Hey friend, I need you to please do a pin post with links to all the evidence that shows McLaren are not doing right by Daniel. My dad is saying that he is not a good driver anymore and that he messes up every race and it’s pissing me the fuck off so I need to shut him up with all the evidence. No hate on my dad tho, he just isn’t looking at the big picture, he just watches the races (which usually don’t show Danny very much or his radios) . Thanks 💖
disclaimer: long post and my personal opinions formed from what i’ve seen
wanna start by saying that i definitely do not think daniel is a faultless driver bc everyone can make mistakes but if he was given the right tools he’s going to do wonders i mean have we not seen this man’s career in red bull and how he helped renault develop their car (maybe people who didn’t follow him then won’t understand how great of a driver he is) anyway i’m only doing races this year bc too much war flashbacks if i count last years one
1. bahrain: unreliable car and didn’t suit the track - literally raced at the very back of the grid but persisted where he was able to overtake a few cars (incl. his teammate) hence ended up in p14
2. jeddah: dnf - daniel’s pace was great at this race but ofc his engine failed forcing him to retire in the middle of the track
Tumblr media
3. melbourne: best weekend so far. he had good pace and was trailing behind lando in which i found unfair where the team didn’t allow them to switch over to see daniel’s pace in clean air and if he can pass the mercs. it’s annoying to watch when lando is behind daniel they always ask them to swap to see lando’s pace (ie. imola and zanvoort where he didn’t catch the alpine 2021) i understand if daniel didn’t catch the mercs then they can swap back but they didn’t even let him try at all.
Tumblr media
4. imola: his engineer stuffing him up when he could’ve potentially improved his time: https://ef-1.tumblr.com/post/682252081211506688/daniel-is-the-only-driver-who-got-1-lap-and-still during qualifying. then water leak in fp2 so he didn’t get any track time at all but still managed to stick with his p6 during sprint.
Tumblr media
i understand that the race itself was partly his fault touching carlos but ofc a racing incident. daniel has always been one of the few drivers who barely causes crashes and admits his mistakes if so. this lead him to being at the back of the grid the entire race with a damaged diffuser where i found it stupid when the team still let him stay out. they wanted to collect data like wtf they’re not even thinking how fustrating it is being out there while your pace keep dropping
Tumblr media
5. miami: showed great pace but again had mechanical issues they found just before going out and had to use all energy and tyre life during q2 and didnt manage the right tyre temperature so couldn’t improve lap time
Tumblr media
then during the race daniel managed his medium tyres well and was at p8 then they pitted him just to be stuck in a drs train at p17
———
his engineer is also very incompetent and doesn’t do his job properly. there’s been many times he’s put daniel in danger (just like in miami where he got reprimanded for impeding mick when he wasn’t told instructions esp the track is so tight he couldn’t see well in his mirrors) here’s a few more radios

The Greatest of All Time - Imola Grand Prix review
It’s Christmas in 2004, and Maranello is a happy place. Ferrari has just crushed their opposition, winning 15 of the 18 races to claim a sixth consecutive constructors’ championship. And it wasn’t just another title: this was one of their most dominant, the F2004 a car so quick that in their first test at their private track in Fiorano they thought something was wrong with the track sensors. This hadn’t quite been the same level of dominance as 2002, when they scored as many points as all the other teams combined, but was pretty close.
Going into the next season, everyone expected Ferrari would be fending off challengers but staying on top. Just as in 2003, the competitors should be closing the gap a bit, but the Scuderia should remain the team to beat. Such was the quality of the 2004 car that the team led by Ross Brawn decided to evolve the car to adapt to the regulations tweaks of 2005, rather than work on an entirely new design.
But as the cars hit the track in Melbourne, it became clear the competition had more than caught up. The 2005 car was only supposed to make his debut in round 5 in Barcelona, but given the poor results in the first two races, its debut was brought forward to round 3 in Bahrain. It didn’t matter: plagued with aerodynamics issues, a gearbox too big and Bridgestone tyres that were losing the performance battle to Michelin, the F2005 won a single race, and only because all the teams using Michelin refused to race in the now infamous US GP, due to safety concerns.
At the time, it seemed impossible such a downturn in fortune could happen. The all-conquering Ferrari, the first team ever to win 6 championships in a row, had fallen off a cliff, finishing a distant third in the standings. No one had seen that coming, least of all those running the team itself.
What does this have to do with this weekend’s race? Obviously, everything. As expected since pretty much the first round of the season, Mercedes has just confirmed their seventh consecutive world title with four races to spare, beating Ferrari’s record, while reaching performance levels similar to those 2002 and 2004 titles. Just like Ferrari, they are at their peak, but the difference is that they show no signs of slowing down or becoming the c-word: complacent.
Ferrari’s 2005 season is a cautionary tale for any team dominating their sport: don’t take anything for granted; this is exactly what Mercedes have always done. Through every regulation change, they have continuously pushed the boundaries on every single level, taking every defeat as a chance to improve, and turning every setback into an opportunity. In what team principal Toto Wolff has described as a relentless drive to perfection, they keep on pushing when most, convinced their superiority would keep them ahead, would have relaxed.
A good example is the improvement made to their engine in this off-season. Clearly beaten by Ferrari in 2019, the team led by Andy Cowell worked to get back on top, not knowing that the only reason the Ferrari engines were so ahead was due to some shenanigans that weren’t entirely legal. The result is that the Mercedes engine took a leap forward in 2020, while Ferrari’s moved backwards, making the increased performance on the back of the Silver Arrows look even more impressive.
There is regular debate among F1 fans about who is the greatest driver of all time; now that Hamilton is beating pretty much every meaningful record, this debate is hotter than ever. But there is less debate about which is the best team, and that is because there are very few arguments left against this incarnation of Mercedes. It’s not just that they make the best car: it’s also that they keep winning even when they don’t have it. There were periods throughout 2017 and 2018 in which Ferrari had the best car on the grid, but due to driver performance or strategy calls, Mercedes would end up winning races that, on paper, it shouldn’t have won.
