the results for all the remix polls were basically what i expected tbh. remix 5 won tengoku's, remix 8 won ds', remix 9 won fever's, and honeybee remix won megamix's (tied with final until a tiebreaker vote). now.
the two winners will also go against each other. :3 this feels very unfair-

HI 8 FINNPER ROLLS HAI HELLOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, UH
do you remembr when I sent an ask asking if I could talk about a band I like. t. this is the ask where i talk about the band i like,
ok SO!!
they're called watashime slug, a japanese visual kei (+ rock if im not mistaken) band active from 2007-2009!! they consisted of 2 members, leo (left), the guitarist and soshi (right), the vocals!!
Tumblr media
i also have a. litle fun fact about them and its that they were inspiration to a pair of rhythm heaven characters, the rockers!!,i only have an image of one of them but , yea (here is said rocker)
Tumblr media
another fun fact about them related to rhythm heaven is that soshi sang for one of the remix songs in tengoku (the first rhythm heaven game), WISH, the song for the 5th remix!! its also by chatting with leo abt it that they got closer + eventually formed the band 2gether!!
also if its okay to recommend stuff 2 you um.i suggest fill me with flowers!!
they have their own version of WISH which sounds Super cool and I also recommend it :3
i. really like the,m. auuauauauauua i thinnk thats all,,
HI YURI HELLO!! 👋🏾 👋🏾 👋🏾
Hooray this is the ask about the band you like! :D
It's neat that they inspired a character in Rhythm Heaven, and then one of them actually got to sing in a RH game!
It's absolutely ok to recommend stuff to me, I don't mind at all!
I'll have to check them out sometime! Thanks for talking to me about them, Eggy! 💚💚💚💙💙💙💖💖

One the concepts i had when thinking of a new rhythm heaven game was this:
Bring back a certain amount of old minigames,
And then make new minigames with the same amount as the old.
Add them together and you get basically the entire roster for that game (excluding remixes) (since the rest of it are sequels).
So if it's something like Fever then:
14 old minigames
14 new minigames
(Since in there it's only up to remix 7 where it's all original games)
Or if it's like DS (where it's up to remix 6), then it's 12 old and 12 new
But if it's something like Tengoku and it's 5 games per row (but with 10 rows instead of 8)
then 15-17ish old and 15-17ish new????
don't @ me on this idk how the math works lol

15 years of Rhythm Heaven DS!
Tumblr media
Today marks the 15th anniversary of Rhythm Heaven DS, also known as Rhythm Tengoku Gold in Japan. My favorite minigames are Built to Scale 1 & 2, Blue Birds 1 & 2, The Dazzles, Love Lab, Splashdown 1 & 2, Big Rock Finish, Frog Hop, and Airboarder. My favorite remixes are Remix 2, Remix 3, Remix 6, Remix 8, Remix 9, and of course, Remix 10.

