Hi! Me again, your friendly neighborhood Sean Renard lover! I was wondering if whenever you feel like writing if you would consider writing Sean being very protective over the reader and everyone is saying to him that he’s so in lover with them and he’s like “no I’m not” and then he’s like realizing that’s he’s like in love with the reader damn near devoted. Or whatever you’d like to write. I’d honestly be happy with anything you put out. But take your time, no rush needed. Just whenever you feel like it. Thank you so much!!!! Have an awesome day!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

“Lieutenant Renard?” Sean looks up from his desk to see Cadet Drew Wu fidgeting with his button-down cuffs. He was nineteen and green in the gills, still exploring his options as a police cadet. But even though he hadn’t fully committed to the police academy yet, he was a hard worker.
He’d make a good police officer.
Sean sets down his pen and clears his throat.
“What’s the matter, Wu?” The police cadet stepped aside, and Sean’s jaw almost dropped at the sight of you. It was as if you had come straight from a painting. It seemed you hadn’t changed at all. Well… not exactly. You had aged, being a handful of years younger than him.
But you were still as beautiful as the day he lost you.
After all, the last time he had seen you was when his mother took him, and they fled from the Royal family out for his blood. You were but a fledgling that hadn’t yet sprouted in your full glory.
You both stare at each other before Wu swallows awkwardly and takes his leave. Then, you take a seat at his desk and smile,
“It’s certainly been a while, Sean.” You say quietly, and he feels his heart stutter at your warm words.
It had been years since anyone other than his mother was so full of kindness for him.
He sets down his pen and leans his forearms on the desk.
“How did you find me?” He asks seriously, and you shrug
“I have my ways. You should know this by now.” You tease, and your eyes flash a deep glowing blue for just a second. So quick, in fact, that he almost missed it. Feathers as black as pitch shuddered down your hairline before disappearing into your tresses.
Sometimes he forgot you were wesen. A Raub-Kondor, to be exact. And a brilliant one at that. You were often employed, even at a young age, by the Royal Families to track down and “take care of” certain traitors or deserters. It was how he met you in the first place. The thought of your job made him shudder,
“Are you here to get rid of me?” At this, you looked downright offended, eyes going wide and mouth dropping open ever so slightly.
“Of course not!” You hiss, and he feels his shoulders relax. He wasn’t in danger after all. You notice his palpable relief and smile that smile that makes his heart skip a beat.
The two of you part ways with the promise of meeting up for coffee. Your number is stored safely in Sean’s phone, and you even send him a text saying, “It’s me :)” and he can’t help but smile at the little emoji. You were always lighthearted despite all the blood on your hands.
Tumblr media
You shift in place, eyes scanning every face in the small coffee shop as you wait for Sean to arrive. You check your phone and scroll through the brief messages you had shared with your childhood friend. He wasn’t the best conversationalist via texting. He typically preferred a call over texts.
“Have you been waiting long?” Comes his voice, and you jump, knee jerking up and hitting the underside of the table. Your eyes meet his, and he offers a half smile, clearly amused by your reaction.
“Not at all. I just got here a few minutes ago. I took the liberty of ordering you a coffee, black with one sugar, if I remember right?” You say, ears burning at your surprise at his arrival. He sheds his long overcoat, drapes it over the chair across from the booth you were in, and takes a seat.
“You remember correctly. I’m surprised you remember after all this time.”
At that, you duck your head, ears burning even more in embarrassment.
“I try to remember everything about you.” You say quietly, so quietly that he can barely hear it. But obviously, he does because his face splits into a warm grin.
He looks so handsome when he smiles.
The waitress brings over your drinks and a slice of chocolate cake that you ordered. You visibly brighten at the sight of the sweet treat and nearly dig in when you remember your manners.
“Would you like some?” You offer, noting the waitress had gone through the trouble to give you an extra fork for the occasion. Sean, sipping his coffee, shakes his head.
“Thank you, but I’ll pass for now. I know how much you adore your sweets.” He teases and you roll your eyes, secretly happy that you get the chocolate dessert all to yourself.
The cake is absolutely demolished in a few minutes flat, though you were careful not to get any crumbs on your clothes. Then, you start on your coffee.
“I see you still are a sugar addict,” Sean says as you add sugar to your bitter drink. You huff but stir and take a sip of the sweetened beverage. Perfect.
“I prefer the term sugar motivated.” You say, and he chuckles, making your breath catch, but you hide it quickly by taking another sip.
You thought your crush on the bastard prince had died over the years.
Clearly not.
“So…” You start, and he looks up from his coffee, eyebrow raised. “How’s life here in Portland?” He hums, glancing around the coffee shop before answering.
“It’s certainly different than Vienna. But enough about me… Why are you here?” He asks, suddenly serious, and you have to fight the urge to sit up straight.
You should’ve guessed he would ask something like this. It had taken you years to track him down to the Portland area. And for what? But you knew better than to lie.
So…
You didn’t.
“I missed you. As stupid as it sounds, I missed having someone to talk to. Well… that and your mother is concerned about you joining the police department. She’s worried it’ll put a target on your back.” You say, and Sean sits back in his chair, stirring his coffee absentmindedly as he mulls over your words.
“I appreciate the concern, but I’ll be fine. I’m surrounded by good people.” He says, and you raise an eyebrow skeptically. Thankfully, Sean takes your concern seriously. He always has.
“But what if things go wrong?” You ask, and he shrugs a shoulder.
“If it makes you feel any better, you are more than welcome to stay here in Portland to keep an eye on me.” You smile at his words,
“I’d like that.”
Tumblr media
Despite your promises to keep out of the way, you quickly become absorbed into his little work family. As the years go on and the precinct grows, you are always a constant at his side. You attend his promotion ceremony from his previous ranks to precinct captain, and he holds your gaze the entire time as he gives his speech.
Even as people come up and congratulate him, he finds himself only wanting your attention. He couldn’t care less about everyone else.
He feels a smaller hand slip into his, and he looks to find you smiling up at him. He sets down his glass of champagne, still mildly embarrassed that the precinct threw this shindig for him.
“Congratulations, Sean.” You whisper, and he hides a smile, but you still catch the twitch of his lips, and your smile widens.
He’s about to say something, but you are both interrupted.
“Is this your spouse?” Hank Griffin, homicide detective, and one of the most senior staff at the department. He’s followed by the newer homicide detective and his new work partner, Nick Burkhardt. Sean huffs out a dry laugh and shakes his head,
“Nothing like that. They’re a childhood friend, that’s all.” He says, and Hank nods, not entirely convinced.
Why was everyone doing that when he introduced you? Hell, even Wu didn’t seem to believe him.
Later, Sean spies you chatting with Nick as you raid the dessert table. You’re polite, and he feels his heart clench as Nick says something to make you laugh. Feathers shift down your hairline like they did whenever you half-woged, and he sees Nick’s face drop, but he hides the expression by the time you look up from your sweets. And that makes the clenched feeling in Sean’s heart twist more.
Was he a Grimm?
He’d have to look into this more.
Tumblr media
Sean, ever the gentleman, walks you to your car after the celebration of his promotion. You, feeling adventurous, slip your hand into his and swing them back and forth ever so slightly.
Surprisingly, he doesn’t complain. He even squeezes your hand.
“I just wanted to say congratulations again.” You say as he opens your car door. You squeeze his hand once more, and he offers a quick quirk of his lips that you almost miss.
“I couldn’t have done it without you, little bird.” He says and presses a soft kiss to your knuckles. You feel your cheeks heat up and hide an embarrassed smile.
He always was the cheeky one.
Feeling a bit bold, you lean out our car window just as he leans down to presumably tell you goodbye and kiss his cheek. He freezes, eyes widening ever so slightly in shock, but he doesn’t say anything.
He remains like that as you drive away, brushing his cheek with his fingers.
You chew on your lip as you watch him disappear in your rearview mirror.
Hopefully, you didn’t mess things up by doing that.
You don’t hear from Sean for several days. And it’s making you nervous. Had you overstepped your boundaries? Had you misread the signs from all your little coffee outings?
The book in front of you failed to hold your attention as you glanced from the words on the page to the cellular device next to you. After another thirty minutes, just when you were about to give up on reading, your phone buzzed.
Buzz… buzz buzz… buzz buzz…
The book was hastily bookmarked, and you scooped up the phone and swiped right to answer the call.
“Hello?” You said, trying to seem… well… not breathless or like you were anticipating the call.
“Are you busy?” Sean asks, sounding ragged as if he had been working for three days straight.
His new promotion must be wearing him down.
“I was just reading. Is everything okay?” You ask and hear a quiet hum on the other end.
“Might I invite you to dinner tonight?” Your heart skips a beat.
Dinner… that was a step up from coffee dates.
A big step up.
You make a noise to let him know you hadn’t died at the suggestion (though you certainly felt like you were about to pass out).
“I suppose I might be free tonight. Let's say we eat at seven o’clock?” You tease him gently and hear him write something down.
“I’ll pick you up.” He says, and you can’t help but smile.
“That sounds lovely.”
Tumblr media
VIOLENCE STARTS HERE
Dinner doesn’t go as planned.
Sean’s car rumbles as he waits for you to come out of your hotel room. He had offered to let you stay with him at his new house; he had a spare bedroom after all, but you had declined. Instead, you had told him you were a big kid and could take care of yourself.
A shadow moved inside your hotel room on the second floor, and he looked up, a frown pulling his lips down. What was taking you so long? You hadn’t even responded to his text saying he had arrived. Should he call you?
He pulls up your contact and is about to press the call button when you come exploding through the window in a rain of glass and chaos.
Coincidentally, you land on the hood of his car, and his airbags deploy as you cave in the metal.
There’s someone on top of you, hands wrapped around your neck and squeezing like your life depended on it. He can see your hands going limp, and he darts from his car and draws his gun that he keeps with him at all times.
“PORTLAND PD! DON’T MOVE!” He bellows, and the person jerks their head up to look at him, eyes wild and glowing yellow.
A Mauvais Dentes.
The sabertoothed wesen leaped at him as he felt his face change in his woge.
He fired.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The man fell, his woge rippling across his skin and retracting the fangs and fur into his body until he looked like a regular man again.
Sean ran to your side, where you lay gasping on top of his car, pulling out his phone and dialing 911 as he went.
“911, what’s the location of your emergency?”
“This is Captain Sean Renard of the Portland Police Department. There’s a man who’s been killed and someone else who is gravely injured.” He started and rattled off your address, begging first responders to hurry because you looked terrible.
You had been in the middle of getting ready—a blouse stained in blood and shredded to bits, trousers, and you weren’t wearing shoes. Your throat isn’t much better. Sean can see where the Mauvais Denetes had punctured your skin, and its oozing blood at a sluggish pace. Your woge ripples under your skin and the tar-black feathers retract into your face. Your beak disappears, and when you open your eyes, they’re glassy.
“Stay with me, little bird, stay with me.” He says as he sheds his suit coat and tears it into strips to tie around your wound to hopefully staunch the bleeding.
“Sean?” You gurgle, and he hushes you,
“Don’t speak. An ambulance is on the way.” He says, and you nod once, closing your eyes again, and he listens to your breathing.
It doesn’t sound good.
He only hopes that you make it to the hospital.
Time slows. The ambulance and police arrive after what feels like hours. Blood has stained Sean’s trousers, but he doesn’t care. All that matters is you.
