basically every modern use of luke skywalker in star wars is ooc as fuck. like the luke of the original trilogy just straight up is not the same guy as the luke of the sequel trilogy or the mandalorian. he got bodysnatched at some point.

the prequels are bad like genuinely all three of them are so bad not only as star wars movies but as films in general. if you still enjoy them like sure have fun yknow i liked parts of them but when people try to argue that they're Good Actually that is insane.

rogue one is the best star wars movie outside of the original trilogy. like no contest. it doesn't try to rely on nostalgia or cgi or obvious parallels to the og trilogy, it just tells a story!! this is gonna sound silly but it's good because it's like. an actual movie. the characters of rogue one (ignoring andor which occurred after the fact for reasons that i cannot explain) are generally confined to rogue one and die at the end, meaning that the film was forced to tell a complete story and get the audience emotionally invested enough for the film's ending to feel significant and powerful. which is what a new hope did. because it had to be a good movie in order for there to be more movies in order to make star wars a thing. yknow. anyway.

the force awakens is actually pretty solid as the intended foundation for a new trilogy with new lovable characters and an inspirational story etc but after that kylo ren's whole existence just derailed the sequels as a whole and luke's characterization was so painful i just couldn't stand it. finn should have been the lead of the new trilogy with rey and poe as his leia and han but well. it was probably racism. like i'm not involved personally idk exactly what went down but i think people were just racist.

heyy i don't have anywhere to talk about f4 thailand so here i am ranting in ur asks, i feel like this episode was kinda inconsistent in terms of writing and it felt off because just an ep ago thyme was talking about how he'll wait for gorya & he was very understanding about her feelings for ren ever since the beginning so why did he react so aggressively and almost hit gorya when he saw them hugging... i know people don't change overnight but that kinda ruined his character development for me

So here is what I think.

Let's go back to the things that Thyme did in the last episode:

- told Gorya he would wait for her to be ready

- did not get mad when she lied twice about the phone and not meeting Ren (which Thyem figured)

- defended her honour (albeit via violence)

- agreed to apologise to her after ALL of the above

So from his POV he has done no wrong. Right? And while he is being his best version...

Gorya does this:

- she gets aggressive at him and pushes him when she sees him hitting Tesla (so she uses violence and aggression on HIM to prove her point. lmao)

- she tells him he hasn't changed (even though he kinda did) and that she hates the kind of person HE IS

- she blatantly runs to Ren and hugs him etc (basically the roof top scene)

-lies etc.

-goes on a date with him (thus prolonging the illusion they MIGHT date)

Now, it may not seem like much, but to Thyme, Gorya is denying his attitude change, and it upsets him.

Not feeling recognised and seen really matter to Thyme, because his mother doesn't acknowledge his existence unless he is leading WW3 at school. Thus, being told he has not made any progress has him reeling. Although Kavin and MJ manage to convince him to apologise, he sees Ren + Gorya hug as betrayal. He doesn't know why they are being physically close. He literally must be thinking that she is still crushing on him behind his back.

And yeah, while he said he'd be patient, let's think - how would you feel if the person you are about to apologise, that you are in love was cuddling someone else?

It stirs you up.

The point of the dramatic reversal was to help the develop the plot along. Important character changes have happened.

1. Ren Stands up to Thyme

important, because he has been passive for so long. This is good for them, Ren is challenging Thyme. Kind of like repaying Gorya the favour for bringing Ren and Mira together. Ren teased Thyme to prompt him to confess his feelings more openly. I believe Ren improvised that. I think Ren sort of sensed Gorya liked Thyme, but it wasn't until she freudian slipped and called Thyme her bf, Ren truly realised she was a goner. I think he entertained the idea of something developing between them, while he was still doing the WhoRen rebound thing. But once he saw Gorya reciprocated Thyme's feelings he backed down.

2. Gorya confronts her own feelings

so she finally gets a look at who she is and what matter to her. When Thyme is angry and about to hit her, she squints, wondering if he will do it. I think deep down she knows he would NOT lay a hand on her. Which is why she rough handles him, screams at him, intervenes. Like she is still treating him like her possession lol, even though he'd just beat the shit out of that guy. It's an interesting situation. Gorya cries, because she knows she won't just say what he wants to hear. She'd rather suffer his wrath. But there is absolutely no way he'd have hit her. It was important for this to happen, because this served them both as an opportunity to realise home truths. She figures she actually is on HIS side. Whether she likes it or not, she takes his side.