To me, there is no doubt that this is the best team F1 has ever seen. Through regulation changes, personnel departing and adversaries’ improving, they have kept pushing, onwards and upwards, relentlessly searching those marginal gains, those milliseconds that keep adding up to big advantages. Once this phase is over and someone else is spraying the champagne, we will have the time to really appreciate what they have achieved. But we are not there yet, and their records will keep improving, their chunk of F1 history becoming larger and larger.
Nothing lasts forever, especially if you don’t work hard to keep it going; this is particularly true in F1, where nothing stands still for long: blink, and someone has replaced you on the top step of the podium. That’s what happened at Maranello when preparing that 2005 car. That moment is still to happen to Mercedes, but no one is betting on it happening just yet.
Talking points
•  The rookie class of 2019 has been having a torrid time of late, and if Norris at least got himself on the points after three scoreless races, the weekend was far less kind to his friends. Russell had a first points finish within his grasp when he crashed, in P10, behind the safety car. He will pick himself up and be better for it, but right now it has to hurt. It’s not the first time either, as he lost opportunities at Hockenheim last year and at Mugello. He really needs to take his first points to get this monkey off his back.
Albon, on the other hand, is running out of opportunities to show Red Bull he deserves another year in the senior team. He spun at the restart and ended up at the back of the field, but even before that he was not capable of making a dent in the race. Granted, overtaking at Imola is not easy, but this was another lacklustre weekend from him. Even those like him who hope he does get the nod are finding it hard to come up with reasons why Red Bull should keep him.
•  Could Daniel Ricciardo be wondering if he made the right call in choosing McLaren over Renault? While the papaya team are moving backwards, Renault are improving by leaps and bounds, and this weekend saw him score his second podium in three races. The French team are probably now the favourites to claim third in the championship, which might make him wonder if he should have waited for a few races of 2020 before making this decision.
•  This podium was ultimately thrown away by Racing Point’s decision to pit Perez behind the Safety Car, when the Mexican was running third. To be fair to them, it was a hard call, since they had no way of knowing what those behind them would do. If Perez had been the only one staying out, he would have been vulnerable and would all be criticising the team for not pitting him. In any case, the only reason Checo was in contention anyway was the brilliant strategy to run long on the medium tyres, that had allowed him to leapfrog pretty much the whole midfield.
•  On the other side of the pink garage, Lance Stroll is in dire need of a reset. His Monza podium is looking like a curse, with the Canadian driver scoreless since then. To add injury to a dismal weekend, he even hit a mechanic in his second pit stop.
•  First double-points finish of the season for Alfa Romeo, with a rocket start from Giovinazzi and another steady race from Kimi. Their are winning the battle of the backmarkers, and it will take a miracle for Haas to take P8 from them now.
•  I wrote in my preview about drivers about to drop off the grid for 2021 and hoping they can enjoy and give us some good memories. That was exactly what Kvyat did: as his unlucky teammate was forced to retire from P5, the Russian had a fantastic race, clinging on to the back of Leclerc and Albon’s cars, and then using a fresh set of soft tyres to beat them and Perez at the restart. For a moment it seemed like he could even challenge Ricciardo for the podium, but, as it was, P4 was a brilliant result. Helmut Marko all but confirmed he would lose his seat at the end of the year, but if that is to happen, this is an impressive calling card for his job search.
•  So much talk about track limits, weekend after weekend. To me, this is the simplest of debates: the track limits are the white lines, and if you are going over them, you need to brake earlier. Done. Drivers who want to not have to worry about this should probably be considering moving to IndyCar.
•  McLaren are still in the fight for third in the championship, but not by much. They continue to maximise their results almost every weekend, but this time around they didn’t seem to be able to compete even with AlphaTauri. The development of the car has brought them backwards, and this must be a big concern for Andreas Seidl. With the cars remaining largely the same next year, they need to start making progress on this front sooner rather than later; otherwise, losing P3 in 2020 will be the least of their concerns.
•  Can Esteban Ocon get a lucky break? His return season has been underwhelming, but his luck with reliability has been abismal as well.
•  Oh, and while we are at it, can Vettel get a lucky break? Fantastic race from the German with a broken front end plate, only to be wrecked by a pit stop 11 (eleven!) seconds slower than normal. 2021 can’t come soon enough for him.

Daniel Ricciardo knew 2020 would be different early in the week
Like it or not, Daniel Ricciardo is always the face of the first Grand Prix of the year in Melbourne.
And like it he usually does, the Australian's signature grin even wider than usual as he traverses the 'Melbourne Walk', where the drivers interact with the masses of fans who watch them enter the Albert Park paddock on their way into work each day of the race.
But two days before the opening practice session of the new F1 season, Ricciardo knew 2020 would be different.
As he breezed past the fans and hurried into what he thought was the sanitised sanctuary of the paddock, Ricciardo - and the entire sport - couldn't have imagined just how different.
Ricciardo laughed he "probably broke hearts" when he didn't sign autographs and pose for selfies on Wednesday, the same day a planned Renault sponsor appearance went ahead without the local hero and new teammate Esteban Ocon.
The Grand Prix Drivers' Association, the collective voice of the men behind the wheel, had advised their members to keep a safe distance from others, the threat posed by coronavirus too great.
The following day, Ocon turned up to the track in an elaborate mask and hid behind his sunglasses.
Sebastian Vettel jumped out of his road car and sprinted past waiting fans and camera crews to get inside the Ferrari garage.
Other drivers smiled and waved but didn't break stride. Get inside and stay safe, was the obvious directive.
As it turned out, the paddock was akin to stepping into the eye of the coronavirus storm.
The area behind the pits at Albert Park is like no other on F1's world tour, a thin ribbon of tarmac separating permanent garages from temporary team hospitality buildings, all teams, drivers, mechanics, corporates and media shoehorned into one bustling space.
On a regular Melbourne March afternoon, sun intermittently flickering through trees about to shed their leaves as autumn approaches winter, there are few better places to be for those who've recently escaped a European winter. This week, there were few places worse.
Ricciardo and his travelling companions had a sense of foreboding about the Melbourne event well before its commencement.