The first responders load you carefully into the ambulance and stop Sean before he can get in with you.
“I’m riding with them.” He snarled, and the two workers looked at each other before one stepped aside and allowed him to sit beside you. He holds your hand until they hook you up to get your vitals. You open your eyes again and wheeze,
“Sean?” You gasp, and he holds your grasping fingers.
“I’m here, little bird.” He whispers, and his heart is broken as he hears you whimper.
“Don’t leave me.” You whimper, and he stands as the ambulance rumbles into motion and presses a kiss to your forehead,
“Never.” He says and knows deep in his soul that he means it.
Because he loves you too much to let you go.

3500 Follower Celebration: Say It Again - Sean Renard x Reader (NSFW)
Tumblr media
Tagging: @kmc1989 @kabloswrld @words-and-seeds
Hitting bingo square: "I'm yours." "Say it again."
Tumblr media
It’s almost violent the way that Sean loves you. It’s a furious, rampant emotion that sears through his nerve endings as he pins you against the penthouse door. He’s still wearing his shirt but his trousers are down by his ankles, his dick buried deep inside you as he fucks you like his sanity depends on you. In a way it does, because he needs you to see how much he wants you, how deep his feelings run. You’re hitched breathing rings in his ears as you bundle his shirt in your fists, grasping at the fabric as his cock rakes over that deviant little spot inside you, the one that makes you moan like a whore.
“Do you understand how much you mean to me?” He asks you, his voice a little rough. “Do you see it?”
You tilt your head away but Sean captures your jaw, gently guiding your gaze back to his.
“Madelyn, look at me.” He whispers, his nose trailing along yours. “Look into my eyes and see that I’m yours.”
You gasp as he hits that perfect place inside of you and he holds himself there, hips rocking just a little as the pleasure begins to build to a crescendo.
“Say it again.” You breathe as his thumb ghosts over your parted lips.  “Please, I just need…”
He knows what you need. You crave the same thing that he does, security, reassurance. This whole thing tonight had started because you’d been forced to watch him with another woman, her hands on him, touching him, her lips ghosting over his skin as she whispered in his ear. He hates that he can’t be with you the way he wants to, that he can’t love as openly as a normal man could. To do so would put a target on your back and Sean, he just can’t do that, so he plays the game the same way he always has.
For both your sake and his.
“I’m yours.” He promises you, his thumb ghosting over the apple of your cheek. “For as long as you’ll have me, I always will be.”

Could you write smut of Alucard from Castlevania. Maybe light praise kink and telling the reader how well she's taking him. Definitely have Alucard eat her out and grinding against the mattress while giving head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You taste incredible
Alucard x fem!reader
Warning(s): smut (eating out), kinks involved (praise kink)
Tumblr media
"Just like that, my dear, you're taking me so well."
The long white blonde hair man would say. With a pillow that was placed under your hips, Alucard tilts your pelvis so your feet are resting comfortably on his shoulder blades. Alucard gently pushes up on your abdomen, helping himself expose the clitoris from underneath the clitoral hood. Your legs tighten around him as he lowers himself to kiss down your thigh and slowly inch your knees higher up to make sure the friction is right. Alucard works in silence for a while, then breaks into a grin when he hears you moan. His tongue traces the outer edge of your thighs, before finding your clit again and circling it. You gasp at the jolting sensation.
Alucard is gentle with everything he does. From when you first meet him. From when you first touch his bare skin as you walk around. From when you first kiss. The man's hands move smoothly and easily, as though they've done this before and he knows exactly what to do. The vampire prince wanted to award his princess for being an amazing woman with a fantastic body. Alucard wasn't very good at giving gifts, but he did want to make you happy. So he decided he could show you how much he loved you. Not just through a physical relationship, but by showing the love in your eyes every time you look at him.
You run one of your hands through his hair, feeling the silky strands against your palm. A small groan escapes your lips, and you feel yourself getting wetter with desire.
"Do you like that?" Alucard asks in between nips on your inner thigh, his intoxicating gaze looking up at you as he watched your face contort into a blissful expression, quickly nodding as he went back to work. "You're such a treasure, my love."
Your body tingles all over, goosebumps erupting all over your skin as you let out a low moan and Alucard squeezing your legs tighter, you cohuld feel his fingers work wonders on your swollen clit. Throwing your head back and letting out a loud groan, "You're doing so good, baby, I know you can pull through." You bite your lip when Alucard removes his finger from your clit, giving it gentle kisses. His breath is hot against your skin as he moves back to sucking on your clit, your moans turning louder as Alucard continues to massage your pussy. You writhe under him, "Who’s my beautiful girl?"
"M...m...me~" You moan and clutch onto the bedsheets as you watch Alucard continuing to work on you, his tongue flicking across the tip of your clit as he sucks gently. He doesn't miss a beat. It feels like you're losing your mind. Alucard was driving you crazy with pleasure. All you could think about were his fingertips moving inside of you, and the way he sucked your clit like he owned it, even when he knew it would get hard. It felt too good not to enjoy. You needed more. More stimulation. You needed him.
The rough movements you felt against yourself made you slowly come back to reality, your cloudy thoughts fading away until you realized your fiancé grinding against the bed, his eyes glazed with lust. It was only reasonable for him to pleasure himself while doing the same to his darling.
You squeal and try to sit up straight, pushing away his head, your pussy now drenched and a throbbing mess. You watched as Alucard's pupils dilate, he watches you with hungry eyes, the muscles in his jaw clenching, and the bulge in his boxers making you squirm. It looked like Alucard was ready to explode, but he couldn't restrain himself for any longer.
He moved in front of you, leaning down to capture your mouth in a heated kiss. You kissed him back, wrapping your arms around his neck as your hands caress his shoulders. This was it. This was it all you've been waiting for. You both finally had your moment after months of not being able to. "Mmh, Alucard, please… please…"
Alucard didn't even need to position yourself on the bed. Your pussy soaked and exposed, legs high up and bent, an exhausted expression on your face was all he needed.
"Take it for me, I know you can. I'm going to make sure everyone knows you're mine~"

Hello there may I request a gender who gets sugar rushes once they're on it they're just all over the place running up and down or just getting into shenanigans such as causing mischief or just being silly. Can this be with the Vox Machina and Castlevania/Nocturne.
Sure!
Masterlist 11
Alucard
He’s watching you with a half exasperated, half “they’re cute when they ramble-talk” expression
Trevor
Either he unknowingly gave you all that sugar or did it on purpose just to see how hyper you get for his amusement
Sypha
That’s it! No more sugar for you! That is, until the next time you see her and she’s just as hyper
Greta
She has to keep you from wandering off yet at the same she’s eyeing that candy too like “hmmm….maybe just one piece…”
Richter
He’s just as hyper as you, even without the candy, and encourages your antics
Dracula and Lisa
Drac himself is exasperated with your pranks and Lisa can only have so much patience before she’s like “ok that’s enough for today”
Lenore
Vampires don’t get as hyper as humans do but she thinks it’s naively cute seeing you like this, feeling a small sugar rush herself form your blood
Hector
He’s watching you flit around, trying not to laugh, but can help but burst into a fit of giggles with how you act with the Undead animals
Maria
She’s just naturally hyper and giggling like crazy seeing you high on sugar
Annette
She can’t help but laugh at some of the things you say but also tries to keep you from overdoing it on the pranks

That’s My Sister
Relationship: Sean Renard x Reader, Monroe x Monroe!Reader
Fandom: Grimm

Summary: Bringing home your significant other for the holidays is always stressful. Even more so when you are a wesen, with another wesen coming, and a Grimm to top it all off!
Tumblr media
Love is like death, it must come to us all, but to each his own unique way and time, sometimes it will be avoided, but never can it be cheated, and never will it be forgotten.
The spice shop was gorgeous this time of year. Smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, and juniper with just a hint of pine filled the room. Lights strung up along the banners and shelves. There were not enough to distract or take away from the business, but it added just enough of Yuletide cheer to the area.
“Rosalee? Are you in?” Someone called out into the shop. She looked around in wonder as she waited for the person to appear.
“Hey, it’s my favorite Monroe. What can I do for you?” Said Fuchsbau emerged from the back, dressed in a cozy cardigan.
“Don’t let my brother hear you say that,” the Blutbad teased, “but seriously. I’m looking for a gift for my boyfriend and was wondering if maybe I could poke around and see what I could find?” Her timid tone, and now shy demeanor intrigued Rosalee as she watched the woman.
“Oh. Your mysterious boyfriend that we have yet to meet. I’m sure we could find something. Tell me a little bit about him.” Breathing a sigh of relief, the Blutbad relaxed and went back to her usual self.
“Well, he’s super sweet and oddly loaded. Which makes it difficult to buy him a gift because if he wants something, he already has it. I just- I want this to be good because it’s our first Christmas. But he does like tea when he’s not working to wind down. So maybe something to do with that?” Her rambling encouraged the other woman to begin scouring the shelves for something that might peek her interest.
“Is he wesen? Just incase I give him something poisonous.” Rosalee stopped to look at the sister in her shop.
“He’s half zauberbiest, if that helps.” She offered, to which Rosalee confirmed that it did, in fact, help in her search. But all the while the Fuchsbau’s thoughts were racing as she tried to think of anyone who was half zauberbiest. It was not a very common type of wesen, especially if he’s half.
“Aha! This might do the trick,” she pulled something from a shelf in a glass container, “it’s a calming blend. Rose, chamomile, lavender, mint, and green tea. It’s delicious and should help calm him down from stressful days.” The other woman’s face perked up, and she excitedly followed Rosalee to the counter, where she began to dispense an amount to take with her.
“So this boyfriend of yours, are you bringing him to dinner tomorrow night?” Rosalee tried to sound nonchalant, but her curiosity was eating away at her.
“Maybe. We’ve only been dating a few months. I’m just worried about my brother going off on him.” She pulled out her wallet as she continued to speak.
“I mean, the last time I was dating someone, Roe went full Blutbad on the guy and I could never get a date after that. This is the first guy I’ve dated in years, and I really like him. I don’t want to mess that up.” Taking to leaning against the counter and watching the Fuchsbau measure out the tea and square it away, she continued her lament. Rosalee looked up at her future sister-in-law.
“Look, I get it with your brother. He can be a bit intense. But I will keep him on his best behavior. Is that why you don’t want to introduce them?” She asked, ringing up her family discount for the tea.
“Yeah. That last guy, he looked at me like I was a freak after my brother woged at him. Haven’t been able to get over that stare since. And then he told every other wesen at our school to stay away from me and my ‘psycho’ brother. Never wanted to hurt a Hundjäger so badly in my life.” Placing some bills on the counter, she grabbed the package of tea from the woman, who held her hand gently.
“Bring him to dinner tomorrow. Juliette and I will make sure everyone is on their best behavior. There won’t be a repeat of that.” Rosalee reassured the Blutbad in her care. The other wesen nodded, and placed a hand on top of the other.
“I will, Rosalee.” They both smiled, and let each other go. As the female Blutbad left her shop, the Fuchsbau could not help but let her mind wander as she began to clean up a little bit. Did she even have zauberbiest come into the shop? It’s so hard to tell sometimes, let alone if they are half. All at once, Rosalee had a revelation. She knew who it was.
“Oh no.”
Meanwhile, in the precinct Nick watched from his desk as his captain seemed preoccupied with his phone. It was an unusual behavior which is why it drew the young man’s attention.
