getting weird looks from people for saying in casual conversation that i would prefer china to be the world hegemonic power over the u.s. but theyre the only major world power to be doing literally anything significant wrt to climate change and the energy transition how is this even controversial
#cuba vietnam and some small island countries which basically have no choice bc theyre facing imminent destruction by climate change#are the only efforts ive seen to drastically reorganize housing and energy systems and have an actual crisis system set up#also vienna apparently has been like doing all this climate protection stuff and there was very little damage from a huge storm surge#seen ppl attribute this to influence of left wing parties in vienna but i rly dont know much about contemp politics there#mine
