his drawings everywhere you went.
Sometimes, he couldn't help but wonder if you thought about him when you looked at your cast. But surely, he couldn't be developing feelings for you, right? It’s just a different feeling this time–a feeling he experienced when he was finally on good terms with someone who had once been his enemy.
"I'll miss it too," you respond, your gaze fixed on the cast, appreciating all the doodles adorning it. Your feelings for him have evidently grown deep, and there's no denying that fact anymore. "But, having both arms back will definitely be good. I still need to get back at you for that one time we coincidentally ended up in the nurse's office together."
"Hey!" His chuckle is contagious, causing you to laugh as well. Unbeknownst to both of you, Danielle and Jungwon are eavesdropping, recognizing that something is brewing between you two.
"Yep, they're definitely into each other," Jungwon declares, though he sighs afterward. "But they seem like the type to stubbornly deny it afterward."
“So, how do we make them realize their feelings?”
“We both need to individually talk to them about their feelings.”
“I like the way you think, Jungwon.”
The two had never stared at a clock so intently before. Lunchtime was drawing near, yet time seemed to be crawling by. "Just a little longer," both Danielle and Jungwon thought, their anticipation growing as the hour hand inched closer to 12. When the bell finally rang, they exchanged a quick smile before rejoining their respective friends.
"Now, if you don't mind, Niki, I'll be stealing my best friend away," Danielle announced to Niki, who looked a bit puzzled but eventually nodded. Equally bewildered, you allowed Danielle to take you away, offering a small wave to Niki as you went.
Seizing the moment, Jungwon remarked with a grin, "Looks like you and YN are getting pretty close!" Niki's nod was met with an unusually wide smile from his best friend, a grin that seemed just a tad wider than usual.
"What's with that grin on your face?"
"What do you mean, Niki?"
"Your smile looks a bit strange."
"Oh, it's nothing. I just find it cute how quickly you and YN are hitting it off. Maybe a bit quicker than expected."
"Is that a problem?"
"No, it wouldn't be a problem if you'd just admit your feelings," Jungwon states matter-of-factly.
Niki comes to an abrupt stop, staring at Jungwon as if trying to process whether he actually heard what was just said. "What?"
"Your feelings for YN," Jungwon repeats.
"Come on, Jungwon, this is ridiculous. I don't have any feelings."
"Are you really sure about that?"
"Yes, I'm absolutely sure. I don't understand why you're even suggesting it."
"Fine, fine. Let's just focus on getting some food. Man, I'm starving," Jungwon sighs, sensing that pressing further won't lead anywhere good. Niki nods, his emotions a jumble, but mainly feeling confused. Why was Jungwon bringing this up all of a sudden? But, he quickly shook off these thoughts, thinking it was just another one of those weird questions he’d ask.
Despite Niki's adamant denial, you found yourself quite honest when Danielle swiftly pulled you out of the classroom. Sensing that something was wrong, you confided in her – the one who had always stood by your side. I mean, what good would it do you if you were to hide it from her?
"Yeah, Dani, I think I might actually like him. And it's kind of freaking me out." You leaned your head on her shoulder once you found a table, seeking some comfort. Danielle offered a reassuring pat on your thigh.
"Why would it be freaking you out? There's nothing wrong with it. You're just feeling uneasy because you two used to hate each other," Danielle pointed out.
"True, but it's just... I don't know, it feels strange."
"Just take your time, okay? You can figure out your feelings for him at your own pace. And who knows, maybe he's feeling the same way."
"I doubt that."
"Hey, don't be so quick to dismiss the idea if you're not sure," Danielle reassured you, her words like a comforting embrace. You hummed in response, genuinely grateful for her unwavering support. Exhaustion seemed to be creeping in, and you found yourself drifting into a light doze, the weight of the situation taking its toll. She allowed you to rest your head on her shoulder, her gaze catching Jungwon and Niki entering the room in perfect timing.
Locking eyes with Jungwon, Danielle shared a smile, a silent acknowledgment that things seemed to be progressing positively between you and your feelings. However, her smile faded slightly as she observed Jungwon's expression, suspecting that Niki might have brushed off any discussions about his feelings. While it might take some time, both Danielle and Jungwon were determined to help bring you and Niki closer.
But five days had since passed, and in the classroom, Jungwon and Danielle were discreetly passing notes, sharing their frustrations and plans regarding your future connection with Niki.
"What should we do, Danielle? Our plans haven't been successful," Jungwon scribbles on a piece of paper, passing it to Danielle beside him. He observes her thoughtful expression as she contemplates a response, then watches as she swiftly writes something down and passes the note back to him. Unfolding the paper, he lets out a small sigh as he reads her words.
"I'm not sure..." Jungwon begins to write a reply, but the teacher's voice cuts through their note exchange, startling them slightly. Were they caught? Were they going to be asked to walk to the front? Anxious glances are exchanged, and the two of them look around, only to spot a new student entering the room.
"Everyone, I'd like you to meet our new student, Park Gunwook," the teacher announces. As the shy smile of the newcomer meets the class's greeting, a lightbulb seems to go off in both Danielle and Jungwon's minds. They exchange a knowing glance.
"Let's make Niki jealous."
Tumblr media
The universe seemed to be on their side, as the teacher asked Danielle to remind you that you had to tour Gunwook around the school. Not surprised, Danielle sees you with Niki again, distracted in your own conversation with him.
“YN!” Her voice catches your attention, which makes you look her way. Giving her an eyebrow raise, you see her pointing at Gunwook, who had a shy smile on his face. You soon exclaimed, soon realizing what you had to do.
“Oh right! Sorry Niki–I have to help give a tour to the new student.”
“Who?” Niki looked at Danielle’s direction, seeing her and Gunwook together. “Gunwook?”
“Yeah–you weren’t paying attention to what the teacher said to me, did you?”
“Not really,” He pretended to shrug it off. “Why can’t Danielle do it?”
“Well, too late. I already took up the offer. So, see you later?”
“Yeah. See you,” He said as you walked off, watching Gunwook’s smile become wider when you walked by his side. Yeah, Niki did not like that new guy. Not even one bit. Scoffing, Niki reaches for his phone, hoping to distract himself.
“Someone looks mad,” Danielle soon took a seat by his side, soon realizing the change in his behavior.
“Mad about what?”
“Mad about YN leaving with this new guy.”
“It’s just a tour after all.”
“Just a tour,” Danielle couldn’t help but chuckle, but soon stopped by Niki’s sudden glare. “Could be a tour where they get to become friends.”
“What does that have to do with me?” Niki brushes it off, although he wasn’t quite pleased with what Danielle said. “She can do whatever she wants.”
“Sure, Niki. Whatever she wants.”
Tumblr media
Walking back from the vending machine with his strawberry milk in hand, Niki's steps faltered as he caught sight of you engaged in a seemingly cheerful conversation with Gunwook. His gaze lingered on the scene for a moment, a mix of emotions swirling within him. A tinge of jealousy gnawed at his chest, but he quickly pushed it aside, reminding himself that he had no right to feel that way.
He took a deep breath and continued walking, forcing himself to focus on his drink and avoid any unnecessary overthinking. Who was he to overthink the situation anyways?
"What's the big deal about him?" Niki's gaze hardened as he observed the two of you, his grip on his strawberry milk tightening. “Surely he can’t be that fun to talk to.” Jungwon couldn't help but let out a chuckle, but his amusement quickly faded when Niki's glare landed on him.
"Feeling a bit jealous, are we?" Jungwon teased.
"Jealous? Don't be ridiculous."
"Then why does it bother you so much? Come on, don't tell me you're clueless about this," Jungwon shot back, taking a casual sip from his drink. "They do seem to have some chemistry, if you ask me."
Niki's frustration was evident as his jaw clenched. He was grappling with emotions he couldn't quite define. The idea of you being with someone else didn't sit well with him, but he wasn't about to admit that openly.
"Whose side are you on, anyway?"
Jungwon flashed a knowing smile. "I'm on the side of the truth. And it's pretty obvious you're feeling something for her."
“Feelings?”
Jungwon raised an eyebrow at Niki's sudden change in tone. “Yeah, yours, you idiot. Why did you become so attached to YN? Weren’t you two rivals before? What changed?” Jungwon asked, soon shushing Niki with his finger. “Don’t answer that—you have feelings for her. That’s why. Isn’t it obvious?”
Niki huffed, clearly uncomfortable with the direction the conversation was taking. He took a deep sip of his strawberry milk, as if trying to drown out his own thoughts. "You're reading too much into it.”
“That’s all you have to say?” Jungwon's fingers latched onto Niki's ear, causing him to wince in discomfort. Amid his struggle to free himself from Jungwon's grip, Niki abandoned the grip he had on his strawberry milk.
"Jungwon, cut it out! Seriously, I'm not sure if I even... ow! Ow! Fine, fine! I do... ow! Will you let go already?" Niki's voice swung between irritation and a hint of resignation as he massaged his ear once Jungwon finally released it, his scowl directed at his persistent friend.
Jungwon smirked, a triumphant glint in his eyes. "See? Admitting it isn't that bad, is it?"
Niki huffed, his cheeks slightly flushed from a mix of frustration and embarrassment. "Don't get too smug about it. And you better not tell anyone else, got it?"
"You have my word, my secretive friend." Jungwon's grin only grew wider, relishing in the small victory of nudging Niki to confront his feelings, even if it had involved a bit of ear-tugging persuasion.
Now, Jungwon just needed to find a way to convince him to confess his feelings. Texting Danielle immediately, it was time to put part two to the plan in action.
Tumblr media
“Why is he here?” Niki whispered softly into Jungwon’s ear, raising his eyebrow at you and Gunwook sitting down together, laughing at each other.
“Cause he is our friend now!” Jungwon said with a big smile, pleased with the frown placed on Niki’s face. Danielle seemed to notice the two before you did, giving a way. Jungwon waved enthusiastically, while Niki gave a small one. Did you not notice him walking into the mall too?
“Hey!” Danielle called out, which finally drew your attention to Jungwon and Niki approaching. You acknowledged them, waving and giving Niki a smile, which brought a hint of color to his cheeks. He guessed that if you were here, then it was okay for Gunwook to join too.
Soon, you and the rest of the group decided to explore random stores in the mall, browsing through clothes, snacks, and everything in between. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, chatting and laughing as they moved from one store to another. At least, that’s what you thought, while Niki felt differently.
Niki could sense that you and Gunwook were growing closer, which bothered him more than he'd like to admit. He couldn't understand why Danielle seemed so unconcerned about the two of you spending more time together, and it baffled him even more that Jungwon wasn't worried. After all, Jungwon had been the one who forced Niki to confess his feelings for you to him, yet he wasn't doing anything or even encouraging him to take action.
However, Niki tried to ignore his thoughts, but he couldn’t shake the twinge of jealousy that tugged at him every time you and Gunwook shared a laugh or whispered to each other. He trailed slightly behind, trying to focus on Jungwon and Danielle's conversation, but his attention kept drifting back to you.
Eventually, you all found a table at the food court, settling down before deciding on what to eat. “Should we just get popcorn chicken? I’m not that hungry,” Danielle suggested, and everyone agreed.
“That sounds good. I can go buy them—just watch over my stuff,” you offered, standing up to make the purchase. Niki noticed Gunwook about to rise from his seat to join you, something he definitely didn't want to happen. Acting on impulse, Niki quickly stood up. “I’ll go with you, Y/N.”
“Huh? Oh—sure!” you replied, a bit surprised. Gunwook also seemed taken aback by Niki’s sudden eagerness, and he slowly sat back down.
As you and Niki walked together toward the food stall, he tried to relax and focus on enjoying your company. “You two seem to have gotten close, huh?” Niki ventured, hoping to find answers to his own thoughts.
“Oh, with Gunwook?” you replied thoughtfully. “He’s been texting me more lately, so I’m more comfortable with him now, even though I don’t hang out with him much during school hours and such.”
“So, you want to hang out with him more during school hours too?” Niki asked, sounding slightly defeated as he jumped to conclusions.
You looked at him, confused, which snapped him out of his thoughts. “I wouldn’t mind it, but I’d prefer spending time with you, Danielle, and Jungwon. After all, we are closer, don’t you think?”
Niki nodded in response, feeling both relieved and uneasy. He would have been more content if you hadn’t mentioned the first part, but he’d take what he could get for now.
It wasn’t long before the two of you returned to the rest of the group, finished up your food, and decided to head to the arcade. Even with your reassuring words, the comfort they gave Niki was fleeting. As soon as you arrived at the arcade, Gunwook seemed to cling to you more than ever, almost as if he was doing it on purpose.
Niki hated being apart from you and found it hard to shake the feeling of jealousy that gnawed at him. It had been a long time since Niki had disliked someone this much.
Much to his dislike, Danielle and Jungwon seemed to catch onto Niki and Gunwook’s behavior. They whispered among themselves and managed to distract Gunwook, leaving you and Niki alone for a moment.
You and Niki were at the claw machines, and you cheered him on as he focused on getting a duck plush. “Come on, Niki, I know you’re good at these!”
“Yeah, I should be better than Gunwook,” he blurted out before panicking internally and trying to concentrate on the prize in front of him.
If he didn’t say anything about it, you’d— “Huh? What about Gunwook?”
Niki laughed it off nervously, saying, “You seem to be having a great time with Gunwook today, so I figured he’d be trying his hand at the claw machines too and showing off his skills, you know.”
“Are you trying to say you’ll be better than Gunwook at this?”
“I am better at this than him—just watch, I’ll impress you,” Niki said, pressing his lips together in concentration. He let out a muffled sound of despair as the plush dropped again.
You watched Niki with growing amusement, starting to connect the pieces. His comments about Gunwook, his sudden eagerness to join you at the food stall, and the way he seemed on edge whenever Gunwook was around—everything pointed to one conclusion. Instead of feeling confused, you felt flustered, realizing that Niki might be jealous of Gunwook.
“Niki,” you said softly, trying to hide your smile, “you don’t have to impress me. I already think you’re amazing.”
Niki paused, glancing at you with a hint of surprise in his eyes. “Really?” he asked, his voice laced with uncertainty.
“Yeah,” you nodded, feeling your cheeks getting warm. “So instead of trying to impress me with a claw machine, why don’t you tell me how you really feel?”
Niki hesitated, looking down at his shoes for a moment before meeting your eyes again. There was a vulnerability in his expression that you hadn’t seen before, a mix of uncertainty and hope.
“I…” He took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. “I guess I’ve been a little jealous today. I didn’t like seeing Gunwook so close to you, and it made me realize how much I care about you.”
You smiled softly, appreciating his honesty. “I kind of thought so,” you admitted. “And for what it’s worth, I really like spending time with you, too.”