“What are you staring at so intensely, Nick?” Hank asked from his desk right next to him.
“It’s the captain. He’s been on his phone more and more today.” The detective pointed out.
“Maybe he’s making plans for Christmas dinner tomorrow night. It’s not a crime for him to be on his phone to make plans Nick.” He tried to explain the behavior away, but Burkhardt shook his head.
“See that?” He called attention to a certain quirk of the face. “He’s smiling. There’s no one in his life that he smiles genuinely for anymore. I think he’s got a girlfriend.” Nick said finally in disbelief.
“If anyone needs a good woman to keep him grounded, it’s definitely the captain. Just be happy for once and don’t profile the man.” Griffin shook his head and turned back to his files, prompting his partner to follow suit. But their attention was called away again as the captain’s office door was flung open.
“Where are you going?” Hank asked, watching the man move fast; it was as fast as he would move if they were on a case.
“Oh, I need to go pick up something for someone. You two should go home, and enjoy Christmas Eve with your families. I’ll see you later.” And with that, he was gone. The two detectives sat there, dumbfounded.
“I’ll be damned; the captain has a lady.” Hank muttered to himself, stopping his work for a moment. Checking the time, Nick stretched his back while standing from the chair.
“Alright, you heard the man. Let’s get out of here. Hey, see you at dinner tomorrow night?” Burkhardt asked of his partner. Griffin nodded and followed suit; both men grabbing their jackets from the back of their chairs in order to leave.
“You know it. I’m not one to turn down a free meal.” Hank joked, stepping out into the parking lot of the precinct. The men said their goodbyes and made their ways home.
In the Calvert-Monroe household though, a full blown argument was about to boil over. They had been going at it since the subject was brought up at dinner. It had lasted from the appetizer, all the way to clean up before dessert.
“All I’m saying is that I would like to meet her boyfriend before he comes over. What if he’s a lowen?” Monroe complained, handing washed dishes to his girlfriend.
“Do you honestly think your sister would date a lowen?” Rosalee countered, drying off the plate to stack.
“You’re right. Still,” he continued, “I just don’t want her to date someone that’s just going to break her heart. I mean, all the guys in high school she liked were totally not for her.” The Blutbad paused for a moment, and rested his soapy wet hands against the sink. Setting down the towel, Rosalee wrapped her arms around her boyfriend and cradled his face.
“She really likes this guy, Monroe. Don’t go over board. Besides, he’s not the worst choice for her.” Turning back to the task at hand, it took the man a second too long to process what the Fuchsbau had said.
“Wait, do you know who she’s dating?” Monroe questioned, watching Rosalee’s face take on an air of faux innocence.
“Maybe. Maybe not. She didn’t explicitly tell me who it was. I just worked it out from what little she did tell me.” She began to place her dishes away, but it seemed that Monroe was not yet done.
“Come on, who is it? Who is she dating?” But the woman said nothing.
“Rosalee.” He growled out in a warning tone, to which she finally faced her boyfriend and rested her hands on her hips.
“The only thing I will say, is that you have met him before. That is it. Now, cake?” Rosalee went to retrieve the chocolate cake from the fridge, leaving Monroe there in the kitchen.
“I’m gonna be kept up all night now.” He complained, but followed his girlfriend into the dining room to have dessert.
The next morning, was a morning of rest. Christmas had come, and everyone was preparing for the festivities that would soon come. Sneaking out of her shared bedroom, a Blutbad began to make breakfast for her lover that was still asleep in their bed. It still astounded her that she could even call this place, this bed, this man, her’s.
Vegan sausages were being fried, toast, pancakes, and several smaller side dishes covered the counter in the kitchen. It continued to shock her at how far vegan alternatives had come as she put the fake eggs in the pan to scramble. As she cooked, two strong bare arms wrapped around her waist. A kiss was placed to her head from behind as the mystery arms relaxed.
“Good morning. It’s not often that I get breakfast made for me.” The voice grumbled out, still thick with sleep.
“Who says this is for you?” She teased. Making sure that nothing would burn, she turned briefly in the man’s arms to come face to face with him. Sage green eyes gazed lovingly into her own, but shut momentarily as they met for a kiss. Her lips molded to her own, and reluctantly she pulled away from the beautiful shirtless man before her, in favor of ensuring their breakfast would not be wasted.
“It’s almost done. Want to go ahead and start putting food on the table?” One last kiss was pressed to her head, along with a squeeze at her waist, and he was off. Soon, the whole table was littered with food.
“Thank you for making this.” He commented genuinely, holding her hand over the steaming food. Suddenly, she hoped up as if a light bulb went off in her head, and she made her way to the kitchen. When she came out yet again, a mug was in her hands this time around.
“What is that?” Came his question, taking the mug and maneuvering it next to his other cup of coffee.
“It’s one of your Christmas presents. Try it.” Sitting down, she watched with bated breath as he brought the mug to his lips, and took a tentative sip. His face lit up and he eagerly took another sip.
“This is delicious. What is it?” Another question, and he was reaching for her hand once more.
“It’s a tea blend from a friend’s shop. I thought it’d be nice to help you wind down after work.” She explained, happy that she was able to get one of two correct.
“This is wonderful. I genuinely appreciate this. Let’s eat though. You went through all this work.” And with that, they dug into the food that littered the table before them. It was not too much longer before they sat themselves on the couch, and enjoyed each others company with presents to either side.
“Here you go.” The man placed a rather heavy wrapped present in her lap, and watched her with eager eyes. She tore into the paper, and leveled her boyfriend with a look as she saw what she had.
“Really, Sean?” Her tone was dry, and she tried to fight the smile coming onto her face. However, with her boyfriend sporting one himself, it was rather hard.
“What? You could always use another book, and I thought you might enjoy the stories.” Said man tried to explain away.
“You gave me a collection of brothers Grimm fairytales!” She exclaimed.
“And you’re not wanting to read them?” He leveled her with another look, which made her shrink down into herself.
“Yes. I’m going to read them.” Muttering under her breath, she placed the book to her side and grasped the other box that was next to her. She placed it in her lover’s lap, and awaited his reaction. Sean gently unwrapped the present, and opened the box that was in his hands. His face dropped in surprise, and his eyes danced over the present he had.
“Do you like it?” Timidly, she inquired. There was no telling what his reaction was going to be. Sean’s hand reached in and pulled out the small object that was awaiting him. It was a ring. Tiny and unassuming, which described his lover but that was not what caught his attention. It was what was on the inside of the ring. An inscription dated September 23rd of that year; their anniversary.
“You don’t like it? It’s fine if you don’t. I just thought maybe you would. I can take it back though if you don’t want it. I’m sure I could at least get store-” she never finished her rambling, because her boyfriend had surged forward and captured her lips in his. They remained locked in their embrace for who knows how long, but she was pushed against the couch in the midst of it. Alas, they pulled away for some much needed oxygen.
“Do you like it?” She repeated her inquiry.
“I love it.” He replied, breathlessly. Helping her back up, Sean allowed her to slip the ring on to his left pinky finger. On the outside, it just looked like a simple silver band, but the fact that he knew that there was that inscription inside made it feel like a known secret. And it was all his.
“This is funny actually.” Sean reached behind him and found the box next to him once more. She was confused as to what he was talking about, and took the box gingerly from his hands. Opening, she let out a small chuckle as to what was inside.
“Now, now, you still have to get my brother on your side.” Once again, she was teasing him. He chuckled as well, but pulled the ring from the box.
“It’s a promise ring.” Sean slipped the ring on to her right ring finger. The emerald in the center, with the silver surrounding it instantly drew her eyes to the sparkling stone.
“This is going to turn some heads at dinner tonight.” Her mind could not help but think about what was going to happen.
“I’ll be right by your side.” Drawing her into his arms, Sean pressed a kiss to her head, and cradled her close.
A few hours later, the couple was dressed up and ready to leave. One last spray of perfume and the jewelry was placed on her body before they left for the evening. Her leg could not stop bouncing as they neared their destination. Sean reached over and held her thigh in hi grasp, which allowed her to calm down just enough. He parked on the side of the road and helped his girlfriend safely exit the car onto the icy sidewalks. They walked up to the door with stained glass, and she took a deep breath.
“You can still back out, you know?” She tried to tell her boyfriend, but he just held her by the shoulders and looking into her eyes.
“I’m not scared by meeting your family. It’s going to be fine.” Sean tried to reassure her.
“Alright. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” And with that, she knocked. Just a moment later, the door opened and revealed a festive looking Fuchsbau.
“You made it!” Rosalee cheered, hugging her boyfriend’s sister close. Letting go, she turned to face the man standing next to her.
“Captain.” She greeted politely, and held out her hand for him to shake.
“Rosalee. It’s good to see you again.” This confused the Blutbad standing between them.
“You know each other?” She wondered aloud. Renard and Rosalee looked at each other.
“I think you’ll find a lot of the people here have met each other at least once.” Rosalee responded cryptically. She pulled them in and out of the cold, before taking their coats to their spare room. The couple wandered through the house and found where the rest of the group was hanging around. She got to watch Sean’s eyes take in her brother’s Christmas decorations that littered the room. The sheer amount of tinsel, lights, and fake snow that was around the house was enough to make even the most Christmasy person take a step back. There was a pause as everyone stopped to stare at the couple.
“You’ve got to be joking.” Monroe stated, setting down his beer. Nick, Juliette, and Hank all turned to face where the Blutbad was staring.
“Captain? Nice to see you?” Nick drawled out confused, and followed his friend’s motion.
“Roe, everyone, this is Sean. But I’m guessing that you all know each other.” She was looking around at the rest of the guests.
“Oh, you’re dying now.” Rounding the corner at an incredible speed, there were shouts as Monroe grabbed the collar of Sean’s more casual sweater she had convinced him to wear instead of his suit. He shoved the zauberbiest against a wall, narrowly missing some decorations as he woged. By this point, Nick and Hank were trying desperately to pull him off of the man, while Juliette and Rosalee were holding and shielding the other Blutbad.
“What are you playing at? What do you want that you feel the need to date my sister?” Monroe growled out, eyes no longer human but red and black and unearthly.
“I am not dating her for a plan. I love her for her.” Sean held up his hands in surrender.
“Roe, let him go.” His sister growled, stepping out from behind the women. The man in question turned his head and let the woge fade back into his skin
“This man is not who he says he is. He’s a royal, little sis. He only told you he loves you to find a way to fit into his plans. Whatever they are.” The longer he spoke, the angrier his sister became.
“I know he’s half-royal, Roe. But that doesn’t mean that Sean doesn’t love me. Now get off of him.” Fully woge out, she grabbed her brother’s arm and threw him back enough to create some distance. The three men that were currently in front of Sean were replaced by one angry Blutbad woman. Her woge disappeared as soon as it came, and she checked in on her boyfriend.
“It’s been lovely seeing everyone, but if this is how it’s going to be, we’ll be leaving.” She said after whispering to Sean for a few moments. It shocked everyone in the room. Rosalee went to reluctantly grab their coats, while everyone else stared at Monroe with pointed glares.
“Wait!” The Blutbad called just before the couple left the party. Sean was helping her into her coat when they paused. He was entirely following her lead on this, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable or unwanted.
“I’m- I’m sorry, okay? You’re my sister and I’m always going to be protective of you. But you are an adult so I need to accept your choice. I’ll tone it down just, please, stay for dinner?” He was keeping his eyes on his sister, who returned with a less believable stare.
