Final Fantasy 7 prompts # 34

1. Sephiroth makes Cloud have a full on mental breakdown and now he feels bad. On the other hand the blond is crying into his chest, and he's really not sure what to make of that.

2. Cloud Strife: King of the Chocobos

Yuffie wouldn't stop calling him that, particularly on the account that they were being followed be no less that nine chocobos. It doesn't help that it's mating season. Yuffie keeps telling him to flirt with them to get a free ride.

3. AVALANCHE giving Nanaki a bath, which somehow induces a water war

4. Protective Cloud looking out for Tifa. He somehow gets pulled into the "Bouncer" role

5. Vincent scaring off one of Clouds many stalkers (of which, Cloud is oblivious)

6. Tifa's wolf ring can call to/ summon Cloud in cases of emergencies via the wolf emblem on his pauldron. Kinda like a summon materia

7. I'm in love with the Commander Strife thing where he joins Shinra post time travel shenanigans and fixed everything.

So:

A. Commander Strife being babied by Genesis

B. Commander Strife becoming Zack and Clouds pseudo big brother

C. Sephiroth, Genesis, Angeal, Zack and Cloud try, and fail, to find out Commander Strifes first name.

D. Commander Strife babying the Infantrymen and looking out for them since few people in the company actually care about them.

E. Sephiroth and Commander Strife exploring the bond through the J-cells

F. Commander Strife is given a soft light blue sweater, "so he doesn't have to wear his uniform at the mall again"

G. Kunsel is obsessed with discovering Commander Strifes backstory. He has the corkboard with pictures and string and everything!

H. "Bold of you to assume I know what I'm doing." - Commander Strife

I. Someone vandalized six large walls within Shinras training facilities. Six whole beautiful and highly detailed paintings, each portraying one of the Commanders and one of the General. The last one was all of them together, standing side by side with thier swords at the ready.

The five people in question were so flattered that the investigation was halted and the paintings remained. The perpetrator(s?) was never caught.

J. Cadet Cloud sending home a picture of him and Commander Strife together, to his mom.

She couldn't help but laugh at the goofy faces they were making.

K. Commander Fair cackling madly as he sprinted down the corridors carrying a blushing Commander Strife while being chased by an enraged cake covered Reno.

....the troops decided that they saw nothing.

L. A picture at a holiday party with the four Commanders and the General, all with hot chocolate in hand and wearing a whipped cream mustache

M. Commander Strife just hands Zack a whistle and walks away.

Curious, Commander Fair blows the whistle, and is immediately swarmed by dogs.

N. Genesis drags Strife out on a spa day

O. The Commanders were all in a room when Zack started asking hypothetical questions about thigh high socks and stuff.

He questions how they keep them from sliding down.

Strife answers the question without thinking, and grumbled about how uncomfortable sagging thigh highs were.

He quickly realizes what the man wants when the guy demands a DNA test...after all, the science department has been practically foaming at the mouth, wanting a sample of his DNA.

S. Sephiroth never gave up on figuring out what the mysterious blonde was hiding. He becomes even more invested in his investigation when he hears him mention the Wutai princess by her first name. Suspicious.

T. While he was on the run with AVALANCHE, Strife had always slept with his group. Being the way he was he unconsciously sought out things that were both soft and firm to use as a pillow, which often lead him to sleeping on his team mates.

He wake with his head resting on Vincents chest, Barrets arm or Tifas abs and always, always, always, they would wake him gently by running thier fingers through his hair.

He missed them so much.

11. Clouds mom goes back in time and takes her 13 year old son by the hand and, armed with only a few materia, marched into the ShinRa mansion and went strait to Vincent.

She gives the wide eyed Turk the tounge lashing of a lifetime. She becomes enraged however, after the former ShinRa spy gives her some flimsy excuse and slams his coffin closed. Long story short, she drags the man out by his cloak with her son close behind, fiddling with his small sword and glaring at the man as if daring him to do anything to his Ma.

Valentine is baffled.

12. Reno makes the wrong move and Cloud finally snaps, telling him exactly where he can shove his rod

13. Cloud is just so tired of being grossly hit on and sexually harassed. He starts coming up with one liners/ insults /refrances to combat the crude remarks.

