It isn’t often that Izuru frequents any restaurant this early in the day. Just past noon, and the place is bustling with lunchtime activity — a few shinigami already getting started with a hot meal or even a drink, a fair number of Seireitei residents looking for a hot bowl of noodles. Even so, the place is much less crowded than he’s come to expect in the late evenings he usually spends here, usually with friends.

That isn’t to say that his current company isn’t a friend, of course. It’s just — well. Circumstances and... and other things. Interfering. 

He can’t read Renji’s expression, which is probably just as much a product of the slim amount of time they’ve spent together in the last thirty years as it is his own anxiety. Since the host has already taken their orders and their menus, the only thing between zhim and Izuru is a scrap of calligraphy. Izuru can still see the tiny pinholes where he’d stuck it to Renji’s door and winces slightly.

Last) Origami is such fun, I used to be such trash for Renzuru back in the day. My current hobbies are fiddling in my Notion Workspace & Tai Chi Martial Arts. I forgot to mention this in the last part, but you said you were in health care! Were you able to get vaccinated? Was your workplace impacted by the current situation? (I work part-time at a physical therapy & rehab clinic and they've taken a huge blow so...)

what do they do when they’re away from each other?: renji snapchats izuru a lot and is like, why didnt u respond to my snapchats. meanwhile he doesnt text izuru back but izuru’s texts are just like. “i saw a garden gnome that looks like the head captain.” and renji’s like, “u couldnt fucking snapchat that to me”

what would they do if the other one was hurt?: they both get anxious and Will Hover but izuru’s is very internalized and renji’s is externalized so he looks kinda angry about it. which he probably also is. unohana probably has to like, physically remove them from the uhh the shinigami hospital

who made the first move?: uhh izuru kissed first but i guess renji was the one who first suggested going out for a date meal™ or something but they probably just end up making out on the couch and by the time they finally leave the house the only place thats open is like, taco bell. idk if this answers the question or not