“You’re allowed to ask him three questions about our relationship, and three about himself. That’s it.” She replied, allowing Sean to once again, help her out of her coat. Rosalee took it back and happily went to set them on the bed once more. Monroe pulled his sister into a bear hug in the foyer of his home. When they pulled away, Sean stepped up to properly greet the Blutbad.
“You hurt my sister, I’ll break my pledge.” Monroe stared the half zauberbiest dead in the eye as he shook his hand. Renard brought out a smirk, and shook the man’s hand firmly.
“I’m slowly starting to realize the amount of people who will hurt me if I hurt her, including her.” He replied smoothly. The couple were pulled back into the fray easily. Everyone was laughing and eating, and in general, just having a great time. Looking at each other over their glasses of wine, and plates of food, Sean gave her a small wink, and held her hand. With the other, he thumbed a small velvet box the was in the pocket of his slacks. Perhaps next Christmas she would be more than a girlfriend. He needs to get through to her brother first.

Y/N: Stop looking down at me.
Sean: I am taller than you, of course I look down at you.
Wu: Maybe you better put some inches in her than.
Y/N (blushing): Would you stop hitting on me on his behalf?
Sean: I am perfectly capable of ‘hitting on’ Y/N without your help.
Wu: You two are taking forever. I’m trying to speed up the process.

infatuation. ( sean renard x reader )
Tumblr media
gif belongs to me
It felt like he was in a lust-filled daze. He could never predict when he would feel a sudden pull to Juliette. When the fog lifted he could think for himself again, and regret churned his gut as he thought of you. You were always his first thought afterward.
When you found out about Wesen after seeing your work rival woge, Sean was furious when you came to his office, standing up when he saw how freaked out you were and told him what happened. A detective tried to come in to speak to him but Sean sent him away and locked his door, preventing further interruptions.
"I know it sounds crazy - I know! But I know what I saw. H-His face changed right in front of me."
Sean sat on the edge of his desk while you sat on his chair, telling him how your work rival had a personal interest in seeing a man you were prosecuting for several robberies, walk free. When you told him you weren't dropping the case, he woged and you were terrified when he said he could make you change your mind. He tried to grab you and after struggling for a few minutes, you hit him over the head with the desk lamp before fleeing your office and driving to the station to speak to your boyfriend.
He placed a hand on your shoulder and said he was taking you to his place, knowing that if you went home you were vulnerable. "I'll drive." He sent you a small smile, "Okay?"
You nodded, exhaling shakily as you stood up. Sean got his jacket and led you out of the station to his car. The tension in your shoulders eased a little as you stepped into his apartment, knowing your rival had no way of finding you. Despite dating for eight months, your relationship with Sean was kept private. When you went to the station while working with his detectives on a case, you kept things purely professional - today was your first slip-up.
"I'm sorry for coming to your office I-I should've just called." You turned to him as you removed your jacket.
Sean shook his head, taking your jacket to hang it up by the door. "I'm glad you came to me." He sighed, "I have something to tell you as well."
You were left stunned that evening when he revealed he was a Zauberbiest. You listened as he told you about his family, his mother, and his royal status. You rose from where you were sitting beside him on the sofa, using the coffee table to put distance between you, running a hand through your hair, and began to pace the floor.
"Zauberbiest." You mispronounced.
"Zauberbiest." He corrected with a slow nod, waiting patiently as you tried to absorb the new information.
You halted a few moments later, spinning on your heel to meet his gaze. "D-Do you, you know, change too?"
Sean nodded.
You put a hand on your forehead as you resumed pacing, laughing nervously. "I can't believe this is happening." You paused when you saw him stand and his eyes searched your features for any sign you were afraid of him. You were apprehensive, but not afraid.
"He may try again tomorrow. I want you to stay here until I handle it." He spoke gently as he approached you as if you were a wide-eyed doe, not wanting to spook you further.
"You think he'll try to..." You trailed off when he nodded, tilting your head up to hold his gaze as he stood in front of you. You wished it was all a bad dream, feeling the instinctive need to seek comfort from him, but you couldn't believe you had dated for so long and had no idea who he really was, so you kept your feet rooted to the ground. You blinked away your tears, feeling overwhelmed by the day's events and revelations, and swallowed the lump in your throat as your eyes took in his features. "Can you show me?"
His expression was hesitant, but after a few moments, he tilted his head from side to side, hearing you gasp when you saw him woge. A patch on his right side became rotted and decayed, affecting his right eye, and noticed another patch on his left side, near his mouth was also affected but the rest of him remained human. Your posture stiffened for a moment until you met his gaze, revealing his discomfort at you seeing him like this. You raised your hand but Sean grabbed your wrist, stopping you when you tried to touch him. He reverted to his human form and eased his grip on your wrist.
"I don't look like the others because I am a hybrid." He broke the tense silence. "A full Zauberbiest or Hexenbiest will change completely."
You placed your hand on his chest and stepped forward, resting your head on his chest. Sean held you in his arms, sighing when he felt how relaxed you were in his embrace as you placed your arms around his waist, clutching onto the back of his shirt, and pressed his lips to your hair.
The wesen was arrested the next day for assault. Breaking and entering was added to the list when Sean learned he had broken into your apartment trying to find you, creating a mess in the process. Since then your relationship went through a lot of changes as you became more involved in the wesen world, a lot of challenges along the way, but you always got through them and while many people would've turned tail and left a long time ago, you remained by his side. More loyal than anyone he ever knew. And Sean knew that if he was less selfish, he would end things. You knew how ruthless he could be, and Sean knew you deserved way better than him, but he wasn't strong enough to give you up. Instead, he put a ring on your finger and promised to love you forever.
Ever since he told you about wesen and his family, Sean silently vowed to always be honest with you. Whether it was one of his schemes or his past, he was an open book to you. Only you.
When he woke Juliette from the coma spell Adalind had cast on her, he hadn't anticipated the side effects it would have on them both. It was an obsession, a sexual attraction that he wanted to break free from. The first time they kissed it took him completely off guard and he felt like an observer rather than feeling in control of his own body. When they pulled away he left, confused and revolted at feeling like he wasn't in control. He decided it was a one-off, and wasn't worth risking you throwing your engagement ring at him over a moment of madness.
He expected the pull drawing them closer to go away because he wanted it to. When Monroe caught them kissing, he realized that something was taking over them and researched the awakening spell he used to find answers on how to end it, even reaching out to people he knew to find them.
You were working late in your office, preparing to meet a defense lawyer in a judge's chambers when they tried to argue the evidence was obtained unlawfully - a stall tactic that was a major waste of your time. Still, you needed to prepare a rebuttal.
Sean was sitting on the couch when he suddenly felt the desire to be with Juliette. He tossed his book aside and stood up, but halted in his steps before he could reach the chair where he had draped his jacket when he came home from work. The distance made his gut churn and the next thing he knew he was inside her house, Nick was gone and they were kissing like they didn't need to breathe. She pushed his jacket off his shoulders and he tossed it aside. Juliette put her hands on his chest and pushed him against a wall as they kissed.
"No!" He put his hands on her arms and pushed her away. "Leave me alone!"
"I can't."
Despite his mind screaming for him to fight, his hands rose to her cheeks on their own accord and reignited their kiss. An image of you sitting up in bed that morning appeared, smiling at him over your shoulder seductively as you said, "We both know that if we don't get up now we won't leave this bed all day."
In a moment of lucidity, Sean pushed Juliette away, "No!"
She reacted by slapping him so hard that his head whipped to the side. She began to walk away and Sean darted forward, grabbing her arm to make her look at him.
"Don't you understand? You're going to have to try harder than that."
"I don't want it to stop." She replied quietly.
She reached for him and soon he was laying on top of her on the dining table. She pulled back briefly to tear open his shirt before reigniting their kiss. Sean stepped back when she bit his lower lip, groaning in pain, feeling the blood with his thumb. "You bit me!"
"Get out of here!" Juliette yelled, shoving him away and he crashed into a side table beside the sofa, knocking over the lamp.
"No!" When she walked by him he grabbed her arm, pulling her shirt in the process as she turned and the force had popped off four buttons on her shirt. "This has to stop."
"I know." She kissed him hotly, moaning against his mouth before snatching his pistol from his holster. Sean looked at the redhead when he realized what she had done, and fell to his knees when she slapped him with it, causing his head to bleed as he groaned in pain.
She tossed the gun aside, feeling the overwhelming urge to kiss him again, "I'm so sorry."
Sean pushed her aside when she knelt in front of him. "No!" He stood up and started lashing out at his surroundings. "Fuck!" Images of your teary eyes weakened the hold over him and he walked to a sideboard, swiping his hands at photographs and two lamps that were on display, causing them to crash to the floor, breaking the glass and ceramic. He tried to walk further away but crashed into the doorway, leaning against it as he groaned in pain, feeling as if his entire body was being compressed, trying to force him back to her.
He held his head as he staggered backward, "Argh! This is insane!"
He breathed heavily as he turned to Juliette who was sitting on a chair in the living room, equally conflicted and distraught. She fired several rounds around him, aiming at the walls and the ceiling and Sean felt the side effects of the awakening spell fade as he ducked, kneeling on the ground. He met her teary gaze as she lowered the gun, looking as exhausted and pained as he felt.
He needed to find a way to end this once and for all.
But he knew he couldn't hide it from you anymore.
"What's happening to us?" She whispered.
"I don't know."
Hauling himself to his feet, Sean collected his gun and his jacket before leaving the house and Juliette behind. He climbed into his car and tossed his gun and coat onto the passenger seat, sighing as he rested his head on the headrest afterward. He beat his hands against the steering wheel in frustration for a few minutes, pushing his fists into his eyes, chest tightening as he pictured your reaction when he told you about his and Juliette's sudden infatuation with each other.
You weren't long home from your office and were in the bathroom when he arrived. You dried your face after washing away the makeup and turned to your fiancée when he stood in the doorway. You took notice of his torn open shirt that he had tried to button up but couldn't because the buttons had broken off. "Hey, I was wondering where you were." Your smile faltered at his expression and his appearance.
"We need to talk."
Your eyebrows rose and you nodded slowly, following him to the bedroom down the hall. Sean removed his holster and placed it in the drawer of the bedside table next to his side of the bed. You wrapped your arms around yourself anxiously when he sighed, turning to you with guilt in his eyes.
"Where were you?" You spoke up.
"At Nick's house. With Juliette."
You nodded slowly, "And Nick?"
He shook his head, closing his eyes. "Ever since she woke up from the coma we've felt drawn to one another." Your eyes dropped to the carpet as he continued, "Something happened when she woke up, I don't know what yet, but...I feel this sudden urge to be with her. It's this powerful attraction and -"
"How many times?" You cut him off, meeting his gaze with tears burning your vision.
"Three. Including tonight." He answered.
You nodded slowly, rolling your tongue as your gaze returned to the carpet briefly before you met his gaze when he spoke.
"We kissed. That's it. I tried to fight it off, but -"
You hastily wiped a tear that fell down your cheek but it was followed close behind by more and Sean moved toward you, halting when you held up a trembling hand, unable to look at him.
"When I tried to fight it, there was this searing pain throughout my body." He continued. "I didn't want to go over there tonight. I don't even remember driving to her house. I need you to know that I-I...It isn't me. Something is forcing us together. I have asked around about the awakening spell I used to wake her up, but no one knows why we've become infatuated with each other."
