Bienvenue a Québec, 2023.
If I were 35-40 years younger and spoke French better, I would be tempted to go and stay!
While they once had René Levesque, the US now has the convicted felon Donald Trump.

Federal Government of Canada (Headcanon)
This is the beggining of the serie of post presenting Canada in Welcome to the Table universe.
To start the whole presentation of each province and territory, I think it should be best to start with the government.
Her entire name is Federal Government of Canada, but she goes by Cana. Like Gov and IDC, the one we met at the table was the International representation of Canada, not the federal government.
She, like any government, is shady and rarely transparent. I believe she changes each time a new party is elected, to represent better the majority, and will always defend the federal government. Cana knows when they’re wrong, and sometimes try to get compromises, but most of the time she’s unable to change the prime minister/parliament mind when they’re set on something.
Her heigh is the middle of the country’s territories/provinces (6’) and is centered on the red colour, since it’s Trudeau (Liberal Party is red, the Conservative Party is dark blue, the New Democratic Party is orange, the Bloc Québécois is lighter blue, and the Green Party of Canada is green). She’s wearing a black suit with a red tie. Her hair is auburn, almost dark red and she has red eyes, who sometimes flicker the opposition's colour when the debate are heated. Her hair is styled in a hairclip out of her face, and she always got a smile who appear honest, but gives you the creeps. She’s always professional, and isn’t close to anyone, except International Canada, and is despised mostly by the west. She control very well the meetings when it gets heated, and refuse to make the same mistakes twice regarding the provinces/territory like she did under Pierre. E. Trudeau when he excluded Renée Levesque and Québec from signing the Constitution in the 70s (this is another problem, but I won’t go explaining it in detail for now).
She got a no-nonsense attitude (she wouldn't be able to deal with the southern state and staying calm), and look naïve/inoffensive, but don’t go underestimating her. That’s what she wants.
Why do you think that, since Canada is a country, she never lost a war? Yes, we are mostly allies with the US in term of military, but Cana and International Canada are extremely careful to not start disputes with other countries personification (International Canada attitude in that sketch is related to the way Canadians sees Americans, and the fact that we are mostly allies with you guys.)
And by the way, we did win that war in 1812, and Québec is the one who burned down the Whitehouse (Yes, she’s proud of it.)
Tumblr media
This is her after a long day, when she's about to dismiss a rare meeting where both Québec and Nunavut are there. (Her hair isn't tied up because the site didn't allow it)

SLPT: If you have conservative family members, give their children books about equality and acceptance. Your Christmas will be full of drama!
For the children of my BIL ("get out of my country" type of guy): I bought a children's book about Refugees and why do they need help. The other one is about gender stereotypes (Elise Gravel is the author of both). For my father in law, I'm giving him books about our culture and politics, with a very biased "socialist" figure of our history (René Levesque). I'm going full chaotic good with my family in law! Be kind, I'm a Québécoise and English is not my first language.

Dussane. R. Berendt. Garcia. The address is given: 224 Boulevard Raspail
In the dialogue François Bernouard says that the LES AMIS de 1914 were born of out of necessity, for writers but also architects, painters, sculptors, musicians to defend lyricism in the aftermath of war: “The war and its multiple consequences had separated us. Each one like you, worked isolated, we knew each other only by our writings and certain old comrades had not seen each other for twenty years. Here are some reasons for the continued success of our evenings”
The first meeting took place on 17 February 1933. “The invitation was issued on behalf of Paul Fort, Prince des Poëtes, André Salmon, Jacques Dyssord, André Warnod, André Lebey, and me. It was a wonderful evening, despite the freezing cold; more than 600 artists and art lovers came, the elite of Paris”. On night Paul Fort declared: “Retrouvons-nous chaque vendredi et soyons les inséparables de 1914, nos cadets seront reçus comme nos enfants”
For those who survived the war, LES AMIS de 1914 was to be a place to meet to discuss art with the peaceful spirit (l'esprit pacifique) of the days which preceded the catastrophe of 1914
But they were too sensitive to those no longer present: “Our friendship should remember the dead, either before, during or after the war, and try to redress a little the injustice of fate towards those who will remain in the eternal time of the young. I cannot cite them all. These were the memories of Guillaume Apollinaire, Henri Bouvelet, Emile Despax, the Englishman Rupert Brooke, Fagus, Jehan Rictus, Charles Derennes, Joachim Gasquet, Paul Drouot, Alfred Jarry, Jean Jareas, Jean Moreas, Paul Napoleon Roinard, René Dalize, Raymond Radiguet, Jean Le Roy, Stuart Merrill, Charles de Fontenay, Jean de la Ville de Mirmont, Sanche de Gramont, Robert d'Humières, Amédée Prouvost, John-Antoine Nau, Odilon-Jean Périer, Auguste Angellier, Adrien Bertrand, André Dupont, Albert Samain, Gabriel-Tristan Franconi, Ricciotto Canudo who, born Italian, chooses the French language to express himself, all writers of first quality. The present is often unfair to them, but posterity will do them justice”
Questions of generation also come up; alongside the slippage of the category of ‘friendship’ into something militaristic (just as from German “comrade” can slip from Genossen to Kamerad and Freund/in can denote both a platonic and a non-platonic relationship)
