Alienware PC Monique Hacked Computer
Happy 20th Birthday, Sims 2!!!
To celebrate this glorious day, I have turned the Alienware's "Everything but the Saucer" Gaming PC into a Monique's Hacked Computer.
Now if you are a dork like me, you really appreciate the animations in this game. The Alienware computer has some cool animations when it comes to playing games.
I am a newbie when it comes to modding, but I managed to keep the original animations!
Also the Alienware computer had some TRCNs so the BCONs have some labels that other modders may find useful for tuning computers.
Recently, Gummilutt updated the Monique computers' shop menu to be more dynamic so I used their version when modding the Alienware computer.
Also I recommend looking at this post from Renfree, they compiled a very nice list of computers that have been updated to Monique's Hacked Computers.
If you would like an updated Alienware computer that is updated for AL and is Monique Hacked, Download it from Simfileshare.
I want to say thank you to Gummilutt and Monique for making the code. This was a very interesting experience and I look forward to learning more about SimAntics.

Hi, Epi! I really like your Improved Biotech Station mod. But I would like to change some functions and I don't know how. Could you please guide me what I have to adjust in SimPE? I would like to return the original effectiveness of medicine and the possibility of contracting the disease while making medicines. Thanks!
Hi, renfree! Uh I'm sorry but I don't have a simple answer for this. It requires rewriting the code from several BHAVs.
By the 'original effectiveness of medicine', I take you mean simler90's version? The original Maxis code for medicine is broken and doesn't do much, but I think simler90 kept the formula that Maxis intended to use (there's also a fix by Pescado, I haven't compared the two so idk if they do the same thing).
In any case: the BHAVs you'd need to edit are Interaction - Take Medicine/Virus, Interaction - Take Medicine (for how the medicine works when taken), Make Medicine - Determine Results (for setting the medicine's effectiveness), Interaction - Make Medicine, and Interaction - Make Medicine In Bulk (for making it possible to catch the disease).
You could maybe compare these to simler90's version to see how the code differs, for catching the disease you could check how it's done for the virus in my mod. I can try to answer if you have more questions.
#ask me anything#renfree#sorry again that this answer is useless#the station is by far the most complex mod i've ever done

acknowledgements
Surprisingly, it's been harder to write acknowledgements than to have written all this simfiction HAHAHA. Where to start?
I'm happy. I'm very very happy, because not only did I have the opportunity to write about something I love, but because over the course of these three years I have shared with a lot of people aaall over the world, and it has been a rewarding experience in every way. Yes, it wasn't the best novel in the world, but as I mentioned before, I was draining myself of energy as time went on, getting my college degree, starting to work and all that.
If you've been following me for a while, and I know many of you have, you'll know that this started just because I finally had a little bit of time during the pandemic to sit down and get things done. It's been three years since then and damn, it's taken me a hell of a lot longer than expected to finish. Anyway, I'm glad I set out to get it done even though I wanted to give up halfway through, because 1. I like to deliver 2. I owed it to myself. Next year I'm going to be 20 years playing The Sims, and how until then had I not been able to create a silly little story about my favorite video game characters?
One of my missions while writing everything was to be able to maintain some of the gameplay while setting up scenes and editing in Photoshop. Could it have been better? Yes, I'm sure it could. But I also know that I had as much fun as I could have had doing it all.
Simblr is such a wonderful community. I am fascinated to be able to share something I am so passionate about with you. It is a privilege for me that my posts have reached so many people. Who would have thought we were all so invested in the Goths and old, boring Pleasantview.
To wrap things up, I'm gifting you my "Pleasant Valley" so you can read it from the beginning. It's yours. It's ours.
And with the risk of forgetting some people, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart:
and also guallarauco, Piperamitt, tamagniis, da3stars, aheavenscorner, Strangetownfan21, and spookythings as well as the 20 guests that left kudos on AO3. Your support, your likes, your reblogs were FUNDAMENTAL for me to keep writing.

You recommend any mods that update computers and cell phones to have the features of later games?
I'm not aware of any that specifically try to add features from other Sims games. @jellymeduza has a smartphone mod and they edited a few other mods to work with it. The full pack would let you use the cell phone as an mp3 player and handheld game, use it to work out, flirt text, and browse to gain fun and social
@midgethetree has a More Computer Options mod that lets you write articles, do crosswords, and pay for matchmaking
Then there's the famous Monique Hacked Computer, @renfree made a post with all the details. It has links to various computers made to work with the Monique system. This has been one of my essential Sims 2 objects ever since it first came out

