i’m also obsessed with the fact that gorim according to the toolset notes is always in love with a female player even one who is not in a relationship with him, so for example, when he says “rumour has it that harrowmont hopes you’ll be swept off your feet if a well-placed young nobleman wins the provings in your honour”, the line is always supposed to be read with the context “a little resentful—he loves the player and hates that she can still be courted by those of higher rank than him”. and only if you’ve already rejected him can you respond “don’t sulk. it’s unattractive”. which in that context is an insane thing to say.

One thing I like about Apollo in Hades 2 is that he is usually polite, especially respectful towards his elders, but if they provoke him he will get back at them. But in a subtle manner, and only after a few seconds will you realise that he was throwing shade.

Madeline thinks that Ruffnut is the absolute coolest person ever. She’s got a little baby idol crush on her. She squeals like a fan girl every time she sees Ruffnut, bounces for joy whenever the Dark Orca pirates have to work with the Dragon Riders for whatever reason, she’ll grab Ruffnut’s hand shouting ‘DIBS’ if they have to split up. Because to Madeline, Ruffnut’s the most amazing girl ever.

Because how could Ruffnut not be the coolest person ever? Madeline doesn’t see how people don’t think so. Look at Ruffnut! She’s got awesome hair. She rides a dragon, and an awesome one at that. She’s amazing at sabotage and pranks. She mouths off to any and all authority. She asserts her femininity every time someone assumes she’s a dude. She kicks peoples butts wearing skirts, and broke someone’s nose over a dress during a big sale at a market. AND, she knows stuff about Tidal Class Dragons! Madeline’s absolute most favorite class of dragon of all time! Immediately Ruffnut is the coolest person ever, with Ant being Madeline’s eventual second favorite Dragon Rider, because he’s around her age, her sabotage buddy, and he rides a Night Fury. Me musing to myself: how to go about this... I think mizuki still feels, personally, like they could be possibly fem enby, or possibly specifically x-gender, considering the momentary resignation when explaining to that well-meaning classmate in anni4 that yes, she does like wearing 'cool' stuff, just particularly likes wearing cute things, and that absolutely rang to me like 'complicated gender Stuff™ for cis people: intro class analogy 'cause i'm not getting into it'. Also i like how using multiple pronouns in English helps nod to the fact that some things are lost in translation, so it'll be a nice touch to acknowledge some of the unique gender identities that spring up in Japan. So when i write fics i will continue to use both they and she for Mizuki as I feel is right and shift according to how i'm writing for that piec-

dunno how to articulate my thoughts without sounding mean but i'll try my best; it's so exciting when jh tries a new color and it's also exciting when he also seems to be enjoying it, but i think a problem in fandom culture in general is that need to have ownership over your [thing you like], in this case, jh, a real person. like you can be sad that jh is losing or toning down his purple hair because it was a good color and he looks good, but also at the end of the day it's his hair on his head and what he wants to do w his hair is his business only.

i say this because jh said in the latest radio station that he is going to tone down his purple hair in a few days, not because he doesnt like the color, but because his hair grows outward, a common thing that happens with your hair when you are of asian or hispanic descent. he needs down perms to literally "put down" the hair instead of it sticking straight out of his head. and down perms can fuck with the color if it's dyed.

so with this in mind, jh keeps his hair "boring" and black because he would rather his hair not be sticking straight out of his head and he doesnt want to sacrifice more time at the salon for color correction when it can just be his natural color. and thats really valid of him, just as it's valid of any other member or kpop idol to constantly dye their hair. it's his choice just like theirs and fans should respect his choice more.
