most nights after working late, aaron came home to a quiet apartment; you and jack both asleep, the occasional soft hum of the dishwasher filling the quiet atmosphere, the light in the corner always left on.

however tonight, that wasn't the case. instead, aaron opened the front door only to find a rather complicated design right in the middle of the living room.

bedsheets were draped over a few dining room chairs to provide a foundation, a tunnel made of couch cushions were on one side, there was a large sheet acting as a roof. the front, however, was all open, allowing much easier access inside, and that's where you currently were. the room was also dim, only being lit by that same lamp and a few candles spaced sporadically.

"hi," you greeted from inside, laying on your stomach and your face brightening at the sight of him. you effortlessly tossed aside your current read, the book occupying yourself until aaron came home.

aaron couldn't help but smile at the sight of you, an amused, astounded yet slightly confused expression on his face. "what's this?"

"what does it look like?" you grinned, patting the empty space besides you. "c'mere."

after shrugging off his suit jacket and placing his briefcase aside, aaron quickly joined, easing onto his stomach right next to you. he also grabbed onto a nearby pillow, laying it under his chest for extra comfort.

once he was in reach, and grabbing ahold of the neck of his tie to pull him even closer, you brought your lips to his, happy to have him home. after you pulled away, aaron couldn't help but give you yet another in return, he's missed you.

a pleased breath escaped you after he retreated, a comfortable silence falling over the two of you, simply smiling at each other like idiots.

"i honestly can't remember the last time i was in a blanket fort." aaron laughed breathlessly, looking at the structure of sheets, blankets, pillows galore surrounding the two of you.

"that's a huge problem then," you laughed, poking his side teasingly. still, the vibrant smile remained on your face and you let out a sigh full of content. "it was jack's idea. he wanted to build one after he finished his homework. so we grabbed all the blankets we could find - oh by the way, we have to remake our bed before we go to sleep - and we made popcorn, watched a movie. instead of cleaning it up, i don't know, i thought it'd be a fun surprise for you."

"it is." aaron confirmed, leaning over and pressing his lips to yours again happily. you always tended to ramble a bit when filling him in on what he missed, or details about your day. and he loved every second of it.

in return, your cheeks flushed - no matter how many times he's kissed you, no matter how long the two of you have been together, he's always had that effect on you. "you know what would make this even better?"

"i mean, i can think of a few things." aaron's eyebrows raised in suggestion.

with a roll of your eyes you playfully shoved him, resulting in his laughter. "mhm, i'm sure you can. and yes, but first," your eyes softened, giving him that puppy-dog-look he could never say no to. "ice cream?"

a small smile graced his face, looking at you fondly before agreeing, "ice cream."

with an excited squeal, you quickly scrambled to your feet and hurried into the kitchen, in search of the carton and two spoons, and leaving aaron feeling like he was absolutely the luckiest man in the world.

and in all honesty, he was.

Now that the main two have been properly developed, here's a little info on cosmic Pepperman.

In this version, he's no longer a cosmic entity but just an eldritch entity, not quite as powerful but still enough to absolutely desimate entire worlds

What brought such a being into existence you may ask ?

Well, all of the magic and pride from every Pepperman in the multiverse formed a entity at the image of their paintings. Don't think of him as Pepperman tho, he's not, he's but a mear incarnation of pride and ego, a very one dimensional on in fact, he litteraly doesn't know his name is Phil, any complicated deep feelings simply don't exist for him.

He just loves to brag about his beauty, his art (especially his art) and power, very irritating guy...

He HATES C Peppino, not because he undermined him the first time he met him, it's because he can't accepte the fact that the power of creation is owned by a stressed out messy old man, and not the MIGHTY Pepperman.

Now, the Ticket Stand

First, let's clarify this: the Ticket stand is the booth with the entity inside, the entity inside is just called "Ticket stand guy"

The Ticket Stand guy is an entity of the void, it came to life after absorbing a small flame from C Pep's primordial fire. It just passes time by selling it's services as a reality warper for the fair price of $10.

I've already quite developed it's story, so I'll just give you some doodles

C Noise thinks it's funny, and pointless. Why would the void need personification ? And why choose a F. Pep ?

C Pep thinks he's more of a hasard than anything, not very fond that a void entity is casually going around the multiverse. But it seems calm enough, so he let's it live. Pretty much every eldritch entities in the cosmic realm can destroy the multiverse if they wanted so... yeah...he's used to it

and now, Noisette !

Noisette is a little star traveler ! She wonders throughout realms atop her umbrella.

She's quite the bubbly chatter box, and loves to hear adventures from other people.

Here she isn't fond of C Noise at all, she thinks he's an obnoxious weirdo

She's not very developed I'm sorry, but I love her and her design and couldn't bring myself to ignore her.

This is a scraped mini comic I made, I didn't post it due to it's poor quality, but what the hell I'll post it now

And this is a whole lot more bigger scrapped comic starring C Noise and the soon to be C Noisette of this version. I never bothered to finish it because back when I made it, I barely had an idea of what the AU is about and it just didn't match with my idea of the Cosmic AU eventually. You can try to read it, but I warn you it's full of weird shit.