A small smile crept onto Niki’s face, relief washing over him. “I’m glad to hear that,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
You both stood there for a moment, the noise of the arcade fading into the background.
With the silence hanging between you, Niki cleared his throat, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. He turned his attention back to the claw machine, his determination renewed as he focused on winning the duck plush.
“I’m going to get this for you,” he declared, a hint of playful defiance in his voice. “Not because I’m trying to impress you, but because I want to.”
You chuckled softly, watching him maneuver the claw with renewed focus. “No pressure, but I have faith in you,” you teased, leaning closer to the machine.
He finally managed to win the duck plush, pulling it from the machine with a triumphant grin. “Well, then,” he said, offering it to you with a shy smile, “this is for you.”
"Thank you, Niki," you smiled, hugging the plush to your chest. Continuing to tease him, you added, "So, I'm taking this as your way of saying 'I like you' indirectly, hm?"
Niki's eyes widened slightly, and he rubbed the back of his neck, his cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red. “Don’t get ahead of yourself…”
“Oh? So, you’re fine with me going back to Gunwook?” you teased, raising an eyebrow playfully.
“Hey, don’t say that,” Niki glared. “Fine, I like you a lot. More than I could’ve imagined.” he admitted with a shy smile. “So, there’s no way I’m letting Gunwook win you over.”
You smiled, “I was just kidding, anyway. I only ever had eyes on you.”
“Really?” he said, sounding both confused and relieved that you felt the same way all along.
“Why do you think I asked you to get me that duck plush, huh?”
“Why?”
“Because it reminds me of you. That’s why I wanted you to get it, so it could mean even more.”
“Really? I look like that duck?” He pointed at the plush in your hand, showing a mock disgusted expression, which made you laugh.
“Of course!” you replied with a playful grin.
“I think we could’ve gotten a better…representation. Maybe something cooler?” Niki pestered.
“Whatever you say, you’ll still forever look like a duck to me,” you shrugged. “The duck is cute, and you’re cute too.
Niki chuckled, shaking his head. “You have a weird way of saying you like me too.”
“Well, if that didn’t come off too clear—I like you more, Niki.”
“Now, if you really liked me, you would totally associate me with a cooler animal, wouldn’t you?” Niki jokes.
“Hmm, I’ll keep that in mind for next time,” you chuckled. “But for now, you definitely suit this adorable duck. Now, come on, let’s go meet up with the rest.” With a playful grin, you grabbed his hand and tugged him along, holding onto the duck plush that now symbolized him in your eyes.
Niki playfully rolled his eyes, but soon a sheepish grin spread across his face. He was willing to go along with whatever you said or wanted; being with you felt perfect, and he hoped moments like these would last forever.

jj maybank x kook!reader
request: Heyyyy I really love your works, I kindly request if you can please write a tumblr story of how JJ maybank likes both kook reader (Sarah’s cousin she introduced to the group and treasure hunt) and Kiara at the same time and he has to choose between the two and ends up choosing reader and Kiara moves on soon too
wc: 4.7k
a/n: I kinda changed the plot a little bit where Kiara and Sarah already worked out their differences. sorry this took forever!!
Tumblr media
JJ watched her. He was captivated by her beauty. He watched as her long dark curls bounced as she walked. He admired her tan skin. He watched as she waited tables and rung up customers.
JJ was at the wreck while Kiara worked. He didn’t mind as he was mesmerized. Kiara didn’t seem to mind her visitor.
“Hey what are you doing here?” Kiara questioned.
“Just came to visit you,” JJ smiled.
“I’m working JJ.”
“I know I won’t bother you, promise.”
Kiara didn’t believe him when he said this however she still smiled and nodded back at him.
JJ stayed at the wreck for another hour before he decided to go home. When he got home he couldn’t stop thinking about Kiara. He thought about her smile and her laugh and her personality.
He loved hanging out with her even if it was to watch her work. JJ was confused as to how he can like someone so much.
——————
You never been to this so called Midsummers. Sarah has been raving about it to you for so long you grew tired of hearing about it. You and Sarah were currently getting ready for the party.
“Do you want me to do your eyeliner?” Sarah asked.
“Yes please,” you responded.
Sarah sat down in the seat in front of you and got busy.
“So are you excited for Midsummers?” you asked Sarah.
“Yeah I guess so, I’m just a little bummed because I don’t think John B will be there.”
“And John B is the guy your leaving Topper for?”
“Correct. Now hold still and close your eye.” Sarah demanded.
After a little while the both of you were ready for Midsummers. You were wearing a baby blue silk dress that matched Sarah’s white dress perfectly.
You arrived at the country club right on time and you were a bundle of nerves. You never been to Midsummers before and you were nervous because you didn’t know what it would be like.
Of course Sarah told you everything about it but still it didn’t ease your nerves. When you stepped out of the car you were met with a ton of people all dressed very nicely.
After Ward made his entrance and after a while of socializing you and Sarah made it to the dance floor.
Sarah was hiding behind her friend and sneaking some champagne.
You were on the dance floor living it up. When a mysterious blonde boy came up behind Sarah.
“JJ?” she questioned.
“yep” He spoke
“What?”
“I got a, uh, note from Vlad.” “Shh.”
“From Vlad?” Sarah confirmed.
“Yeah” JJ replied.
“Okay.”
“Read the note.” JJ said walking backwards.
Sarah read the note and ran off. You were confused by the whole interaction by brushed it off. You continued dancing.
After a while Sarah came back to find you.
“Hey listen we gotta go to Rixon’s Cove,” Sarah exclaimed.
“What why?” you asked.
“You’ll see,” she smirked.
Sarah grabbed your hand and led you away from the party and towards Rixon’s Cove. When you arrived you were met with a group of people.
They all turned towards you and you gave them all a smile.
“Hi guys, This is my cousin y/n,” Sarah announced.
“Hi, nice to meet you all,” you spoke.
“You can trust her,” Sarah put forth.
“Hi y/n, I’m John B.”
“I’ve herd a lot about you,” you giggled as Sarah’s cheeks warmed.
“Hi I’m Kiara,” she got up and shook your hand. You smiled at her.
“I’m Pope,” Pope said.
You turned your gaze to the only person who hasn’t introduced themselves.
JJ was frozen in place. He couldn’t believe his eyes. There you were in your shiny silky blue dress looking like a goddess. JJ didn’t believe in love at first sight until now.
“JJ,” Pope coughed.
“What oh right sorry, I’m JJ, JJ Maybank, pleasure to meet you.”
You thought JJ was cute and you wondered if he had a girlfriend, probably you thought.
“Now that we are all acquainted. I have some news,” John B announced.
“You ready for this?”
“Yeah,” Kiara responded.
“So, the gold never went down with the Royal Merchant,” John B continued.
“Oh, my god. Here we go again with this.” Pope voiced.
“No. All right, wait. Hear him out, all right?” JJ spoke.
“It’s been here the whole time. It’s on the island.” John B added.
“Are you serious?” Kiara questioned.
“Oh my god.” Kiara exclaimed.
“I’d like to voice my skepticism.” Pope said.
“I’m sure you would, Pope, but can I please present you with my evidence, sir?” John B asked.
“Proceed.” Pope responded.
“All right. So, in my backpack, I have a letter from Denmark Tanny.” John B went on.
“Who the hell’s that?” Kiara asked.
“Denmark Tanny was a slave that survived the Royal Merchant wreck. Check this out,” John B explained.
“What?” Kiara voiced.
John B handed her the letter. “Here you go.”
“Okay, slaves weren’t mentioned as crew members on the ship, but my dad, he found the complete manifest. That was his big discovery. So Tanny used the gold from the Merchant to buy his freedom.” John B discussed.
Kiara whistled and gave Pope the letter.
“After that, he bought his farm.” John B continued.
“Drumroll, please, because that farm is… Tannyhill Plantation.”
“Tannyhill?” Kiara questioned.
“Yeah. So, after that, he used his money to free even more slaves, and then he sold a shit-ton of rice, which pisses off all the white planters, and then they decide to lynch him.”
“So on the day they were coming to get him, he writes a letter to his son as a farewell, and in the last line of that letter, he leaves a coded message about where to find the gold.”
“Where?” Kiara whispered.
“Harvest the wheat in parcel nine, near the water. Except… there’s no wheat. You see, wheat is code for gold. Check this out. The gold is in parcel nine, near the water.” John B shared.
“Holy shit,” Pope exclaimed.
“All we need is an original survey map of the property, and we’ve found the gold.” John B cheered.
“Which I can get,” Sarah added.
“Okay, so this might have a small chance of being actually true.” Pope acknowledged.
“Dude it’s like King Tut,” Kiara suggested.
“I am a genius,” John B announced.
JJ got up and walked over to John B and embraced him.
“Hey, whoa! Hello! Fire! You’re near the fire. You’re gonna burn.” John B stated.
“I’m so proud of you right now.” JJ commented.
“Thank you. That’s really sweet of you,” John B expressed.
“Okay, so, guys. What’s the plan?” Pope asked.
“Good question,” John B stated.
“Well I can bring the map soon it should only take a second,” Sarah spoke.
“How much in gold are we talking?” you asked.
“400 million.” The pogues said together.
“Woah,” you stated shocked.
“Alright we can meet up later and get the map and go from there,” John B suggested.
After the meeting at Rixon’s Cove you all went home and thought about what was said. When you finally got home you couldn’t stop thinking about JJ. It’s like you were drawn to him.
There has been a few meetings about the gold and you were grateful to be apart of it and apart of the group. You felt like you finally found a group of friends.
Today you were going surfing to celebrate finding the gold. There was also gonna be a party at the boneyard but that was tomorrow.
Once you got to the beach you felt like you should mention you don’t know how to surf.
You voiced your concern about not knowing how to surf and JJ jumped up.
“I could teach you,” JJ exclaimed.
“Really? You’d do that for me?”
“Yeah of course.”
While the other pogues went to hit the water you and JJ stayed on the sand. JJ wanted to get to know you and he thought the perfect opportunity to do that was teaching you how to surf.
“Alright before we hit the water we must practice on the sand. First i’m gonna teach you about paddling.” JJ went on.
JJ proceeded to show you how to paddle. Then JJ showed you how to stand on the board and maintain your balance.
“We will get you in the water another day,” JJ started.
“Ok sounds good.”
You and JJ sat in the sand watching the others surf. JJ was so proud of you for learning so fast. Now was his chance to learn about you.
“So what do you like to do if you don’t surf?” JJ asked.
“Well I like to read and ride my bike.”
“Really? Ya know i have a dirt bike. I could take you on it sometime.” JJ hoped his invitation wasn’t too forward.
“Yeah that sound fun,” you exclaimed.
“Do you believe in soulmates?” JJ asked next.
You paused for an moment to think then you smiled and JJ just about died at the sight.
“I mean yeah, I think everyone has a person made for them and someone who completely understands you and loves you unconditionally is important to have.”
“I agree I believe there’s an intense connection where both people feel deeply drawn together as if the affair was somehow destined to be.”
JJ’s eyes were sparkling and you felt mesmerized.
“What’s your love language?” You asked.
“Hmm probably physical touch, which is funny,” JJ replied.
“Yeah mine too. Why is it funny?”
“I just didn’t expect it to be physical touch.”
“What's the best gift you've ever received, and why?” JJ asked.
“Umm probably concert tickets because it was Lana Del Rey and I love her a lot.”
“Really that’s so cool. Personally I love concerts.” JJ exclaimed.
“Yeah there the best,” you stated.
“What kind of music do you like?” JJ questioned.
“Um I listen to pop, indie pop, modern rock, indie folk and Hollywood.” you explained.
“That’s some good stuff right there,” JJ commented.
“Will I see you at the boneyard party tomorrow?” JJ asked.
“Yes you will,” you smiled.
After everyone was done surfing you all went to John Bs house. Everyone decided to just relax and watch movies.
—————
The boneyard parties are always fun. You had no idea because you’ve never been to one. Being a kook you never really branched out. Now you had a group of your friends that would be there.
You arrived with Sarah in a white sundress with yellow flowers on it. You were excited and nervous at the same time. The beach was buzzing with people. You were entranced by the energy of the people.
JJ was situated on a branch talking to Kiara.
“I haven’t seen you talk to any tourons lately,” Kiara stated.
“Yeah I’m growing tired of them. Their all the same,” JJ replied.
“JJ Maybank is passing up on sleeping with tourons, unheard of!” Kiara gasped in surprise.
Little did Kiara know that he liked her and didn’t see a point in filling his life with meaningless sex when all he really wanted was her.
Then JJ spotted you across the way and his whole face lit up. You looked hot. You were in a group of people with Sarah laughing at something someone said.
JJ wasn’t sure if he should approach you but he desperately wanted to hear your laugh.
You were mingling when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around and were surprised to see JJ.
“You’re here!”
“I am,” you responded.
“Have you had something to drink,” JJ noticing your empty hands.
“No I haven’t.”
“Come on, let’s get you something to take the edge off.” JJ insisted.
JJ guided you to where the keg was. He poured you a drink and handed it to you. Then he proceeded to pour one for himself.
“You look nice,” JJ smiled.
You took a sip of your beer trying to hide your blush.
“Thank you,” you answered shyly.
“Do you want to go down to the water?” You asked JJ.
“Yeah sure,” JJ called.
The two of you made your way to the waves and you stuck your feet in the water. JJ was wearing boots so he just stepped near the water.
“Ya know I’ve always loved the water. I used to come down to the beach with Sarah. First we would watch for dolphins. Then we’d play in the waves til sunset. It was always so magical and fun we wouldn’t even care walking back wet.”
“That sounds perfect.” JJ commented.
“It was,” you smiled.
All of a sudden you got an idea. When the next wave came bringing in water that went up to your knees, you scooped up some water and flicked it towards JJ.
JJ scoffed but then he began to laugh and he said, “oh it’s on.”
JJ then proceeded to splash you and you splashed him back. This caused you to erupt in a fit of giggles.
JJ finally got to hear your laugh and it was music to his ears.
Soon the both of you were soaked and you were both smiling. Then horror struck you as you realized you were wearing white.
“Oh my god!” You shrieked and your hands flew up to cover your chest.
JJ tried to get the image out of his head he really tried but your dress stuck to you like glue and he could see the outline of your nipples pass your light blue bra.
He thought about what it be like to suck on them and he instantly felt ashamed.
You were panicking. But it could’ve been worse you could’ve not been wearing shorts underneath your dress. Thank god you did.
JJ quickly took off his shirt and gave it to you. “Here.”
You looked relieved and JJ smiled.
You took it from him and pulled the wet garment over your head. “Thanks.”
“Come on I know somewhere we can dry off,” JJ extended his hand out for you to take.