My Review of Rhythm Tengoku (GBA)
If you play rhythm games, you might have heard of the Rhythm Heaven series. It's a charming rhythm game series that really makes rhythm games accessible to people who aren't necessarily good at them (i.e. me).
Recently, I played the very first game in the series, Rhythm Tengoku. Now, this game was never released outside of Japan. I had to play a fan translation (which was amazing by the way, it's the only one out there if you Google "Rhythm Tengoku fan translation"). Language barrier aside, this game was fantastic, and really holds up well even after the 16+ years since its release.
The games themselves were a lot of fun! Some of them were a little bizarre at first, but they ended up being some of my favorites! Several classic games in the series started in Rhythm Tengoku, like Karate Man, Rhythm Tweezers, and Built to Scale. The songs were so catchy, and I find it hard to get some of them out of my head even the morning after playing.
Playing through the entire game (referred to as "Beat" on The Backloggery) wasn't easy, but it wasn't infuriatingly difficult. That's the problem I've had with rhythm games in the past is they make it so challenging that it's no longer fun to play. I didn't feel like Rhythm Tengoku did this at all! The pacing and progression felt perfect, and I was thrilled to finally finish Remix 8 and watch the credits!
Then I went back through and got the medals for Superb ranks (referred to as "Complete" on The Backloggery). I got about half of the medals just playing through, but going back for the second half was really tough! I assumed since I'd beat the game, it would be easier going back, but nope! There was just as much fun to be had trying for a Superb rank as there was just trying to clear the level. I was pleasantly surprised that the "bonus" challenge/collectathon was so enjoyable! I haven't found too many games that don't feel like pure grinding or teeth-grinding difficulty.
There's also a lot of bonus content unlocked as you collect the medals that I've hardly had time to look at yet (except, of course, talking to the barista!), not to mention practicing for the Perfect ranks! There's so much to do in this game, it's so nice to have a game that's not an insanely long time-sink, or a short thrill. Rhythm Tengoku is somewhere there in the middle where you're glad it's not too long, but you'll always wish there was more to enjoy...
Oh wait, there is! It's a series, after all! There's still Rhythm Heaven on the Nintendo DS, Rhythm Heaven Fever on the Wii, and Rhythm Heaven Megamix on the 3DS! There's a lot of games that make appearances from Rhythm Tengoku, so if these games are anything like the first one, I'll love them just the same!
Thanks for reading! I just finished Rhythm Tengoku and wanted to talk about it really badly, so here I am writing a review the morning after I finished the game! Hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to ask questions and suggest new post ideas in my ask box! Stay safe, stay hydrated, and God bless! ~Alex

You're pretty pog. I'd like to ask you a couple questions based off your ask game.So basically👍⭕❌🔧!!
bhxhdhd thank you?? I appreciate it kinggg
So basically
👍 What’s your favorite entry in the series?
This one’s weird because I genuinely have positives and gripes about all of them. I love Tengoku a lot but being the first its games are limited and there’s only about two remixes in the game that genuinely stand out to me. Megamix is pretty much objectively the best from a technical standpoint and it has good remixes, good game choices and the challenge train keeps it replayable even after you just clear the games generally which no other RH game has done, really. Now Fever. FEVER. Fever has arguably my favorite game selections and imo the best music in the series. But Fever does have one really big glaring flaw which is the super minor input lag on it, which granted may not seem like much but for a rhythm game even the milliseconds between button presses matter and I have been cucked over by the Fever input lag (coughcough WORKING DOUGH?) a lot. It’s probably be perfect if not for that. That being said I think my favorite is Fever?? Tbh the standings on all the games ranked for me are pretty loose with the exception of DS which is sat very firmly at the bottom—I’m sorry DS, you have really good games and introduced some of my favorite characters to the series but you are the only game where the player can regularly fail just because the system doesn’t recognize an input properly. (coughcough MOAI DOO WOP DOG NINJA AND RHYTHM RALLY)
⭕️ What’s your favorite remix in the series?
This is hard because admittedly I’m kind of a slut for lyrical remixes. If it has lyrics it’s probably shot up pretty high for me. That being said I think Remix 9 for Fever wins it for me. It was one of the first things of RH I was ever exposed to and I listened to Beautiful One Day constantly long before I actually got into the series. Naturally it’s one of the mixes I’m best at now but it still absolutely bops ;)
❌ What’s your least favorite remix in the series?
For the longest time the Machine Remix was pretty high up on my shit list on account of being IMPOSSIBLE but its song saved it somewhat, and it was also saved by me being introduced to Remix 8 in DS which is one of the only two games that I straight up just didn’t play and let myself get all the misses until Barista prompted me to skip the game.
🔧 What minigame deserved a megamix revamp the most but didn’t get it?
My heart says DJ School and Tap Troupe immensely~ I guess I can kind of see DJ School because its gimmick was so centered on flicking (even though I think the motions could still be translated to buttons pretty easily in the end like all the other DS games but eh) but Tap Troupe did nothing wrong and granted while megamix did make it much more playable, it still just isn’t right that Working Dough got into megamix but Tap Troupe didn’t.
But I’m gonna level with y’all and say that honestly, a part of me wanted Moai Doo-Wop in megamix. Not because I like suffering exactly, but I think the translation from DS to 3DS controls could have actually made the game playable. One of MDW’s biggest flaws is just the DS controls not properly recognizing what’s a shout and what’s an actual “doo-wop” and part of me wants to see if megamix could have fixed the series’s most broken game.