This is also a scrapped comic. In this story, C Pep creates out of a burst of creativity a cheese town with a cheese castle, cheese people with their cheese king and queen (none of them are sentient). Eventually the town is attacked by space rats (yes, space rats are a thing), C Pep beats them off effortlessly but got flamed up in the heat of the fight, in his absolute shock he sees that his flames didn't melt anything in the town, after repairing some buildings that broke during the fight, he leaves... but he didn't realise that during the fight his primordial fire gave sentience to all cheese people who witnessed his heroic acts. The cheese people immediately start to carve, write and sing about the story of The Mighty Cosmic chef, creator and hero of Cheesetopia. It was fun in my head but I eventually got a little bored and passed on some other projects.

Dungeon Meshi Chapter 50

I remember people having a lot of fun talking about this chapter when it was animated. Now I get to enjoy it.

The party's sleeping spots changed in relation to each other between panels. Personally, I think Kui doesn't concern herself with making sure euclidean space is absolutely consistent between panels, but this could be handwaved away as an effect from the dungeon shifting overnight. If Thistle was a prankster (and he was originally a jester so he just might be), he would probably gaslight adventurers by moving things around very slightly to disorient them.

And now we get into the opening premise of the arc. The consequences of their actions last chapter have come to bite them and everyone has been changed into a different race.

Love that the title image is a remake of the volume 1 cover.

Some comments I want to make on seeing their initial transformations:

I hope Laios found some extra clothes when they recovered their things cause I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any spare clothes after Falin destroyed his other shirt.

Maybe it's because she's a half-foot, but Marcille seems far younger now. I'd guess she's equivalent to 20-25 in Tallman age, but she looks like she's 8-10 as a Half-foot. And the first thing she noticed when she transformed is she's now flat-chested.

There was a post I read one time where someone pointed out that Senshi's mannerisms never actually changed when he became an elf. He just now looks like a traditionally pretty man when he's doing them. First thing I've noticed is he has a far more expressive face since we can see his mouth and eyebrows.

There was a single panel in chapter 43 where Laios had nipples and then the rest of the chapter was nipple-less. Chilchuck had none at all. But now he has them as a Tallman. Chilchuck also looks kind of thin. Hopefully transforming into something twice as tall as himself isn't going to cause any physical complications.

Marcille's new hairstyle went for the full child look. Her sidelocks are loose and resting in the front. Meanwhile the back of her hair is in a pair of twin braided tails. And she's keeping the left-side bangs over her forehead now.

This panel really bugs me. I think Laios is opening and closing his palm. I can't tell where his pinky finger is at all.

It goes to show how experienced the party is at exploring that they were able to quickly adapt to the strengths of their new bodies. Marcille was not overwhelmed by her improved hearing and was able to alert the party to any danger she sensed. Senshi is in a body with a much higher center of gravity, but his balance is excellent to the point that he knows how to safely jump over pits he wouldn't have been able to cross in his normal body.

After they avoided that first trap, you can see Chilchuck getting nervous about how little he can actually notice now.

I think some of Senshi's mannerisms are because he doesn't know what to do with his hands right now. Normally, he grabs the straps of his pack to help carry it. But his arms are much longer now and he cannot carry as much as he used to. Also, since he isn't wearing his helmet, his hair is loose and getting in his face.

Where's Senshi's helmet? It's not something I think they can pack in their bags and I haven't seen it at all since he woke up.

Yeah, I think the dungeon IS aggressively fighting the party whenever they want to backtrack. They killed a dragon and got on Thistle's bad side so now the dungeon will not let them leave. It will only let them go forward.

Haven't seen (or at least, haven't noticed) anything with this kind of pattern to it yet. If this were part of the original castle town design, I'd expect to see wings. On the other side is dwarf-made infrastructure. So the door itself might predate the dungeon.

If someone else has been here, that's got to be a big deal. Laios's party is one of the few even capable of getting this far.

I have no idea what happened but did Kensuke get transformed by the Changlings too? It is a living creature after all. Maybe Kensuke turned into a tentacle?

I don't think Yaad is in a position to help.

The fight with the gargoyles is supposed to be a bad situation but it's honestly just funny because of how inept the party discovers they are at fighting with their new bodies. Turns out racial bonuses with certain classes are strictly enforced in this world.

Marcille suggested Chilchuck learn magic in chapter 34. After her performance this chapter, it might actually be impractical for half-foots to use magic since they have lower mana reserves.

Marcille is doing her best Megumin Konosuba impression.

Dwarfs having less stamina is surprising. Maybe the reason Senshi and Namari prefer axes is because they can put more force into each individual swing so they burn less stamina overall. How do dwarf mining operations work? Is the stamina not much of an issue since they don't need to move much while mining the wall?

It's been at least four days since Laios's party parted ways with Kabru and Shuro, and last we saw them, they were joining the western elves on an expedition to the dungeon. I wonder how far they are right now.

Izutsumi did indeed fetch the bell and she's holding it later.

I like that the story doesn't handwave that Laios had a rolling pin on him. He probably picked it up among the pipes lying around.

This is the first time Izutsumi has helped with food prep and she got hair in all her dumplings. It's definitely worse right now since she's a koblod, but she probably would have gotten hair in them in her normal form as well since she definitely has fur over her whole body.

I'd love to know the history of these ruins. The dwarfs built an underground fortification that has an elaborate series of pipes and at some point a Tallman city and castle was built on top of it. Did that elf/dwarf war happen before the Kingdom existed, or was the kingdom allied with the dwarfs in the war? And does any of this connect back to the castle town?

Well, something in here is likely the reason Chilchuck's compass doesn't work.

Why's Marcille so nervous when Chilchuck asks her if she has any connections? Was she lying about that?