This gesture didn’t go unnoticed by you but you didn’t question it. You laced your fingers with JJ’s and made your way to the château.
“First I need another drink,” you stated.
“We’ve got beer at John B’s.” JJ whispered.
“Ok.”
Once you arrived at the château, JJ led you through the hall into his room. He took out a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt along with a towel to dry off.
“Thank you JJ.”
After you changed in the bathroom JJ was already ready dressed in sweats and no shirt.
“You look good in my clothes,” JJ smirked.
You blushed and hoped it wasn’t noticed by JJ.
“You really think so?” you questioned.
“Yep,” JJ remarked.
You opened your arms signaling you wanted to give JJ a hug. JJ was surprised but he would certainly not pass up a hug from you.
You wrapped your arms around his neck and JJ circled his arms around the small of your back. JJ smelled your coconut shampoo and he declared it his new favorite smell.
You pulled away way to soon for JJ’s liking but he obliged none the less.
“Now you wanted another drink right?” JJ asked.
“Yeah.”
He walked over to the kitchen pulled open the fridge and took out a can of beer. Then he handed it to you. He also took one for himself.
“So do you want to watch a movie?” JJ asked.
“Sure.”
With a movie on the TV and the two of you sharing a blanket you both sipped your beers and watched the film.
After the movie was over you guys stayed up til 3am talking about anything and everything. When Sarah walked into the château she was surprised to see you cuddled up with JJ on the pull out couch.
You were facing JJ and he was facing you. You were tucked under his chin and his arms were around you.
Sarah decided not to disturb the two of you but she will definitely bring it up later.
The next day you were over at Sarah’s house.
“So what the hell is going on with you and JJ?” Sarah asked.
“What do you mean, nothing is happening between us.” you replied confused.
“Well I saw the two of you cuddling at John Bs. It was kinda cute.”
“Oh that.” you flushed. “We just fell asleep really late and it sorta just happened unconsciously.”
“Yeah right,” Sarah laughed.
“I’m being serious nothing is happening,” you frowned.
“But you want something to happen,” Sarah smirked.
“What? No I don’t, What makes you think that?”
“Well I think you like him because you hang out a lot,” Sarah reasoned.
“So.”
“So, jump his bones already.”
“Sarah!”
“What, come on I think you guys would be good together.” Sarah threw up her hands and tossed them back down.
“Well it’s not happening,” you crossed your arms.
——————
You guys lost the gold. Everyone was pissed beyond belief. Loosing the gold to ward impacted everyone. Everyone seemed to be down in the dumps. A few months later the fuss seemed to have died down.
In those few months you and JJ got closer. Your relationship blossomed.
Everyone was out on the boat except you. You were busy and missed out on the boat day.
The pogues were gliding through the water, wind in their hair. Sarah was sitting next to JJ when she noticed JJ staring longingly at Kiara.
When they arrived back at the château, Sarah pulled JJ aside.
“Listen I see the way you look at her.” Sarah spoke.
“Look at who,” JJ questioned.
“Kiara. It’s the same way you look at y/n.” Sarah responded.
“What are you implying.”
“Look all I’m saying is you need to choose between them or I will tell them everything.” Sarah’s words cutting like knives.
JJ was conflicted. He didn’t know what to do. He for sure didn’t want Sarah to tell you and Kiara everything. He liked both of you and he didn’t know how he was going to choose.
——————
The pogues were all outside the château chilling and drinking when you walked up to the action.
JJ immediately turned around and saw you. He was at a loss for words, you looked stunning and he felt something in his chest.
“Hey guys,” you started.
“Hi y/n!” John B responded.
Sarah gave you a wave and Kiara gave you a smile. Pope handed you a drink which you gladly accepted.
You sat down next to JJ and his heart fluttered. JJ seemed to always feel some type of way around you. These past months his feelings really grew stronger. He couldn’t help the floaty feeling he felt just by being in your presence.
“We were just talking about the fight at the bonfire.” John B announced.
“Oh yeah that was wild. I can’t believe that happened,” you stated.
“Really I thought it was pretty predictable.” Kiara reasoned.
Everyone laughed and continued to tell stories. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. You however thought JJ was unusually quiet.
Truth is JJ was at war with himself. He didn’t take what Sarah said lightly. He knew she would tell them everything if he didn’t make up his mind.
JJ laid awake at night wondering what to do. He just hoped he would come up with a solution soon.
—————
JJ didn’t know what he did to piss off his dad so badly. It must of been something really bad because his dad was fuming.
“You are a worthless piece of shit!” Luke shouted.
JJ tried to run away but Luke tackled him to the ground. Luke got on top of him and started to choke him. JJ tried to choke Luke back.
JJ used his knee to knee Luke in the side. JJ got up but Luke used his hand to grab a hold of his foot and tripped him. Luke started kicking JJ in the stomach and then pulled him up by his hair. There he held him against the wall and punched the living daylights out of him.
JJ and Luke burst through the screen door and JJ came out on top. He started beating up his dad and finally he said, “I ain’t scared of you anymore.”
—————
JJ was embarrassed. He didn’t want to be seen by any of his friends. He was all bruised up and he was hurting all over.
He slowly but surely made his way to the château, wincing with every step he took. Then he saw you laying in the hammock and he was scared of what you might think.
“Jayj,” you called.
He walked over to you and when he reached your spot you gasped. He was littered in bruises and it reminded you of Midsummers where his face was all beat up.
“What happened?” you asked very concerned.
JJ was hesitant with opening up to you. Not that he didn’t trust you he was just scared to be vulnerable. He also didn’t want your pity.
“Um it’s my dad,” JJ smiled weakly.
“JJ.” your voice broke.
In a haste you reached out and pulled JJ in a bone crushing hug. JJ winced causing you to pull back and apologize for hurting him.
“That son of a bitch, i’ll kill him.” You expressed angrily.
“No y/n don’t worry about it. This is not your battle.”
“Yes it is JJ. When it comes to you I’m always gonna fight for you.” you reasoned.
“I don’t deserve it or you.” JJ muttered.
“No what you don’t deserve is getting beaten by your own father.” You said sadly.
“I told you not to worry about it.” JJ responded.
“Well news flash JJ, I care about you a lot, and seeing you hurt breaks my heart.” Your voice wavering.
“Don’t be sad baby, I can’t stand to see you so sad.”
You cracked a small smile, and looked into his crystal blue eyes. You took ahold of his hand running your thumb over his knuckles.
Looking in to your eyes JJ realized something. He realized that it’s always been you. He thought back to Midsummers when he saw you for the first time in your dress. How you looked stunning and he fell in love right then and there.
He thought about all the times the two of you were together. All the lingering touches, the long nights filled with deep talks, all the fun you had together. He thought about how you cared about him and his well-being. He didn’t care that you were a kook at all.
JJ thought about all the times you were there for him. The times when you fell asleep cuddling. How you made him feel. You made his heart race and his palms sweat. You made him feel alive.
It was a no brainer he was picking you.
“I hate seeing you all bruised up, makes me wanna cry.” You responded.
“I’m ok, promise.”
“Come here,” JJ continued and outstretched his hand for you to take.
You gladly accepted his hand and he led you into the château. JJ made his way to his designated room and closed the door.
As soon as the door shut JJ slid his arms around your waist and engulfed you in a hug. Your arms wrapped around his neck and you buried your face in his shoulder.
After your hug of just holding each other, JJ placed his hand on your cheek.
“Can I kiss you?” JJ asked.
“Yes.”
JJ didn’t hesitate, he quickly placed his lips on yours. The kiss was tender and JJ felt sparks, like little mini fireworks were going off in his body. Soon the kiss got heated. You were excited to be kissing JJ. Your lips were capturing each other in a fiery kiss.
Your stomach started to get tingly and JJ felt blood rush through his veins. JJ was still cupping your cheek. Your hands were tangling in JJ’s hair.
JJ moved his hands to go under your shirt and you let out a small moan. JJ warm hands sent shockwaves through your skin. You went to take off you shirt, lifting the garment over your head. JJ eyed you in your bra for a moment than went back to kissing you.
You were stunning and your tits were spilling over your bra and JJ was practically drooling.
“I want this off,” you tugged on JJ’s shirt.
JJ lifted his shirt over his head and you gasped. His stomach was littered in bruises and you wished you never saw it.
Tears filled your eyes as you clamped a hand over your mouth.
“Don’t cry angel, please don’t cry,” JJ begged.
“I’m sorry it’s just I can’t stand to see you hurt or in pain. It makes me so sad and then I get this rage because you deserve so much more than what you were given,” you shared.
“I’m ok, I have you,” JJ smiled.
“JJ…”
“What? It’s fine,” JJ muttered.
“Get on the bed please,” you ordered.
JJ did what he was told and got on the bed. You moved to get on top of him. You were straddling his legs when you decided to kiss each one of his bruises on his stomach and ribs.
JJ let out a shaky breath as you kissed him. When you were done you looked up into his eyes and gave him a smile.
JJ flipped you over so that he was on top of you now.
“Let me make love to you please baby,” JJ requested.
“Ok J.”
So, JJ made you feel amazing and you had the best sex you ever had.
—————
You were on a mission. You were very upset and you needed to find JJ and sort this out. You marched up the steps of the château and found JJ on the couch.
“We need to talk, now.” You demanded.
“Ok let’s go to my room,” JJ replied.
Once you were in the privacy of JJ’s room you let it rip.
“I can’t believe you. How could I be so stupid,” you started.
“What are you talking about?” JJ asked.
“I’m talking about you liking me and Kiara at the same time!” you shouted.
“Oh that,” JJ cringed.
“Yeah that,” you raised your eyebrows at him.
“But I chose you!” JJ exclaimed.
Tears formed in your eyes but you refused to let them fall.
“That doesn’t change the fact you liked her while we were hanging out together.”
“I mean I was falling in love with you and you were thinking about some other girl,” you continued.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry but I want to be with you,” JJ apologized.
“i’ll never forgive you if you break my heart.”
“I won’t.”
“If we’re together and you suddenly decide you want to be with Kiara, I don’t know if I can handle that,” you reasoned.
“I promise I won’t leave you. You’re just gonna have to trust me”
“Jayj.”
“I’m serious y/n, I’m committed to you and I love you,” JJ choked out.
“I love you too,” you smiled weakly.
So, you decided to trust JJ and it was the best decision you ever made. He treated you right he loved you unconditionally and he made you happy.
Your heart did break when you found out from Sarah that JJ liked you and Kiara at the same time but he did choose you in the end. So you forgave him and never looked back.
————
Kiara has been waiting for JJ to make a move for a while now. She thought he would’ve asked her out by now.
When she found out from Sarah that you and JJ were together she was shocked. But she didn’t let that get her down. She dusted herself off and decided she should start dating.
Her and Pope have grown rather close and she wondered if Pope would ever go for her. She wanted to try her luck because nothing with JJ will ever happen.
She knew JJ liked her all this time and she waited for him but he never acted on his feelings. So Kiara decided to move on.
You and JJ loved each other a lot and throughout your relationship you both discovered new sides to yourself. A little while after you and JJ got together, Pope and Kiara got together. Everyone was happy.

it was a rare quiet evening when the stray kids members decided to gather at the minsung dorm for dinner. the suggestion had come from jisung, who eagerly offered to cook for the group, though it was mostly a guise to invite everyone to his and minho’s place without having to do too much work.
as the members shuffled inside, they were surprised by how spotless the dorm looked.
“did you guys finally clean up?” hyunjin teased, kicking off his shoes.
“no,” jisung replied absentmindedly. “it wasn’t like this this morning.”
“must’ve been my sister,” minho said casually as he walked toward the kitchen, not realizing the ripple his comment sent through the group.
“wait,” felix blinked, following closely behind. “your sister was here?”
“you have a sister?” seungmin added, voice tinged with disbelief.
“yes, I have a sister. y/n. i’ve mentioned her before,” minho said with a sigh, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“sure, you’ve mentioned her,” jeongin cut in, “but none of us have actually met her.”
“except for me,” jisung interjected with a smug grin.
“barely,” minho said, side-eyeing his roommate. “she only tolerates you because she feels sorry for me.”
jisung opened his mouth to argue but froze mid-thought. “wait, if she was here earlier… does that mean she’s still here?”
minho shrugged. “probably.”
at that moment, the members heard a faint rustling from the living room. they turned toward the sound, and there she was—y/n.
she was sitting cross-legged on the floor, glasses perched on her nose as she sorted through what looked like a stack of unfolded laundry, with soonie, doongie and dori surrounding her. she froze as soon as she realized the dorm was no longer empty, her eyes darting to minho in silent panic.
“relax,” minho said with a slight smirk, sensing her unease. “they’re harmless. for the most part.”
the room erupted in greetings, though y/n barely had a chance to process them before jisung stepped forward, his grin wide. “y/n! fancy seeing you not sneaking out before anyone arrives.”
she rolled her eyes but didn’t respond, instead shooting minho a glare. “you could’ve told me they were coming.”
“i forgot,” he said dismissively, grabbing a drink from the fridge.
“typical.”
the rest of the members watched the sibling interaction in awe. it wasn’t hard to see how alike they were—the sarcastic humor, the dry delivery, the subtle but obvious affection they hid behind teasing.
hyunjin was the first to speak. “wow, she really is minho’s sister.”
“i told you!” jisung exclaimed, looking smug again.
as the night went on, the members began to settle in. though y/n remained reserved, she eventually warmed up enough to answer felix’s curious questions and chuckle at jeongin’s jokes. minho kept a watchful eye on her the entire time, like a hawk ensuring no one overstepped any boundaries.
still, jisung couldn’t help but hover close to y/n, playfully nudging her or making random comments to get a reaction. minho noticed.
“jisung,” minho called, his voice dangerously calm, “stop bothering her.”
“i’m not bothering her,” jisung defended, though he immediately took a step back.
“you’re breathing near her. that’s enough.”
“oppa,” y/n said dryly, though her cheeks turned pink as she pushed her glasses further up her nose. “i can handle it.”
jisung caught the blush and grinned. “see? she’s fine!”
minho shot him a look that promised doom, and jisung immediately busied himself with serving dinner.
by the end of the night, y/n had begun to loosen up completely, even joining in the banter with the others. jisung, however, took it one step further, casually leaning close as they cleared the dishes together.
“you should visit more often,” he said quietly, his usual playfulness replaced with something more sincere.
y/n blinked up at him, caught off guard. “why?”
jisung shrugged, his eyes soft. “because it’s nice having you around.”
before she could respond, minho appeared behind them, arms crossed and eyes narrowing at jisung. “what’s going on here?”
“nothing!” jisung said quickly, stepping away from y/n.
minho didn’t buy it, but instead of saying more, he put a hand on y/n’s shoulder, steering her toward the door. “time for you to head home.”