The West Australian had made the most of some rare time back in his home country to sneak back to Perth, arriving in Melbourne as late as his outside commitments allowed on the Tuesday evening of race week, looking to make an abnormal weekend as regulation of a Grand Prix as he could.
But it was hard for him not to wonder whether F1 should have been in Melbourne at all, given the threat of coronavirus and the speed at which that threat was escalating. Ricciardo's mood wasn't fearful, but he was understandably wary.
As sporting bodies elsewhere in the world took definitive stands, F1 dithered. Sitting alongside Ricciardo in a pre-event press conference, world champion Lewis Hamilton unloaded on the sport, echoing the thoughts of his peers, none of whom have his profile, few of whom have the same weight attached to their words.
Hours later, as Ricciardo and a pair of mates enjoyed some downtime in a downscale bed-and-breakfast to get away from the usual hotels occupied by traveling F1 folk, the news came through that a McLaren employee had tested positive for coronavirus.
That they learned of the news through a succinct text message from a media member said much. As his phone erupted with messages from fellow drivers, friends and family, the Australian admitted his "head was spinning".
Ricciardo said he was "devastated" at the cancellation of the event, and it was understandable that he'd feel more emotional than most. As the unofficial 'host' of the race among his peers, he's become accustomed to hearing his fellow drivers and rivals rave about the city, the fans, and the collective excitement that comes with opening the season in Australia.
As the news of the cancellation sunk in, Ricciardo quickly took his leave, a flight back to Perth departing not long after he would have been cutting his first laps in his Renault for the new season.
Where Ricciardo and the F1 roadshow goes next is anyone's guess. Less than a day after the Australian race was cancelled, rounds two and three of the season, in Bahrain and Vietnam, were postponed.
The following scheduled race in China had already been struck from the calendar, meaning we may not see Ricciardo or his peers wheel-to-wheel for some time this season, if at all. (X)

Formula One Cars - Unmatched Innovation at Its Finest
Solution One Competing is, fairly simply, the extremely important of karting. It is the expert kind of the sporting activity in its totality. Formula One is a global sensation, a media conglomerate that generates millions as well as countless bucks a year from advertising, sponsorship, and broadcast incomes. Expert vehicle drivers with millionaire bank accounts race these stunning kart marvels that are unmatched, flush with technical deluxes - everything from hard to produce lightweight frames that move the machine to tires with unmatched grooving style that exhibit powerful activity on the circuit.  2021 Formula 1 Results
There is no sporting activity that bests represents the term "global sport" like Solution One racing. Many nations act as active individuals fit the specialist karting scene - for example, Malaysia is a hot spot for racing (Fernando Alonso, a Spanish-born driver under Group Renault recently won a race there) and also Italy plays an essential function in developing and manufacturing first class, state-of-the-art karts. Vehicle drivers and racing personalities hail from all parts of the word - you have the charismatic as well as preferred Italian Renault employer Flavio Briatore, the handsome young 23 years of age auto racing natural born player in Fernando Alonso who stars in a Renault Megane commercial with his pet pig, and among the greatest earning sports numbers in world history in Michael Schumacher. Competitions prevail in Formula One - adding the edge of enjoyment with every zip of the contour and nitrous increase of the maker Formula 1 News.
In order to much better become accustomed with Formula One racing, we must recognize its organization. Karting goes means beyond matching 3 2-cycle engine devices versus each other on an oblong circuit. Solution One is split right into drivers & their corresponding teams. Under such hallmark automobile firms like Renault, Ferrari, as well as Toyota - each chauffeur has a setting up cast of staffers containing auto mechanics, engineers, and developers all functioning in the direction of one goal: to make that speedster much faster using all the sources at their disposal. Headed by team bosses that are adept at creating sponsorship opportunities and also constructing the best actors for each group, Solution One uses the finest professionals in business with histories in computer system and car - also experts with aerospace experience! High end, (uncommon innovation reserved for room projects) in some instances, produce the fastest and also most efficient automobile possible. According to FI rules, racing teams have to make, construct, as well as developed their very own karts from square one. The staff is the pride of each individual team - qualified as well as able to win every 57 lap enduro race from Malaysia to Great Britain.
Solution One vehicles can be summed up in two words: technological marvels. These smooth, reduced riding gems tearing through laps at rates topping 200 mph. consist of more than just a framework, an engine, as well as 4 wheels. For beginners, the engine is located behind the cabin in contrast to basic vehicles. They include 10 cylinder engines that create warmth which propel the kart onward. Team engineers are constantly considering ways to make their engines more effective. Presently, 1000 bhp (a range for horsepower) has actually not been covered - it depends on the teams to create an engine which would certainly prosper sustaining speed in addition to assistance the framework. And as we know, there is a tight open cabin for Jarno Trulli to maneuver his equipment in Formula 1 News.
Construction of Solution One race automobiles is unprecedented. The initial general rule in making a bonafide piece of structure is to make it evaluate as least as feasible. Much less kart weight associates to faster rates. For this reason, group brains utilize lightweight material that is difficult to construct. The minimum weight of a kart must be 600 kg consisting of the driver. This guarantees an equal opportunity, although teams are permitted to maintain their cash making building techniques a trick from various other groups. Group personnel is really extremely regarded in the Formula One business. Their technological as well as dynamical know-how of the equipments they develop is a beneficial property to any kind of group. As well as like freelances, they are lured as well as authorized by the similarity firms producing a recruiting war for their services. Naturally, there are restrictions for creating karts. You can not include nitro boosts to your machine or use technology that looks like life in the year 3000. Teams are always aiming to bend the rules a little and turning up methods to defeat the competition lawfully Formula 1 News.
Expert kart tires need to have optimal attributes to ensure smooth driving. For one, tires have to have grooving technology constructed into them. For the novices, grooves are indented lines in tires that enable it to decrease considerably on turns and to adapt to the track surface. Regardless of what the innovation, kart tires are simply not skilled at standing up to the rigors of asphalt, concrete, and dust. Therefore, Formula One racers are allocated two rest stop during the program of a 57 lap race to alter tires. If you've ever before viewed a Solution One race, team staffers with lightning fast hands have an extremely restricted time for which to get rid of as well as change tires in the pit quit - oftentimes not going beyond over 7 secs! Rules are positioned on tire grooves (a minimum of 4) to enable an even playing field for all racers. Bear in mind enthusiasts, grooves offer more to slow down the kart than to speed it up.

