“Are you sure you’re not a rabbit trapped in a girl's body?” Remus asked, bobbing his head as he watched her go up and down, up and down.

“If you think this is good wait until you see what else I can do.” Y/n panted as she jumped continuously on the bed in the candlelight, as Lupin lay somewhat amused but tired beside her.

“Okay jumping Jack, time for bed. I’m tired.” He settled the crook of his inner elbow over his face, providing a dark bliss for his fatigued eyes.

Ignoring him, she carried on bouncing around the bed, her bare feet making the bed creak every time she landed back down on the mattress.

“Seriously now poppet, I’ve got lessons first thing… as do you for that matter!” He tried to grab hold of her ankle to steady her but she dodged him easily.

“Not tired.” The hyper girl resorted to getting a run up before launching on the bed, making it shake with every dive she did.

“Yes, well I am, have some sympathy for your old man.” Remus groaned, her behaviour starting to grate on him.

Yet again, this didn’t deter her.

“Can’t sleep.”

“You haven’t even tried.” He cocooned himself with the duvet, hoping she’d get bored if he ignored her.

Giggling to herself, she flicked her wand secretly toward the record player on the chest of drawers nearby, she needn't be so secretive though, as moments later loud blasts of music rumbled from the sound horn of the gramophone.

"Ahhh," Remus jolted in surprise rushing to hold a pillow over his ears, "Turn it down!"

"What?" She danced around the room, playing with his various knick knacks and holding a blanket around her like a cape.

"I said turn it down! Now!" Remus shouted.

"I can't hear you." Y/n waltzed around the room like a ghost dancing with its lover. In her own unaware and blissful world, she moved her body rhythmically with a little smile as her eyes shut.

"Eeeeeeeeeeek!" Y/n squealed and snapped her eyes back open at the feeling of big arms around her middle.

Remus carried her kicking and wriggling over to the bed, where he threw her onto mattress, "Im fucking tired, go to sleep."

The music stopped, leaving a dead silence. The man’s annoyance and authority could be felt ringing through the air.

She pouted as he manhandled her under the duvet, leaving her wrapped up and tucked in like a mummy, unable to move.

"Are you ready to be a good girl now?" Lupin sighed, wiping his brow. He watched her, making sure she couldn't worm her way out again. The girl lay rigid between animal fur blankets, like a caterpillar, with her rosy face poking out the top.

Y/n shook her head, "Nuh uh."

Getting under the blankets with her, he heard her make a tiny huff like a miffed little bunny.

"Do as you're told or I'll have to handcuff you to this bloody bed, understood?"

A sparkle twinkled in her eye at the idea, she raised her eyebrow with a little smirk.

Remus laughed, shaking his head, "You're a strange girl, aren't you?"

She nodded, looking more than pleased with herself.

"And I do love it, even if you are hard work." He ruffled her hair.

Unable to move her arms she just blew the loose strands out of her face. "Night Rem-Rem."

"Goodnight princess." He finally rested his tired head on his pillow, smirking to himself at her endearing defiance.

After settling down and making himself comfortable, he finally shut his eyes.

Just when he thought he’d get some slumber, her voice rang through the quiet…

“I need the toilet.”

He face palmed, “Oh for fuck sa-“

After the full moon landed on the 23th, all of them stayed with Remus on Christmas Eve and they spent that night all cuddled up while Remus read to them.