“oppa, i can stay—”
“no,” he interrupted firmly, his eyes flicking to jisung. “you can’t.”
y/n sighed but didn’t argue, knowing better than to push when minho got like this. she turned back to the others, offering a small smile. “it was nice meeting you all.”
“come back soon!” felix called after her.
once the door shut behind her, minho turned back to the group, his gaze landing squarely on jisung.
“just so we’re clear,” he said, his tone deceptively light, “she’s off-limits.”
jisung raised his hands in surrender but couldn’t help the small grin tugging at his lips. off-limits or not, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to get her out of his head.
after y/n left, the atmosphere in the dorm shifted slightly. the usual energy returned—laughter, teasing, and banter—but every now and then, jisung would glance at the door as if expecting her to come back.
minho didn’t miss it.
“stop looking at the door like a lost puppy,” minho said bluntly, sliding into the seat next to jisung.
“i wasn’t!” jisung argued, his voice pitching higher than usual.
minho raised an eyebrow. “you were.”
“i just think she’s cool!” jisung protested, flustered.
“careful, jisung,” seungmin teased from the couch. “you’re one step away from catching feelings.”
jisung opened his mouth to argue but hesitated. “i mean, would it be so bad?”
the room went silent.
chan was the first to break it, laughing incredulously. “are you seriously saying this in front of minho?”
“yeah, man,” felix added, gesturing wildly. “have you met minho? he’s going to kill you.”
“not yet,” minho said, his voice eerily calm as he leaned back in his chair. “but keep talking, and i might reconsider.”
“okay, okay!” jisung said quickly, holding his hands up in surrender. “no one’s catching feelings, no one’s doing anything. it was just a hypothetical!”
“good,” minho said, standing up and brushing his hands on his jeans. “let’s keep it that way.”
meanwhile, y/n was already at home, curled up on the couch with her laptop. she had planned to study, but her mind kept drifting back to jisung’s parting words.
"it’s nice having you around."
she shook her head, trying to brush it off, but the way he had looked at her—like she wasn’t just minho’s sister but someone interesting—lingered in her mind longer than she wanted to admit.
over the next few weeks, y/n began visiting the minsung dorm a little less frequently. it wasn’t intentional, but between schoolwork and minho’s overly watchful eyes, she thought it best to create some distance.
but jisung noticed.
“hey,” he said casually one day as he caught her in the hallway of her university. he wasn’t supposed to be there—it wasn’t even close to his schedule—but felix had let it slip where y/n studied, and jisung couldn’t resist.
y/n blinked up at him in surprise. “what are you doing here?”
“me?” jisung said, leaning casually against the wall. “oh, you know, just in the area.”
she didn’t buy it for a second. “really.”
“okay, fine,” he admitted, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. “i might’ve asked felix where you study. don’t be mad.”
“i’m not mad,” she said, though her voice was skeptical. “just… confused?”
jisung rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “i just… haven’t seen you in a while. it’s been weird not having you around. i kind of got used to you hanging out at the dorm.”
y/n’s eyes softened at his honesty. “you could’ve just asked minho.”
“yeah, no,” jisung said, laughing nervously. “i value my life too much for that.”
she chuckled at that, pushing her glasses up. “well, i’ve been busy. school, projects, all that.”
“right, right,” jisung said, nodding. “but, uh… if you ever want a study buddy or just a break from all that, i’m always around. you don’t have to wait until minho’s not home to come by, you know.”
y/n smiled, her heart fluttering despite herself. “i’ll think about it.”
when y/n finally did stop by the minsung dorm again, it was unplanned. she had just finished a long day of classes and wanted somewhere quiet to relax. she wasn’t expecting jisung to be home—he was supposed to have practice—but when she unlocked the door and stepped inside, there he was, sprawled on the couch.
jisung froze, clearly caught off guard, but then his face broke into a grin. “y/n! finally decided to visit me, huh?”
“don’t flatter yourself,” she said, though her tone lacked its usual bite.
she set her bag down and made her way to the kitchen, but before she could get far, jisung called after her.
“wait, wait, wait,” he said, jumping up from the couch. “you just got here. sit down for a bit.”
“jisung, i’m tired—”
“so sit,” he said, gently guiding her to the couch.
y/n sighed but relented, sinking into the cushions. jisung sat beside her, his grin softening into something more sincere.
“i’m glad you’re here,” he said after a moment.
y/n glanced at him, surprised by his tone. “you really mean that, don’t you?”
“of course i do,” jisung said, his voice quiet but firm. “you’re more than just minho’s sister, you know. you’re… you. and i like having you around.”
before y/n could respond, the front door opened, and minho walked in. his eyes immediately narrowed as he saw jisung sitting so close to her.
“what’s going on here?” minho asked, his voice cold enough to send shivers down both their spines.
“nothing!” jisung and y/n said in unison, springing apart.
minho didn’t believe them for a second.
“jisung,” he said slowly, stepping closer, “if i find out you’re even thinking about crossing a line—”
“i’m not!” jisung interrupted quickly.
minho didn’t respond, his sharp gaze lingering on jisung before finally softening as he turned to y/n. “come on. i’ll take you home.”
y/n hesitated, glancing back at jisung, who gave her a small, reassuring smile.
“go ahead,” he said softly. “i’ll see you around.”
and despite minho’s protective glare, y/n couldn’t help but smile back.
the tension between jisung and minho seemed to grow subtly over the following weeks. it wasn’t outright hostility—minho wasn’t the type to explode—but his sharp eyes were always watching jisung whenever y/n was around.
and jisung? he tried his best to play it cool, but the way his eyes lingered on y/n whenever she visited didn’t go unnoticed.
one evening, y/n found herself back at the minsung dorm. she hadn’t planned to stay long—just drop off some of the snacks minho had asked for—but as soon as she stepped inside, jisung called her over.
“you’re just in time,” he said with a grin, motioning to the table. “we’re having movie night!”
“i wasn’t planning to stay,” she said, glancing toward the kitchen where minho was preparing dinner.
jisung tilted his head, feigning disappointment. “what? too cool to hang out with us now?”
minho’s voice cut in from the kitchen. “she’s not staying because she has better things to do.”
“like what?” jisung challenged, leaning toward y/n. “homework? that can wait.”
y/n hesitated. she had been feeling a little burned out lately, and the idea of a relaxed evening was tempting.
“fine,” she said finally, earning a victorious cheer from jisung.
the group eventually settled on a comedy, though jisung barely paid attention to the screen. he was too focused on y/n, sitting beside him with her knees tucked under her and her glasses slightly askew.
“want some popcorn?” he whispered, holding the bowl toward her.
she shook her head. “i’m good.”
he frowned. “come on, you haven’t eaten anything.”
“jisung, stop babying her,” minho said, appearing behind the couch with a plate of food. he handed it to y/n and crossed his arms. “eat this.”
y/n sighed but accepted the plate, muttering, “you’re worse than mom.”
“good,” minho said, ignoring the jab as he sat on the opposite side of the couch, purposefully positioning himself between y/n and jisung.
jisung opened his mouth to protest but thought better of it, sinking back into the cushions with a pout.
after the movie ended, the members slowly began to disperse, leaving y/n, jisung, and minho alone in the living room.
“you should head home,” minho said to y/n, standing up and stretching.
“i will,” she said, yawning. “but i’ll call a cab. it’s too cold to walk.”
“i’ll drive you,” minho said firmly.
“i can take her,” jisung offered, earning a glare from minho.
“you? take her?” minho scoffed. “you’d probably get lost halfway there.”
jisung rolled his eyes but didn’t argue, knowing it would only escalate.
y/n sighed, standing up and grabbing her bag. “it’s fine. i’ll just—”
“you’re coming with me,” minho said, cutting her off.
y/n gave him a look but didn’t argue, turning to jisung with a small smile. “thanks for the movie night. it was fun.”
“anytime,” jisung said, his grin softening as he watched her leave with minho.
the car ride was quiet until minho finally spoke, his tone laced with warning.
“whatever’s going on with you and jisung… stop it.”
“there’s nothing going on,” y/n said defensively.
“there better not be,” minho muttered. “he’s not the kind of guy you should get involved with.”
“and what’s that supposed to mean?” she snapped, crossing her arms.
“it means,” minho said, glancing at her briefly, “that i know jisung. he’s my best friend, he’s great, but he’s impulsive, messy, and doesn’t think things through. i don’t want you getting hurt because of him.”
y/n sighed, leaning back in her seat. “you know, i’m perfectly capable of making my own decisions.”
“not when it comes to this,” minho said firmly.
————————
despite minho’s warnings, jisung couldn’t help himself. he found excuses to text y/n—funny memes, random thoughts, and even the occasional, “what are you doing?”
and y/n? she found herself looking forward to his messages.
one night, jisung finally worked up the courage to ask her out.
“you’re kidding, right?” minho said when jisung brought it up, his voice calm but his eyes sharp.
“no, i’m not,” jisung said, standing his ground. “i like her, minho, i really do. and i think she likes me too.”
“that doesn’t matter,” minho said coldly. “she’s my sister, jisung. do you know how awkward it’ll be if you screw this up?”
“i’m not going to screw it up,” jisung said earnestly. “i’d never hurt her.”
minho stared at him for a long moment before finally sighing. “if she says no, you back off. and if you hurt her, jisung, i’ll make sure you regret it.”
jisung nodded, determination flickering in his eyes. “got it.”
when jisung finally asked y/n out—nervously stumbling over his words—she blinked up at him in surprise before breaking into a small smile.
“are you sure you want to deal with minho breathing down your neck?” she teased.
he laughed, scratching the back of his neck. “i’ve been dealing with that for years. what’s a little more?”
her smile widened as she nodded. “okay. let’s give it a shot.”
minho wasn’t thrilled, but he couldn’t deny the way jisung treated y/n—with patience, humor, and genuine care.
“just remember,” minho said one evening, pulling jisung aside. “if you mess this up, it’s not just her you’ll have to answer to. it’s me.”
jisung nodded, his expression serious. “i know.”
minho stared at him for a moment before nodding. “good. then maybe you’re not a complete idiot after all.”
jisung grinned. “thanks, hyung. that means a lot.”
minho rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile tugging at his lips. “don’t push it.”
as the weeks went by, things between y/n and jisung began to settle into a comfortable routine. they would spend more time together, texting throughout the day and meeting up after classes or during breaks. despite minho's constant watchful eyes, y/n found herself looking forward to their moments together. jisung made her laugh like no one else could, and she found herself drawn to his carefree nature, the way he could always make even the most mundane things feel exciting.
but even as their connection deepened, there was still that lingering tension between jisung and minho. minho didn’t ease up on his protective guard, constantly reminding jisung of his "duties" as her older brother. and jisung? he kept his promise to minho, but he couldn’t help but feel the weight of his words, especially when y/n would laugh at his jokes or lean in a little too close when they were watching a movie.
one evening, y/n found herself sitting on the couch at the minsung dorm, a bowl of popcorn in her lap as she scrolled through her phone. jisung had asked her to come over to watch a movie with him, but now, as she watched him mess with the speakers to get the sound right, she couldn't help but wonder if things were getting a little more complicated than she anticipated.
"hey, what's up?" jisung asked, sitting down next to her, his tone casual. "you seem a little distant tonight."
y/n looked up from her phone, meeting his gaze. "i'm just thinking about school stuff," she said, offering a small smile. "nothing major."
he raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced, but didn’t push her. "well, if you need to talk about it, i'm here," he said, his voice sincere. "you know that, right?"
y/n nodded. "i know."
they sat in silence for a moment, the tension between them palpable but comfortable, until the door to the dorm opened. minho stepped inside, his eyes immediately flicking over to the two of them on the couch.
"hey," minho greeted, his voice neutral as he walked into the kitchen. his eyes lingered on y/n and jisung for a split second, as if checking for any signs of something more, but he said nothing.
"hey, minho," jisung replied easily, though there was a hint of wariness in his voice.
y/n watched the interaction, noting how minho’s presence immediately shifted the atmosphere. she knew he wasn’t exactly thrilled about their growing connection, but she couldn't deny that it felt a little stifling sometimes.
“are you two planning on doing anything productive tonight, or is it just popcorn and movies?” minho asked, his back to them as he rummaged through the fridge.
“we’re watching a movie, minho,” y/n said, trying to lighten the mood. “no big plans, just relaxing.”
minho paused, his shoulders tense for a brief moment, but he didn’t turn around. “fine,” he said curtly, “just don’t stay up too late. you’ve got classes tomorrow.”
y/n rolled her eyes. “i know, i know. i’ll be fine.”
jisung, sensing the growing tension, stood up. “alright, enough of this. i’m making us some ramyeon,” he announced, grabbing his jacket off the floor, tossing it onto the couch. “anyone want some?”
“don’t you dare burn it like last time,” minho called over his shoulder.
jisung laughed, a little more nervously than usual. “i’ll try not to, hyung. no promises though.”
as jisung went to the kitchen, y/n turned to minho, her expression softening. “minho… you don’t have to be so protective.”
minho sighed, leaning against the counter. “it’s my job to look out for you, y/n. you know that.”
“i know,” she said quietly, her eyes meeting his. “but i’m not a kid anymore. i can take care of myself.”
“i know that too,” minho replied, his voice softening. “i just… i want to make sure you’re not getting hurt. that’s all.”
y/n smiled, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “i get it. but i can make my own decisions, minho. just trust me.”
minho didn’t respond, and the silence between them hung heavy. but just as it felt like the conversation would take a turn, jisung returned with the ramyeon, flashing a grin. “food’s ready. no drama while we’re eating, okay?”
y/n laughed lightly, the tension in the room dissipating for a moment. “thanks, jisung.”
“of course,” he said, handing her a bowl before settling next to her on the couch again. “so, what are we watching?”
minho, though still hovering in the background, glanced between the two of them for a moment longer before sighing. he finally relented, sitting down on the armchair nearby. “let’s just watch something and eat, okay?”
as the movie began, jisung leaned in closer to y/n, his arm casually brushing against hers. she glanced up at him, a slight smile forming on her lips. but just as she opened her mouth to say something, minho cleared his throat loudly.
jisung pulled back immediately, a sheepish grin on his face. “sorry, hyung,” he muttered.
y/n chuckled under her breath, leaning her head back against the couch. despite the tension, despite the protective older brother hovering around them, she couldn’t help but feel a flutter of warmth whenever jisung was around.
a few days later, minho found himself catching jisung outside the dorm as he was leaving. “we need to talk,” minho said, his tone serious but measured.
jisung nodded, already knowing where this was headed. “about y/n?”