OC Revamp of Petra :33 + Chevaliers Info

Haven't posted about her before but here's a page I made in my sketchbook for an old genshin oc I reworked + rewrote to fit my worldbuilding.

This is Petra! She's a 20 y/o ish newly recuited Chevalier (I'll explain a lil more below) who I'm currently rewriting, she used to be a fatui nurse oc but yeah DRASTICALLY changed that. She used to work at Enola's shop Winthrop, and occasionally visits to say hello when she's on duty. I also like to imagine she gets along well w Harriet bc common interest in crime and former co workers.

Backstory WIP

Many people have a specific point in time where they remember their life changing. For Petra, it was when her mother died after a lengthy battle with tuberculosis. Her father, Amoux Pankhurst, was the doctor; he'd vowed to save his wife, but after being unable to keep that promise, he sank into a deep depression, becoming a shell of a man he once was. Not wanting his daughter to see him in such a state, with her only being at the mere age of 8, Amoux decided to send her off to live with his mother for a while in Creten while made his efforts to get his act together.

Petra had never met her grandmother before. She had heard of the tales of Nathalie Pankhurst, the renowned huntswoman, but this was her first time actually meeting her. Her father and grandmother had a complicated relationship, to say the least, due to their conflicting ideals. Yet, Petra went on to form a strong bond with both of them.

Misc fun facts: She keeps a personal journal, enjoys the music of The Swans and I like to think that her voiceclaim is Ashley Graham from the RE4 remake.

Also I think this woman is prolly a BEAST at pull ups.

Chevaliers

Basically the police in Throdia. Split into two divisions:

Chevalerie Division

The branch of Chevaliers that safeguard around the main cities (eg. Throdia City). Most associated with the Cornerstone Committee. Weapon of choice is gunfire (Historically tho they used to use rapiers until like 497 years ago).

Directe Division

The branch of Chevaliers more situated around mines. Less associated with the Cornerstone Committee due to less communication, and more with the Archambeau family itself. Brute force is more utilized by them in the mines, so their weapon of choice tends to be miner’s gauntlets.

I've only made the Chevalerie Division's uniform design + logo so far... (guess who got lazy!)

Andd yeah that's all for now, tysm for making it this far! Might make a Throdia post in the near future bc that's the only REALLY worldbuilt kingdom of mine so far.

early 2000's a cute baby girl was born, the last of the family, Evelyn Thompson born, for when she born, her Sisters Monika and Elisa had leave as well, Evelyn grew her first 4 years complicated already, her father always injuring her mother, until she turned 5, where this bad man killed the mother stabbing her, Evelyn was confused and she no even knew why her mother disappeared, her father soon came and said that her mother ran away because he discovered that she hided from their precious child that she was a boy all the time, Elizabeth was so confused, but her father no hesitated on raise her into be a real man, the man "she was was privated to do" he changed legally his name to "Noah", and then he lived for 10 years more, like if he was a boy, he grew up shy and insecure that his mother always lied to him and "abandoned" him, but he never was mad at his mom and never blamed her, he even wanted see her an hug her..at his 16, finishing high school, his father tired of see that "his son" wasn't the man he expected, he decided wait for his son to come back from school and just tell him that he was in reality a girl and that he would never be a real man when in reality was a girl (too for remark, if was never shoot almost to dead, Elizabeth would had a condition of slow chest growth, so at 16 her chest didn't grow at all just a little bit thing that she ignored cuz she was a bit overweight that time-) he shoot his son, leaving him at point of dying...luckily for him! a group of scientists came and decided save Noah's life! first introducing his soul in a android prototype they builded, it was genderless, once he woke up now on his new body one of the scientists apart of introduce himself and the rest of his business partners, purposed him that if Noah let be a test subject, they'll help him giving him advantages nobody else could have unless they're in death situation like him, Noah just accepted the deal, now having his body tested and learning to control it, Noah went to his father and with the same gun he shooted him leaving him almost dead, after a intense fight, Noah, shooted his father on the head, killing him instantly, with practically his body damaged and crying scared, police declared it was in self defense, aside that they saw the videos of the security camera that days ago that man tried to kill his kid, this one surviving on a robot body now, the scientists offered Noah the opportunity to see through the multiverse, as he was going to his first university year, watching a little distraction on internet he saw from other dimensions, Mr. Puzzles from the canon universe and Spamton from deltarune that wanted have a design like them, the scientists offered too after a bit the possibility of re-do his body, thing he agreed instantly, too deciding he would love to stay as a male, just ignoring his real gender because he no felt comfortable with it anymore, his body was done and complete, he finally could be his two favorite escape characters, as he assisted to university as well, Noah after finish, decided he wanted change his name...so he looked through names till he decided he would love to name himself "Trivia" he now with a new identity loves investigate new things, after finish the university as well with the remake of his body he decided to have a secret form that only would come in when he get high ratings, that with how futuristic the kingdom is is now based on likes, views and subscriptions

now a bit of things about him

he loves write and read a big fan of it, is his way of scape reality, he no writes books because of how shy he is, but he loves write diaries, since he entered University he started write on them since he found it like a good therapy method for himself (in that moment his sisters wasn't around him and he barely could pay his studies so that's why he took writing as a therapy method) since the start of university to his now 24 he had write over 15 diaries-

he always had feel like a puppet somehow, his goal as a villain is control the mushroom kingdom, dethrone Princess Peach and be the ruler to make this kingdom a better place, even if that means he had to face his hero, Mario, of course with the high ratings he plans brainwash Mario and the SMG4 Crew before they can do anything