Example:

Woman: How big is your ****?

Cloud: *said in the tone of those tootsiepop commercials* The world may never know.

14. Tifa gets turned into a frog, but doesn't turn back. Even when using maidens kisses and ensuna she remained an amphibian.

Aerith convinces Cloud to kiss Tifa, which he does, shyly on the cheek. She poofs back to her normal self and they both blush while the flower girl giggles.

No one even suspected that it was her doing.

15. Sephiroth revives and meets Cloud and Tifa's kids, who took one look at him and decided to latch onto his legs and demand his attention.

They also boldly declared him to be thier uncle/ the moon God, and tell him all about thier wierd family.

They told Sephiroth that he'd fit right in with AVALANCHE, to which he genuinely laughed at the irony of the situation.

Well

Welp, feeling like doing an update because there's been a lot going on to be honest. its one of those weird dichotomies where every day feels like an eternity and there's so much going on and then you look back and you're like oh, ok its just my brain making it difficult and making things take forever but anyway.

LOCKDOOOOOOOWWWWWWNNNNNNN

Lockdown life was good, apart from being thrust into it so suddenly dave left a banana on his desk. Wasn't great to come back to after 5 weeks out of the office - mummified mouldy banana!! Classic. We luckily got our first jab before lockdown started so that was good, and we were reasonably well stocked up on food and were generally a lot healthier this lockdown that last. honestly, there's a level of chill and serenity in lockdown that i just love. the ability to set my own schedule and only work the hours I actually work to get the job done? Amazing. getting 8.5 hours of sleep each night without having to wake to an alarm blaring? AMAZING. getting to go for walks every afternoon? SO FLIPPING GOOD. I love it so much, I really really do. I need this to be my life permanently.

WORK

Work is just ongoing and draining and honestly, coming back to the office was so fucking stressful and it was only one day. Being at home is just the fucking bomb. Pending home decisions, I wanna go contracting I think, but also ideally two part time contracts to have more flexibility? I dunno. You'd think a big 4 would provide variety but it really doesn't and honestly, with Richie leaving, wellington is just a sinking ship. Sean's off on parental leave, Kirstyn is down to four days a week, ben will be gone if he doesn't get promoted (and I don't think he will be tbh). Jack is just muddling along, Nigel wants to swap to consulting as well, Matt's going to be a shit leader in terms of bringing in work so it's just not going to work. and in our wider group it's going to get even more messy with heaps of the analysts leaving and a couple of senior hires too. so I think it's probably time to jump ship in general, pending the home stuff below. Also, coming back after a break again, I'm like, I don't actually like a lot of you? All the people I enjoy here are in other teams and groups, and I'll be sad to leave you all, but like, not enough to stay anyway lol.

Pending the home below, two options are to just going and get a job with a $30k payrise to make up for the maternity leave benefits I'm gunna leave behind when I leave this role - 18 weeks full pay, $100 a week for the first year back and a full year of maternity leave. It's basically 30k post tax which is a bit nuts to walk away from to be honest.

Otherwise the other option is to go contracting. Less security overall but holy shit so much money. If I went in as a project coordinator at the lowest rate to build up a bit of a portfolio I'd need to work 40 weeks of 40 hr weeks and Id basically match my current salary plus the lost family leave benefits and still qualify for govt maternity leave payments. Realistically I could go in as a project manager for $140 an hour ($60 more an hour than the above math) and absolutely smash it at that level as well so ya know, there's a bunch of other info. I like the idea of the flexibility of it and only having 6 months even if its a shitshow and beign able to walk away at the end of it. I really don't want to get a govt job and this is a v govt town which is fine but also, if I can avoid it that would be great. I just know I'm not gunna thrive in that environment.

Need to talk to Dave to get him across the line on the security issue part of that though. I've mostly come a long way in terms of my financial management (thanks YNAB) so I think he'd be ok with it mostly.

So there's a lot to toss up there because......