“about y/n,” minho confirmed. “if you want to keep seeing her, you need to be clear about your intentions.”
jisung swallowed, his usual cocky demeanor slipping for a moment. “i’m not going to mess this up, minho. i care about her.”
minho’s eyes narrowed. “she’s my sister, jisung. don’t make me regret giving you a chance.”
“i won’t,” jisung said firmly, his voice steady. “i’ll do right by her. i promise.”
minho studied him for a moment, his gaze unreadable. “i’m holding you to that.”
jisung nodded, then let out a slow breath. “don’t worry. i’m not going anywhere.”
minho finally gave a curt nod and walked away, but not without casting one last wary glance back at jisung.

Kiss and Make Up - Norstappen x reader
If Lando wins the championship, I take full responsibility for it.
Warning: Like one swear? Arguments between Max and Lando
It’s the start of winter break, and you couldn’t be happier. You’re off of school for over a month and your boyfriends didn’t have any race for awhile. The perfect time to stay home and chill. Or so you thought. It started subtle at first, either boy saying they were staying over with a friend while the other was in your shared apartment. One of them always bailing on date night, but never both of them.
It all culminated one rare night when both boys were in the apartment, when you were watching Home Alone with Lando in the living room while Max was streaming. Lando was cuddled up to you, covered in the fuzziest blanket while you played with his curls. It was utter bliss. Well, it was until Max came out to the kitchen to refill his water bottle, knowing you would berate him if he drank only Red Bulls all day. As soon as Max opened the door to exit his stream room, Lando pulled his head from under your hand, sitting straight up, glaring at Max. Max didn’t notice at first, but once he did, he rolled his eyes and let out a scoff. You, having noticed Lando moving from under your hand, saw the whole interaction unfold. This was the last straw. You sat up on the couch and asked “What is up with you two? Ever since break started there’s been an animosity between you two. One of you always bails on dates or is staying with a friend.”
“It wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t steal the Championship from me,” Lando said.
“It’s not stealing when I was ahead the whole season. It’s not my fault you fumbled the bag,” Max responded.
Lando opens his mouth to reply but you beat him to it. “Okay, what we’re not gonna do is fight like we’re children. How about you two talk it out like normal, functioning adults.” Both men had their arms crossed, refusing to look at each other. “Okay, well if you two won’t talk it out with me here, I guess I’ll have to stay over at a friend’s place until you guys sort this out. This relationship only works with mutual respect.”
“Babe.”
“Schat,” they said at the same time.
“I won’t hear it. I’m gonna go pack my things, and I won’t be back until this is sorted.” With a final nod, you get up from the couch to go to your room to pack a suitcase.
The boys sit on the couch with as much space between them as possible. They stayed like that even after you left.
Lando let out a huff. “What does she think we are, a couple of kids fighting on the playground?”
Max sighs. He has missed having his boyfriend and hated having to tiptoe around him when he wanted to spend time with you. “I’m sorry for avoiding you. I know it must be hard for you to finally have a good enough car to be in the running for the championship only to barely miss the mark. It’s the closest anyone’s gotten and you’re part of that feat.”
“I’m sorry too, for all the bitchy comments I’ve about in interviews. You truly deserve this title, no matter what I say.”
They then go into a somewhat awkward hug, affection with each other was never either man’s strong suit.
“What were you two watching before all this?” Max asks.
“Home Alone,” Lando responds.
“What’s it about?” Max inquires.
“Oh, you’ve never seen it?! It’s a Christmas classic. Let me start it from the beginning.”
It wasn’t until the next morning that you got a text message saying they made up.

Facts & Analysis: Hen Begins, Chimney Begins, Bobby Begins.
This analysis will primarily focus on Tommy during these episodes. This will objectively and impartially show facts of what happens during these episodes, and also my personal analysis.
From someone who has watched the show since season 4.
Large recap at the end!
Chimney Begins
Eli is very integrated into this episode. He is friendly with the other guys, but is also a guide for Chimney. He is the reason Chimney becomes a paramedic, but also advises Chimney on how to deal with the other guys.
Tommy: “Hey Eli, you forget to tip the delivery guy?”
Tommy is intentionally a jackass at the beginning of this episode as it’s meant to highlight the current workplace culture of the 118 under Captain Gerrard. Gerrard perpetuates and approves this kind of behaviour, and it’s how you get in his good books. Gerrard has very clearly made the 118 a white boys club.
Chimney: “You just don’t like me very much do you?”
Tommy: “If I thought about you at all, I probably wouldn’t.”
At this moment, Chimney is going through the hazing and comments from the others. No one is standing up for him, but Eli gives him some advice and explains why they’re acting the way they do. With regard to the other firefighters, we don’t see Sal at all, so the focus is on Tommy and Gerrard, and obviously Eli.
Eli: “it’s not personal you know. Look in this job, friends die, and funerals are held. They’re not going to just give you their friendship until you earn their respect. They’re not just protecting you, they’re protecting themselves.”
Here, Eli has witnessed the previous interaction with Chimney and Tommy, and explains it isn’t personal, but the other guys won’t just give Chimney their friendship. There’s nothing overt here that suggests Tommy has no interest in being friends with Chim due to his race, as Eli explains it is a trust issue with Chim being the new guy who has yet to prove himself.
Although Tommy “joking” that Chimney is an untipped delivery guy has some racist undertones, Eli states the hazing and comments comes from a place of no trust as he is the new guy. Tommy also only makes these comments in the presence of Gerrard, likely looking for his approval and appraisal; just trying to fit in. He is conforming socially and professionally, even in the negative ways. This will be explained more in the Hen Begins section, but this is likely because he is scared of losing his job if he openly goes against Gerrard and also, knowing what we know now, trying to remain safely in the closet. This doesn’t excuse his behaviour, and I’m not trying to, but it does begin to explain it. Anyone openly going against Gerrard would face severe consequences. When Tommy is not an instigator, he is a bystander and does let this behaviour continue (for now….).
Here, Tommy and the others are the perfect (and intentional) example of the workplace culture Gerrard has created.
On Chim’s first fire call, he’s sat next to Tommy in the engine who is constantly looking over at him. This is also the call where Kevin dies.
Chimney very suddenly understands Eli’s speech about friends dying and trust.
Chim then runs in after Tommy doesn’t respond to the radio and pulls him out of an exploding building, and waits in the hospital afterwards. Whether Chim knows it or not as he does it, this is him trying to prove himself and prove that he can be trusted by the other guys.
Eli visits Tommy in the hospital, evidenced by the visitor badge he wears and the update he gives Chim on his condition, indicating they are friends or friendly.
“Kevin died, Eli.”
“And Tommy didn’t, because of you.”
After Tommy’s stint in the hospital, he builds a bridge with Chimney and apologises.
It’s worth nothing that although he doesn’t explicitly say the words “I’m sorry”, I’ve always interpreted this scene as an apology, as Tommy and Chimney are seen as friendly afterwards. Chimney has proven that he can be trusted, and Tommy is finally extending his friendship (just as Eli told Chimney he would).
Tommy: “Love Actually, monster trucks, craft beer”
Chim: “So you’re back. How’s that head of yours?”
Tommy: “Still fat, but clearer. You saved my life. Thank you”
Tommy then shakes Chimney’s hand and brings him into a hug.
Chim: “Thanks Tommy”
This conversation references an encounter earlier in the episode where Chim asks to build a bridge with Tommy, and says whatever his thing is, he’ll make it his thing too, just so they can get along.
Tommy and Eli then stand with Chim, and then stand behind Chim, when he talks to the woman that Kevin saved. Eli and Tommy can be seen together watching the conversation Chim has, with Gerrard stood by the side of the fire truck.
Tommy: “paramedic, huh?”
Eli: “a damn good one.”
Notes on the framing of scenes:
- Eli is also sat with Tommy and Gerrard during scenes.
- Tommy and Eli walk alongside each other at Kevin’s funeral
- Tommy is behind Chim as he’s ringing the bell at Kevin’s funeral.
Although small framing, at this point I do think it’s intentional to show that Eli and Tommy will be his friends at the 118- they could have shown any other firefighters behind him and next to him. I believe it also shows that Eli is also a bystander, and he is a good friend of Chimney’s by season 5 (when we see the reunite in Boston), however he is also accepted by Gerrard.
We’ve intentionally been introduced to Tommy in this episode as a friend, as one of the episode afterwards has Chim calling Tommy for a favour. In this episode alone, Tommy has been shown to grow as a character and become friends with Chimney, although he does display negative behaviours.
Hen Begins
Tommy smiles and asks “who’s this” when Gerrard introduces them to Hen, and frowns when Gerrard calls her their “diversity hire”. He is no longer necessarily an instigator, but more of a bystander. Objectively, also not great, but no one publicly stands up for her, although we do see Chim stand up for her and give her advice in private.
Tommy, just like with Chimney, does not welcome Hen with open arms. He is still standoffish with her and makes jackass comments, although it is also worth nothing he does not say anything racist to her. Knowing what we know from Chimney Begins, Tommy (and the others) are likely waiting for Hen to prove herself, as Chim had to do, before they extend their friendship. With Gerrard barking in their ears that she won’t be able to as a woman, Hen had more to prove than Chimney and probably took more for the others to accept her.
Chim doesn’t stop to help her when they’re all piling their tools into a pile for cleaning. He too is conforming professionally, not wanting to risk his job and stepping out of line. At this time, Chimney has been at the 118 for some years and knows how to not piss Gerrard off, evidenced by the advice he gives to Hen.
Tommy does say “New york bitchiness is a compliment?” and Chimney calls him out for it. Whether Tommy thought Chimney was insulting her by saying she had an “east coast vibe to her” is debatable. Referring back to Tommy trying to conform to Gerrard and gain his approval, this comment might have also been in the same vein, although this isn’t explicitly said. Knowing that Tommy is aware in the future of how he acted under Gerrard, it wouldn’t be a stretch to also assume he knows it’s wrong at the time, but is more concerned with self preservation than standing up for Hen. Furthermore, knowing that Gerrard is like Tommy’s father, he is probably conditioned to fall in line, even if he knows it is wrong. Not excusing the behaviour, but it might explain why. Hindsight from season 7 can definitely change the way we now interpret some of the interactions in this episode, but absolutely does not take away from Tommy acting like a jackass.
Gerrard explains that he doesn’t like women in his firehouse because she won’t be able to pull the men out if they’re hurt and it puts them in jeopardy. This is a massive exaggeration on Eli’s speech in Chimney Begins where he says that people die, which is why theyre not friends with Chimney yet. Gerrard is the only one who says this, and none of the others are shown to agree with him. However, it did likely have some impact on their hesitancy to be friends with Hen at this time, although we do see this change.
Chimney says to Hen “oh you think they’re inviting the asian guy round to their houses for beers?” When they’re privately talking. Chim is to Hen what Eli was to Chim, a guide to the 118. This shows Chimney is still facing some negativity from the rest of the team, but he is no longer eating at a separate table and is friendly with them. He also faces the racism they suffer from Gerrard. It can be argued here that he doesn’t mean Tommy as those two are seen to be friendly, although this is ambiguous. It could also be argued that Tommy and Chimney are only friendly in private if Tommy is still trying to remain in Gerrard’s good books, although this is pure speculation. We don’t see any interaction between Tommy and Gerrard, so their relationship is up in the air.
Chim does talk to Hen privately but does notably not defend her in public.
After the car collision, Sal and Tommy build a bridge with Hen, saying if they’d had followed Gerrard they wouldn’t have found the patient in time and that Hen is good. This is the first time we hear them go against Gerrard. Furthermore, it shows the positive impact that Hen has had on the 118 and the boys. She has proven herself, and also proven that they don’t have to fit into Gerrard’s mould.
It’s after that collision that Gerrard is removed from the 118 and Hen discovers that people have been making complaints about Gerrard and compliments of Hen.
It is heavily implied that it is Chim, Tommy, and possibly Sal who are making these complaints and compliments as these are the only characters we are explicitly introduced to from the 118. However, Gerrard is still seen harassing her. The fact that the complaints began after Hen joined the 118 highlight the positive impact she had on the firehouse and the team. She fundamentally helped change the 118 for good and also aided in Tommy’s character development. Again, retrospectively, her speech probably had a large impact on him as a closeted gay man.
This happens an indeterminate time after she joins the 118, but it would be safe to assume it has been weeks if not months. Knowing this, it means that Tommy (and Sal) have been okay with her and have liked her for some time, evidenced by the fact they have been submitting complaints about Gerrard’s treatment of her for some time. Although we don’t see them being friends in the open, they are shown to have disagreed with Gerrard’s methods for some time and are on Hen’s side. Even though Hen didn’t know it at the time, they were standing up for her in private and trying to make the 118 a better place by ousting Gerrard, likely inspired by Hen.
It is further implied that, likely due to Gerrard’s constant threats of termination if someone disobeys his orders, Tommy, Sal, and even Chim are falling inline with Gerrard’s regime- they won’t go against him in fear of losing their jobs. This is classic self preservation, with Sal and Tommy falling in line socially as well as professionally. Admittedly, Tommy and Sal fall in line more than Chimney, but after Gerrard leaves, they’re seen being friends, with Tommy seen being close friends with Hen and Chim.
However, while they are seen falling in line professionally and socially at the fire house, in private they are friendly with Chimney and have been submitting complaints about Gerrard and compliments about Hen, indicating they are aware of the bad workplace culture and no longer want to be a part of it. This is a big step in Tommy’s change, and he is no longer a bystander, but actively working on making himself better and standing up for Hen. It took a while, and he could have done it sooner, but that does not distract from the fact he still did it.
Although he physically does not say the words “sorry” to Hen and Chim, in both begins episodes, he is seen building a bridge and apologising to them, and giving them a handshake/hug.
“You saved my life, thank you”
“You’re good”
This is further amplified in Bobby Begins.
As this has been a big topic with the return of Gerrard in season 8, I would like to state that both Eli and Chim advised, essentially, to not cause trouble, keep working, and keep their spirits up, and that is how you survive the 118. None of them, except Hen, explicitly stood up to Gerrard until the end.
Bobby Begins
Hen and Chim are obviously friendly with everyone as Hen is walking around placing bets with everyone. She banters with Tommy, who obviously feels comfortable asking for credit on a bet, and the four of them (Sal, Tommy, Hen, and Chim) end up in a conversation together. In this conversation, they’re all bantering and laughing together.
This is a MASSIVE shift from the beginning of Hen and Chim Begins- it explicitly shows Tommy, Sal, Hen, and Chim being friends now that Gerrard has gone, which further indicates that Gerrard was the source of the problem, not Tommy or Sal. Objectively, their actions and comments did not help and some were in poor taste.