as attachment to this fact, he is a very, VERY slow working villain, he calculates, he plans, he works on his ratings and subscribers, meanwhile he just has a second life as a normal resident...or at least tries

he is a scary cat, he can't just be alone at night because it gives him anxiety, yet if he has to save people he loves, he would try save em, even if need be on a dark woods alone with high chances of die since he is very weak

he got interested on aesthetic and life routines, his videos are about that actually, which get lot of critiques because he's not a girl and people call him gay-

he tends to wear long ahh sleeves that covers half of his already gloved hands in both, his work attire and his normal attires, that tend to use oversized hoodies or sweaters, he no uses much his work attire since he sucks at being a salesman/dealmaker lol, he just goes to work at minimum times now his sisters (more Eliza that is rich thanks to her husband and her work) live with him, and if u ask, yes he got the salesman/dealmaker job thanks to his brother-in-law, reason why he hasn't been kicked off work yet, because if his brother-in-law dares to kick him off Eliza would just kick her husband's ass lol, what he never takes off now is the a Transexual flag pin, that he proudly wears as part of had found a identity he loved (even if he was forced to it as a kid), Trivia hates show his body, too that's a reason why he just wears oversized hoodies and a sweater under that hoodie and gloves-

he can eat normally, like his screen can pass things through it, advanced ahh technology-

his favorite flavor is cookies&cream, there's no chance you see him without anything that isn't cookies&cream he just love the flavor...and he loves Oreos a lot, that on the sweet section, now in salty he loves pasta, maybe got it from his Hero, but as well likes pizza and burgers, he being an android can't gain weight

Decided to just go ahead and uh... show a comparison of every battle redraw I did using your designs?

For all but the last two, the top one is your design and the bottom one is the actual in game design, I included the nm! vs. dtm! Clovers as well since they fit the theme.

I tried to include them all on one giant image, but it. Was not loading. If possible I MAY try and send it through a reblog, but it will just be all nine of those side by side so it may be hard to see.

Out of all of these, I'd say that the one with your Star design is my favorite because he looks so much more vibrant and somehow cool despite being the most pathetic man in existence (affectionate)

Also, don't know if it'll show as what they're all called if you tried to download them, but each one is the name of their theme, with the only exception being Geno Dalv since it was taken by Pacifist Dalv, so instead it has a play on words that I'm very proud of

I think I remember seeing you hint at a possible Feisty Four ref sheet, so if that is true then I will remake the ones I have for them as well

Got around to finally finishing my reread of Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon just in time for the end of the year, so here's my mini-review of each route:

Moon Princess

It's kinda perfect.

Through the critical lens of analyzing a twenty-years-later, non-eroge remake of the original's first route… I adore every decision being made here. Shiki and Arcueid are better than they've ever been. Vlov is fantastic, not only as a character but for showcasing how vampires have been changed from bogeymen to natural disasters. I love how Ciel's role in the story has been taken up by Noel and Mario and how they add extra tension and stakes to the story. I love how Ciel's new proper introduction gives her so much weight and intrigue. I love the bit from the manga they threw in. I love the Clair de Lune insert that is so on the nose it shouldn't work, and yet it DOES. I love how seamlessly it incorporates the more developed scale the franchise became in the decades between releases without distracting from that core bittersweet love story.

My hat goes off to the team. Actual peak.

Midnight Rainbow

A risky reimagining of the last three hours of the original Ciel route that transforms it into a sprawling tragedy that goes on for… 30+ hours. It's a long one. I'd even say it drags. Especially in the middle.

It's a larger and more complicated route, and with all those extra moving parts there's more room for me to pick nits. Ciel's design is the only redesign that, despite my efforts, doesn't fully work (I've got an idea for another post talking about that). I don't connect with or find this version of Shiki interesting enough to be in his head for that many hours. It feels like it dials back the sexual side of the horror too much--in a way that Moon Princess thankfully didn't--sometimes feeling like a Realta Nua-style censored version of itself, which I do consider a minor detriment.

Etc, etc. You get the idea.

The last five hours are fantastic and make the ride more than worth it. Noel steals the show all the way to the end. What a character! If you told me four years ago that one of the newbies who threatened to bloat the narrative and take away precious screen time from the core iconic cast would be gunning for Kahoku's top spot, I'd call you a liar lol. Another thing that sticks with me is how the story fleshes out Roa's characterization. In the original, WHAT Roa was was always more interesting than WHO Roas was. But here they manage to even those two out quite nicely--a haunting remnant of the man who started this entire tragic cycle, not to be spitefully cut down, but instead laid to rest. It tied together everything for the new gut punch of a resolution where love humanizes and destroys the cast very well.

Extra Route

Nasu at his most indulgent, for better and worse.

I’m never going to say no to an Ultimate One battle. The all-out brawl between a fully powered Ciel and Arcueid is overdue, and the Shiki+Roa team-up is instantly iconic. I think the scenario overall is about half as narratively vapid as it is a spectacle. We have escalated to such an absurd degree that rule of cool is the only thing keeping this mess afloat. As for the epilogue, Cloudless Blue was a solid remake of the original route's ending. I’m glad it's in here and wasn’t cut, but it never shakes how incongruous it feels after the new version of the story goes so far thematically in the opposite direction. 

Overall, I’m glad this bizarre little Arcueid's optional superboss ending exists, but until Red Garden comes out, this is the ending note that Remake goes out on, and I’m not a fan of THIS being the reboot’s aftertaste.