"Why didn't you tell me before?" You asked quietly.
"I thought it was a one-off moment of insanity. When Monroe walked in on us, it was as if I was in control again and I knew that it was some outside influence and I started asking around to find out how to stop it. I don't want her. Something takes control of me, and I want to fix it."
You closed your eyes as you wiped your tears away, exhaling a shaky breath. You always knew him to be very controlled. Hell, you hadn't heard him raise his voice in the entirety of your relationship.
"So you think it's the spell?" You met his gaze and he sighed, relieved you weren't packing your bags and throwing your ring at him. If the roles were reversed he doubted he could have been so calm. The thought of you with someone else was enough to make him volatile.
"It has to be."
You nodded softly. "Does Nick know?"
"He left work a while ago and wasn't home. She must've told him."
You ran your hands through your hair, ruffling it a little as you tried to fend off more tears. It was time to think as if it was a case you were presenting, and not with emotion. "Okay, okay..." You noticed the blood on his lip and left temple as your eyes took in his disheveled appearance. "What happened?"
"She hit me with my gun." He motioned to his temple, "And while we were kissing she -"
"Right." You cleared your throat. "Take a shower and we'll figure out where to go from here."
Sean sighed at the thought of finally washing off the feel of Juliette's touch and stepped forward when you headed out of the bedroom. Deciding not to reach out to you when you actively avoided looking at his ripped-open shirt, Sean went to the bathroom while you went to the kitchen to make coffee.
More tears fell at the thought of them together, but you knew that if there was a way to stop it, you would help him.
After his shower, he joined you at the dining table and knew it was a strategic move to keep some distance between you after his revelation. By now, if the roles had been reversed, the man would have been tortured and his dead body disposed of, but you trusted him and while he had done some questionable things and didn't deserve your love or your loyalty, he was thankful for it.
Sean had told you about the Heart Purification Potion he had a Hexenbiest brew so he could wake Juliette. You were hesitant at first but you knew Nick well professionally, working together during his cases that went to trial. You had coached him for the stand many times and whenever your paths crossed outside of work you always stopped to catch up with each other and knew that if your fiancée could save his girlfriend, you couldn't stop him. If it was Sean in a comatose state, you would do anything to save him. You cared about Nick, and while you were wary of any Wesen who wasn't your fiancée, you set your feelings aside and hoped that everything would work out in the end with no bad effects.
"You should speak to Catherine. She did make the potion." You told him.
"I tried. Soon as I mentioned side effects she's been avoiding me. Don't worry I've got some people looking for her."
Despite the situation you found yourself in, your lips twitched in the faintest of smiles as you looked down at the table while you recalled how Wu and other officers had apprehended the Wesen who threatened you. When Sean told you he was arrested, you asked how they found the Wesen and he explained he had sent some people to draw him into the open where Wu apprehended him.
At three am you couldn't fight how exhausted you both were and in four hours you would be getting ready for work, so you took your mugs to the sink and headed to your bedroom. You climbed into bed and glanced at him as he walked to his side of the bed before lying down on your back, hands resting on your stomach as he lay next to you, mirroring your position.
He broke the silence that had taken over the apartment since you agreed to call it a night. "Thank you." You turned your head to look at him, "For never abandoning me even when you probably should have."
You let a small smile form on your lips, "Well, you do leave mugs next to the sink,"
Sean chuckled and you turned on your side, lifting his left arm so you could rest your head on his chest and he put his right hand on your waist as he brought you closer. You smiled serenely, shoulders rising and falling in a silent content sigh.
As silence filled the room he recalled the day you met. Hank and Nick were struggling with a kidnapping case and the lawyer assigned to their prime suspect was trying to poke holes in their arrest, but Sean had been there and knew it was all lawful. You were stuck in traffic and Wu led you to the Captain's office where the four men were growing heated, frustration boiling over in the cops.
You thanked Wu when he opened the door, announcing your name to Sean who thanked you for coming to the station so late. You recognized the suspect's lawyer, having dealt with him twice before, and Bauer was known to grasp at straws. You thanked Nick when he stood up to give you his chair, picking up where they had left off.
"He claims you injured him during the arrest."
"Were the cuffs too tight?" You jested with a smirk and a raise of your eyebrow.
"It's a serious allegation." Bauer continued.
You looked at Nick and Hank, "Did you make sure he didn't hit his head as he got into the car?"
"Of course." Nick played along.
You looked at Bauer talking before he could, "If he wants to make a complaint, it's well within your client's rights. Just as it is the department's right to provide statements for review and a judge to decide whether he is full of bullcrap."
Nick and Hank poorly hid their amusement while Sean observed the interaction with interest, the only sign he was amused was his eyes which you quickly realized you could get lost in.
"I would be careful if I were you. This can get very ugly, very fast."
You watched as Bauer stood up and walked out, turning to the two detectives. "I'd like to hear this allegation for myself."
Hank nodded, "I'll get him into interrogation."
You thanked him as you stood up and he walked out. You held your briefcase in front of you with both hands as you looked at Sean, "Is there any merit to the complaint?"
"None."
You nodded, looking at Nick, "He'll make a lot of noise but once I read you and your partner's reports I'll have a better idea of where to go from here. He will argue that you should be benched in the meantime, but that decision is up to your Captain." You turned your head to meet Sean's gaze, the corner of your lips lifting, "So I'd be extra kind to him for the next few days."
Hank opened the door, announcing that the suspect was ready.
"Thank you." Sean said, drawing your attention back to him, "I know how the traffic can be at this hour."
"I never turn down the opportunity to mess with the defense."
Nick and Hank's expressions were comical as they raised their eyebrows when you sent their Captain a wink before the two detectives led the way to the interrogation room.
A few days later when you returned to the station, alone in his office as you discussed the case, he invited you to dinner.
You sensed he was getting lost in his thoughts and lifted your head from his chest. "What are you thinking about?"
He grazed his fingers along your cheek and your eyelids fluttered, a smile forming on your lips when he began to recall your first date. You had shared a bottle of wine throughout dinner, and after you finished eating you ordered drinks, losing track of time. You talked about your jobs, and since you were new to Portland, you asked about the city, and he asked about your family. And when you asked about his family, he told you he wasn't close to them. But soon he would reveal the truth.
Sean got a cab to take you home and not wanting the night to end, you invited him inside for a drink. He was as enamored with you now as he was then, and he doubted there would be a time when he wouldn't be.
He placed a hand on your cheek, moving his left hand to your back. "I love you."
The next night you found yourself standing in a spice shop with a Blutbad and a Fuchsbau as the latter prepared the Infatuation cure. Sean had asked you to meet him there and as you learned more from Rosalee about the potion, you were worried for your fiancée when she told you that it was the only way to stop Sean and Juliette from killing each other. Sean had told you about Nick being a Grimm the same night he revealed he was a Zauberbiest and to see the two together, followed by Juliette, was an odd sight. But from what you had learned from Monroe and Rosalee, no stranger than a Grimm being friends with Wesens.
You leaned in to kiss him with a tenderness that always left him craving more. "I love you too."
You closed your eyes when he brought you closer, sighing contently when you rested your head on his shoulder, and throughout the night, he didn't loosen his hold on you, afraid that he'd wake up to find you were gone.
You sent him a small smile when he stood beside you. "Everything okay?" You whispered.
"It's about to be."
You weren't often affectionate around people you knew, but given the dire circumstances, you no longer cared and placed your hand on his chest as you leaned into his side. If he was surprised, he didn't show it, nor did he care as his hand rose to rest on your back instinctively.
Nick looked at the two of you. After meeting his Captain at the cabin, the two had fought before he saw Sean woge for the first time. His surprise granted Sean time to express his regret about Marie's death and that "nobody wants this thing with Juliette to end more than I do". Nick was stunned when Sean tossed him the key Marie gave him. When he returned to the spice shop to find you waiting with Monroe and Rosalee, he understood why and wondered how he had never suspected that Renard was the fiancée you had spoken about briefly when he congratulated you on your engagement when he first saw your ring.
Once the cure was finished Rosalee poured the mixture into a glass and you grimaced when you saw the white, lumpy concoction. You knew it would taste worse than it looked.
Nick didn't hesitate to pick up the glass and gulped down the cure, wiping his mouth with his sleeve. He took a deep breath and glanced at all of you. "That was it?"
"No." You looked at Sean when he answered.
A few seconds ticked by and you gasped when Nick hunched over in pain.
"That's it."
Nick knocked over a chair and Juliette rushed to his side when he fell to the ground, struggling to breathe.
"Nick!" She knelt beside the Grimm while everyone gathered around him. "What is happening?"
You frowned when you saw his skin turning red as Sean's had when he took the potion Catherine made.
"It's part of the process he has to go through," Rosalee explained.
"Nick, please hold on." Juliette held his hand and your frown deepened as you stood next to your fiancée, subconsciously holding his hand, placing your left hand on his arm. Sensing your worry, he squeezed your hand reassuringly.
"I don't understand any of this. What process?" Juliette asked the Fuchsbau.
"Juliette, he's gonna be okay," Monroe assured her as he crouched beside Rosalee who was dabbing Nick's head.
"He doesn't look okay!" Juliette raised her voice, her eyes darting around the group, and you understood her concern the most, having lost decades of your life when Sean collapsed. "We have to call 911!"
"They can't help him," Sean told her.
"This is crazy. You're all crazy!"
"It's the only way to stop what's going on between you and him," Monroe replied, motioning to Sean, "You didn't explain to her what we have to do?" The Blutbad asked him.
"How do I explain something I don't fully understand?"
"How certain are we that this is going to work? I'm dropping to seventy percent." You bit the inside of your cheek anxiously.
"I'm calling an ambulance." Juliette got off the floor and Monroe stopped her from getting her handbag.
"No, no, no. You can't do that. Juliette, listen. You know, I'm Nick's friend, right? And I would never do anything to hurt him. He asked you here for a reason. Nick is doing this for you."
You looked at your fiancée, "Do you feel anything?"
"Boredom, mainly." He replied, and you sent him an unimpressed look. "No, it's not doing anything."
You frowned as you turned your head to look at the Blutbad as he tried to calm down the concerned redhead. "I know. A lot of this we're never gonna fully be able to explain."
"Tell me the part you can explain."
"The cat -" Monroe began but she walked away, and Sean left your side to crouch beside Nick, starting to believe that his solution was less of a definite cure and more of a hopeful one.
"You've been through this." Rosalee directed at Sean who nodded. "How long did it take to come out of it?"
You crossed your arms and anxiously bit your thumbnail.
"I don't know. I didn't even know where I was until I woke up." Sean sighed, turning his head to meet your gaze.
You moved to kneel next to him and looked at the Fuchsbau who looked at you hopefully. "I got home and he was already..." You gestured to Nick, swallowing thickly. "I tried shaking him but he didn't move. I thought about calling 911 like twelve times...so a half hour? Maybe, twenty minutes?"
Juliette calmed down as she listened to you and Monroe took the opportunity to try and explain when she wasn't waving her arms and raising her voice.
"You know, how you have feelings for Captain Renard? You can't explain where they came from - like you just woke up one day and you were crazy about a person you barely knew. Is that about right?"
"Yeah."