3. Thyme confronts his conditioning

his mother appears and he sees her for the menace she is once she thrusts the pictures to his lap, he panics. What if she goes after Gorya and her family? He lies to Ren, saying he doesn't care. Why? Because it makes sense to deny the love of his life. He knows this will place her on evil Mommy's radar. Wouldn't it be easier to hand her over? Dispose of the love? But he cannot. He is too far gone. This conflict between them allowed them to explore themselves. How they feel about each other, and where they stand in their worlds respectively. He realises that even if Gorya were to spend a day with Ren, she's still his Gorya. The girl on his side. The girl who will punch the same bloke he beat up for her, she beats him for HIM. Poetic soulmate behaviour?

See? It all clicks. It's perfection. But layered. Complex. Raw. Tainted. People lie to themselves the most. And in this episode something important shifted.

Thyme is drawing a firm line on being a jerk. This is not about patience. He is saying that he is changing NOW in order to be worthy.

He no longer needs to wait. She is already his. She has been his for a while now, but they didn't admit it to themselves yet. Got it?

So like while it may seem all over the place, it is actually quite well planned out.

The point of the rift was to have them both ask themselves the following question:

Can I live in a world without Thyme?

Can I live in a world without Gorya?

They both said no.

She sees him wherever she goes. She will defend him even when he is wrong.

He wants to protect her. Love her. Worship the ground she walks on. Buy her thousand motorbikes and Samsung galaxies.

Smells like a lot like love?

» you also noticed that he had been attending each and every one of your games, always managing to snag a front seat. he would smile proudly if you made a clean receive or scored a point, sometimes giving you a thumbs up.

» despite both volleyball teams being convinced that you two were already dating, osamu was still thinking of a way to ask you out. the only idea he had was making you his favorite food, but he wanting something more special for you. later though.

“hey ‘samu! did you see my last spike?!” you beamed, heading towards osamu just after your match had ended.

he eagerly nods, arms instinctively coming up to wrap around you and pull you towards his chest as you ran into him. he looked down and couldn’t hold back a smile when he saw your cheerful expression, nuzzling into his chest and holding him tightly— with his hoodie on.

he replies with a “yeah, i did,” before sneaking a knowing smirk at atsumu, one that clearly said:

“see ‘tsumu? your fans could never be this cute.”

» atsumu is much more bold, wanting everyone to know that he had a crush on you. whenever he saw you, he wouldn’t hesitate to walk over and hang an arm over your shoulder, asking how your day was and similar questions— sometimes not even listening to your responses because he was distracted by ‘how cute you were.’

seeing osamu flirt with you minutes after your match made his blood boil; fuming as he stormed over to the two of you. he did seem to realize halfway that you weren’t technically his s/o yet. regardless, he was still outraged, so he took you by the wrist to lead you elsewhere— not before turning around to shoot a glare at a very smug-looking osamu.

turning a corner, he traps you against the wall with his arms; the anger he had just felt dissipating as soon as he studies your expression— widened, innocent eyes looking curiously into his, followed by a faint blush along your cheeks.

“‘tsumu? you okay?”

he narrows his eyes as leans downwards, only inches away from your face; pleased with the way your lips pressed into a tight line and your blush deepening into a crimson shade as you break eye contact.

he definitely didn’t want osamu to have you.

he settles for muttering a “i don’t like when you hang around ‘samu,” eyes looking directly into yours with the tiniest hint of uncertainty. he thought he was prepared for a variety of responses, but was definitely not expecting you to wrap your arms around his neck and lift yourself up just give him a kiss on his forehead.

with hands cupping his cheeks, you blurt out a “so can i hang around you instead?”

» aran didn’t know exactly when everything began to remind him of you. even while walking home with kita, the colorful flowers and birds he saw on the way reminded him of you. he was sure that he would accidentally address a volleyball as ‘y/n’ anytime now.