Oh… yikes that is HIDEOUS. And the actual artwork is somehow worse. 1/10

Zelda 2

Kinda goofy looking, but he looks ominous and spooky thanks to the shadows, so points for that. 5/10

A Link To The Past (Artwork)

I like how much more refined this look is, but Ganon here looks almost… too cartoony. Still this was the inspiration for any future designs, so I respect it. 6/10

A Link To The Past (Sprite)

Hallelujah! He’s still cartoony, but the greenish blue skin, full on yellow eyes, primarily brown attire, and skull necklace make him look more serious. 8/10

Ocarina of Time/Smash Ultimate

This Beast Ganon design does not just look demonic, but it has a chimera-esque feel to it. Also the greenish blue skin is BEAUTIFUL. Ganon here truly feels like a savage devil, and I’m all for it. Easy 10/10

Oracle Games

This design is 100% a good update to the classic Ganon look, and the hoves complement the look but I don’t like the face and I don’t like the pure blue used here. It’s good for what it is though, and I see it pleasing veteran Zelda fans. 9/10

Wind Waker (Puppet Ganon)

I like the concept behind Puppet Ganon a lot, and I like how well this design fits into the toon link aesthetic. 10/10

Twilight Princess/Smash Bros

A hybrid between a boar, a wolf, and a lion. It’s fitting given how Twilight Princess’s take on Ganondorf was more rage filled than his other incarnations, but this form only exists so Link’s worlf form could square up against another four legged beast. Also that crown should’ve broke after he transformed. 8/10

A Link Between Worlds

This is near perfect. I hate that he’s still bald after so many games, but this is a great take on the classic design. The greenish blue skin is finally here, the shadowy appearance, and the pure white eyes complete this cartoony, yet scary look. 9/10

Yuganon

Yuga… you look great, but god please fix that bald spot. It’s atrocious. Still this is a 9/10

Hyrule Warriors

Even though I wish his skin was that greenish blue, I still think this design is rad as all hell. The humanoid shaped body, with the lion-like mane and tail work so well. 10/10

Calamity Ganon (Mist Form)

While technically not a beast form for Ganondorf, Calamity Ganon was still Breath of The Wild’s Ganon. It definitely has a dragon feel to it, but it’s too obscured by shadows. I’ll just give him an 7/10

Calamity Ganon (Boss)

I love this design. It abandons the pig motif in favor of the haunting visual of spider-like demon with Ganondorf’s features, highlighting that this WAS a man once upon a time. Still, because of it being so over complicated, it’s sadly a 9/10

Dark Beast Ganon

Does anyone else smell burnt bacon? Oh it’s just the neighbors pig being set on fire. 5/10

Cadence of Hyrule

The best Classic Ganon design, PERIOD. He FINALLY has hair, the skin may still be blue, but it isn’t THAT blue, the eyes are a pure yellow, his legs are hooves, and overall it’s a cartoonish, yet menacing appearance. This type of design would fit PERFECTLY into a Link To The Past remake. It’s honestly ironic that Cadence of Hyrule’s Ganon isn’t good in the slightest, but his design is still a banger. 10/10

Skull Ganon

Mmm… ourple bacon. I’m sorry, but I cannot take this look seriously. 5/10

Tears of The Kingdom

Reject pig. Become dragon. In all seriousness though, this was a MUCH needed addition to the Ganon Canon. 10/10

Sahara Sensei to Toki-kun (2023) ep. 3

Ongoing Review: Going good. Ongoing Rating: 7.5/10

Summary: Yanki remakes himself after falling for his class teacher.

What I liked:

# Bloody sweet first kiss

I had tons of apprehension regarding how this scene’s gonna play out. I am very pleased with how they handled this scene. I am not a fan of falling into a kiss. If I’m not wrong it is a visual story-telling trope and seldom shows up in books. But this one was really good and changed my mind about it. The kiss was triggered by a knee giving out, a slip of foot, shown in slow-mo as sensei falls face first onto our yanki only for skin to break and blood to flow. While their audience is shell-shocked.

# Step-brothers trope

It has been a while since I last encountered this trope. I am surprised that this is side CP to a sensei X yanki pairing. Classics. I am glad that the supportive friends trope got complicated. Also it has ushered in another: all male characters are BL targets.  

# Sweetest evil stepmother

I am such a fan of Rise. His looks, attitude, personality, aura – so dazzling! This is the kind of person I would unknowingly emulate. Seeing him in stepmother costume made me realize: if that character was a female, I would have had a serious case of akka pasam* for that character while watching.

# The girls are so vivacious. It is a delight.

# Mirror to comphet

The scene of Toki contemplating what kind of person sensei likes. Three doors open and Toki’s classmates pop-out. Now that’s an awesome expose of how comphet operates. It props up artificial limits to what one is allowed to feel and imagine. Why were Toki thinking of his classmates in terms of Sahara’s love interest? Because that’s whom comphet picks out for him (not necessarily for Sahara) – “right” age and gender.

# Opening song is pretty cool

# Same-sex theatric performance

I’ll take it as a tribute to premodern kabuki queers.

# The prince who conveniently fell ill.

It is the silliest. But hey, the prince got scared. It is no Ojou-sama he is paired with, rather a yanki who live by the lines_

# Todo Takuya-kun

I love how creepy, stalkerish he is. It has been a while since I had walking, stalking obsession gracing my screen. My Beautiful Man: Eternal (movie) was months ago. I liked the interaction between Takuya and Toki. My precious perverts assemble.