I forgot the rhythm heaven red kraken ask, but i think it was this. What rhythm heaven remix, would fit each member of the red kraken's aesthetic?
I love Rhythm Heaven and I love my OCs so I’m down for this
-Tap: Remix 4 Fever: There are no samurai in the RK, but Tap embodies that warrior spirit
-Samba: Remix 2 DS: There’s nothing with an actual pirate aesthetic, so the beach will do. Not that he would mind laying out in the sun.
-Tango: Remix 5 from Tengoku: Feels a longing regret from the past even though he’s grown too cold to truly face it
-Waltz: Remix 9 Fever: All That RED, she naturally gravitates toward it
-Dougie: Remix 8 DS: Just absolute chaos. Right up his alley (although Machine Remix fits too since he is a mechanic)
-Salsa: Remix 1 from either DS or Fever. It’s nice and easy while still remaining cheerful and upbeat.
-Mac: Lush Remix, since he is a fan of researching various new plants they find on their adventures, and all the plants and the explorer aesthetic for Hole In One vibes well
-Jig: Remix 8 Fever: Similar to Tango where it holds a feeling of looking back on the past, although with a less serious vibe and more of a strange jauntiness.
-Disco: Remix 7 Fever for the sake of her namesake, but in terms of aesthetic, Remix 2 Fever to match that Attitude
-Twist: Remix 10 Fever. A true showing of skill. The Real Deal.

Hi, I just want to say that I love the Rhythm Heaven stuff that you have been making! :D What is your favourite rhythm game and remix from each of the Rhythm Heaven games?
Aaaaaaaa thank you!! That means a lot ;;
I’m somewhat surprised that this came into my main here instead of tapswitch but you are appealing directly to the Big Interest so I’ll answer regardless :)
Unfortunately regarding Tengoku and Gold I haven’t had the chance to own them yet and I don’t want to judge their remixes or games before I’ve had a chance to play them myself. I’ve intentionally minimized my exposure to their remixes, specifically because I don’t want to do what I did with fever and somewhat with megamix and know what I was getting into beforehand. (Though watching videos for a while was my only real way to be exposed to RH so I can’t knock it too much) I’m trying to get the both games soon though so hopefully I can have an opinion!
For Fever it’s a toss up remix wise between like... all the lyrical remixes lol I have a weakness for the lyrical ones
I think I’m going to narrow it down to Remixes 8 and 9 as like my... specific favorites. They both have really great music and good game selection to follow along with, though of the two Remix 9 is definitely the one I’m better at...
Minigame wise it’s Tap Troupe or Air Rally. I LOVE Tap Troupe and the Tall Tappers as a whole and I also owe Air Rally for being my gateway minigame into the series.
For megamix I think my favorite remix is probably the Honeybee Remix, though the Songbird Remix is close behind it. The Honeybee Remix is on the shorter side but like... I just really love it, I’m usually the type of person who thinks songs with really young singers can be annoying or grating but I’m A Lady Now BOPS
Minigame wise? I’m gonna narrow it down to specially minigames added in megamix and not ones that were revamped for it and I think I’m settling on Sumo Bros because the music for it also goes HARD but honorable mention to Pajama Party and Kitties! as the runners up!