You reached out to feel Nick's forehead and looked at Rosalee who was dabbing his cheeks, sending the concerned Fuchsbau a nod. "He's cooling down."
She sighed softly, continuing to dab the Grimm to keep him cool.
"There are a lot of things in the human body hormonal and chemical that can trigger these inexplicable emotional nuclear meltdowns and what we're dealing with is sort of a pheromone gone wild," Monroe paused to find the verb to describe the situation. You noticed Sean turn his head in your direction and looked away from Nick, meeting his gaze. Seeing the guilt in his eyes you sent him a small smile that he returned briefly, and you were aware of Rosalee's eyes watching you both. "fiasco." Sean looked away and you inwardly sighed as you looked at the Grimm, hoping he would wake up soon and end this nightmare. "All we're attempting to do is reverse the maniacal behavior before something even worse happens."
Noticing his eyes moving behind his eyelids, you looked at Juliette, "He's coming out of it."
The redhead walked toward the Grimm who groaned and Sean moved away, offering you a hand as you got off the ground. You stood by Nick's feet, resuming your earlier stance, holding Sean's hand and grasping his arm, as Juliette knelt beside the Grimm.
"Nick? Nick, can you hear me?" She asked as he groaned, his eyes slowly opening as he lifted a hand to his head. "Can you hear us?"
You looked at Sean who was watching the detective sit up, despite Rosalee warning him not to move too fast.
"Thirsty." Nick rasped.
Monroe quickly fetched him some water and held it to Rosalee who handed it to Nick who was a little disorientated.
"Okay! So that's it?" Juliette said hopefully.
"In my experience, this is the easy part." You told the redhead who frowned at Rosalee.
"There is one more thing the two of you have to do." She glanced at Sean, "Come with me."
Juliette quickly followed after her and you clasped your hands in front of your lips as Sean followed, sighing as you turned to the Grimm as Monroe tried to stop him from following Juliette.
"And there's one more thing you have to do too." Monroe steadied him with his hands on his shoulders.
You twisted your engagement ring anxiously before following the two men out of the room. You bit the inside of your cheek as you observed Monroe using a needle to prick Nick's finger, squeezing the blood into a tiny jar. "Probably best if they don't know about this part." The Blutbad said as he squeezed more blood into the jar and you glanced away with a grimace.
"I wish I didn't know about this part either," Nick replied.
You looked over your shoulder when Rosalee called out to Monroe. "Monroe, almost ready. You got that last ingredient?"
"Yeah, just getting it now." He replied.
Once the Blutbad had enough the three of you joined the others and you stood by the doorway, meeting your fiancée's gaze. Monroe stood next to Juliette, across the table from Rosalee and the Blutbad hid the jar as he handed it to her, but Juliette noticed the secrecy and pointed at her hand.
"What is that?"
"Just a flavoring to cut the bitterness." Rosalee lied, and you held back a grimace when she poured the beaker of yellowish liquid into the blood.
"Can we please just get this over with?" Juliette sighed as she watched Rosalee purposefully make sure her hand hid the contents of the jar Monroe handed to her.
Rosalee dispensed the combined mixture into two small cups, tucking the tiny jar into her cardigan pocket before holding out the cups to Sean and Juliette.
"This better work." Sean eyed the mixture apprehensively.
"Now what?"
You saw in that moment how much he detested being attracted to Juliette, realizing the reason he didn't tell you sooner was because he was afraid you would end your engagement. In that moment, you saw for the first time how much he truly believed he didn't deserve you. Considering his past, it wasn't a complete surprise to know he was always waiting for someone to betray him. But you never would.
You held your breath as they both drank the mixture and set the cups down on the table. They glanced at each other while Nick looked at Juliette hopefully, and the redhead turned to Rosalee expectantly.
"Hopefully this will eradicate the intense desire you two have for one another and put you back in a more normal and even emotional state," The Fuchsbau replied, "but we'll have to wait and see."
"So no visible signs then? Violent jerking? Disgusted gasps?" You spoke up.
Nick shared a look with you as you were both hoping for more than a 'time will tell' ending.
"Well, I'm not waiting here, I'm going home. Alone." Juliette announced, pointing at Nick and Sean before walking out and you inwardly sighed when you saw Nick watching her go.
You looked at Monroe when he refused to let the room be drenched in silence, "Well, I think the alone was a step in the right direction."
Nick sighed as he stood up, "Well, I'm going to make sure she stays alone."
Amused, Rosalee shook her head and you thanked the duo, knowing Sean never would and followed the half-Zauberbiest to the door. He held it open for you as you walked out of the spice shop before following after you.
You watched the Grimm as he left, before turning your head to look at your fiancée who was already looking at you as if to say "can we go now?".
You glanced at Monroe and Rosalee, "Do I need to handcuff him to the bed or something?"
Since he had driven with Nick, you walked down the street to your car, looping your arm with his. "You know, before I found out about Wesen life was much simpler." Sean turned his head to meet your gaze and you sent him a mischievous smile. "How do you feel?"
"I don't feel any different." He sighed, "What was in that jar?"
"Nick's blood." You told him, smiling when he grimaced as you approached your car. "You know what that means?" You unlocked the vehicle and opened the door, looking at him over the roof. "No, kissing. Ever."
A smirk formed on his lips as you both got into the car and you put on your seatbelt before turning the keys. You looked at him when he sighed, resting his head on the headrest. "I can't wait for this to be over."
You sent him a small smile before heading home. As you got ready for bed that night you could hear him scrubbing his teeth and shook your head as you got into bed. "I'm still not kissing you!" You called out to him when you heard the water stop.
Sean entered a few moments later and you giggled at his expression. He joined you in bed and you sighed tiredly as you laid down. You leaned over to kiss him and turned his chin so your lips touched his cheek. He sighed and you laughed softly as you smiled down at him, propping yourself up with your arm.
"Goodnight."
"Night." He turned to face you as you laid down again, shuffling onto your side and he brought you to his chest. You took a few seconds to make yourselves comfortable, adjusting the sheets and your position slightly. You closed your eyes, feeling his muscles relax as he released a sigh. Your eyes opened when his fingers ghosted over your head, tucking your hair behind your ear.
"I've never cared about someone, or loved them as much as I love you." He whispered.
You placed a hand on his jaw, gazing up at him as his eyes closed when you brushed your thumb over his cheek. "No matter what happens, we'll always have each other." You reassured him, meeting his gaze briefly before closing your eyes and kissing him softly. He placed one hand on your back and another on your cheek as he deepened the kiss.
There have been many challenges throughout your relationship. Whether it was his family, people threatening you because of his schemes or finding time to spend time together when you were both swimming in paperwork, you always saw the light at the end of the tunnel and came out the other side stronger. This time was no different.
Within a few days, everything and everyone went back to normal, and you never held their actions against them, knowing that they couldn't control it and that Sean was internally punishing himself more than enough despite your understanding. Juliette and Nick got back together, and in two short months, you took off your engagement ring, and Sean replaced it with a wedding ring.

“Please?” It came out no more then a whisper. A soft beg, begging him not to not die. The room was dark. The only light was the monitor that keep reminding her that he was alive.
The only sound was that annoying beeping that in the she loved to hear. It was the only thing that helped her. As she wiped her teary eyes.
She let out a soft breathe before looking up at her love. He still looked as handsome as the day they met.
“Why? Why didn’t you tell me. Please wake up.” She said moving her fingers to his face. Down the jaw she loved to kiss. His cheek. How? How had she not known? She wondered, she was a Grimm after all.
It has been a day since the attack. A day since he took a bullet meant for her. That moment played on repeat in her mind. The look on his face when he lost control and woge and pushed her behind him. When he saw the gun pointed at her. The sound of the gun being fired as his body hit the floor. She grabbed her gun and shoot the man in front of her.
The look on Sean’s face when he saw her as she held him. A light smile appeared on his face when he knew she was safe.
She placed his head in her lap as she begged him not to die. As the tears rolled down her face. Her hands covered in his blood. Trying to keep pressure. His hot sticky blood seeped into her hands.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered, fighting to keep his eyes open. She shook her head. “No.” She kissed his head. “You have nothing to be sorry about.” She says not looking into his eyes. She focused on keeping her hands on his stomach. “I’m the one who is sorry. This is all my fault.” She cried out when he lost consciousness.
Tears rolled down her face as she closed her eyes. Grabbing his hand in hers. Her lips pressed against his hand. Praying to anyone and everyone that he would live.
“Don’t cry.” A voice told her. As she opened her eyes she saw Sean was awake. “Hey handsome.” She said his fingers wrapped around hers before he smiled at her. “You stayed.” He said in a small voice. Shook laced in, as if he really did excepted me to leave him. He looked at me with loving eyes. Before I could say anything the nurses walked in and asked me to leave.
After a hour I was able to go back into the room. Sean was laying down looking at the ceiling. “Why?” It was his turn to ask as he closed him eyes. “Why what?” I asked sitting back in my chair my his bed.
He looked at me. His green eyes staring at me. “Why did you stay?” He asked again. He look at me with confusion. “I love you, Sean Renard. You stayed with me knowing I was a Grimm and you loved me. I love you to much to let you go now.” I said putting my hand on his bed. Looking at him, those green eyes looking at me. “You took a bullet for me, why?” It was my turn.
“I love you. You are the only thing that matters to me.” He said scooting over and pulling me to lay with him. My head on his shoulder. He looked at me for a second before looking at the ceiling again.
“I didn’t want to lose you. I love you to much to let you go. I would give my life over and over for you.” He said as he kissed my head.
“You will never lose me, I love you Sean.” I said kissing his lips. Once we pulled apart I smiled at him before asking him. “So you are half Zauberbiest?” He held me as he explained everything.
Once he was done he looked at me as if to make sure I was still okay with everything. “So you are a prince? That’s awesome!” I said as he held me tighter. “So my prince, how are you feeling?” I asked kissing his shoulder.
“Better with you in my arms.” He smiled at me.

I will always protect you
Imagine Sean was hurt while you and he were on a date.
Sean x Female reader
Past Nick x Female reader
Word Count: 1240
Sean rolled over, his head pounding. “How long was asleep?” He looked over at the small table to his right, with a book, a bottle of water, and some pain reliever.  He was in his bedroom, in loose-fitting clothes. He couldn’t remember how he got here. “What happened?” He asked to the empty room.
He tried to stand, knocked over the table, and cursed. Then she ran into the room, and he could breathe a little easier. “No, lay back down,”  She had a cup of coffee in one hand, which she sat down to come to him. “That Löwen almost killed you. You took a nasty fall.”
Sean smiled at her despite his head pounding. He said, “I’m okay, love really.”
“No, you are not. You have a concussion. Take these.” She pushed three pills into his palm. Once he placed them in his mouth, she handed him the bottle of water. After he swallowed the pills, he looked at her up and down.  “Are you okay?” She still wore the same red shirt and black pants she had worn on their date earlier in the evening, but now the pants were ripped, and the shirt was covered in dirt.
“Yes, my love. I’m fine, thanks to you.” She placed a hand on his cheek. He closed his eyes, leaning into her touch. “You saved my life.”
“If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t need saving,” he said, his voice tinged with a mix of guilt and determination.
“That was your brother, not you.”
“But if you weren’t with me, Eric wouldn’t know you.”
She smiled softly at him. “I made my choices a long time ago.”
That’s when he saw Nick in the doorway with his own cup of coffee, “Why are you here? Sean growled, but she put a hand on his chest to stop him from moving.