However, there is 10 years between Chimney begins and Bobby begins, meaning Chimney and Tommy have been working together for 10 years, the majority of that without Gerrard. They have had plenty of time to work through any issues. Furthermore, Tommy (and Sal) were shown to acknowledge that Gerrard’s (and by proxy, their own) behaviour was wrong, and took steps to change that workplace culture.
In the fire truck in the montage of calls, Tommy and Chim are seen laughing together at Bobby’s lack of direction.
Sal is also prepped in this episode to show that he isn’t aligning with Bobby’s methods, primarily because he wants to be captain, whereas Tommy is just waiting to see that he can trust him. This is consistent for Tommy with the past two begins episodes; Eli says they wont be friends with Chimney until he’s earned their respect as friends die in this line of work and they need to trust each other. This, if you remember, is ultimately what led Tommy to be friends with Chimney, after Chim saved his life.
Sal is openly defiant against Bobby, stating he’s a “piece of work”. Tommy chastises Sal and Chimney is visibly displeased at Sal. Tommy, Hen, and Chim are all visibly unhappy with Sal and try to stop him when he goes for Bobby.
Tommy not yet trusting Bobby is primarily seen after Bobby transfers Sal. Believing that he fired Sal, Tommy is hesitant to like Bobby as he believes firing Sal was too harsh, with the same sentiment echoed by Chimney and Hen, until the truth is revealed.
Hen then invites Bobby out, saying “some of us are going out for drinks… join us”. We then see Chim, Tommy, and Hen out drinking together. This is when Hen reveals that Sal was transferred and Tommy is happy to accept Bobby. The four of them then sit drinking, talking, and laughing. They even show each other all their scars while laughing and getting drunk.
This scene in particular establishes them as friends who now do hang out outside of work, in contrast to Hen begins where Chimney says “you think they’re inviting the Asian guy to their houses to drink beer?”. The three of them are sticking together as friends. All of Tommy’s character development has led up to this point: he is no longer an instigator, no longer a bystander, but a friend. He stood up for them and stood by them, following them into changing the 118 and the horrid culture Gerrard had created. They trust each other and are friends here.
Tommy, Chim, Hen, and Bobby then sit at the top of the dinner table together at the station, once again smiling and talking.
Their friendship is once again showcased when Tommy transfers to the 217, and Hen and Chim surprise him with balloons and a cake.
Recap
Tommy in particular is a symbol of the impact Hen, Chimney, and Bobby had on the 118. He is the personification of the changes the 118 went through. From an oppressive boys club, to a friendly and trusting house. Tommy himself goes through massive change at the 118 thanks to Chim, Hen, and Bobby. Tommy is not the point of the Begins episodes, but he is a symbol of the change the 118 went through and I have always believed that is fully intentional- they show the change through this person.
As stated, we see them become a group of friends after Gerrard leaves. Tommy also becomes aware about how Gerrard influenced him. We see this in his conversation with Buck, where he states that Gerrard was like the father he already had and Gerrard did not make him a better person. He is obviously aware of the type of person he used to be and doesn’t attempt to hide it, evidenced by his conversation with Buck. It also cannot be assumed that any of the other characters dislike him or hold a grudge either due to his friendship with them in season 7.
Chimney even mentions Tommy in 3x16: Buck is troubled by the fact that Red has no friends and lost touch with the other firefighters from the 134. Eddie asks Hen and Chim if they’re still in contact with the other guys they used to work with.
Hen: “um, I don’t know if we’d call some of them friends”
Chim: “Yeah, I spoke with Tommy last year… I was calling to ask for a favour, but…”
Chim is referencing when he calls Tommy in season 2 (shortly after he is stabbed) to inform him of the Doheney Park (?) fire and asks if the still works at the 217… Tommy then flies over and dumps water on the fire, saving Eddie’s life.
Hen acknowledges here that they weren’t friends with all the guys who used to work at the 118, hinting at the poor treatment Hen and Chim faced, but Chim makes is clear with his statement that Tommy does not fall under this category. They might not be friends anymore, but they’re on good terms, good enough for Chim to still have his phone number in 2023, and good enough for Tommy to trust Chimney’s instincts twice and use ‘borrowed’ municipal equipment.
In season 8, we also see the 118 conforming (or in Buck’s case, struggling to conform) to Gerrard’s captaincy. They aren’t falling in line like they did in 2005, but they know not to cause any trouble and just say “yes sir”. They are also not publicly standing up for Buck when Gerrard berates him. To me, this is the biggest sign that they all know the best way to survive Gerrard is to say yes, keep your head down, and not cause trouble. This is likely what Tommy and Sal also had to do in 2005. Although they did take it a step further and make jackass comments, they were falling in line to protect themselves, just like Hen, Chim, and Eddie are doing in season 8, which they state in 8x01. They know now, just like they knew ~20 years ago, that standing up against Gerrard would have severe consequences.
No one is asking you to like how Tommy acts at the beginning of Hen and Chim begins: he is purposefully written as a jackass at the beginning to display the workplace environment Gerrard has created. However, it is objectively ignorant to continue on as if he has had no character development. It is intentionally written and shown that he fundamentally changed as a person thanks to Chimney and Hen, and Gerrard’s departure. By Bobby Begins, Tommy is ingrained with Hen and Chim and they are close friends. It is shown in both Chimney Begins and Hen Begins that he made up with them and became friends with them both. Those are scenes that are in the episode.
You don’t have to forgive him, but you have to acknowledge that the characters have. If we fast forward to season 7 and Tommy’s return, you’ll see:
Bobby saying that Tommy is good people and good for Buck.
Chimney saying that Tommy is so cool.
Hen smiling when Buck and Tommy arrived at Chimney’s hospital wedding.
Those are not the reactions of people disliking Tommy or holding a grudge.
I don’t like how he is written at the beginning of the begins episodes either, but I understand it is intentionally written that way, and that it is also intentionally written to show he has been forgiven and is now friends with everyone. That was half the point of the begins episodes- to show the positive impact that Hen, Chim, and Bobby had on the 118 and the other firefighters working there.

Chan never knew if he was going to date again after his last relationship. Especially with a kid. But he knew he had to try when he met Y/n. She had just moved into his building and he’d run into her when grabbing a package. And his daughter, ever the extrovert, decided she needed a new friend.
Which turned into his daughter asking Y/n to help her braid her hair for a sleepover with her cousins and uncle— something her Uncle Felix and her had planned when his daughter blabbed “Daddy thinks our new neighbor is pretty” to the younger Aussie.
So now Y/n was sitting on the couch with Chan watching over her shoulder, trying to learn how the hell to do a Dutch braid. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
“Nali Bang,” Chan replied to his daughter’s question while Y/n laughed with the little girl
“No. I don’t have a boyfriend,” Y/n smiled, finishing the braid and tying it
“You and Daddy should go on a date,” Nali said and both adults looked at each other, blushing a little as the doorbell rang. “Uncle Felix!”
Nali ran to the door and her dad followed while Y/n cleaned up the hair supplies. She heard a little conversation as she packed her things before she heard Nali telling bye to her. Y/n responded as the door closed.
“Thank you for helping with her hair. And I’m sorry about that,” Chan said sheepishly
“You’re welcome and don’t worry about it. She’s five, kids say stuff,” Y/n laughed
     “Yeah,” Chan sighed
“But I’m free the rest of the night.”
“Are you asking me on a date?” Chan smiled
“No. Just stating I have free time.”
The two looked at each other and then laughed. “Well, I'm free too. Wanna go out with me?” Chan said
That’s how it went for almost four months. Nali would spend time with her cousins when they were free or with her mom and Y/n and Chan would go on a date. They hadn’t told the little girl yet since nothing was serious yet.
“Does Nali’s mom know you're seeing me?” Y/n asked as they were walking back to the building from their dinner and movie
“She does. Nali I guess talked her ear off about you after we first met so she asked about you. At the time we were just neighbors but after our second date, I told her that we were seeing each other. Why?”
“Just thinking. I don’t want her to be blindsided and think I'm trying to replace her…”
“I’ve made her aware but I can always ask if you guys want to meet and talk,” Chan offered as they turned into their building and made their way to Chan’s unit
“You think we’re that serious? For me to meet her mom and be another mom for Nali?”
“Yeah. Nali’s mom and I agreed a long time ago we work better as friends so nothing was left of the relationship. She’s seen other people and I’ve met them before Nali has. Just didn’t work that way for us but she’s been supportive of us so far.”
“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you really like me.” Y/n giggled
“I do, a lot,” Chan admitted
The two laughed as they got to Chan’s floor. He took out his keys and opened the door. He let her in first and the two kicked off their shoes and hung up their things.
Y/n walked to his living room with him following before veering to the kitchen. Chan came back with a couple of wine glasses and a bottle as Y/n turned his TV on, a little tradition now for them.
Chan set the items on the table and wrapped his arms around her before she could sit. Y/n smiled and rested her arms around his shoulders
“Stay over tonight?” Chan offered, “Or the weekend.”
     “Lonely without someone else here.”
     “Yeah. Especially you.”
"Are you implying that you want to kiss me?"
“I hope I’m implying a lot more than just kissing you.”
Y/n smiled and pulled him closer. Chan met her halfway and pressed his lips to hers. Y/n melted into his lips as he held her as close as he could. Their lips moved in sync before Chan maneuvered them onto the couch. Pressing her down to the seats and hands moving down to her hips. Pressing them together as his tongue poked at the seal of their lips.
Y/n tangled her fingers in his hair as his tongue found its way into her mouth and tangled with hers. Y/n moaned and wrapped her legs around his hips. Chan smiled into their kiss, moving his hands to the back of her thighs. He pulled away from her lips after a few more moments.
“I like you like this,” Chan smiled
     “Like what?” Y/n asked
     “Under me.”
     “Stop flirting and fuck me.”
Chan laughed and sat up, tossing off his shirt as she did the same. The two stripping themselves before both of them were on each other again. Chan pushed two fingers into her as their lips reconnected. Catching the moan that left her throat and swallowing the sound as he stretched her out with his fingers.
“Chan,” Y/n moaned as he moved down to kiss her neck.
Chan hummed in response, lips leaving kisses along her neck. Listening to her beg and plead with him to fuck her. Chan smiled at her eagerness and continued working her open just a bit longer before her begging finally got to him and he couldn’t hold back anymore. “Fuck,” Chan groaned as he pulled his finger out of her. He pulled away from her neck and looked down between their legs; guiding himself into her. Y/n moaned as he slid into her, holding onto him as he split her open.
“Fuck,” Y/n moaned as he slowly started thrusting in and out of her, rubbing her clit with his thumb
“Feel good baby?” Chan asked, “Doing so good for me.”
     “Deeper, please Channie,” Y/n moaned
     “Soon baby, promise.” Chan said
Y/n moaned. Slowly Chan worked himself deeper into her. Her legs wrapping around his waist tighter as his pace increased. Chan sat up a bit and supported himself by holding onto the armrest behind her. Y/n tried biting back her moans as their hips met, trying not to be to loud and Chan didn’t get a noise complaint later. Even though Chan didn’t care and was high on hearing her moans.
Her walls clenching around him made him feel like he was on cloud nine. Rubbing her clit as his hips rolled into hers. “Close Channie.”
“Yeah? Gonna make a mess for me?”
Y/n could only nodded, her orgasm was closer than she thought. A few more thrusts later and her back was arching off the sofa as her jaw dropped. Chan fucked her through it. Making sure she was finished before he pulled out and jerked himself to the finish line. His cum landing on her stomach.
Silence took over the two, just their breathing and the TV playing in the back. Chan kissed her forehead before getting up and grabbing a towel from his bathroom, cleaning her up before sitting her up and pulling her onto his lap. Y/n smiled as she rested his head against his chest. “Be my girlfriend?” Chan asked as he held her clothes
      “I’d love too.” Y/n replied

DC X DP X Captain Marvel/Shazam
So I had this idea for a dc/dp crossover (mostly about billy and danny). Anyway, Danny and Billy are both children around fourteen years old, both are posing as immortal heroes to the Justice League, and both have huge responsibilities that the fate of the universe depends on (Ghost King Danny). In conclusion, I think they would be SCARILY good friends, honestly brothers really.
Here’s how I think it would go (I’m not the greatest writer so bear with me)
Billy had just returned from his latest mission, and not the fun beat-up-some-badguys-then-go-home kind, he had been off-world (and off-dimension at times) near constantly for the past few weeks in some greater beings version of a joke, and had missed the latest JL meeting. He was currently stepping out of the beta tubes after getting what? Four? Hours of sleep. He shook his head, glad that I’m his powered form he couldn’t feel tired like Billy did(and less glad about the faint chattering of the Gods in his head).
‘Okay, time for the meeting!’ He thought with sarcastic joy in his head, pulling his features into a soft smile. He walked down the halls to the meeting room, it may seem like he was going at a fast pace, but compared to how fast he could go, he was currently a snail. He hovered(no not literally) outside the door for a moment before brightening his smile and walking in.
“Hey guys!” He said joyfully, glad to see he wasn’t the last to arrive, “sorry about not calling in at the last meeting, my communicator broke and I wasn’t exactly able to get in touch without dropping everything and I couldn’t … do that.” He paused as he noticed a new person at the table, which he vaguely recognized as one of the possible recruits for a new member. Something about them seemed… different, not in a bad way! But still-
Batman grunts… uh… he could never tell if that was good or bad, he looks up at the masked vigilante and waits for him to say something(I mean it was 50/50 whether that was the sentence or if it preceded it) “Marvel,” ah so this was one of the times it was followed by a sentence, “I expect your reports by the next meeting,” darn it “This is Phantom, he was introduced to the League while you were away.” He says with a nod at the new member, who smiled and waved at him. Billy waves back, it would be rude not to right? And sits at his normal spot, which is near(but not directly next to) the white haired hero. He sat still for a solid five seconds before becoming bored, if he knew how these meeting went(and he did) flash would probably show up a minute or two late, leaving about… ten or so minutes. He mentally sighs, turning to face Phantom.
“So…” he says before he can even think of what to ask, the other looking towards him, “Phantom huh? Are you a ghost of some sort?” He asked, he wanted to assume so, but then again Phantom girl wasn’t a ghost, so he might not be. And he would have to be a pretty powerful ghost to be seen by normal people, or maybe he was invisible? No he could tell that the others could see him- and he was getting off track, thank goodness for the speed of mercury or else that train of thought may have stopped him from seeing the other’s answer.
Phantom nodded, tilting his head and then saying “yeah, everyone keeps assuming I’m an alien for some reason? Do you guys not interact with ghosts that often?” Marvel thought for a moment, “The main members don’t really, but The JL dark does, deadman is a member and he’s a ghost. Have you met him yet? He asked in return after answering his question.