Hello. As promised I am testing one of the laptop from an other conversion set from you even though I don't possess the Monique hack files, it works like a charm. That's great ! I didn't know about this computer hack but it doesn't seem to break the native functions of the maxis' computers, I hope they are alright for the ultimate collection (I got the osab's version) and we could find somebody who can translate it into other languages than English it would be great. I understand it fortunately but that's always seems messy to get multilanguage mods in a game.
Happy New Year Eve day, and many thank you for converting great objects really, you make our sims 2 better.
hey, the computer may appear to work, but it needs the global files from the original, updated hacked computer to actually have all of its functions available. also, the monique hacked computer functions are completely standalone; they will never modify the computers from the actual game!
in any case, the hacked computer mine is cloned from requires apartment life, which of course is included with the ultimate collection that osab's download is. so it will work for that version of the game and higher.
if you'd like, @renfree made a guide on how monique's hacked computer works and what it is. i also found this modthesims guide on how to translate mods yourself.
happy new year, and thanks for the support!

Hi! Thank you for your mods so much! But your last mod "Squinge’s Spy on Neighbors Trait Patch" conflicts with simler90's "Telescope Mod - Random Neighbours" I use. Can you check please if this is a serious conflict and if it can be fixed?
Hi @renfree! Thank you for letting me know of this conflict. I'm looking into it now, and it does appear that Squinge's mod does change some things within the TEST file, which could inadvertently make the mod not work with other mods, like Simler's. Squinge’s mod itself most likely conflicts with Simler’s. I'll work on a different patch for those who wish to not have Squinge's mod in their games.

Update! Fixed an error that happened when an older sim gave medicine to a child. Also made it so that virus can't be given to children anymore, I decided it was just creepy. Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the pop-up message to claim that the sim was healthy when they weren't, this happened under certain circumstances if the sim had multiple diseases before taking the medicine.
Please re-download! Many thanks to @renfree for both reporting and testing :)
Improved Biotech Station
This project started as an edit of simler90's Biotech Station mod but I ended up changing, fixing, and adding so much stuff that I feel comfortable calling this its own thing completely.
This mod improves the existing Biotech Station mechanisms, adds some interactions it lacked, makes medicine more useful, polishes virus crafting, and replaces medicine and virus vials with pill bottles that are sensible to sell at owned businesses.
Plenty of details and the download link under the cut.
Make medicine. Worry not, it can't cause catching the mysterious disease anymore. Medicine can be made by teens or older sims with at least 3 logic. Children and sims with less than 3 logic can make it if someone who meets the requirements is teaching them.
Medicine can be taken by sick sims teen or older, given to a sick sim (children included) by another sim, sold instantly, or sold at an owned business. It comes in two types:
Moderate medicine (light blue bottle) sells for §100. It instantly cures food poisoning and a cold, and is a pretty efficient treatment for the flu as well, although some additional rest might still be needed. Several bottles of it are needed to cure pneumonia.
Strong medicine (dark blue bottle) sells for §300. It instantly cures any disease except the mysterious one and is usually pretty efficient against that too.
Which medicine you get from crafting depends on your sim's logic skill, mood, hygiene level, and pure luck. Getting the strong version is rare even with high logic. I also added the possibility to make medicine in bulk. When made so, the bottles go directly into the sim's (or the business lot owner's) inventory. Failed attempts add there an empty bottle worth §0.
The relationship between sims is checked when giving medicine to someone. Basically sims won't accept medicine from total strangers or someone they don't like. If the sim refuses the offered medicine, it will cause a hit on their relationship, while accepting boosts it.
Make virus. Teens or older sims with at least 8 logic can also make virus, but they'll risk catching the mysterious disease by doing so. Virus can be utilized in the same ways as medicine but doesn't require the sim taking it to be sick. There are two types:
Moderate virus (light green bottle) sells for §200. It randomly infects either food poisoning, a cold, or the flu.
Strong virus (dark green bottle) sells for §400. It infects the mysterious disease.
Which one you'll get follows the same logic as with medicine. You can make virus in bulk as well. The virus made with Biotech Station uses its own code for infecting sims so even those usually immune to diseases will get ill from directly consuming it.
When giving virus to someone, it requires a good relationship with the giver for the sim to accept. The interaction will cause a hit on their relationship no matter what the outcome is.
Practice. Children or older sims can use Biotech Station for building logic without crafting anything. Since the unmodded skilling with it was super cheaty, I toned it down so that it's now only slightly faster than with non-reward objects. The object still also grants science enthusiasm (these apply to making medicide/virus as well).
If you read all the way to here, congrats! *passes out from explaining*
Download (SFS) (alternate)
The file is compressed. OFB is definitely required but the mod has only been tested with all the EPs. If you experience any problems with the mod, please let me know! It's pretty complex so it's very possible that we missed something.
Additional recommended mods: simler90's grandma's comfort soup mod stops the soup from insta-curing and makes getting medicine instead a lot more alluring. I also recommend using either my edit of simler90's disease mod or their version of it (from the link above) for sims to be able to get pneumonia.
The buyable career rewards can be found here.
Updates:
3.3.2023 fixed an error that occurred when giving medicine to a child. Changed it so that virus can't be given to children anymore. Fixed an issue with the pop-up messages, now they show correctly if the sim is healthy or not even when the sim has multiple diseases before taking medicine.
6.8.2022 added Brazilian Portuguese and Hungarian translations.
3.8.2022 added Polish, Spanish, and Finnish translations and ensured that UK English always uses the correct text strings. Toned down the skilling speed some more.
Full credit to simler90 for their Biotech Station mod that I used as a base. Additional credit to Nixy for the pill bottle.
Special thanks to @jellymeduza for sending me the earlier version of simler90's mod and to @deedee-sims for all the cheering and help with the testing!