Bon Scott's Accidental Death
Bon Scott's Accidental Death
Tumblr media
Ronald Belford Scott, also known as Bon Scott, was born on July 9th, 1946, in Forfar, Scotland. He was the second born child born to his parents Charles and Isabelle, their first born being a son named Sandy, that passed away shortly after birth. In 1949, Bon's younger brother Derek was born. In 1952, his family moved to Australia when he was six, first moving to Melbourne. In 1953, his youngest sibling Graeme was born. Ronald recieved his nickname 'Bon' after he started school, since there was already another Ronald in his class, and his classmates played on the words "Bonnie Scotland".
In 1956, the Scott family moved to Fremantle, and Bon joined the Fremantle Scots Pipe Band, learning the drums. He dropped out of school at the age of 15, and worked various jobs such as a farmhand, crayfisherman, and weighing-machine mechanic trainee. In 1963, he was sent to the Fremantle Prison's assessment centre where he spent a short time, and later spent nine months at the Riverbank Juvenile Institution, for giving a false name and address to the police, escaping legal custody, stealing 12 gallons of petrol, and having unlawful carnal knowledge. He later tried to join the Australian Army, but was rejected for being considered "socially maladjusted".
In 1964, at the age of 18, he started his first band called The Spektors, and doubled as drummer and vocalist. He was inspired by Little Richard, who is cited as having been his idol. He performed in other bands such as The Valentines and Fraternity Despite Fraternity recording two albums in the early 70's, the records were not formally released until decades later. On January 24th, 1972, Bon married Irene Thornton. After two years, the couple separated, then later divorced in 1977, but still remained friends up until his death. In 1974, Bon suffered a motorcycle injury that put him into a coma. After he was released, he became the chauffer for AC/DC. Later that same year, he would be promoted to lead singer.
Tumblr media
In Michael Browning's book 'Dog Eat Dog' (Browning managed AC/DC in their early years), he states that he visited Bon Scott in the hospital in Melbourne in 1975 after Bon overdosed on drugs. Michael Browning stated in his book that, "Bon was bragging to me the last time he was in that hospital, he was visiting two separate girls, both unknown to each other, who were both giving birth to his kids at the same time. So there's at least two of Bon Scott's children out there, or at least two I can vouch for.".
In 1979, the band released 'Highway To Hell', which reached the top 20 in the US, their popularity was reaching a high status that ever before. In early 1980, Bon was in England, and had went with Mike Cocks to visit their friends from the band Trust in the Scorpio Sound Studio in London, where Trust recorded the album 'Repression'. Bon was working on texts for the English version of the album, and later the musicians did a jam together of the song 'Ride On', this would turn out to be his last recording.
Tumblr media
Somewhere around late February 18th to the early morning of February 19th, 1980, Bon had just visited the London club called the Music Machine, and was left to sleep in a Renault 5 that was owned by his friend Alistair Kinnear. Allegedly, Alistair had driven the car home, where Bon had passed out before getting there. The location the two were at was 67 Overhill Road in East Dulwich. Later that day, Alistair found Bon lifeless, and alerted the authorities. Bon Scott was taken to King's College Hospital in Cemberwell, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Bon's body was embalmed, then later cremated. His ashes were interred by his family at Fremantle Cemetery, in Fremantle, Australia. He was 33.
[Confusion and Conspiracies]
There are multiple inconsistencies of Bon's death, such as misspellings of names from various parties. There has been the contention that Bon was killed by exhaust fumes that were redirected into the car, causing some sort of asthma attack. Anecdotally, I had heard that Bon passed away due to fumes in the car and it irritated his asthma.
The timeline of the events has been challenged, such as when Bon was exactly found dead, in the book 'Bon: The Last Highway', by Jesse Fink (2017). Apparently the book quotes Paul Chapman (guitarist from UFO), stating that he had been informed early that morning by Bon's friend Joe Fury that Scott was dead. Alistair Kinnear said that he found Bon in the evening. Paul Chapman states that Bon and Joe Fury were with him the previous night of February 18th, and Bon had left his apartment to buy heroin, never to return. Jesse Fink's book also reveals that Bon and Alistair were not alone that fated night, but there was indeed a third person there named Zena Kakoulli. Zena stayed over at Alistair's apartment while Bon was in the parked car outside. In a 2018 update of Fink's book, he stated that there was evidence that a fourth person was there, Zena Kakoulli's husband Peter Perrett, who was also a rock musician. Fink believes that pulmonary aspiration of vomit was the cause of Bon's death, from a suspected heroin overdose, though Bon's official cause of death is listed as 'acute alcohol poisoning', classified as 'death by misadventure'. In a book by Clinton Walker, 'Highway To Hell', Walker agrees with the coroner that Bon died of alcohol poisoning.
Another source states that when Bon passed out, Alistair called Silver Smith asking what to do, and she is the suggested leaving him in the car since it wasn't out of the ordinary for him to pass out after a night of heavy drinking. Alistair claimed that he "just could not move him", and covered Bon with a blanket, and left a note telling him how to get to the apartment in case he woke up. Alistair then put Bon on his back to be in a more comfortable position.
Allegedly, when Bon's body was found, it was not in the laid back position that Alistair had put it. Instead, Bon's body was "curled around the gearstick, his neck twisted, his dental plate dislodged. The bile rose up in his throat and blocked his asthmatic windpipe.". This is according to Clinton Walker's book, 'Highway to Hell'.
The same evening that the events transpired, the original drummer for AC/DC, Colin Burgness, was also at the same bar that Bon had been at. He stated that the remembered "us leaving and he alright-like he wasn't drunk at all. And we went home, and the next day he's dead! To me it's just a really, really, strange thing." Burgness also stated that, "I can definitely say, to this day, that when we left, he was definitely not drunk at all."
