Yeah so between the most recent wave of transphobia, multiple people I care about getting hit with this site's fucked moderation in different ways, and the site just seeming... less functional? Like has anybody else had issues just loading in for like, weeks now? I'm done with tumblr as my main social media site, at least for now. eh not really, I cleared both world 3 n 4 difficulty 2 with level 60 characters equipped w/ mostly purple relics (some even have blue ones LOL). as long as you have enough blessings of one path (i used abundance for world 3 and preservation for world 4) you should do fine

Been thinking about Zane because ive seen your posts and asks so this might be word salad, but to me Zane's always been a very calculated guy, his instances of violence tend to come out of necessity (in regards to his evil ass plots). That probably isn't worded the best but stick with me here

The best couple examples I can think of are when we first meet him, he threatens Aphmau + her village multiple times because he needs garroth to come back with him, like in Molly's house and outside the baby shower, its not that he doesn't enjoy causing violence (he clearly does), but he'd rather avoid it if possible because it causes issues for him - hes a guy in power, particularly iirc he was representing okhasis which atp was becoming a quiet monarchy and political fuck ups could, well, fuck him up. Another instance of this "necessary" violence was with jeffery, another political murder. Again, he enjoyed it, but he probably wouldnt have done it if jeffery didnt fuck up his plans and let aphmau and the lords go.

All in all, he was a very threatening guy, yeah, but he didn't like. go out of his way to do violent or cruel things no matter how fun or easy he found it to do, he was very smart.

i think a lot of people misremember how he was because of the s1 finale, the whole threatening to rip Aphmau apart line really stuck with people, but the way i view it was a moment of desperation (plus we dont know how the relic forms fuck with the wielders emotions, but idk how I feel about that kinda theorizing). Like imagine; Zane, a man who's predispositioned to necessary violence, reaches what could be said is his end goal (or pre-end goal, I don't remember what he was planning on using the relic for? to become some kinda god? irrelevant to me rn) and suddenly its RIPPED from him in an instant - but, there's no witnesses, no potential consequences, if he kills this woman and gets that relic he's got whatever power his mind has come up with, or she kills him and he fucking dies and atp it wouldn't matter to him anyway (side note, still hate that he turns into a shadow knight). of COURSE he's going to lash out, threaten her, threaten to kill her and take what he believes to be rightfully his.

An interesting thing I also noticed, is that after this occurs, his motivations stay ultimately the same when he dies and comes back as a shadow knight - now without support of a whole kingdom, he works in the shadows (haha pun) to get something he wants, and threatens Emmalyn (iirc it was emmalyn???? I could be wrong, we're saying its emmalyn) for it, holding her hostage away from the village, not bringing her out as a display or a hostage to get what he wants from the people, it'd blow his cover.

tl;Dr - Zane's violence and cruelty throughout the series is very calculated, he doesn't act without knowing (or having a good idea of) what the outcome is, and is really only shown to be excessively or "needlessly" violent when he hits a moment of deep, deep desperation and even then I imagine he had a good idea of what would happen afterwards, and decided to go through with the action whether it succeeded or not.

when you first saw trashcan gentleman, it was like your world was filled with a litter-free world. the way your eyes glimmered upon seeing his aluminum surface material, his thick, chiseled arms...

you were in love.

your first interaction with him was when he tested you, or rather, the little universe you found yourself stuck in at one point during your adventures in penacony. all these medallions you had to prove yourself worthy for was definitely worth it. especially when it was to impress the trashcan gentleman, too.

after your succession, you did everything you could to go back to him.

your valid infatuation with the object got worse, as you began to stalk and search for every trash can found in penacony. you kicked over recycling bins, trash dumpsters and everything. you felt like your soul mate shouldn't even be filled with the world's dumpster, so every time you had an empty can of soda in your hand, you decided to toss it into a recycling bin.

you thought that the trashcan gentleman deserved a clean, trash-free infestation in his body, so you never tried to throw any trash into it.

but finally, after trial and error, you found your one and only. you saw him lingering around near the corners of penacony, standing there menacingly, waiting for someone bold enough to test and surpass his trial.

but it was you.

"you're here, trailblazer!" he preaches as he stands there, literally unable to move due to game mechanics. he had feet, but have we seen this man walk before... rather than throw hands?

"i am," you say, approaching him, "i'm not here for a challenge, but a question."

a comical question mark appears the side of his head as he looked at you (he has no face but just pretend) with confusion. "aye... a question for me? what is it? is it something to do with my trials? my challenges? look, i have worthy rewards to give you. enough to level up your relics and your five star character-"

"i am in love with you. the moment i saw you, i knew no opponent could beat me. your strength alone... baffles me. it has my heart, as you do."

the trashcan froze. "... love?" he murmured, "what do you mean? you do realize you're talking to a-"

that was when you immediately lunged in, a lust-filled face embracing your visage as you knelt down, hugging the trashcan, "you don't understand. i'm in love with you. i want you. you're mine."

"w-wait!" the object sputtered, "what are you saying, trailblazer!? i i'm here to grant you a challenge! just break my shield and you'll pass! o-or i can just give everything to you... whatever you want!"

you were terrifying him, but you didn't care. you held him in a tight grip, disabling him from any movement. the trashcan was powerful already, but he couldn't move. you were a stronger opponent than anyone he's ever faced...

"p-please..." you hears the aluminum object murmur, wheezing, "let me go... i'll give you everything..."

"oh... everything? i already have of everything," you purred, before tightening your grip, "you're everything to me."

I don't have one thats an ultimate favorite, but I saw The Love Witch yesterday, and I think I'm going to make that movie my personality for a while. I like setwork and strong thematics a lot. Bram Stoker's Dracula, and The Great Gatsby (2013) are great too.

catastrophic autism moment. jin & casey's wols throughout the years with some silly things below the cut

so jin's wol has gone through a lotttt of changes LEGACY: catgirl because catboys aren't around yet first of all. jin actually played on launch! :D aurora break'r was there since day one, she was a pld through and through! no crazy notes aside from the weapon she's holding being the starter zodiac relics.

ARR: finally. catboy. the warrior zodiac relic because of Course he'd grind that out. he's also a warrior cuz he wnated to try out another tank, and... WAR was the only other one at the time. he also gave his WOL the FF13 collab hair because i knoww he'd like ff13. unfortunately i haven't finished it so i don't know much to add here. but he would like it. HSW: the start of his DRK arc. aurora has golden eyes atp because of hraesvelgr and i loveee doing that to peoples' wols. the gear that he uses here is his current DRK glam, too! :D sillay note.

STB: sorry. he saw his first chance to dress slutty and took it. the first two ultimates came out and he ate those uppppppp. he went back to PLD because apparently DRK & WAR didn't feel good during stb. also it's been awhile since he played it so. lul.