HOME

We got the reno plans done during lockdown, finally. which was super good. but holy fkn jesus $$$$$$ ++++++++++. The guy is coming around for the final quote on Thursday. We indicatively said $100k total because we're doing kitchen laundry bathroom and toilet. so only the most expensive rooms and when I was talking to him last week he said 'that might cover it' and they're seeing cost escalations of 7-10% a week which is just insane. we're not doing anything structural apart from putting in a cavity slider in the bathroom, and the quote they'll give us won't include flooring since they won't do it.

Meanwhile, the prefab homes I were looking at for our site were $425k fully done. Like, I'm not going to spend $130K on doing up my 1940s ex state house ya know? That's not good cost benefit ratio.

So depending on what that comes out at on thursday we'll be able to make some plans.

We also want to start trying for kids next year and need these renos done first - I am not having kids and no dishwasher lol.

Also we need bank financing so good to be in a permanent stable job for that application. the good thing is we have so much equity we know we can borrow whatever we need, I just don't want to spend that much money on it because it's fkn ridiculous. and if I'm going on maternity leave we need to be able to cover it all on dave's salary and whatever benefits I have as well so there;s a lot of financial planning and spreadsheeting going on at the moment lol. it's fab.

either way. we've got plenty of options up our sleeve. we've got friends who's brother owns a building company so we can talk to them, we've got the garage so we can get things prefabricated even if they're not installed til next year, Dave can get shit at cost through his work for whiteware, there;s plenty of things to like cost control we can do, we just need to know where we're starting from basically. thats the challenging part. but we'll figure it out, its just taking longer than I want it to basically.

We also planted up the vege garden for the spring/summer which was lovely, super jazzed about that. we've finally got the garden to a reasonably low maintenance level where everything is mostly under control and it's such a relief, honestly.

PERSONAL

Man what a shift to lockdown last year honestly. I think the last 8 weeks in particular has just been like, a massive reality check of how absolutely shit the last year was and how fucking glad I am to be rid of it. I spent a week absolutely spiralling 2 weeks ago now and honestly, I don't know how I lived in the state for more than a year. I actually don't know how I did it. and I could not be more glad that I'm finally on the other side of it, for the most part. There's still a bunch of other stuff to work through (hahahahahaha when is there not like damn) but fucking hell its nice to just not be anxious and nauseous and wound up constantly. life is actually accessible. miracle.

My workmate had his bebe - I went round and got newborn cuddles and was like, oh, is this what it is to be clucky? this is odd. so there's that as well. I think we'll probably start trying next year pending renos and jobs etc. If the renos can be done in jan I'll prob just stick it at the job to get the benefits but I dunno. it's a tough call to make really. we shall see. This all assumes we get knocked up without any issues which is questionable these days. I really want to feel healthier before getting pregnant as well, and part of that is losing weight. however, given discussing that is what triggered the spiral we're working on that one slowly.

Also, lets have a moment for counselling, because fkn bless anne and all her hard work honestly. I actually ended up emailing her being like, I;m losing my shit on the monday and then talked to her on thursday. And its so funny because it's such a counselling thing but I didn't realise until afterwards what she'd done but she was like you're clearly not doing well and then the night before dave got a fkn miserable migraine and he was up for like, 2 hrs powerchucking except he didn't make it to the bathroom in time so guess who was cleaning up vomit at 130am trying not to chuck herself but I digress. anyway, not doing well, couldn't even explain why, didn't even have words and super tired and she's like, what lynaire up to this week how's she going with izzy and chat about that and then be like how are you feeling about your body and then 5 more mins of chat about the cat and the chickens and then like bam hard question and then hows it going with x and y and z and its like, it wasn't til I was on my walk afterwards when I FINALLY started feeling marginally better I was like damn woman work your magic for figuring it out for me and helping me reregulate. all over the phone as well since we were still in lockdown. GREAT WORK FRIEND.

and then last week was like totally fucked theoretical discussion about religion and the role it's played in my life and fate vs free will and all this nutty shit but genuinely just a great discussion. She's the best and I love her. thank good for good counsellors. thank god I can afford to pay for it honestly.