Name: Alien Bunnies
Debut: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!
Happy Easter! Yup, it’s the time of the year where families all around the globe gather to watch Illumination’s Hop (2012)! The day we celebrate the Easter Bunny, and her miraculous rebirth from a Cadbury Creme Egg (despite being a mammal)! If you celebrate it, I hope you have a good holiday! And if you don’t, well, I hope you have a good day regardless! It never hurts to wish someone a good day... buy yourself some chocolate, though. You deserve it.
Anyway! As I’m sure you’re very aware, this holiday was created in honor of rabbits, because everyone likes rabbits. I think we’re all so used to rabbits as the standard for cute fluffy animals, we forget they’re quite silly!
Japan, on the other hand, is having a great time putting rabbits in space and all that. I’ve talked about the whole Moon Rabbit story before, but to make a long story short, Japan sees the markings on the moon as a rabbit making mochi... so, naturally, rabbits tend to be associated with outer space in general now. Which leads to, for example, the Star Bunnies from Mario Galaxy, or the moon rabbits from Mario Odyssey. But I chose to talk about these guys today, because they’re a lot sillier.
Tumblr media
We first meet these funny fellas in the first Warioware for the GBA. In the events of Orbulon’s stage, Orbulon’s ship crashes into a meteor, and he sends a distress signal. These rabbits, which just happened to be passing by, decide to help, by pulling him out from his ship! And so they act as your life counter for the microgames. If you lose a life, one of them will just... fall into the void? Scary. Either way, they’re quite nice to be helping out like this!
Tumblr media
Or... not. After they go through all of the trouble of pulling Orbulon up to their ship, they suddenly decide to drop him back to his death. Why? Who knows! All he said was “Earthling, prepare to be dazzled by alien powers!”. Is he speaking to us? Are the rabbits the Earthlings? Do they not want to be dazzled? These guys are morally ambiguous, I’ll tell you what!
Tumblr media
In WarioWare Twisted, the bunnies appear as... Orbulon’s minions? When did this happen! I guess as revenge for their betrayal in the first game, Orbulon went and enslaved their people. He is an alien invader first and foremost, after all! Or they’ve always worked for him. Who can tell?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In WarioWare Touched, Mike is overpowered by his irresistible karaoke programming and decides to host an intergalactic karaoke competition on the Bunnies’ homeplanet! For some reason. As you can see, all their buildings are bunny-themed. But, if Mike is the only one doing the singing, is it really karaoke?
Really, these Bunnies have made cameos in a whole bunch of games! Like in WarioWare Gold, where they show up in the game’s tutorials, and lots of cameos I can’t be bothered to list here. But it’s not just WarioWare, either! These characters also make quite a few appearances in the Rhythm Heaven series, which has many of the same devs (including the wonderful character designer)! In fact, the artwork at the top of this post is actually from Rhythm Tengoku... I tricked you all!
I absolutely love Rhythm Heaven, but this post will get too lengthy if I talk about it here and now. So: more Alien Bunnies, under the cut!
Tumblr media
In Rhythm Tengoku, they make a few cameos in some remixes, like Remix 7 and 8, where they replace the soldiers from Marching Orders!
Tumblr media
In the second game’s Remix 2, you can almost see them in the moon if you squint really hard. Sorry, this is the highest quality pic I could get! And it’s 240p!
Tumblr media
Not only that, but they show up in the results screen for Remix 9, along with Play-Yan, and the little alien thing from Spaceball. Wow! It’s a real convention of great characters!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, they’ve got a pretty big appearance in the third and fourth game’s Working Dough 2, where they show up in the background, as well as the results screens! Since this minigame is all Japanese-themed, and features living mochi, it’s a pretty obvious nod to the whole myth. But wait... are these guys from the moon? I thought they lived on that bunny-themed planet! Hm... maybe it’s a colony of sorts? And who’s that tea guy?
Ah, well! Based on all this, I can only reach the conclusion that WarioWare and Rhythm Heaven take place in the same universe! Which means, Rhythm Heaven is legally part of the SMEU (Super Mario Extended Universe)! Sorry, that’s just how it works.
Tumblr media
We hope you’re looking forward to our next post, which will be about these things. See you next time!