According to Alistair Kinnear though, Bon was already drunk when they met up at the bar. When they got to the club, Bon was "drinking four whiskies straight in a glass at a time". In Jesse Fink's book, Bon was remembered as a "prodigious drinker", where seven double whiskies putting him "in the ground seems a strange notion".
After Bon's death, Alistair disappeared, and there were doubts that he even existed. His apartment was ransacked, and he was never heard from again. Interestingly, there is the common contention that Bon may have also died because the temperatures where in freezing weather. But according to Fink's book, it has been proven that the temps were higher than normal, and above freezing.
[After]
After Bon's death, the remaining members of AC/DC considered quitting the band. In the end, they decided not to since they concluded that Bon would have wanted them to continue. With encouragement from Bon's family, they hired Brian Johnson as their new vocalist, and released 'Back in Black' five months later. The album was tributed to him, though there has been controversy whether some of the lyrics were originally Bon's, of which he was uncredited for. In Fink's book, Bon Scott's girlfriends Silver Smith and Holly X both stated that he wrote, "You Shook Me All Night Long".
Holly X is believed to have been the inspiration for the song. In 'You Shook Me', there is the lyric, "She had sightless eyes... working double time on the seduction line." But Holly X allegedly had a horse called Doubletime, she had also been told by Bon that she had 'Chartreuse eyes'. According to Holly X, the lyric stated 'chartreuse eyes' instead of sightless eyes'.
Silver Smith stated that she had seen the lines from the song in a letter from Bon in 1976. Allegedly, he had just finished writing the lyrics to the 'Back In Black' album, on the night of his death. The task was a call for celebration, which is hinted at being the reason why he went to the club that fateful night.
Silver Smith has since passed away.
[Memorial]
Bon's grave site has since become a cultural landmark, with it being declared important enough to be included on the list of classified heritage places. His grave is the most visited in all of Australia.
On Mary 6th, 2006, the town of Kirriemuir, Scotland held a service for him, and revealed a Caithness stone slab commemorating Bon. On April 30th, 2016, they erected a bronze statue of him.
On February 24th, 2008, a bronze statue of him was erected in Fremantle, Australia.

McLaren's woes worsen as Fernando Alonso is forced to stop on track

McLaren's woes worsen as Fernando Alonso is forced to stop on track
Just when McLaren thought things were looking up in pre-season testing, the British Formula One team suffered yet another setback.
Fernando Alonso was beginning to show his ability in the Renault-powered McLaren during day two of the concluding F1 test in Spain on Wednesday.
The Spanish driver completed 46 impressive laps in the morning session, more than McLaren managed in the whole of day one at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.

Alonso was beginning to show his ability in the Renault-powered McLaren in Barcelona
But disaster struck when Alonso’s car stopped on the track, forcing the two-time champion to climb out of his challenger and assess what caused the breakdown.
The McLaren came to a stop at Turn 7, and track marshalls were forced to apply solution to the circuit which suggested there was some sort of leak.
McLaren opted to change the engine on Alonso’s car after the leak, keeping the two-time world champion in the garage for most of the morning. He completed only 47 laps, the fewest among the 10 drivers who made it to the track. His time of 1:19.856 was still good for fourth fastest.
It comes after team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne had to be pushed back to the garage by his McLaren mechanics on Tuesday when he stopped in the pit lane after completing one lap.
The Belgian returned to the track moments later but then broke down again, this time on the entrance to the pits, and was wheeled back by his McLaren team.
A faulty wheel nut cost Alonso valuable track time on the first day at Barcelona last week, while Vandoorne did not complete any running last Tuesday afternoon following mechanical gremlins.

Renault has blamed faulty batteries for electrical problems suffered in testing by McLaren and Red Bull, both teams who use their engines.
McLaren had two electrical-related problems on Tuesday, the first day of the final pre-season test in Barcelona, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen also brought out a red flag when his car stopped on track.
Renault’s works team had no problems but technical head Bob Bell said it was nothing to do with the way the batteries were installed.
‘What we do ahead of (the season opener in) Melbourne is that we try and shake down all of the battery systems to make sure all of the stock that are going racing are in good shape,’ he said.
‘That’s why we test them here. We revolve them around the customer teams and ourselves to make sure they are all tested ahead of Melbourne. So it’s not unusual to find issues.’
McLaren have switched to Renault this season after terminating their difficult three-year relationship with Honda.
Stoffel Vandoorne had to be pushed back to the garage by McLaren mechanics on Tuesday
Vandoorne stopped his Renault-powered McLaren after suffering a power shutdown
Honda’s new partners Toro Rosso, owned by Red Bull, have now done many more laps than McLaren, whose first week of testing in Barcelona was hit by mechanical niggles.
Vandoorne lost power in the car early on Tuesday but was able to coast back to the pits. He then suffered the same issues when he went out again and stopped on track. The team then changed the battery.
His day’s testing was then cut short by an hydraulic leak.
McLaren, who last won a race in 2012, are hoping to get back on the podium this year while Red Bull, who won three races in 2017, are seen as potential title contenders again.
‘Those problems could have affected any of the three teams, so of course it’s an issue for us,’ Bell said of Tuesday’s issues.
‘But the reason we do this testing of those components before going to Melbourne is to find the ones that have got problems,’ he added. ‘It’s the right thing to do, we have found some that are not fit for purpose and that’s great.’
The car had to be pushed back into the garage for repairs during the final week of testing

Benny Scott
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Benny Scott (born February 4, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, died September 25, 2009), was a second-generation African American race car driver, a rarity in the motor racing industry. Scott's father, Bill “Bullet” Scott, inspired his son racing midgets in Southern California in the 1930s.
Early career
In 1968, Scott quickly recognized the enormous sums of money it took to race cars, so he earned his master’s degree in psychology. He taught psychology at Los Angeles Harbor College while competing in foreign stock car events in Southern California at the height of the Vietnam War, driving a Renault 4CV. He finished the season ranked 10th in points. In 1969, he returned with an advanced tubular chassis Renault with a Gordini engine and won the Foreign Stock Car Association of Southern California title, his first championship. Shortly thereafter he transitioned into road racing, driving an Austin-Healey Bug-Eyed Sprite in the H-Production class and Formula B cars at Riverside International Raceway in Riverside, California, earning his Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) license.