Phantom’s eyes widened, “Deadman? I’ve heard of him but we haven’t met.” He responded, his face stretching into a smile that was bordering on inhuman. “I have yet to meet another ghost that’s a hero, all the ones I’ve met either fought with me or don’t leave the realms,” he sighed. Now it was Billy’s turn to smile. “The realms? As in the infinite realms??? Aw man I’ve been meaning to visit but I haven’t count the time! What’s it like? Does it really have the most diverse population of magical creatures? What about the new ghost prince? I’ve heard he’s much better than the old king!” He spouted with maybe a little bit of speed of mercury, and he really did want to know more about the ghost prince, he had to meet him later.
Before a (surprised looking) Phantom could answer, the meeting was started, he hadn’t noticed the people filtering in until an apologetic speedster sat down between him and the ghost.
Finishing up the meeting, oh gods finally, Marvel could feel how tired Billy was. He stood up to leave but was faced with Phantom looking at him, oh woah he was really tall for being so skinny as tall as he was!(and he was eight feet tall!!!).
“How do you know about the new ghost prince.” Phantom asked in a voice slightly below a normal volume, Billy looked him over, he didn’t seem hostile, just curious, so he thought back to try and remember. “Oh uh, I guess I was informed by some of my… coworkers” he said carefully, hey he couldn’t go ‘oh yeah the gods in my head told me and I’m the champion of magic’ he was trying to avoid the league learning that for goodness sakes!!!(sue him if he didn’t want the magic users of the league to never talk to him normally again or gain more attention from Batman). He saw phantom’s eyes narrow, “These coworkers must be pretty high up on the power chain if they know, the new prince kept the change from the old king to him restricted to those who needed to know,” oh, oops? Wait how did he know then? “So are you in one of these upper circles then?” Marvel asked, getting a small smile from the other, who responded with “Something like that, and who are you getting this info through?” He said, not letting him redirect the conversation as he had hoped he could. “I have a contact from the rock of eternity” he said quickly, hey it was kind of true, he did have contacts there and marvel was the reason why he knew. Phantom made a small ‘:o’ face and simply said “Oh” before glancing at a nearby clock and sighing. “I WILL be asking about that, but until then I have Infinite Realm duties, higher circles and all that.” He muttered the last part before leaving through the window of all places.
Marvel glances at the clock himself and cursed(internally, he would never curse in this form), speaking of the ghost prince, he had a meeting with him.
Yay I did it :D!!!

ꪆ୧ ── ROMANTIC LIFE ┊ INSIDER'S VIEW ﹑ JJK. ⤿ starring: megumi fushiguro as main male lead.
꒰ heart to him ﹢ a sneak peek into what's probably the very beginning of your relationship with megumi — how it started, to be exact. just two highschool students who found themselves a little attracted to each other.
𖧷 · love, ‘su: megumi = 2nd year student, you = 3rd year. both start as strangers into friends into (potential) lovers. split into two ‘chapters’ to break it up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
꒰১ CHAPTER ONE ﹕ it all started when…
“...pretty.”
“damn, for real?! i’ve been trying to work on my manliness. thanks, bro.”
megumi’s immediately snapped out of his trance. he zoned out of the conversation minutes ago, preferring to focus on the encounter he had with a stranger earlier.
being immersed in his head, he had no idea he’d begun to get vocal. from sighs that reek of longing to random compliments as seen before. the three friends that circled around his desk didn’t mind his absence in the conversation — rather, they played into it. whenever he said something entirely unrelated, they’d respond as if they’re the ones he’s daydreaming about.
somehow, megumi failed to notice until itadori responded to him.
“no.” is what megumi replied. with one eyebrow raised, he quickly looked up and down itadori’s frame.
“but you called itadori pretty, dude!”
“can it.” his defences rose. “i wasn’t talking about him.”
a collective “oh?” came from everyone — even the students who weren’t a part of the group’s conversation. the boys leaned in closer, eyes set on megumi.
“is this perhaps fushiguro’s first love scenario?!” tichi gasped, already trying to piece together what an interaction between megumi and a love interest would look like.
“ah.” itadori folds his arms across his chest, nodding with eyes closed. “so i’m not ugly!”
the other friend kept quiet, waiting for megumi to reveal more information.
as for the main character in the moment, megumi’s ears flushed a particular shade of red — one that usually indicates embarrassment. a heat overtook his body; being the centre of attention for his group and the long-eared classmates certainly wasn’t the most ideal situation for him.
but megumi must keep his cool. he has an image to maintain — the image of “that one guy who’s always unimpressed.”
reaching a hand to scratch the sides of his neck, he gave a sigh before satisfying everyone’s curiosity.
“it’s a girl…”
“gender reveal!”
“anyway, she’s a third year.”
silence unfolds. megumi doesn’t continue after that, and the crowd doesn’t give their input — all except for a fellow classmate who’s definitely going to put the two together. as someone who has connections with the third-year students, he’s going to be megumi’s fairy godmother.
“well, well, well.”
heads turn to the voice — even megumi’s eyes met the owner’s.
“what’s her name? if you say it, i can make connections. the third years are graduating in a few months — time is not on your side,” tacho says, walking towards megumi with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
quite a dramatic entrance for someone who’s on cleaning duties after class.
“dude, do you think you’re in a show?” the unfortunate twin brother of tacho, tichi, sighs.
ignoring his brother, tacho leans down to megumi, maintaining eye contact with the boy. not just any eye contact though, the eye contact that screams business! boss to employee eye contact!
“i’m not telling.” megumi refused.
“boohoo, you’re lame.” tacho fakes a cry.
“but,” megumi continues, regaining his position as the centre of attention. “if i manage to talk to her and don’t get her number… i’ll tell you.”
“deal?” tacho’s ears perked up. he liked what he heard.
“deal.”
“pinky promise?”
“what are we, eight?” megumi frowned almost immediately.
there’s finally something for the second-year students of class 2B to look forward to. the love story progression between megumi fushiguro and the mysterious third-year student.
P.O.V SWITCH ⟡ THIRD-YEAR STUDENT, Y/N.
“psst, y/n!” a crumpled page hits the back of your head.
“what?!” you whisper-yelled, turning around to face the culprit.
“what’s the answer for question forty-five? is it b or d?” the culprit asked with urgency and desperation. the first multiple-choice mock exam of the week is certainly handing his ass back to him.
your expression flatlined — you should’ve known it wasn’t anything important.
“don’t you have your phone on you?! just cheat.” not-so-good advice was exchanged through whispering.
“that’s too much work!”
“then choose b. ‘b’ as in bat. if you get it wrong, blame mai.”
the perfect third-year class experience: getting an answer from a friend who got it from a friend who got it from a— you get the point. mock exams aren’t always taken seriously, it might as well be a regular class.
although there wasn’t a need to cheat for the answers yourself, you were too lazy to debate whether the answer was this or that based on the previous mock exam. call that the curse of repeated questions.
with thirty-five minutes left on the clock, you circled the final answer before closing the booklet. there’s nothing more relaxing than taking a nap after finishing an exam. it’s not like you can leave anyway.
“if you’re finished, leave the classroom. don’t be noisy in the halls or you're getting failed.
…apparently you can now.
you wasted no time in getting out. leaving a friend in need hurts you, but he can consider it revenge for throwing a paper ball at your head.
stretching your limbs, you snuck up behind mai, lightly kicking behind her knees to surprise her.
“fuck— y/n!”
“hey, shhhhh. we’re in the halls~” you hushed her, reminding her of the warning the class received beforehand.
mai showed no sign of regret. she’s heard that warning ever since elementary school days — it’s nothing more than empty words.
“you believe that shit?” she asked, disappointment lacing her tone.
“do i look stupid in your eyes?” you asked, saddened at how your friend viewed you.
mai nodded, ignoring your offended reaction. tapping twice on her phone screen, she hummed and slid it back into her skirt’s pocket.
“my ex messaged.”
“i thought you blocked—”
“anyway, let’s go get an early lunch before the younger ones.”
mai cut you off from finishing your sentence. she completely forgot that she told you a lie.
-> 11:15 A.M ◟ under the oak tree.
two ladies enjoying the gentle breeze as leaves dance along the wind’s track. they were having a meal, appreciating the shade they got from the tree along with the silence that came from being dismissed during class time.
the two totally weren’t ignoring the complaints from the sole person who’s been going nonstop since he came out of the classroom. he’s not appreciating the wrong answers given to him from a friend who got it from a friend (×2).
“—she said it was c. can you believe that?! C?!”
“wait.” you sat up straight. “who said that?”
“the fucking teacher! were you even listening to me?!”
“no, not really…” you’re guilty as charged.
“teru, swear upon your life that she said the answer’s c.” mai spoke with authority.
“i swear, dude.”
the senior student life: friends saying “fuck” in a exhausted way together. the reaction of when you know you completely fucked up.
another moment of silence was enjoyed. this time, it was a silence where everyone came to terms with the possibility of failing the entire exam — it’s only the beginning of many, many mock exams to come.
clicking your tongue, you decide to break the silence.
“so, mai’s ex messaged her but didn’t she say she blocked him?”
gossip time!
“plain lie.” teru expressed disappointment.
“watch that tongue. he unblocked himself.” mai defended herself.
“and i can turn water back into wine.” teru refuted.
“let’s not jump mai now,” min said. “i saw y/n talking to some guy during our first break.”
all eyes on you now. you couldn’t put a face to the guy you were talking to, but you sure as hell won’t go down without defending yourself.
“tsk, tsk. and you’re talking about me?!” mai shakes her head, happy with the party forgetting about the supposed-to-have-been-blocked ex.
“min, you were silent all the time. when you finally speak you throw shots at me?! i was just helping him!”
“and i can part the ocean into two.” teru once again expresses sarcasm.
“zip it, terushima.” you glared at him. “i don’t even know the guy, okay? cut me some slack!”
“what year is he in?” min asked, stuffing her mouth with mini marshmallows.
“dunno. probably second? he’s kinda tall with insane bed hair but i don’t remember his face…” you bit your lips trying to recall his face, but you couldn’t.
“was his hair black?” again, min questions.
“yeah.”
“no tie, sleeves rolled up to the elbow?”
“i think… maybe?”
“it’s probably megumi fushiguro.” popping the final marshmallow into her mouth, she dusted her hands off, ignoring the surprised reactions.
“okay google. who even is that? why do you know the second years’ full names…” teru questioned min, judging her for her knowledge of the students.
“well, she’s in the student council… anyway, i wanna see this fushiguro.” mai’s interest has peaked. sleeves rolled up to the elbow with no tie? he’s probably a mischievous kid.
your response is a bit later than the other two. you were repeating the name ‘megumi fushiguro’ in your head.
“his name has a nice ring to it.” finally you spoke.
“he’s a second year!” teru’s shocked at your interest in him. just a moment ago you couldn’t put a face to him. you probably can’t put a face to the name either.
“just a year younger, no biggie.” you shrugged
“how are you gonna talk to him?” mai asked, wondering if you’d walk around the second year’s floor questioning everyone on who’s megumi fushiguro.
“who said anything about that?” you shook your head. “if i see him, i see him.”
“more like if you hear his name, you hear it.”
“terushima.”
min suddenly claps, outing the fire that would’ve ignited between you and the bitchy boy.
“i’ll give him y/n’s number, but you have to send screenshots.” she offered a trade.
“i would’ve done that anyway.”
P.O.V SWITCH ⟡ MEGUMI FUSHIGURO.
-> 02:30 P.M ◟ sudden after school meeting.
the lesson megumi learnt today was to never reveal anything to his friends again. he was kept hostage all day without a single chance to catch a glimpse at the newfound crush.
whenever they could’ve, the phrase you’d hear kids singing was sung to him: “megumi and a third-year student kissing in a tree! k.i.s.s.i.n.g!”
for the first time in his life, he experienced what it’s like to hate something from the very core of his heart. it got to the point where he sneaked away from the group to leave the school grounds alone. however, even that led to no peace. he was bothered once more.
“fushiguro?” someone called out to him, lightly patting his shoulder.
he didn’t show it, but he was certainly spooked. the increased racing of his heart provides evidence of such.
“yes? oh, it’s you, min.” he turned around, keeping his poker face. can’t be caught having expressions in the school grounds.
“yup. so, that third-year girl you met during the first break, here’s her number.”
min stuck a sticky note on the pocket of his shirt, ready to walk back to where her destination is.
“wait— are you close to her?” megumi mentally cringes. he acted on impulse.
“yeah, that’s my friend. bye now.”
and she’s gone, leaving a stunned megumi in the hallway. he can’t believe it was this easy to get your number. seeing that he’s alone… maybe he can do some victory moves.
“DAMN! she beat me to it.”
“tacho, can’t you ever be quiet?!”
“was that her? she's pretty...”
“nope, that’s the friend.”
never mind. he forgot he’s got four friends who are master spies — fueled by the fact that they can’t mind their business.
turning back around to the group, he puts a hand on his hip.
“are you guys serious?”
“as serious as you are, brother.” itadori’s hand rests on his chest, providing an answer on behalf of the others.
an exasperated sigh left megumi. one day he’ll consider transferring schools.
-> 06:38 P.M ◟ courage! dominance! bravery!
megumi’s a male. a male that lacks courage, dominance, and bravery when it comes to love-related situations. once he finished his after school routine, he got comfortable in bed and is currently staring at his phone, contemplating on whether he should send you a message or not.
after a serious meeting with himself and the voice in his head, he mustered up the courage to send you a message.
megumi: hey. this is megumi fushiguro, from second year (2B).
five minutes of silence before a “ding!” is heard. he purposefully set his phone to ring after he sent the message.
y/n: oh hello i’m y/n!!
y/n: third year (3A) as u probably already know
excitement overtook megumi and he’s not pleased with it. suddenly, he’s making a typo every two words, palms sweaty, and smiling.
y/n: what’s up hru
y/n: hope min didn’t scare you
megumi: i’m alright, just bored. wby?
megumi: she didn’t scare me. i was a bit stunned, though.
y/n is typing…
y/n: that’s good! i’m bored too
y/n: sick of these assignments </3
y/n: drop out before it’s too late you hear me?
y/n: ok don’t but it’s an option if you’re privileged enough
megumi: lol i’ll think about it.
megumi: thanks for the help earlier btw.
y/n: anytime bro igu
y/n: oh i gtg
y/n: i forgot my mom asked me to do smth oops
y/n: we can talk later or tmr in school okay
y/n: bye ^^
megumi: good luck, y/n. bye.
y/n is offline.
“wow...” he re-reads the conversation, looking at the amount of messages you sent compared to his. “she’s chatty.”
his excitement calmed down a little after you went offline. actually, it was replaced with annoyance. it’s almost as if the guys put a timer and recorder on his phone. they texted the exact minute he came off your chat.