Dave and I are just chugging along, god bless that man. I love him. its amazing. I miss having friends close by but understand why they had to move (boooooo f u house prices). Family is pretty chill, still not really talking to dave's parents which is nightmarish but we'll deal with that when we need to. gunna have to go and visit them at some point coz dave misses them and I feel for him, I really do. It's the whole boundaries renegotiation I went through with my family last year post wedding blow up and its just not a fun place to be. oh well. can't fix it for him but also I'm not putting up with that level of BS from either of our families once we have children. not gunna happen.

Either way, life is busy and full and fun and I'm enjoying it. Daylight savings starts this weekend too, its october next week WTF and I'm just waiting for 4pm to find out what's gunna happen to our girls trip. Clearly we cancelled our sept trip to christchurch and akaroa and hanmer springs so my covid travel curse continues. fkn ridic. Still dunno what we're gunna do with $2500 of flight credits coz if we get knocked up theres def no international trips happening any time soon.

Tak więc ten drugi system tuneli przebiega przez całą drogę w pierścieniu wokół Australii z dużą centralną linią biegnącą w kierunku Ayers Rock. How Fictional Characters Can Act As Your Teachers & Guides

Some years ago I stumbled across a post of a young man, who had trained to be like Goku from Dragon Ball Z. He said he had wanted to be as strong and yet as gentle and kind as Goku was - and that’s what he became. That’s how he lived his life. I tried to find that post again, but instead found WikiHow for “How to Be Pure Hearted Like Goku”.

That young man’s journey was very close to my heart, as for me fictional characters also act as guides, teachers and messengers between me and My Inner Self (or The Spirit). I believe it is not a coincidence what it comes to relating certain characters; like matches like, but also “Come here”-vibes match the empty spot where such matches are needed.

I was a huge, huge fan of Sephiroth when I was 13 back in 1997 when Final Fantasy VII came out (who wasn’t). I was complete opposite of Sephiroth and couldn’t understand why this character spoke to me the most. Now, as an adult, I can understand that my life was pretty much hellish back then. Sephiroth was strong, powerful, elite, admired. Everything that I wasn’t. He helped me to go through those hard times reminding that I needed to find my own power and strength so that I could keep going on.

When I was 24 I really, really liked Fullmetal Alchemist. One day, I stopped to ponder why I kept having Ed at the back of my mind. Like 24/7 he was there. Why? I knew there had to be a reason for it.

Turned out we both were looking for something which shouldn’t exist and which would be super hard to find, but we had to keep going and just trust we could make it. He made it, and I made it with my own challenge - thanks to him telling me I should be as stubborn as he was!

Your favorite character can be someone who

you can relate to because you have gone through similar past, challenge or trauma

embodies the traits and mindset you are here to learn to take into use, too

has same characteristics as you do (and perhaps learns to control them or accept them)

has same challenges with accepting who they are as you do

shares your values in life

shares your world view with you

has same challenges or problems as you do

has same dreams and hopes as you do

is on a same spot with their life as you are

is showing you how things are and where you should concentrate your attention to

is showing you your next step

is helping you to come in terms with something

has same kind of relationship issues as you do

has same fears and worries as you do

and so on and so on and so on!

Sometimes you can immediately tell what the character is trying to tell you. Sometimes you have to really think it hard and analyze the character and yourself to find what’s the message. The message doesn’t need to be really big. It can be anything really, but it is always something which supports and helps you.

I write down here a few of my own favorite characters and what they are teaching me or guiding me to concentrate on when they pop into my mind or into my dreams

Dragunov (Tekken): Survival in the face of anything. Keep your calm and do not react to anything with anything else except ice cold calmness.Things aren’t as bad as you feel and you will survive.

Reno (Final Fantasy VII): It doesn’t matter how you look like, as long as you do your work well and act professionally. You can be your own self and still advance far in your life and career (he is strongly work oriented character to me)

Axel (Kingdom Hearts): Deep, sad loneliness. Need to reach out for people or otherwise you will slip too deep into sadness. Not fitting in, rebelling against norms and destroying them, even if it destroys part of your life at the same time.

Junkrat: Time for fun and play! You have been too gloomy for too long, and worried things so much you have forgot to have fun. Take it easy!

Vol’jin: Leadership. Master your own self but remember there will be people who look up to you. A good leader always acts with kindness and firmness, and is never unfair. Take example of Vol’jin and try to live like him (but do not die).