“Love, please. I called him. I needed his help. You were unconscious, and I didn’t know if Eric followed us,” she said, standing. I’ll let you two talk; I need some sleep and a shower.” She kissed Sean’s forehead. Then, turning to Nick, who had stepped into the room, she said, “Thank you for coming.”
“Of course.” He nodded at her, his eyes softening. Anything for you. “She turned the corner, and a few minutes later, they both heard the water running.
Sean looked at Nick, “Did she really call you?”
Nick shrugged. “I almost didn’t answer, but I knew that it must be important if she was calling me. You almost gave her a heart attack, you know.  You are both lucky to be alive.” Nick glanced back to where she had disappeared. “I'm surprised she was able to drag you to the car and up here without anyone seeing her.”
“Wait, she dragged me to the car?”
Nick laughed, “Hard to believe I know, I didn’t see it. But by the time I got here, you were in bed, asleep.  She said she wanted me here in case the Royals came. She knew she couldn’t fight them off herself. She told me the Royals have been after you two for a while.”
Sean nodded and said, "Since that picture of us at the Christmas party. Despite my lineage, my family has never been keen on mixing bloodlines."
“You should have told me.”
Sean laughed, “Sure, so you could convince her to run back to you.”
“So I could help protect her!” Nick yelled.
“That’s not your job anymore, Nick!” Sean replied with the same force.
“I know, but if anything happens to her, I don’t think I’ll forgive myself…” He stopped making eye contact with Sean, “Or you.” Sean nodded, “If anything happens to her, and if I’m still alive, you will have my full cooperation when you cut off my head.” Sean reached out his hand, “Help me to the  couch, will you?”  Nick took it and helped him up. He gingerly tested his legs, and they walked into the living room together. Sean sat carefully on the couch, and Nick sat on a chair beside the door.
It didn’t take too long before she walked back into the room. Her hair was wet but pulled back away from her face. She had changed into one of his shirts, which he had forgotten about, and a pair of gray tights. He couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face. She made two cups of tea and handed one to him before settling beside him. She began talking with Nick about something, but Sean wasn’t listening.
He finished the cup quickly and could tell she had added something to help him sleep. He must have really worried her. With that thought, he set down the cup and grabbed hers. After taking her cup, he pulled her to his side. He draped his other arm across her, pulling her closer to him. He wasn't sure if she knew how she affected him. They had only been together a few months, but she was the ultimate medication anyone could offer him; only in her presence could Sean sense his heartbeat slow and his body ease into relaxation.
Nick took the hint and stood, clearing his throat. “Captain, now that you're awake. I’ll head home. Call if you need anything.” He approached the door but stopped, “Watch your back, Captain, and hers.” Sean nodded.
Nick walked out the door and down the hall before they spoke again. “Thank you for getting me out of there.” He spoke into her hair.
“You're welcome, she hummed, “Come on, let's get you to bed. I think we both could use the rest.”
“No,” If he hadn't been so comfortable, he would have pulled away to look at her face.
“No? What do you mean no?”
If I go to bed, you won’t be here when I wake up.”
Confused, she pulled away from him, “Sean, you wake up at 5 am every morning.”
“You aren’t going home tonight?” The implication caught him a little off guard. They had both decided to take their relationship slow. She had been very hesitant even to entertain the idea after her relationship with Nick had ended.
“Do you want me to?” She stood and pulled him up with her.
“No.” He pulled her towards him, and not expecting such a quick response, she stumbled into his chest.
She smiled sheepishly at him. “Then it’s settled. I’ll sleep on the couch. Just call if you need anything. You don’t want to overdo it after a head injury.” She moved away from his bedroom door, where they now stood. She was teasing him, and he knew it.
“Oh no, you won’t. My savior does not sleep on any couch.” He pulled her into the bedroom after him. “If you plan on staying over often, I need to consider adding more security.”
“Why are you afraid I will run away?”
He stopped momentarily, thinking, “That and I want to make sure you are safe.” He smiled, laid down, and pulled her close to him.
“Well, there is no need to add any extra security yet, but you may want to look into it."
He couldn't help but smile at the thought of her waking up with him becoming a regular occurrence. It took a few minutes for her breath to even out, and he knew she was asleep. It was only then that he let himself fall asleep, too.

Lilith!Reader and the Nocturne Crew
It's always disguised as needing everyone to be okay, because the crew can't defeat Bathory if they're hurt.
So you'll hunt for them to eat.
Patch them up when they're hurt.
Generally give advice.
One day Maria, understandably sour given what happened to her mother, tells you you're not her mother. Before storming off after you said her plan was reckless.
Those words hurt more than you expected.
You'd never be caught dead admitting the party felt like your own children.
Perhaps it was filling the hole left after your own were gone.
Richter wasn't trusting of it all. But you could tell he craved the comfort a mother could provide.
And how he'd subconsciously seek it from you.
It was endearing, really.
Annette was always the one to know how you truly felt.
She just accepted what you had to give.
Rarely did she refuse your care, there was some kind of unspoken understanding that came from her.
Overtime, you just knew you were in trouble. Because you wouldn't lose them, you wouldn't lose anymore children.
Bonus:
Mizrak is definitely the father figure. He and Reader act like divorced parents.

IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH

Reblogs and Comments are greatly appreciated!!

Fandom(s): NBC Grimm
Pairing(s): Sean Renard x Reader
Word Count: 0.9k
Genre(s)/Tag(s): Gender Neutral!Reader, Short!Reader (mostly because Renard is a freaking giant at 6’5”), Renard is sick
Notes: Ok but I’m loving writing for Grimm again. Thanks for requesting lovely!
__________________________________________________________________________
“You look like shit.” You blurt the second Sean Renard opens the door to his own home. He scowls down at you, and you scowl right back. There’s deep bags under his eyes and a sickly parlor to his sweat soaked skin. He’s dressed in a rumpled hoodie and sweatpants that you didn’t even know he owned.
Since when did he own sweatpants?
Or a hoodie for that matter?
And what’s even worse, he can barely stand up straight, leaning heavily on the doorframe.
“You’re so kind.” He says and opens the door wider so you can come inside.
You make your way to the dining room where you set bags of groceries on the table and turn with your hands on your hips.
“When you said you were sick, I didn’t think you were literally dying.” You say as you give him a once over as he stuffs his hands in his hoodie pockets.
“I’m not dying.” He says and you roll your eyes,
“Coulda fooled me. I didn’t even know you owned sweatpants.” You turn back to your bags and rifle through them, tossing him a bottle of Gatorade and gesturing for him to go sit down.
You meander your way around his kitchen, cleaning the dirty dishes and disinfecting the counters before pulling out some ingredients for a simple chicken noodle soup.
It was a classic and easy and good for someone who was sick. Especially the giant of a man who was sprawled out on the couch in the living room.
As you cook, you put the tea kettle on and keep an eye on him. You’re able to spot his head lolling back against the couch pillows and you can hear the tell tale sound of book pages turning and the occasional sniffling.
Typically he’s at least in the kitchen with you while you cook. But you figured you’d make an exception just this once.
Soon enough, the food is done and you bring a mug of herbal tea and a bowl of soup on a TV dinner tray where Sean is waiting. He’a reading some philosophy book that you don’t care to read the title of. You can see where he’s marked certain passages or used miscellaneous scraps of paper as bookmarks.
He always did love a good book.
“Did you start that book I lent you?” You ask as you set down the tray and start cleaning up his space. Random book piles are straightened on the coffee table and old dishes are taken to the sink.
He really must be sick if his house is this messy.
Sean sits up and sets his book atop the most recent pile of books. These ones are in various languages that you can’t even begin to read. French. Arabic. Russian. And was that Latin? Who even wrote Latin books anymore?
“I started it. Couldn’t get into it.” Sean says, snapping you from your musings. You hum as you take the half finished Gatorade and hand him the soup. He says a quiet thank you before digging in.
“It takes a bit to get going. But I think you’ll like it eventually. If not, I have plenty of other things to recommend to you.” You reply and he merely grunts through a mouthful of noodles. You finish folding a blanket and flop into the armchair beside the couch, letting him eat in a warm, blissful silence.
“You don’t have to stay, you know.” Sean says as he follows you up the stairs and into his bedroom. You begin to rifle through his en-suite bathroom cabinets, looking for a thermometer.
It’s nowhere to be found.
“Yeah and ten bucks says you don’t make it to bed before passing out.” You retort absentmindedly, jerking up to look into the bedroom when you hear a thump.
It was just Sean tossing his book on the bedside table.
You huff and gently push him toward the bed. He moves without complaint and part of you wished he’d get sick more often. It wasn’t often that he was so obedient.
Luckily, Sean has some NyQuil in his cabinets so you pour him a dose and his nose scrunches as he makes a face.
“No thanks. I’m fine.” He tries, and you very nearly force his jaw open to pour it down his throat yourself.
“Drink this and don’t argue with me.” You say, exasperated.
After some back and forth, Sean finally takes the medicine and sags back into bed. You lean forward and press the back of your hand to his forehead,
“You’re burning up. Hopefully the meds will help.” You mumble and he catches your hand as you go to move away.
“Thank you.” He says seriously and you grin, reaching back to smooth his hair back over his sweaty forehead.
“It’s not a problem. I’m just a phone call away if you need me.” You say and lean down to press a quick kiss to his lips.
Hopefully it doesn’t get you sick.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: But If We Fall, I Only Pray, Don’t Fall Away from Me
Pairing: Sean Renard X Grimm!Reader
Based On: I, Carrion (Icarian)
Word Count: 2,986 words
Warning(s): mention of mental breakdown/risk of breakdown (brief)
Summary: (Y/n)'s new reality forces many secrets to come to light and many decisions to be reconsidered.
Author's Note: This story is a kind of a reworking of something else that I was working on, but ultimately scraped because I knew damn well that it would get out of hand.
Also, choosing a wesen for these stories is hard.
Sean might be out of character here but I am not gonna go back and change it if he is. I like this story as it is.
Finally, I'm not trying to disappear on you guys. Everything is just a bit chaotic.
UNREAL UNEARTH - HOZIER WRITING CHALLENGE MASTERLIST
------------------------
I had many concerns about my job.
Being a journalist naturally came with many questions. Mainly about morality. What was the line between a necessary story and sensationalism? How far could you take a story before you were exploiting someone? What would you be able to do if it meant getting a story in its entirety?
I had done fairly well avoiding being on the wrong side of those questions.
There had been one exception.
Early on in my time in Portland, I had been assigned to stories that were almost exclusively about criminal cases. Whether it was an investigation or a court case, it was clear that there was a space that my boss wanted me to be in.
During this, I found myself interacting more and more with Captain Renard of Portland's South Precinct. Everything after that felt like it had spiraled wildly out of control. What was a professional relationship turned into Sean and I having something close to a friendship. And then that friendship became something very different that was very unprofessional.
I could remember being so scared at first. Not even that my feelings would be unrequited, but that said feelings would cost me my job somehow. I enjoyed what I did. The last thing that I wanted was to be moved because of my stupid decisions.
After some time, and far too many long conversations, Sean and I found something that worked for us. My boss was much kinder than I expected. I was told that my decisions were my own, but if a bias began to show in my work, then I was going to be sent to work on a different subject. Integrity was important in this industry. I was willing to do whatever was necessary for that, so I understood the threat of keeping a closer eye on the stories that I wrote.