# Snow White Braveheart

Toki-kun’s version of Snow White looked like a valiant warrior marching into a battlefield.  He was such a delight on stage. I felt Sahara, almost. Sensei and yanki, both look pretty good with make-up make-up.

# Outburst, overflow, on target

Post-kiss scenes were spot-on. While I am not particularly interested in Sahara’s swimming past, I loved how all of it (him and his history) landed on Toki.

What I didn’t like:

# Sahara’s ex

I don’t think I’ll like that character even a little bit. I want Sahara to stop thinking about him too. This is such a great feeling. I like being made to feel this way. The storytellers are clearly doing something right.

I mean, it is so deliberate. Look how cold the frame with the ex is. Compare this to frames with Toki. They designed Toki’s wardrobe such that each frame with him feel warm.

# So much recap from previous episode.

The episode is way too short. The source manga is probably typical length 2 volumes. In that case, they don’t have a lot of material to work with. Even though I would take recaps over useless filler scenes (except for scenes of Toki fighting and being yanki which sadly we won’t get) any day, I am feel undernourished after each episode.

# Intentionally dense

While I understand Sahara, I don’t endorse. I like how Todo Shinji brings it up subtly – Icchan’s kanji, of course. But Shinji-kun, my son, hypocrisy clearly doesn’t suit you.

Now with the Disney live action boom which are announced every three days , the Harry Potter remake and the FNAF film that already has almost confirmed .Lately I've thought "If a love actions of my fic were made, what would be the cast of actors?".

I've been thinking about this during the showers! So here I leave my cast list of my imaginary live action cast of my fanfic XD: love actions cringe was made from my fic XD:

Attention: I don't know many actors, I prefer to see things in animated format, so forgive me if many appear in the same work or are very generic and predictable xd

Andrew Garfield: Damos Gaspar.

I know Andrew doesn't stick around to make the canonical Damos, but for my fic's version I think it's fine, after all in my fic he's a 24 year old guy and the way I draw him I try to favor that point of my fic.

I think Andrew without any problem can play the young priest who at the beginning is an optimistic young man with his destiny and little by little he discovers that the reality that he has believed all his life is more complicated than it seemed, besides that despite being a good guy he has his shades of gray.

I also like to imagine the interpretation he would make in the funny moments with Pili and the tense moments that will be quite drastic, if I can call them that.

Chris Evans: Arceus

As I said, I don't know much about actors, but in the hypothetical case that this live action had been done about 5 years ago, I would have chosen this guy for Arceus. Now not so much or maybe yes?... It's complicated, it's that Chris already notices the change weather after end game xd

But let's imagine that we have in front of Chris from about 5 years ago, so without a doubt he has the role for our llama perfectionist.

Ryan Gosling: Argique

The same as Chris, but if I give him a chance, he currently doesn't look so bad to try the kaloshiny.

Can you imagine Ryan playing Argique eating? It would be historic because of how funny it would be.

Tom Hiddleston: Marcus Koroterna

This would undoubtedly be our beloved emperor. With the great interpretation of him to Loki,he already has experience with characters who are charismatic villains. Also, just look at it! The wardrobe would be perfect! Not even Marcus's weird hairstyle could ruin that!

Jenn Murray: Acomfire

The same as with Tom Hiddleston. The character is made for her!I was literally based on Gerda from the movie Maleficent 2, for its great design and redesign. So I think she is the one, in addition to her, her fixed and penetrating gaze will transmit to the viewer that it's not a good idea to mess with the Emperor, because he has someone dangerous behind him.

Emma Watson:Olga Koroterna (young age), Ava Gaspar or Martha

Any of those three would suit you.

She could play Olga when flashbacks are shown of her when she was a young princess, with big dreams and determination to be a good girl.empress for her people.

Also the great Ava Gaspar, that restless woman who sought more land than the horizon showed her with great kindness and love towards her friends and loved ones, from the only Pokémon trainers of the dynasty and the great guide of our little Heatran.Can you imagine Emma in Ava's uniform? She would look amazing!!!

A character like Martha would also suit her well, after seeing her participation in the Beauty and the Beast live action and now that I have accommodated Martha's presence and role in the story, Martha would definitely suit her well! Now with Martha's new changes, they make her a candidate for the honor of being played by Emma. Pretty good for a character I owe a lot xD

Elizabeth Debicki: Olga Koroterna

What better role of an empress for someone who played the queen of the people?That's how it is! I speak of Elizabeth Debicki,who previously performed for the dearest Princess Diana. I haven't seen ALL of The crown, but for me she is the one to play the dearest Olga/mother-in-law of my friend Elgu xD.Also just watch it here! Olga's short hair and her crown would suit her perfectly!

In addition, she undoubtedly knows how to capture the pain and suffering of a woman in overwhelming situations that little by little destroy her.

Sarah Jeffery: Kenia Gaspar (young age)

I like the interpretation of this actress, her experience with the character of Audrey in descendants, I think it would help her with the interpretation of Kenya in flashbacks, since let's say that she was...A difficult girl to deal with, especially with Olga... Acomfire already talked a little about it and little by little I leave crumbs of it.

Michelle pfeiffer: Kenia Gaspar

Currently Kenya has not gone beyond mentions, technically we know nothing about her other than some things she has been involved in.I don't want to make spoilers, but if this actress is here it is because there is a specific role that makes me take her as an immediate candidate, it is a role of a character from a movie mentioned in this post. This character will be relevant later on, whether it is just a cameo, reference, flashback or full appearance is left to your speculation.