Dante (Devil May Cry): In-Between-Time. You are not in the old anymore but you cant go in the future and new yet either. Another foot in the past and another one in the future. Just wait and you will eventually transition to the new time.

Angor Rot: Surviving shit, abuse from others and trauma. Not really fitting in anymore because of your past. A kind heart under the hard to reach interior, reserved only for those he cares for. Wanting to do the right thing even if it causes you to hurt, to be aware that you do not stretch yourself too far for others. Nightcrawler (X-Men): God/Spirit is speaking, listen. Concentrate more on spiritual side.

(I have mostly male characters I relate to, because I’m INTJ female and INTJ females are very rare in fictional world. Ellen Ripley comes to my mind the first.)

2. STRANGE FACT ABOUT YOURSELF : i was born with a weird disability called septo - optic dysplasia ! i’m visually impaired with low vision & no peripheral sight as well as no sense of smell .

3. TOP THREE PHYSICAL THINGS YOU FIND ATTRACTIVE ON A PERSON : bc of my bad vision i don’t rly pay much attention to physical attributes , but if i had to choose : hairstyle / colour , height , and ... idk what else SDFGSYUDF , face shape maybe ?

4. A FOOD YOU COULD EAT FOREVER AND NOT GET BORED OF : teriyaki chicken donburi !

5. A FOOD YOU HATE : mushrooms , which sucks bc i used to like em but my ma gave me buttered mushrooms once and just the thought makes me gag SDYFUGSUYDF .

6. GUILTY PLEASURE : i guess some franchises that’re looked down upon ? like esp mlp , i feel like everyone will assume i’m a creep for watching it bc i’m a guy so i don’t like to mention it much but i just think it’s cute and the art style is amazing .

WHAT DO YOU SLEEP IN : ok so i shit u not i have a sleeping bag on top of my bed . i have a single size bed and i move around so much in my sleep that the sheets always ended up on the floor so eventually i just went fuck it and used a sleeping bag . i plan on stopping when i get a bigger sized bed bc the sheets will actually fuckin fit .

8. SERIOUS RELATIONSHIPS OR FLINGS : i’d like to say both but i don’t think i have the heart for flings , i would love to be more free with exploring tho bc my sexuality is still a big question mark .

9. IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN THE PAST AND CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOUR LIFE , WOULD YOU AND WHAT WOULD IT BE : to stop being so dependent on my mother due to my lack of eyesight , learning independence is tough after being overprotected and i feel like i’m behind as an adult as a whole .

10. ARE YOU AN AFFECTIONATE PERSON : yes ! but i’m also very bad at keeping in touch LMAO .

11. A MOVIE YOU COULD WATCH OVER AND OVER AGAIN : final fantasy vii advent children , dragon ball z battle of gods , disney’s moana .

12. FAVORITE BOOK : i don’t rly read but i wanna pick up the harry potter series one day !

13. YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KEEP ANY ANIMAL AS A PET, WHAT DO YOU CHOOSE : an alpaca bc they’re my favourite but i also rly want a dog !

TOP FIVE FICTIONAL SHIPS ( IF YOU ARE AN RP BLOG , YOU CAN USE YOUR OWN SHIPS AS WELL ) : cloud / zack is my favourite ship Ever even outside of this blog , but to stay on the cloud train ... cloud / aerith is probably my second biggest ship love the idea of cloud / barret being a very very slow burn , just two dads holdin hands i will admit cloud / reno also sounds fun to explore i’m kh trash and could literally ship him with any of the kh main groups adults if u allowed me to i feel like this is an extremely unpopular opinion but i like exploring ideas of a toxic cloud / sephiroth ship bc rly how can i say no to pure unfiltered Pain with the manipulation and the ‘ good boy ’ calling and the whole ‘ on your knees , i want you to beg for forgiveness ’ line was Too Much Fuel to the problematic fire .

24. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS : help my parents move into homes of their own then move country and get myself comfortable , likely blow a shit ton on games and merch bc i’m terrible with money , try to set up an online merch store since i could afford packing and shipping .