And I never truly found myself questioning my choices again after that. I was able to work with the knowledge that I was trusted by others and myself. That I knew what was okay and what wasn't.
And then, one moment made me have to reconsider everything that I knew.
One moment had left me scrambling to figure out what was right again. It had me questioning my relationships and my family and all knowledge I had of the world around me.
And it all started outside the very precinct that had been the source of my last moral dilemma.
I was standing to the side with my camera. I had gotten word that the cops were bringing in a suspect in a recent murder case. I was simply there to get a photo for my article. I wasn't going to interfere or say a word.
I wasn't the only one there either. There were plenty of other photographers and journalists who were there to get the same story that I was. It wasn't a new pattern for any of us. All of us were used to seeing each other there.
That's to say that there was no reason that anything should have been different or weird or scary about that night. No logical reason anyway.
Everything had been going in the regular pattern of events. The detectives had shown up with the suspect, pulled him out of the car, and started walking into the precinct with him. I was off to the side with the other members of the media, snapping a few photos of the man in the hopes of getting a clear image of his face.
My camera's flash must have caught his attention better than the others. That's the only reason he would have ever looked at me in the first place.
He then acted like he was going to lunge at me, attempting to intimidate me. I wasn't going to flinch until I saw something that I couldn't fully explain.
His face morphed in front of me, taking on some kind of cat-looking... thing. He stopped, almost immediately turning back into his human form. He looked just as scared as I felt.
"There are two of you," he asked. I furrowed my eyebrows. I had no idea what he was talking about.
I found one of the detectives staring at me. He looked as if something in his head was clicking into place before he continued to push the suspect into the precinct. I was certain that all he saw looking back at him was fear.
I looked across the crowd of reporters, many of whom had seemingly missed the subjects concerning comment. Except for one. I found the eyes of a friend of mine, only to watch her face morph as soon as I did. She was different than the suspect that had been brought in. More similar to a beaver than anything else. She gasped before turning around to quickly walk away from me.
"Wait!" I took off after her. It seemed to only scare her more as she started running faster. "Hey! Hold on!"
She yelped as I touched her arm. "Please don't kill me!"
"What?" I replied. "We've known each other for ages; why would I kill you?"
"Because you're one of them... you're a Grimm!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Just please, leave me alone! I haven't done anything wrong!"
"I'm not-"
I didn't get to respond before she ran off again. I didn't have the energy to chase her again. I felt tears well up in my eyes. I put my hand over my mouth for a moment.
I was convinced that I was going insane.
All I could think to do was to go home and hope that this was all some kind of nightmare or that it would all pass on its own. I took my phone out of my pocket and called Sean.
Now, I could've told him the truth. I could've told him that I was scared and unsure about what I was seeing. But in the moment, glancing frantically around the street with tears in my eyes, I found myself frozen. Any confession I wanted to make fell flat and useless.
"(Y/n)?" I let out a small sigh of relief when I heard Sean on the other end.
"Hey," I said, trying to sound like I wasn't on the verge of some kind of breakdown. "I know you're busy, but I just wanted to let you know that I think I'm gonna stay at my place tonight. Alone."
"Are you okay," he asked. Ever the perceptive man.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just tired and I have a lot of work to do. I'll call you later, okay?"
"Alright," he muttered.
"Love you," I added, forcing a cheery tone into my voice as much as I could.
"Love you too."
Sean still sounded suspicious. I couldn't blame him. I wasn't the best actor; subtly was never something that I was praised for. But I couldn't focus on whether or not he believed me. I needed to get home.
I tried to do some work when I got there. I piddled away on my computer, churning out a story that felt completely pointless and read like a middle schooler wrote it. I still had to send it off, hoping that the editor would aid in making it sound more coherent in time for it to go to press.
Sleep proved to be an even more difficult feat than writing a coherent article. I tossed and turned all night. The few moments that I managed to fall into some kind of uneasy sleep, I would be jolted awake by the vision of that man I saw outside the precinct. His reaction to me and my reaction to him. And that detective that had stared at me.
This pattern continued for days.
At first, it was fine. I could pretend that I had a long night. But that excuse couldn't last forever, especially when I had an obnoxiously observant partner who was checking in on me whenever he had a moment to do so.
As time went on, I found myself with less and less of an excuse. Sean was suspicious. He could tell something was wrong but wouldn't simply confront me. I could tell that he could tell that something was wrong, but I refused to say a word because I knew that I could've been wrong. I had just been hiding in my apartment and faking that I was perfectly fine for ages.
I was beginning to see those creatures at work. My boss was noticing the weird looks and new tense relationships that were forming out of seemingly nowhere. I couldn't hide it forever. I was going to lose my job if I was determined to be the cause of the workplace hostility. None of those who had turned in front of me would talk to me anymore, so it's not like I could ask them to explain what was happening.
I was already struggling with no real family. Most of my relatives had either passed away years ago or just never made themselves known. Even my parents. My dad had run for the hills and my mom couldn't raise me alone, so I had spent years navigating the foster care system. Now, I was losing friends and colleagues. I was convinced that I was about to lose my partner because I assumed that he thought I was cheating on him or something. It was all becoming too much for me to deal with on my own.
It was maybe a week before I found myself at Sean's door. He had buzzed me up, so he knew I was coming. He was standing at the front door, waiting for me with a concerned look on his face.
I felt my eyes welling up with tears as soon as I saw him. He pulled me into a hug, slowly guiding me inside and closing the door behind him.
"I think I'm going crazy," I said as I tried to stop myself from sobbing.
He moved back so he could look me in the eye. "What's going on?"
"I... I keep seeing things," I explained. "People are... They keep turning into these... things- creatures- I don't know..."
I buried my face in my hands.
I felt his hands touch my arms.
"You're not crazy," he muttered. "I promise."
"Then what's happening to me?" I looked at him again.
He paused. I watched his face. Concern turned into something that I could only describe as guilt. I felt a new fear settling in as I took a few steps away from him.
"Sean...," I mumbled. "Did you do something to me?"
Maybe it was the exhaustion or just the desperate need for answers. I couldn't think of a time when I felt a need to question him like that. He was good to me. Maybe a little rough around the edges, but I thought he was a good man.
But in that moment, I was convinced that anything was possible.
"No, no," he insisted. "I wouldn't-"
"But you know what it is?"
"Yes."
"Then, tell me."
"You may not believe it."
"A lot has changed in the last few days; you don't know what I'd believe."
He took a deep breath. "I believe that you're a Grimm."
"Okay...," I replied. "I've heard that word before. There's a colleague... I thought we were friends. She- Her face turned in front and then she ran off. She said that she didn't want me to kill her. When I asked why she thought I would, she called me a Grimm."
"You're different than most," he explained. "You can see things more clearly than the average person. Those creatures you're seeing are called Wesen. What you saw that woman do was woge."
"The suspect your detectives brought in a few days ago..."
"To my knowledge, he was a Klaustreich."
"Okay..." I mumbled. "Why me?"
"It follows a bloodline. It doesn't affect everyone. It can skip a whole generation. It's all a question of if it will happen at all."
I nodded. "The man said, 'There are two of you' when he saw me and one of your detectives gave me a strange look. I've only talked to him once or twice; I can't remember his name."
"Detective Burkhardt?"
"Yes, that's it." I snapped my fingers together and pointed at Sean.
"He's also a Grimm."
"So we're... related."
"In some capacity. Bloodlines only get messier as time goes on."
"Are you part of the bloodline?"
"No," he almost looked like he was tempted to chuckle.
"What? That seemed the logical conclusion. You know a lot about this."
"It's nothing that you did," he promised. "Sorry. This is a serious conversation."
"So... Why do you know so much about this if you're not part of the bloodline?"
It was the first question that Sean had hesitated to answer since I had first gotten there. I felt another wave of unease hit me. There was something here. Something that was so monumental that it almost seemed to scare him.
"That might take some time to explain," Sean said after a few moments.
"I have all the time in the world." I crossed my arms over my chest and raised an eyebrow at him.
"Centuries ago-"
"Holy shit."
"I told you," he replied. I held my hands up. "Centuries ago, seven houses were formed. Seven royal families. They held- and still hold- mass amounts of power and wealth throughout the world. I am technically part of one of those families."
"You're a prince?"
"Technically," he explained. "I was the result of an affair. They chased my mother and me all the way to the United States."
"All because you were the result of an affair?"
"There's a bit more to it than just the affair. My mom was a Hexenbiest. A type of Wesen. As a result, I ended up being half-Zauberbiest, which is just the male form of the same thing. Having an affair with a Hexenbiest that resulted in a Zauberbiest was what led to the uproar.
"The royal families are not commonly fond of Wesen. Hexenbiest and Zauberbiest can be an exception, but they deemed my mother and I to be useless. Grimms are treated in a strangely similar way; good if they're useful."
I found myself with nothing to say. I felt like I should have said something, but every response felt like it wasn't good enough. Like it wasn't enough to carry the weight of the conversation.
"I wouldn't have pursued anything with you if I had known that you were going to become a Grimm," Sean continued. "I thought that we had gotten to the point that it would've already presented itself. I never would have placed that burden on you."
"Would you have ever told me any of this if I hadn't," I asked.
There was a pause before he responded, "I don't know."
I just nodded. I couldn't decide on whether I was angry with him or not. He had hidden this part of himself for a long time, but really, would I have ever believed him if he had told me? If I hadn't experienced what I had in these last few days?
"You can go if you want," he said. "I won't force you into this."
I felt my heart drop at the idea.
I couldn't leave. Not now.
I knew how my life had been over the last few days. I lost all sense of self. All concept of who I was and what my life was supposed to be. But being here, being with him, no matter how life-changing the knowledge, had brought me back into focus. How could I leave now and lose that?
I took a few steps forward, stopping just in front of him. I grabbed his hands.
"Show me."
"(Y/n)-"
"Sean," I stopped him. "Show me."
He hesitated for a moment. When it was clear that I wasn't going to back down, he relented.
I watched his neck suddenly crack as the skin on his face changed. It wasn't all of it. One of his eyes and part of his jaw turned. The skin that changed was red around the edge and turning gray. Parts of it looked like it was rotting away.
I thought that whatever I saw was going to scare me. I had put a lot of thought into how to not flinch when he showed me. Instead, I found myself feeling completely normal. As if nothing was different. As if I had seen this part of him a hundred times before. Maybe I had. Subconsciously, at least. Not that I could ever prove that.
I walked closer, stopping when I was just in front of him.
"I don't want to go," I muttered after a moment.
I watched his face change back to its regular form. "(Y/n)-"
"I don't want to leave," I said.
"(Y/n). I need you to understand this. Your life is now dangerous enough without me in it. You'll already have people looking to hurt you or use you. If I'm involved... it will only be worse."
"And I am willing to take that risk." I grabbed his hands. "I care about you. If something were to happen, then I think being with you would be the smartest thing I could do. I understand the risk and the danger. I can't say that I'm not scared of it, but I accept it."
Sean sighed, his shoulders dropping as he did. "Are you sure?"
"As long as you are," I replied.
I almost stumbled as I was pulled forward into a hug. I chuckled quietly before closing my eyes and moving to hide my face in his shoulder.
"I love you," he muttered quietly.
"I love you too." I tightened my hug a bit.
And for the first time in days, I felt the world settle around me.