Hunter Doohan: Stephen Koroterna

He has that air of naive, of a good boy, different and familiar with loved ones. The perfect emperor.

Tom Holland: Pablo Gaspar (young age)

Just look at it! He is without a doubt Mew's apprentice, that innocence and hope for what the future holds fits perfectly in this actor I see this guy using the power to speak to the hearts of Pokémon and with a suitcase in hand to leave his toxic family and go see what fate has in store for him.I see the story of Pablo interpreted by Tom and without a doubt I believe that he is the chosen one of Mew.

Robert Jack:Pablo Gaspar

After watching his great performance in the series "the last czars", I realize that he is a very good candidate for the first Gaspar of the dynasty.A nice guy, but with problems when it comes to talking about his performance and the acts he did while holding the office that God gave them.

No doubt he is already an expert for that character archetype.

Luise Wolfram: Alix Koroterna

He already has experience with Alix, I can only say that xD

Angelique Boyer: Lesly

Oh yes, the great traitor of the archestian religion. The woman who made the pure angel of Arceus fall into pain, anger, disobedience and imperfection for the sake of jewels and a new status. The woman who was once called a heroine, the one who fooled everyone and the girl who is blamed for Arceus being so disappointed with the human race.

No doubt Angelique Boyer is the one for Lesly, she already has experience with sexy bad girls. Just tell you that she acted to be Teresa in the telenovela of the same name(jewel of Mexican telenovelas). Without a doubt I think she is the best of all this cast.

And that's my great cast! There are still many characters missing but I think those are the ones worth talking about for now, also as I said I hardly know any actors so it makes it much more complicated the situation xD.

I started working on this before Remake came out because I had AU feels, and then after a week of ruminating on Remake I went “I’M GOING TO FINISH THIS” and here we are. More Sefikura Fusion AU-- more like just an extension of a very, very long timeline actually... Kinda considering maybe changing the AU name to be more broad? Because there’s a lot that happens in there, covering all of FF7 and then beyond into a KH thing... it’s nuts lmao

Context here is: Young Sephiroth, an angsty pre-teen, meets the stoic leader of the Turks and this one dorky secretary that likes cats and robots and goes “Ah, yes, these are my big brothers now, and if anyone touches them they will pay” and thus found family taking a photo at some point. If only it lasted forever... poor things. :,)

man i want them to make a Neverwinter Nights 2 remake so badly. i love the game’s music, story, atmosphere, characters, and D&D 3.5 is actually so interesting and fun to use if you can get over how needlessly complicated it can be (it being mostly automated with the rolls and stuff because PC Game makes it considerably better) but the thing has so many obvious bugs and glitches as well as bad graphics and missing animations.

i want them to remake it and add in the missing combat animations (female Half-Orcs are just broken both in and out of combat.) make it so player created characters are not butt ugly anymore (some are ok but the rest are horrible even considering the game’s age.) i want the cutscenes to be more elaborate. the missing Romance paths need to be re-integrated (NEESHKA MY BELOVED) and the current ones need a little reworking. ADD SAME-SEX ROMANCING FOR CHRIST SAKE! I WANT MY COOL AF AASIMAR GIRL TO BE IN A LOVING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE KLEPTOMANIAC TIEFLING!!!!! speaking of Tieflings, make their horns bigger and ALLOW YOU TO PUT A TAIL ON THEM!!! 

add more weapons and better armor designs. rework some of the racial stats (MAKE HALF-ORCS FUCKING PLAYABLE GODS DAMN YOU) and rework some of the classes (Favored Soul is cool and all but it feels lackluster. Spirit Shaman is absurdly situational. Wildshape Druids are some of the WORST builds in the game. just a few of the things that need fixing.)

Hey, this may sound like a weird and loaded question but how do you make a nuanced oc, especially poc? I see your ocs and they have so much personality like they're actual people with flaws.

AH NAH ITS ALL GOOD THATS V SWEET OF U… this is a very interesting question that I’d love to get into! This will be speaking more from a character design and writing perspective than history and culture, cuz I think it’s more applicable to ur question. 

Also keep in mind that a lot of these guidelines are not strict rules, and will depend heavily on what kind of story, tone, genre you’re creating so mileage may vary:

1. Avoid touchy stereotypes- Always a good practice! This doesn’t mean “never make an Asian OC who is smart and good at math”, what it means is that your OC should be more complicated and nuanced than that. It also means that if your character fits into some kind of stereotype to some degree, avoid treating this as a “big deal.” Like, you have an asian character who happens to be good at math, so what? it’s just one trait they have among many many others! 

Keep in mind, however, not all stereotypes are created equal, and there are just some stereotypes where its never gonna look good if you have ur character embody them to any degree (See: Dumb Animalistic Savage From Africa, Asia, Americas) it’s also important to consider your own background versus the character’s!

Another good practice is to have many many POC in ur story who are all different in their own unique so you don’t have The One POC Who Is Expected To Represent All POCdom, Ever (perhaps a bit rich coming from someone who makes nation personifications lmao, but I do try to mitigate it by interrogating just how monolithic nation identities really are, as well as making sub-nation personifications)

For example, let’s take the way I characterize China, even if he isn’t technically my own creation lol. Some could say that the way I characterize China as ‘manipulative and scheming’ as feeding into the “yellow peril” stereotype, where Asian cultures are seen as decadent and corrupt (and some certainly have!) But I’m careful to not reduce China to a mere yellow peril stereotype- he’s a goofy overbearing old man who has bad taste in fashion, someone who’s frighteningly perceptive and intelligent, someone who confounds the understanding of even nations, someone who is not afraid to remake the world again and again in his image, yet is peacefully resigned to many things- his schemez are just one part of him, and with the context of his childhood and long long life, it becomes an actual character trait and not just a trope slapped on top with little thought.