Mel Leighton, a Los Angeles-based African American racing pioneer whose career had begun before the Second World War, introduced Scott to Leonard W. Miller, an African American businessman and president of Dynamic Programs, Inc., a manpower consulting firm in Trenton, New Jersey.
Joining a team
In 1971, Miller organized Vanguard Racing, Inc. to field Benny Scott in Formula A, to prepare him over five years for the Indianapolis 500. Vanguard’s board of directors included Paul Jackson, president of Jackson & Sanders Construction Company, Sargent Shriver, first head of the Peace Corps and former Ambassador to France, who was the Democratic candidate for vice president in the 1972 presidential election, Washington Redskins defensive halfback Brig Owens, and Richard Deutsch, chairman of the board of Harbor Oil Corporation.
Scott drove the Vanguard Formula A in a McLaren M10-A, powered with a 500-horsepower Chevrolet V-8 in the L & M Continental 5000 Championship and SCCA events. Drivers came from as far away as Melbourne, Australia to compete in Formula A. Scott won the CSCC-SCCA Southern Pacific Division Championship in 1972 with the McLaren M10-A.
Scott was featured in Champion Spark Plug’s first national print advertising featuring an African American driver, in a campaign that ran in several national magazines tilted “Fast Road to Indianapolis.” The ad showed Scott standing beside a Vanguard McLaren M10-A. Champion became a secondary sponsor for Black American Racers, Inc. and a charter member of the Black American Racers Association (BARA).
BARA was created in 1972 by Leonard W. Miller, Ron Hines, Wendell Scott, and Malcolm Durham. This organization blossomed into a nationwide membership of 5000, supporting all African American efforts in various categories of auto racing competition. BARA also served as a support network for Benny Scott’s extraordinary motor racing ambition in the aftermath of America's Civil Rights era.
In addition to Benny Scott, Vanguard Racing, Inc. fielded a white driver, John Mahler, in the 1972 Indianapolis 500. Vanguard’s concept was to use Mahler as a development coach and a conduit for Scott’s preparation for the Indianapolis 500 in subsequent years. However, many of Vanguard’s stockholders were so exuberant over the Indianapolis experience with John Mahler that they lost their patience to develop Benny Scott. As a result, they disbanded.
National sponsorship
In 1973, Leonard W. Miller formed Black American Racers, Inc. (BAR) from his offices located at 130 West State Street in Trenton, New Jersey. BAR secured sponsorship from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company (Viceroy Cigarettes). The sponsorship included an internal plan dubbed “Road to Indy.” This progression strategy put Scott in Formula Super Vee (FSV) competition in SCCA, International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), and the Robert Bosch Gold Cup series on road courses throughout America including Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, and Road America.
Scott achieved several podium finishes in Lola T-324 FSVs purchased from Carl Haas. His most memorable event was at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California on May 4, 1975, where he achieved pole position at 100.882 mph. He was the first driver ever to top 100 mph in a Formula Super Vee at Laguna Seca. In addition, he was the fastest driver during the entire weekend and bested his qualifying speed in the race at 101.111 mph. He was even faster than Germany’s legendary Hans-Joachim Stuck, who drove a BMW 3.0 CSL in another series. On the last lap of the race, approaching the finish line, Scott was beaten by inches by Freddie Phillips in his Eldon Mk 14B. Other drivers who emerged from FSV included Howdy Holmes, Bob Lazier, and Bill Alsup. All three qualified for the Indianapolis 500 in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Inaugural Long Beach Grand Prix
Brown & Williamson Tobacco was more than pleased with Scott’s development. The company advanced BAR into Formula 5000 racing, competing at the same circuits with legends such as Al Unser, Mario Andretti, David Hobbs, Brian Redman, Jackie Oliver, and Jody Scheckter.
Scott’s most notable race in Formula 5000 was the inaugural Long Beach Grand Prix on September 28, 1975, where he qualified the BAR Lola T332 24th on the grid of the 30 drivers that qualified for the race out of 60 entrants from five countries. Viceroy sponsored Unser and Andretti under Vel’s Parnelli Jones as well. Benny finished 11th in the grand prix, his third race in the 210-mph Lola T332. The Viceroy Parnelli cars expired, due to mechanical failures.
At the end of the 1975 season, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company withdrew their entire auto racing sponsorships around the globe as a result of internal union pressures to curtail promotional dollars. (BAR was unable to replicate the sponsorship.)
Hall of Fame
In 1976, Benny Scott was inducted into the Black Athletes Hall of Fame at the New York Hilton. Actor Bill Cosby was the master of ceremonies. A legion of athletes and sports icons were inducted, including football great Frank Gifford, ABC-TV commentator Howard Cosell, boxing promoter, Don King, NBA player Earl “The Pearl” Monroe of the New York Knickerbockers, and boxer Joe Frazier. The black-tie event was attended by more than 1000 spectators and VIPs.
In 1978, Benny Scott returned to Formula Super Vee racing and finished the season for BAR’s African American driver Tommy Thompson, after Thompson death in a crash in September at the Trenton Speedway in Trenton, New Jersey in a Formula Super Vee race (called Mini-Indy cars at this time). Scott never competed after 1978, because of a lack of further corporate sponsorship.
Retirement
Benny Scott's wife, Shill Scott, was extremely supportive during his racing career. She died in 1994. They had one son, Damien. Benny also had another son, Eric Parker, who was born and adopted out in 1964. Benny and Eric were reunited in the mid 1990s. Scott worked many years as a psychology professor in Southern California. In 2001, he left his home in Malibu and retired from his position as dean of academic affairs at Los Angeles Mission College to an island in Washington State. He is the most educated African American race car driver to date to reach the professional ranks in open wheel racing. Leonard W. Miller, Ron Hines, and Benny Scott remain close friends.

