- indoor locations with fire barrels but no chimney (Quonset Garage, Carter Hydro Dam, Hibernia Processing) give the affliction Carbon Monoxide Poisoning if you burn fires there for too long. You hear phantom wolf howls, moose bellows, sparking electronics. Your vision gets blurry. Cure is fresh air for a significant amount of time—sort of like Cabin Fever
- Effectiveness of medicine is chance-based. Manmade medicines in good condition are highly effective, but as their condition deteriorates, their chances of successfully curing an ailment decline. Natural remedies have a fixed ~75% chance to cure your ailment, so you might have to use more than one to get the benefit—but a fresh cup of reishi tea will still be a better bet than a bottle of 7% condition antibiotics. Gives players a reason to keep some antiseptic around instead of solely wrapping their infected wounds in lichen
- some kind of Wolf Fear setting that makes wolves flee from you 95% of the time, but still (rarely) stalk/attack. Bear, Timberwolf, and Moose aggression is unchanged. You still need to be wary while trekking through the woods, but wolves no longer provide a predictable source of food and pelts by throwing themselves at you constantly.
- Add a tiny chance that the bunny bites you while you’re staring into its eyes trying to decide whether or not to snap its neck. Minor affliction, minor damage to gloves. Major justice for bunny.

- re-remove the pork from the pork n beans and add pork to the ingredients list of all other canned goods
- change the Escape the Darkwalker challenge so that everything stays the same except the noises the Darkwalker makes are all fart sounds now
- change the Timberwolf growls to be recordings of dudes yelling. Just a bunch of “HEY. HEY. HEY YOU. YEAH YOU. YOU FUCKED UP. HEY. HEY FUCKER. HEY.”
- when the Aurora comes around, the computer inside the Milton Post Office boots up and somehow, Milton Library Assistant is there. He questions the player’s choices and discusses whether morality exists in the Quiet Apocalypse: “Do you find that you enjoy this lonely existence? Aren’t things so much less complicated now? Do you revel in having an excuse to be completely, thoroughly selfish for once—now that everyone you know and love is dead? How does that make you feel?”