2. Make them funny- None of my OCs are allowed to be unfunny. Unless their lack of humor makes them funny. In which that case that’s okay. Speaking seriously, I find that making my OCs entertaining or a giving them a comedic role to play really humanizes them! Not only does it give them certain quirks and flaws, it’s also a great way for people get attached to them and their relationships and conflicts (tho, I am someone who really likes drawing character interaction, so it may not be for everyone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

3. Themes- The development of a entire country, culture, people’s, etc, is extremely complicated and multifaceted and can never be put into a clean narrative, from start to finish. But I find that giving my characters certain recurring themes in their lives (whether it be a struggle for autonomy or difficulties with humanity vs. immortality) not only more naturally crops up in the actual history, it adds a lot of dimension as well as a look into their inner minds and struggles! Even for non-Hetalia characters, it makes writing for a character’s story a lot easier if you nail down what their themes/struggles/etc are.

4. Characters are Relative- Not every character needs to be like completely different from every other character you make in this universe. You should keep in mind that your characters will most likely be interacting with a limited set of other characters, and you need to make sure they stand out from while also matching with that set, not every other character. You can also characterize them by drawing contrasts or similarities between them, based on the relationship. Developing relationships with other characters in my experience is one of the best way to expand and flesh out a character in diff contexts!

I’ve mentioned this before but I gave my Tanzania OC dreadlocks to match Kenya, while also contrasting with her, as Kenya’s hair is pulled back from her face, while Tanzania’s is draped over her eye, which are also meant to communicate Kenya’s high energy and more ambitious nature versus Tanzania’s more relaxed and mild disposition.

FFVII Remake: The Big Five

Looking over the five leaders behind the making of Final Fantasy VII Remake and its sequels.

Kitase is rather famous for being a part of the game design process in Square but then getting so successful with hits like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI and of course Final Fantasy VII that he got promoted to the primarily business-related role of Producer. He strikes me as a nice enough guy, but he absolutely must be surrounded by people who his ideas can be bounced off of, because left alone some of ideas can be stupefyingly misguided. In the original Final Fantasy VII, he actually considered killing off every character not in the player’s party when parachuting into Midgar toward the end of Disc 2 and needed to be talked down from it. Similarly, he thought the Remake project could span just two installments with the prologue in Midgar as one, then everything else as the other, only for Nomura to persuade him to take the far more sensible and better paced option of making a trilogy. And when no-one talked him out of utilizing Sephiroth in the way he is utilized in Remake, the results were, of course, highly lackluster. So going forward, it would be good if Kitase stayed a little more hands off creatively and stuck to the business stuff. And speaking of “creative”...

What I said for Kitase goes double for Nomura. If he’s in total control, it’s a disaster because the man’s creative vision has become thoroughly corrupted by the desire to be “surprising” and pretentiously complicated. While he was made Director of Remake against his will, it comes as no surprise that he had it in mind by himself for a while. It looks like after Kitase gave up on whatever he was building toward with “the Compilation” (grown-up Denzel vs. Genesis somehow), Nomura thought up an alternative finale involving the Whispers and Arbiter of Fate alternate timeline bullshit that we ended up with in Remake. While he’s thankfully not going to be primary Director going forward, he’s still the “Creative Director” which means he still has the opportunity to further muck things up with his bullshit. Let’s hope the presence and contributions of the rest of the Big Five tempers it as best as possible.

Kazushige Nojima isn’t the best of JRPG scenario writers (and certainly isn’t a good literary writer), but he’s still a damn good one whose involvement here is appreciated. As I have noted before, he had far deeper, character-rooted aspirations for Advent Children that got drowned out by Nomura’s bombast, and that can be reflected in what he says here: how he say Cloud as he wrote him in Advent Children as “with kindness brimming from within” (which was not made apparent by Nomura’s direction), and how he talks about portraying Cloud here (which thankfully came across far stronger and to great acclaim). Whatever his faults, Nojima at least has a proper respect for the characters and is always trying his very best.

THIS guy. This guy right here is the key member of the Big Five who made Remake the success that it was, because of his boundless love and respect for the original game. Going back to what I said about Kitase; Kitase had apparently wanted even more changes and differences to the original in Remake, but Hamaguchi firmly held his ground against it. He understands that while doing a straight-up remake like fans demanded isn’t in the cards (justifiably so, I say), you also can’t venture so far as to be unrecognizable (like a good chunk of Kitase and Nomura’s “Compilation of Final Fantasy VII” did). This new series needs to feel like a valid retelling of the original story with the original characters in their original world. With him as the main Director for the next two games, I am optimistic that they’ll turn out all right.

Out of all the Big Five, I feel like Toriyama has the most to gain from this series keeping its success going. As a chief game designer, he got off to a promising start with Final Fantasy X and its sequel X-2, only to then have his reputation marred by the increasingly panned Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. Helping Nojima with the scenario of this new trilogy will thus serve as his redemption for that debacle. He’s certainly off to a good start, so I wish him the best of luck.