The 34-year-old is focused on a sixth world championship title, and his brilliant start to the new season has led to comparisons with Ayrton Senna.
The former teammate of the legendary Brazilian Gerhard Berger told Motorsport Week that Hamilton is only a driver on the same level as one of F1 & # 39; s greatest drivers. do you see this driver against Ayrton? & # 39; And I always say, in all years,: & # 39; I don't see anyone near Ayrton. & # 39;

Many nations act as active individuals in shaping the expert karting scene - as an example, Malaysia is a location for racing (Fernando Alonso, a Spanish-born vehicle driver under Group Renault lately won a race there) as well as Italy plays a crucial function in developing as well as producing excellent, top-of-the-line karts. Chauffeurs as well as competing characters hail from all components of words - you have the charming and also popular Italian Renault employer Flavio Briatore, the good-looking young 23 year old racing natural born player in Fernando Alonso who stars in a Renault Megane industrial with his pet dog pig, and among the highest possible earning sporting activities numbers in globe history in Michael Schumacher. Rivalries are common in Formula One - including the edge of enjoyment with every zip of the contour and also nitrous increase of the equipment Formula 1 News.
In order to much better become accustomed with Solution One auto racing, we must comprehend its organization. Karting goes way past pitting 3 2-cycle engine makers against each various other on an oblong circuit. Solution One is split into motorists & their particular teams. Under such hallmark car business like Renault, Ferrari, and also Toyota - each vehicle driver has a putting together cast of staffers consisting of auto mechanics, designers, and designers all working in the direction of one objective: to make that speedster faster utilizing all the resources at their disposal. Headed by group employers that are proficient at producing sponsorship possibilities and setting up the most effective actors for each group, Formula One uses the finest experts in business with backgrounds in computer system and vehicle - even specialists with aerospace experience! High-end, (rare modern technology booked for room jobs) in some instances, create the fastest and also most efficient automobile feasible. According to FI regulations, racing groups have to design, construct, as well as built their own karts from scratch. The team is the pride of each individual team - capable and able to win every 57 lap enduro race from Malaysia to Great Britain.
Solution One autos can be summarized in 2 words: technical marvels. These streamlined, low riding treasures tearing via laps at rates topping 200 mph. include greater than simply a framework, an engine, as well as 4 wheels. For beginners, the engine lies behind the cockpit instead of standard autos. They contain 10 cylinder engines that produce warm which propel the kart forward. Group engineers are always looking into methods to make their engines much more effective. Presently, 1000 bhp (a range for horse power) has not been topped - it depends on the teams to produce an engine which would certainly fare well supporting speed in addition to support the chassis. And as we understand, there is a snug open cabin for Jarno Trulli to maneuver his machine in Formula 1 News.
Building And Construction of Solution One race cars is unprecedented. The initial guideline in developing a bonafide item of framework is to make it evaluate as least as feasible. Much less kart weight associates to quicker speeds. For this reason, team brains use light-weight product that is tough to construct. The minimum weight of a kart should be 600 kg including the vehicle driver. This makes sure a level playing field, although teams are allowed to keep their money making building approaches a trick from other groups. Team team is very extremely concerned in the Formula One organization. Their technical and also dynamical know-how of the machines they build is an useful possession to any group. As well as like freelances, they are drawn and authorized by the likes of business creating a recruiting battle for their services. Obviously, there are restrictions for creating karts. You can not add nitro boosts to your device or usage modern technology that looks like life in the year 3000. Teams are always wanting to flex the rules somewhat and also showing up ways to beat the competitors legally Formula 1 News.
Professional kart tires have to have maximum characteristics to make sure smooth driving. For one, tires need to have grooving innovation developed into them. For the novices, grooves are indented lines in tires that allow for it to reduce substantially on turns and to adjust to the track surface. Whatever the modern technology, kart tires are merely not skilled at enduring the rigors of asphalt, concrete, and also dirt. Consequently, Solution One racers are allotted 2 rest stop during the training course of a 57 lap race to transform tires. If you've ever seen a Formula One race, group staffers with lightning fast hands have an extremely minimal time for which to get rid of and also change tires in the pit quit - most of the times not going beyond over 7 secs! Rules are placed on tire grooves (a minimum of 4) to permit an even playing field for all racers. Remember lovers, grooves offer more to decrease the kart than to speed it up.

Sebastian Vettel strikes first psychological blow in Lewis Hamilton battle
Sebastian Vettel strikes first psychological blow in Lewis Hamilton battle
Sebastian Vettel strikes first psychological blow in Lewis Hamilton battle
F1 driver Jolyon Palmer, who left Renault on the finish of 2017, joins the BBC crew this season to supply perception and evaluation from the viewpoint of the opponents.
One race down, 20 to go and the primary psychological blow has been struck within the battle between Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.
Mercedes had the tempo in Melbourne. Hamilton did every little thing proper and had the Australian Grand Prix underneath management – but he didn’t win. And to make issues worse, his fundamental rival and fellow four-time world champion Vettel did.
It would damage for Hamilton. Having pushed an ideal weekend, to lose a race by issues outdoors of your management is a nightmare state of affairs.
As a driver, there are such a lot of questions you need to ask your crew to determine how issues went flawed – however in the end this one is especially right down to a stroke of unhealthy luck.
Positive, if Hamilton knew earlier that the gap to Vettel was too big, then he may need been in a position to push arduous and slender it a bit earlier earlier than the digital security automotive (VSC) was known as, however actually it was the VSC itself that determined this race.
For Vettel and Ferrari, this win will give them an enormous increase and an power for the remainder of the yr.
They seemed a bit off Mercedes and even Purple Bull at instances through the weekend, and Vettel by no means gave the impression to be on high of the automotive as he did so typically final yr, even qualifying behind his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.
Ferrari had a trump card on this race, although, which was having two vehicles on the entrance versus the lone Mercedes of Hamilton. With the ability to break up the methods allowed them to throw extra warning to the wind and revenue from the eventual VSC.
Lewis Hamilton watches as Sebastian Vettel celebrates his victory in Melbourne
What subsequent?
