Let's talk about Frankie's yellowing hair problem.

It's unfortunately not the glue seepage as it's also happening to g2, which did away with the dreaded glue head. Saran is already an off-white when it's white, and it wasn't that noticeable at first, especially against her green skin. There is also the fact that I prefer the off-white to the stark white for most of their dolls.

This is a lineup of g1 original elastic hips Frankie, g2 from the dance line, g3 that I got for Christmas, and a g3 skultimate secrets I picked up around Halloween I think? Maybe longer.

The g3 SS doll, as you can see, has the whitest hair of the lot even if it's older [has been outside and in sunlight more. Idk when the batches were made] Then the g3 basic. That's because they unfortunately have polypropylene. I don't have any dolls with white poly hair, so I don't know how long it's going to stay that bright, but I'm willing to bet it lasts longer than the saran.

That being said, I think I still prefer the saran for now due to texture and how well the fiber holds. I will say against their new blue skin tone, the yellow stands out a bit more imo.

Now some of you who want to avoid yellowing hair might think "Oh, but what about nylon?

Well I wondered this too so I wnt and grabbed my Rainbow High dolls with white hair to check it out and we'll it doesn't seem so bad but it's also not as old as G1 but there is a noticeable difference between Heather and Amaya who are about 3 years apart, though Amaya is a rescue who had been previously played with. So that might factor in some.

Though notably amaya and g3 Frankie have similar shades of white currently so we're already staring off brighter with Nylon as she came out around 2019.

possible Avery Styles Jr. High reroot color combos, please vote for what you personally think would look best on her!! pls take into account her factory eye makeup (lavendar, pink, white with black liner)! thanks in advance, this would be my first total reroot ever.

Auburn with thermal color changing hair as front highlights only to frame face (changes from lavender to platinum blonde). It sounds cute in theory but not sure how cute it would actually look... hair would be blonde most of the time (51* F color change)

2. Same idea as 1 (face-framing highlight) but with black base. Would even consider full head of highlights on black base!

3. Black Base/Color changing (pink) highlight(s). 81* F goes from pink to white.

4. "Cotton Candy Pink" blondeish with foxglove lavender highlight(s)

5. Platinum with foxglove lavendar streaks

6. Auburn/Platinum front highlights

7. Auburn/Cotton Candy Pink Blondish front highlights

Has everyone been having fun with the Harveston rerun? Coincidentally, I've been working on Epel's applepom outfit and just finished it.

This before pic shows the doll whose head I used--only mermaid Barbies seem to have lavender hair, so I actually took her head off and stuck it on a different body. I also modified the legs to ensure Epel would be shorter than everyone else. Gotta keep it accurate, right?

I decided to give her a more icey look, forgoing the standard black streaks for white, I also wanted to show off her adorable widows peak!

I only have one more doll to reroot and then I'm DONE! For now at least, till the next inevitable polypropylene headed dolls from Monster High come out.

I've been repainting a budget draculaura to look like the freak du chic one - because i love her faceup but dont have that kind of money 😭 so i'll just make my own version! 💗 also loved the red hair for her more than a pink!

This is the "the dark green hair I had planned for years to use turned out to be polypropylene so I had to choose something different and I didn't have anything else even vaguely close to dark green so I decided to leave her original very clone doll style top-of-the-head-only black hair in place and add more hair under in a rainbow gradient, only I wanted to keep it all nylon and the only green nylon I had was kind of pale and oh huh turns out the yellow is too, might as well finish it up with pale orange and pink and sure why not some white" doll I worked on the other day.

Between her hair color combination, the Hasbro Descendants body limiting the clothing options, and the replacement feet that are as big and awkward as the originals (but, hey, ankle articulation) making the shoe selection even more limited than the clothes...I have not been able to figure out how to dress this doll. The candy corn dress is my favorite, but it feels so low-effort

My G3 Clawdeen reroot is finally done! I used an auburn/brown blend of saran with some brunette saran underneath and near the front, thanks to customdollhairau. I then curled it with pipe cleaners and let her soak in boiling water until cool. I'm really pleased it created the style I was after and it's still so soft and shiny! Much better than that awful poly she came with! I put her back in her og outfit for now, with the addition of a Disney ILY4Ever headband which I think really works for her. Hopefully I can find something more fun for her to wear once I get my doll space together!

Finally got a Venus's core doll! Got curious, and put her in Music Festival Venus's shirt, and aside from the arms being tight, it fits shockingly well.

I made a new pattern for doll cargo pants, and I have been testing variations. These are... more or less inspired by Y2K fashion. Kit, Shani, and the rerooted redhead Looks Tamika doll I've named Letitia, are wearing these. I don't think I've ever put more than six real pockets on one pair of doll pants, but these all have seven. I also made a new top and sleeves for Shani.

(The Heart Family MTM hybrid girl, who sneaked into one of the photos, is wearing an outfit I made in 2023/2024, but never got around to photographing much.)

The diorama in the background is made mostly from cardboard and egg cartons.

okay, at long last, we have our doll repaint (and video) finished! Between me being perpetually ill for over a month, my editing app playing up AGAIN, a sudden and unexpected puppy rescue, and then Storm Darragh cutting all my power, water, heat and wifi for days, this one has taken me forever. But, now I can finally introduce Griselda Goblin! As well as the accompanying YouTube video! (Please watch, I think my unintentional leave of absence will have ruined my algorithm placement 😅)

This Rochelle was my very first MH doll. She was the first MH doll I ever saw, and I was blown away by her concept. But I always had a vision of her with lighter, more stoney pink hair.

13 years after getting Rochelle, my dream has come true! I wish I could say that this is my reroot, but it’s actually the amazing work of Sivon at DreamDollRepair on Etsy. I highly recommend their shop if you’re like me, with a vision for your doll but little patience to reroot.

Rochelle holds a special place in my heart, and now seeing her with this hair, she finally feels complete 🥹
