Lol, I never called you a right-winger. But if you’re getting confused it might be because your narrator lines up with theirs on this aspect. (Regardless of your cop-out excuse about positive/negative rights; I’m sure plenty of conservatives have used this same argument as en excuse for NOT providing these rights).

I fully admit that we’ve both been talking about the same thing. But rights are defined and granted by the society in which citizens live. We have “human rights” as defined by various global collectives—doesn’t mean that individual societies or collections of people agree with them. Hard-leftists simply believe that these things should be afforded to all its citizens (No questions), it doesn’t matter to me how you go about granting that (it’s possible). Conservatives are actively seeking to take these things away. Not just make access to food more difficult; but literally starve the poor.

I get it, you don’t think we can reasonably mandate that people recieve these things by default (or that it’s somehow not fair). So do republicans. But by not enforcing equitable treatment, it does in fact infringe on the three inalienable rights that we’re supposedly granted as citizens of this country, and that’s why we disagree.

But if your entire gripe has literally been about the difference between what you’ve identified as “positive/negative” rights, then wtaf? What are you even doing other than arguing semantics just for the hell of it? Labeling “positive” rights as entitlements is exactly why Conservatives say social welfare is just a handout for lazy people in the first place. But no, let’s keep nitpicking so we can keep the status quo.