So how does Hamilton react?
Over time we have seen all kinds of ups and downs for Hamilton and many various reactions following them. On Sunday after the race, past the preliminary disappointment of the defeat, he appeared constructive and prepared to study with the crew to verify it would not occur once more.
Briton Hamilton has matured lots through the years and has certainly develop into a stronger driver, more durable to beat than ever.
It was solely in 2016 when he had a tough, unfortunate run firstly of the season. After getting crushed within the season opener by Nico Rosberg, he proceeded to have a extremely unhealthy string of outcomes and ended the primary 4 rounds 43 factors behind his German team-mate, who would in the end go on to win the title.
It is essential Hamilton responds in one of the best ways attainable within the subsequent spherical in Bahrain – as a result of if this season goes something like that one, Vettel might be robust to catch.
Typically that is after we see Hamilton at his finest, although. He might be out to make amends.
The battle between him and Vettel acquired a bit extra private after tensions throughout Saturday’s information convention. Mercedes will study from their defeat. They will not take any possibilities in Bahrain and Hamilton can have the bit between his enamel, totally motivated for revenge.
Hamilton has each proper to really feel assured and his calmness outdoors the automotive on Sunday night was in all probability on account of the realisation that he does certainly have the quickest automotive of 2018 in the mean time – and by some margin.
A clear weekend in Bahrain and Ferrari’s lead may not final for lengthy.
Strain constructing on Bottas
Valtteri Bottas gave himself a mountain to climb in Melbourne after crashing in qualifying
A person in much more want of a robust race in Bahrain is Hamilton’s team-mate Valtteri Bottas. It’s no secret that Bottas wants a robust season this yr, having been given solely a one-year extension to his contract by Mercedes and sometimes struggling to get close to Hamilton’s stage of efficiency within the second half of final yr.
Melbourne proved to be a disastrous first spherical for Bottas and that early strain has now elevated drastically.
The Finn within the combine with the entrance group earlier than a heavy qualifying crash meant he would begin solely 15th, and his race was considerably underwhelming as he struggled to make inroads behind slower vehicles and ended up ending eighth.
Bottas’ strain will come from two areas.
Firstly from himself, as a result of all F1 drivers demand excessive performances of themselves. They’re very self-critical, even when it may not appear it from their ‘ebook of excuses’ interviews at instances!
Secondly there might be some strain constructing from inside Mercedes already.
This race was arguably misplaced as a result of Hamilton was combating a two pronged Ferrari assault with out his team-mate to accompany him on the entrance.
If Bottas may have been used to cowl off one of many Ferraris, Mercedes would have been in command of both scenario strategically and Ferrari would not have been in a position to play their trump card on the VSC.
It isn’t a pleasant feeling to depart the primary race of the season on the again foot. After months of coaching and preparation it isn’t solely extraordinarily disappointing however F1 is such a psychological sport that it provides to the strain and makes the subsequent race that little bit more durable.
Mercedes reveal the brand new W09
Bottas will flip as much as Bahrain and instantly face questions on his efficiency and whether or not he can presumably up his sport. The longer this goes on, the more durable the questions develop into and the extra the strain will increase.
This time final yr, I got here off the again of an especially robust opening race myself – and for the next week you’re left caught together with your ideas and don’t have any speedy likelihood to redeem your self.
Most drivers will keep out in Australia, or at the very least the southern hemisphere, to calm down earlier than heading to the subsequent spherical in Bahrain. The time distinction messes with you in case you come dwelling and head again out once more to the subsequent race, and Australia is a pleasant place to discover and prepare within the sunshine as effectively.
Nevertheless it will also be fairly a lonely time as a driver. You might be a part of a crew, however the actuality is that as quickly as you allow the observe your private crew shrinks to simply your self and your coach, and possibly if you’re fortunate an additional individual or two in your entourage.
The crew publicly help you after all, however they are not more likely to be speaking by the human facet of it and providing you with confidence again in your week off. This can be a battle a driver has to face with himself.
Bottas could effectively have a niggling little bit of self-doubt creeping in and it’s vitally essential now for him to bounce again with a strong show in Bahrain – not just for the Mercedes crew however for himself as effectively.
On this scenario, the earlier you placed on a very good show the faster the strain goes away.
The Finn is an excellent driver; he’s simply paired with one who I believe is the quickest in trendy instances. It is a robust ask to match Hamilton, however Bottas wants to indicate at the very least some help to the four-time world champion within the coming rounds.
Not solely drivers really feel strain
Haas seemed set for a incredible begin to the F1 season earlier than each vehicles needed to retire throughout the area of three laps
Strain and self-doubt do not restrict themselves to the drivers. They may even be affecting the two mechanics whose pit stop blunders cost the Haas team a possible best-ever fourth and fifth-place end in Melbourne.
I really feel so sorry for the fellows at Haas, and significantly the 2 guys who’re culpable. They need to really feel like the burden of the world is on their shoulders proper now after costing the crew crucial factors so early with a basic mistake. However, like something, one of the best ways for them and all of the crew to bounce again is to profit from alternatives in Bahrain.
Drivers Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen might be feeling aggrieved there as effectively – however F1 is a crew sport.
There are many instances the place the automotive and pit stops have labored completely just for the driving force to make a mistake. The reverse can occur as effectively.
It was very mature of the drivers to not cross the blame in any respect. And Grosjean, who has been on the crew since its conception, was seen consoling the mechanic within the paddock after the incident. The drivers know these guys could be the important thing to a very good season on the observe with the arduous work they put in off it.
So, as we head to the desert in Bahrain there are numerous psychological questions going through the F1 world. These are simply those now we have chosen to deal with as a result of they’re the most important tales – however there might be comparable, if much less excessive, conditions at groups up and down the pit lane, relying on how Melbourne went for them.
Usually if you give Mercedes a prod, they arrive again combating. Each Hamilton and Bottas should do this in Bahrain if they’re to wipe the grins off Ferrari’s faces.
Melbourne could not have instructed us every little thing about F1 in 2018 but, but it surely has definitely set us up for a very good season.
