President Trump, standing alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a joint news conference at the White House, said the U.S. would "take over the Gaza Strip" and "own it," promoting the idea that the Palestinian people should live elsewhere.

Mr. Trump said the Palestinians in Gaza "should not go through a process of rebuilding" and said they had "lived a miserable existence there." Earlier in the afternoon, during a meeting with Netanyahu in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump said the Palestinians should "resettle permanently" in "nice homes" somewhere else.

At the very end of the work day on Friday, the government issued a "stop work" order to refugee resettlement agencies. It affects government-funded services for people who have recently arrived in the country as refugees.

It is... hard to comprehend the cruelty here.

This specifically targets people who may have arrived *days* ago (legally, as refugees) and who receive essential services to help them thrive in the United States.

These services are things like short-term housing until they can sign their own lease (which already happens VERY quickly, like within 90 days). Things like getting the kids registered for school, access to a doctor and an intro to getting healthcare here, help finding their first job.... really, really, really basic stuff.

Definitely look up the refugee resettlement programs in your area and see what they're asking for right now. This is a HUGE crisis.

After years railing against immigrants coming to America, Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday to prioritize the U.S. resettlement of white South African “refugees” suffering from what he called “government-sponsored race-based discrimination.”

That includes more than 1,600 Afghans who assisted the US’s war effort, as well as relatives of active-duty US military personnel. Donald Trump paused the program this week as part of a series of executive orders cracking down on immigration. His move had left open the possibility that refugees who had been screened to come to the US and had flights booked before Monday’s deadline might be able to get in under the wire. But in an email dated Tuesday and reviewed by the Associated Press, the US agency overseeing refugee processing and arrivals told staff and stakeholders: “Refugee arrivals to the United States have been suspended until further notice.” The US president has had a busy first 24 hours back in the White House. He attended various events and signed executive orders and memorandums. A little more than 10,000 refugees from around the world had already gone through the lengthy vetting process to come to the US and had travel scheduled over the next few weeks, according to a document obtained by the AP. It was not immediately clear how many of those had been set to arrive by the upcoming deadline. When LetterTale was originally created in 2018, I originally wrote first few of the comics with the intention that R! Lexi had DID. Of course since I was literally 8 at the time and had a mom who didn't believe DID was even real, it was pretty... bad

I didn't know the terms at the time, but this was essentially their role when writing. The host was the main, calm one, not much to say. The little was much more childish and chaotic. The trauma holder was always sad and trying to isolate herself, usually fronted after the "evil persecutor." The persecutor was a straight up murderer

These are stereotypes and the persecutor is especially offensive to those with DID and OSDD, you guys deserve better reputation. In 2019, I scrapped it after hearing about this movie called Split and people's criticisms about it. This is part of the reason of why Lexi's characterization is so confusing

I do believe I still accidentally DID-coded Lexi in some ways (like used to have R! Lexi being able to control L! Lexi, the AUs of Lexi being able to meet inside their head at times, Lexi viewing some of her actions as "out of her control", etc). Though, Lexi does not have DID and never will and I do not want headcanons of Lexi having DID

(I'm so stupid lmao, this is another reason of why Lexi's characterization is confusing and often conflicting. I have symptoms of DID that I'm talking about to my therapist and my therapist believes I may have that, as well as me in the process of seeing if I fit any diagnosis criteria of any disorder I haven't been diagnosed with yet)

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday aimed at freezing assistance to South Africa over a controversial law that allows the government to seize farmland from ethnic minorities — namely White farmers — without compensation, as well as the country’s stance against Israel and its war in Gaza.

Trump said in the order the United States would no longer support South Africa with foreign aid if such policies, which he claims highlight a “shocking disregard for its citizens” and amount to “human rights violations,” continue, ordering US agencies to stop providing any aid to South Africa unless deemed necessary.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has previously denied that South African authorities were “confiscating land” and said his country was looking forward to working with the Trump administration “over our land reform policy.”

Trump’s order also directs the United States to assist Afrikaners — an ethnic group descended from European settlers — who are fleeing South Africa due to discrimination, including helping them resettle through refugee programs.