Country & Southern Pop Songstress Brei Carter Announces Debut Holiday EP, Twinkling Tales Of Christmas, Due Out Nov. 10
Crossover country and southern pop recording artist, and U.S. Army veteran Brei Carter just can’t wait to usher in the holiday season with her new seven song debut Christmas EP, Twinkling Tales of Christmas, due out November 24 by Brown Lee Entertainment. Known for having a festive and vivacious personality year round, Carter’s new EP is a multi-faceted genre hopping collection of originals which draws upon her established country, southern pop, soul and R&B musical influences. Twinkling Tales of Christmas presents a sonic journey through the festive season, taking its listener through a range of emotions and paying homage to the warmth, joy, and shared experiences that define that special time of year. The new EP is anchored by the festive, “Santa Wontcha” which she released as a single in Christmas of 2022, and is set to relaunch the song’s music video this November. Carter co-wrote “Santa Woncha” with Nashville hit songwriter Corey Lee Barker. Barker also has writing credits on the other tracks along with songwriting standouts Lucas Hoge and Ava Paige. “There’s just something magical about the Christmas season,” Carter said with a smile. “With the sparkling and fascinating Christmas lights, the love dancing in the air, and moments of sharing, caring, or giving, I just live for it all. These precious gestures create unforgettable joy-filled memories that warm our hearts throughout the year, and I hope my first collection of Christmas originals does the same for my listener. ” EP name: Twinkling Tales Of Christmas Release date: Nov. 10, 2023 Audio produced by: Jason Wyatt Pre-save/Stream/Buy: orcd.co/breicartertwinklingtalesofchristmas Official video: “Santa Woncha” Track Listing & Songwriters - “50 Shades of Christmas” (Liz Moriondo, Corey Lee Barker) - “Bow On You” (Andi Renfree, Ava Paige, Corey Lee Barker) - “Christmas Is You” (Liz Moriondo, Lucas Hoge, Corey Lee Barker) - “Laid Back Christmas” (Randy Barnette, Gabriella Metz, Corey Lee Barker) - “Old Fashioned Christmas” (Aly Cutter, David Norris, Corey Lee Barker) - “Santa Woncha” (Brei Carter, Corey Lee Barker, Jason Wyatt) - “Welcome To Wonderland” (Brei Carter, Corey Lee Barker) About Brei Carter: Emerging crossover country and southern pop recording artist Brei Carter is proof that sometimes faith, patience and time pays off. Growing up in Monroe, Louisiana with a solid, southern upbringing, Brei’s family raised her on several authentic southern staples: the Bible, Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church’s choir, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn, Aretha Franklin, and no shortage of familial love and devotion. However, before she became the dynamic and vivacious country singer she is today, Brei was busy earning a Bachelors in Business from University of Louisiana in Monroe, a Masters in International Relations from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Theology from New Foundation Theological Seminary. She is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, where she served as an enlisted soldier and as an officer. Having moved to Nashville soon thereafter, Brei has quickly established herself in the songwriters community as a smooth and sometimes edgy songstress who melds country, soul and southern pop into one fused style. Her first single at country radio “Gave Him A Girl” was immediately recognized as “cute and catchy” by country music journalist and historian Robert K. Oermann from Music Row Magazine. She’s also been featured by TBN-TV’s Huckabee, RFD-TV, WSMV-TV, WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, Billboard, Guitar Girl Magazine, Nashville.com, St. Louis Magazine, and others. Brei made her CMA Fest debut in 2022, and released her debut album Brand New Country, which included her fan-favorite cover of Charley Pride’s “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin,” and her life’s musical story “Stronger Than That.” In 2023 Brei is currently working on her next new album, and has released her latest original, “Straight Up Country Crazy,” which perfectly showcases her dynamic and jovial personality. Carter has quickly proved to be a welcomed addition to the emerging new styles of country music blossoming in today’s diverse musical landscape. Read the full article