(20+) new messages from ‘cool gc name’:
> tacho: megumi don’t leave us hanging

it’s too late, though. because everyone’s online, the others can see that everyone, including megumi, read the messages. caught red-handed.

꒰১ CHAPTER TWO ﹕ good morning?!
P.O.V SWITCH ⟡ THIRD-YEAR STUDENT, Y/N.
it’s not a proper morning unless your mother blinds your vision with the lightbulb of heaven, mai spamming your messages, teru asking for your mom’s breakfast, and min stealing your hoodie for herself.
truly, this is peak highschool friendship. you couldn’t have asked for more. in the classroom 7:30 A.M on the dot with the air conditioner’s cranked up to the coldest. you were copying assignment answers from another classmate and the group scrolled through the chat with megumi.
“he’s the type to text with actual grammar,” mai says, pulling her lollipop out of her mouth with a “pop” sound.
“short ass conversation.” teru does what he’s best at: judging.
“you guys actually texted this morning?” min’s surprised. “when it’s with us you just dip the convo and never text until it’s some random hour where everyone’s asleep.”
“i told you i usually dip to play games!”
“lies and more lies.” mai clicks her tongue. “anyway, teru did you read their convo?”
“barely. the awkwardness pained me.”
“here, read it.”
teru hesitantly took hold of your phone, scrolling back to the beginning of today’s chat with megumi. with a gulp of fear, he reads the messages.
y/n: im back
y/n: well the next day
y/n: still counts!
megumi: morning. welcome back.
y/n: oh right good morning!!
y/n: what r u doing
y/n: im fucking up this sandwich
megumi: nothing really. i’m on my bed.
y/n: did u eat breakfast
“did you eat breakfast?!? this cliché.”
“shut up and read quietly, teru!” embarrassment hit you at that moment.
megumi: no. i don’t particularly like breakfast.
megumi: well, not this early into the morning.
y/n: ur more of a brunch guy ???
megumi: preferably. what about you?
y/n: me personally i just eat if im hungry
y/n: even during class i sneak in some bites
megumi: really? you sound like a fun deskmate.
y/n: aww ty!! you sound like a reserved guy
y/n: wish u were my deskmate. the one i have just sleeps
y/n: mind u shes apart of the student council
megumi: min?
y/n: yes!! gotta be principal’s niece privileges
y/n: i love her tho she's very nice
megumi: she is. you are too.
“were you guys flirting or just being honest?”
“bro, i don’t even know.”
y/n: i will definitely meet u today
y/n: somehow
y/n: gtg now see u later
megumi: bye.
teru swipes off the app, closes your phone, and places it face down on your desk. his expression seems serious — all three of you girls are silent.
“i’ve got to see what this dude’s like,” he begins. “so, i’ll be hanging around outside all day with the guys.”
“yes! be useful for once and get some intel.” mai’s now eager. she raises a hand to hold teru’s to which he accepts with the same enthusiasm.
you remained silent, wondering if you should make up a bullshit excuse to visit megumi’s classroom. realistically speaking, you can visit whatever classroom you like as a third-year student, but you don’t want to come off as abrupt.
“what’s on your mind, y/n?” min asks, poking your arm.
“i kinda wanna see megumi — given that i don’t remember his face at all.”
“ah.” both girls react the same way, nodding at your words.
“why not text him?” mai suggests.
“nah, too early for that.” you decline.
“well, we can walk around where the second years usually are. or we can just wait on teru.” mai revealed plan b and plan c.
you and min agreed, opting for the second one. you’ve got eight hours of class school anyway, there’s time to see him “by chance.”
-> 10:02 A.M ◟ first break of the day.
two minutes into your break and you felt your phone vibrate. you slid it slightly out of your pocket — just enough to where you can read the time and notifications.
(1) new message from terushima: lemme borrow five dollars
instagram: follower request from @tachosandcheese , @itadoredbull
+99 new emails.
“anything important? did he message?” min teases, eyeing your phone.
“who’s tachosandcheese and itadoredbull?” mai asks, slightly impressed by the usernames.
“no clue and no, he didn’t text.” you press your phone’s power button. “i’ll view those two insta accounts later.”
shrugging, you stood up from your chair, stretching your limbs before you make a move to the cafeteria.
“she’s already gone— mai, can’t we stay here?”
“get your lazy ass up, min.”
“i hate you both.”
P.O.V SWITCH ⟡ MEGUMI FUSHIGURO.
-> 10:02 A.M ◟ in the gym.
megumi and the four friends are currently downing entire water bottles in one go. having physical education class first thing in the morning isn’t what they’d look forward to. this break is hardly a break. they have yet another p.e class awaiting them after.
once they calmed down, tacho started up a conversation.
“so, i was talking to itadori last night right?”
they hum in response.
“and we found min’s instagram profile.”
“doesn’t surprise me.” toeni shrugs.
“yeah, did you find the one for megumi’s?” tichi says what megumi wanted to.
“well,” itadori unlocks his phone, showing the group a screenshot of an instagram account. “we think this is her.”
the group leans in, studying your supposed profile’s aesthetic.
“that’s a private private account, for real. it doesn’t look like there’s her name anywhere.” toeni’s the first to say something.
they all look at megumi, waiting for him to clarify. he’s the only one who knows your name.
“it’s not there.” he satisfies their curiosity again.
“dude, if we requested the wrong profile i’ll deactivate.”
“i’m with you on that one, itadori.”
they all continue to gossip, taking turns to tell a story until the class of hell begun once more. hopefully they can hold out until lunch break… hopefully.
-> 02:36 P.M ◟ end of school: not so unsuccessful.
the thing megumi looked forward to the most did not happen. he’s trying to not dwell on it too much — you’re a senior student, chances of you being busy are high.
somehow, it seems as if megumi has a skill for meeting your friends after school but not you. this time he was stopped by a guy who quickly informed him of the completely platonic relationship between him and you.
the information given to megumi by the friend, teru, was quite helpful — if megumi had the balls that is.
“if you’re looking to meet her alone, go to that large oak tree, she’s always there.”
advice he’s going to hold dearly. he won’t go directly (at least not right now) but he’ll get a view of you from a spot closer.
double tapping on his phone’s screen, he unlocks it before locking it back immediately. he wants to text, but school just finished. he will wait another four hours.
it’s not like he’ll be free to talk anyway. his friends decided that he needs to experience going on dates. there’s an unfortunate busy schedule of arcade and night market business later.
P.O.V SWITCH ⟡ THIRD-YEAR STUDENT, Y/N.
you’ve nothing to do — literally. chores are completed, no assignments, finished end-game content on your games, watched everything that interested you — quite literally nothing to do.
it’s eight p.m. you lost count on the amount of times you changed positions in bed and let out sighs of boredom. you’d call your friends but that’ll just end up with you all complaining about boredom.
at times like this you wished you had a boyfriend or something of the sort to be entertained by.
megumi.
but he hasn’t texted. should you do it first? he did text first initially.
grabbing your phone, opened megumi’s chat, ready to send a few messages.
y/n: hey wyd rn
megumi is typing…
megumi: hi. i’m at a night market with my friends.
megumi: the reception’s a bit bad.
megumi: the messages aren’t sending fast enough.
y/n: woah was that ur first triple text???
y/n: go megumi go!
megumi: you’re rubbing off on me a bit.
y/n: glad to hear my influence is strong
megumi: are you bored?
y/n: bored to the point of death
y/n: how’d u know
megumi: [photo attachment]
megumi: would you like one?
megumi: sorry. the messages aren’t sending in order.
megumi: but which keychain do you like?
y/n: thats ok dw
y/n: as for the keychains uhhh
y/n: i cant choose u do it
megumi: are you sure?
y/n: yeah do it
megumi is typing…
“how bad is the reception over there… he’s been typing for a hot minute,” you mumbled, unaware of the smile settled on your face.
megumi: nvm. it won’t send.
megumi: i’ll send a voice message.
y/n: fine by me bro
megumi’s message made you realise you also somewhat forgot what his voice sounded like. your boredom has officially been defeated.
megumi: [+ voice message: 00:20s]
“hi, y/n – if that’s how you pronounce it. i’ll buy you the black keychain since it'll match anything. i’m not sure if you’d want any— is that the girl? hi we’re megumi’s friends!! i’m tac— fuck off, tacho. as i was saying – it’s megumi speaking by the way – would you like anything else?”
the chaos of the voice message got a laugh out of you. you could’ve heard a faint “he’s so mean!” at the end of it – it was probably the tacho guy.
y/n: mmmm i dont want anything really
y/n: just buy two of what ur getting
y/n: we’ll match
megumi: sure.
megumi: talk to you later or when i get back.
megumi: sorry about my friends.
y/n: it’s okkkkkk they seem fun
y/n: mine would’ve stolen my phone during the voice message
megumi: seems like our friend groups are alike.
megumi: later. sleep well if you’re going to sleep.
y/n: and you stay safe!!
megumi is offline.
and the boredom returns. man, you really do need a little entertainment from a guy. just look at how megumi kept you smiling when he’s only met you once. tragic.
‘if tomorrow’s saturday…’ the voice in your head ponders, trying to piece together a potential date. it appears you have a gift or two to collect; maybe — just maybe you can further this short talking stage. you’re too impatient for it anyway.

extra: olivia rodrigo is my mom , if i was y/n i would’ve slapped the shit out of jake but let’s not get too physical here eh?? :] , i haven’t seen much jake angst (because he’s the most loving human ever??? he would NEVER ever do something like this) so here i am… :D
likes, comments, and reposts are very much appreciated <3
[below the cut]
“thanks for making me get $100, babe”
you look up from your seat to see your boyfriend, jake holding a $100 bill between his index and middle fingers. he sent you a wink which already made you blush like crazy but then you slowly processed the words.
what?
“what?” your expression dropped. you looked at jake, waiting for a response for what he meant.
“i said,” he planted his two hands in front of his desk, staring down at you with his beautiful eyes of his. you stared back with nothing but confusion in your eyes.
“thanks for letting me have $100 sweet cheeks.” jake’s lips curved up. he slowly leaned towards your cheeks, pecking them before proudly looking down at his cash.
that little nickname he gave you made your hearts do back flips as usual.
you stood still before replying, “what do you mean? you used me?”
you’ve liked jake ever since he was in the school’s soccer team since sophomore year. he’s popular for his smartness, his godly visuals, his amazing personality of his that steals the hearts of girls, and his talents.
your introverted personality of yours didn’t dare to make a move on jake. you were undoubtedly shy and didn’t like social interaction very much. all of the girls were in line to ask him out and directly confess their love to him, but you didn’t. you weren’t in line, you were just observing him from the side, mentally noting what he likes, didn’t like, what topics he likes to talk about and many more.
the only proof that you like him was through a little post it note you had on your desk before leaving to go to cafeteria.
sim jaeyun <3
was all you’ve written in pink in your yellow post it note. you haven’t told anyone, even your closest friend for you would be afraid of the public teasing that would soon eventually let the whole school know you like jake.
five months, he suddenly asked you out because he thought you were the “most beautiful girl i had ever laid eyes on but was scared to make a move”, quoted by sim jake himself.
at first you didn’t question it as to why he randomly asked you out.
you remember that day, you were blushing like crazy, heart almost ripping out of your rib cage, and you had all sorts of scenarios and activities both you and jake can do because both of you are in a relationship.
well, were in a relationship.
“yeah.” your thoughts were interrupted when jake responded with a heartless tone. “i admit that you were cute when you bought me gifts, but either than that,
i’ve never liked you.” his tone was monotonous.
is that why i reminded him of my birthday? is that why i reminded him of our monthsavrie? when my classes end? is that why i was the first to everything? good morning texts?
thinking about your past memories where you felt the most happy with jake,
was all just an act. just for the damn $100 dollars.
jake being the first one to hold your hand whenever both of you met, even if it’s a minute in the hallways or meeting after school ended, him being the first to notice you shivering and toss you his hoodie even if he was cold, him volunteering to help you study your subjects even if it’s 2am, him wiping your lips with his soft fingers from eating ice cream, him listening to your rants and sobs whenever your parents fight late at night, and always looking at you with nothing but love and admiration you believed,
all an act?
you lowered your head, trying to contain your proper breathing and trying not let your tears fall down. you exhaled, closing your eyes.
“who asked you?”
jake’s face slightly clenched when seeing your eyes filled with rage yet tears threatening to spill out. “who asked you for the bet?” you asked once again but with a firm tone. you didn’t break eye contact. you were thinking of his friends he always hung out with, park sunghoon, yang jungwon, lee heeseung, and many more but you felt like these people - your best friends as well - would never hurt you like that.
instead of being sad and running away, you’re staring at your ex boyfriend with bitterness. the loving stare you’ve had towards jake was rather replaced as if he’s your enemy. yeah, you’ve been backstabbed.
“does it matter?” jake tilted his head, shrugging it off. “what matters is i got my money.” he flicked his bill right in front of your face, his tongue peaking when he mockingly smiled at you.
you glanced at the dollar and then back at jake.
“did i mean nothing to you?” you asked, your thoughts suddenly spilling from your lips. “was our relationship nothing to you?” a tear spilled out of your eyes. seconds later, multiple of them were easily sliding down your cheeks.
you stood up from your seat, looking directly into jake’s emotionless eyes. “did you have fun playing with my feelings? did you enjoy taking my likeness towards you as an advantage? were your friends having fun hyping us up whenever we were around them? did you at least have some fucking sympathy for me!?”
after screaming, you looked down. you were going crazy. literally.
“god, y/n calm down. you’re embarrassing me, lower your volume.” jake crinkled his nose, eyes wandering around to see if there was anyone near the both of you.
despite not looking at him, you can hear the annoyance in his tone and the rolling of his eyes whenever you guys argue. he would call you “overdramatic.”
“fine.” you gulped before looking at him. you imagined yourself as a crying mess. it’s like every argument you had, jake would not cry, but you were.
you had to contain yourself to not let your emotions overwhelm you, but it’s hard right now.
you just got used for money.
“i hope that $100 dollar bill reminds you how much of a shitty person you are.” you grabbed your book bag and ran for your life.
out of that suffocating room.
i can’t believe it, you thought.
he’s a bitch he’s a bitch why is he a bitch!? why did he choose me!? why did he hurt me? i did nothing but .. love him and be there for him.. what did i do to get treated like this??
your chest hurts like shit, you can’t breathe, you can’t think properly, all you wanna do is to hide forever and never face jake the following monday at school. you wanted to go anywhere. anywhere but be in a room with him, sim jaeyun.
god, love is fucking embarrassing as hell.
