Here to lovingly ask for crumbs of the fem regulily fic those two have their teeth sunk so deep in me
most of the parts of the fic ive written so far either dont include lily yet or raea (the name reg chooses later on in the fic, i can explain the meaning in a separate post if yall would like) doesnt use she/her yet bc she hasnt realized that shes trans at that point in the fic, so this is truly a crumb but here you go!
this snippet takes place a bit after the first one i posted, so the same scene but not a direct continuation :)
same warnings as last time! internalized transphobia, proceed with caution!
“I’m sorry.”
Lily lets out a little sigh. “For what, crying?”
“No, not that,” she says in a mumble, the weight of the words too heavy to be spoken louder. For a brief moment, the hand on her cheek ceases movement and her stomach drops. This is it, she thinks. This is when she’ll finally leave.
“Regulus.” Lily’s free hand comes up to cup her other cheek, cradling her face gently. “Look at me.”
Another silent tear is wiped away as quickly as it falls and she lets out a shuddering breath, squeezing her eyes shut even tighter.
“Mo réalta,” she whispers, and Regulus’ gut swoops. She opens her eyes.
The first thing she sees is Lily, staring at her. Regulus’ face is wet and blotchy, and her eyelashes are clumped thick with tears. She feels gross. She’s sure she looks gross, too. And yet, Lily just… looks at her, truly looks at her. Her gaze pierces right through Regulus’ soul, and the very Earth falls beneath their feet.
“You don’t need to apologise for being yourself,” Lily says softly.

@regulilys on twitter pointed this little crumb out, and how Hermione’s line of sight is on Draco, while he can’t even look at her. I want to D-word, thanks 😭💔

Unbreakable kiss for Regulily!
Phew! This is probably the first kiss prompt I haven’t compulsively rewritten and restarted a million times, so hopefully it’s a good one - I enjoyed it, anyway!
-
There are kisses that are doomed from before the lips eventouch, from just the scattering of breath on each other’s mouth, from the mereprick of a thought of the kiss.
Lily Evans is destined for James Potter, and Regulus knowsthis – it’s common knowledge, after all, and he had been given a good elbowingby Sirius for even daring to suggest that he had feelings for her. Sirius couldbe nice enough to Regulus when he was in a good mood, and they had found themselvesdiscussing the situation during one of their free periods, perched on top ofthe tables in the Great Hall, Sirius breaking apart a scone and picking theraisins out before buttering it with so much abandon that his hands weregreasy. Regulus had spent his entire childhood casting spells to clean upSirius’s messy paws, and he wasn’t about to start again.
“I get that you like her,” he says, taking a chunk out of thepastry, “but I mean, they’re destined. We all know it. Just try and move on,get a crush on someone else – not that you’ll get much better than her since I’venabbed Remus, but you can try.”
Regulus sighs. Sirius claps him on the shoulder. “Chin up,”he says, offering a bit of his scone so small Regulus can barely see it, andthis just makes him sigh deeper.
“Piss off, Sirius,” he grumbles.
“More for me, then,” Sirius says cheerily, tossing the crumbinto his mouth before clambering off the table and disappearing off into thehallways.
-
Sneaking around the school grounds is something for thelikes of Sirius, and yet Regulus finds himself out at the night, blending intothe shadows that seem to cast themselves along the corridors. He can even hearthe voice that is unmistakeably James’s, laughing somewhere in the distance, and he pulls his dark cloak closer around him, cursing his luck, his legacy, his name.
He doesn’t know the secret passageways like the so-calledMarauders do, but he knows the occasional corridor that doesn’t lead anywhereat all, and he sits at the end of one of them, a candle flickering itssputtering light onto him. He reaches for his wand, to put it out lest ateacher find him, when he sees a figure at the end of the corridor; he snaps uplike a clam, ducking into the corner, when he realises that it’s not any of theteachers.
It’s Lily.
“Regulus?” she says, casting a Lumos and reigniting the flame of the candle so that it burnsstrongly. He straightens as he climbs to his feet. “What are you doing outhere?”
Sometimes, she has half a suspicion that he’s a vampire. Shefeels like he’s almost confirming it, out here, stalking at night; it neverhelps, Sirius and James goading the idea, planting her false evidence. He’sjust a Slytherin. They probably look so pale because their common room is inthe dungeon.
“Just walking,” he says haughtily. “What about yourself?”
“James and Sirius snuck out to see if they could steal foodfrom the pantry,” she says. “I got bored and was going to go back to the dorms, but I saw you and I was wondering what you were up to.”
“I just couldn’t sleep.”
“Me neither.”
In silence, they leave the castle and sit on the front lawn;the Scottish air is always cold in the night, even in the summer, and Reguluspasses her his cloak. Lily wears it pulled around her like a blanket, her hairshining like fire on top of its black surface; beautiful, as always. He’salways been captivated, never able to settle for someone else, like Siriussuggests.
“I’m not sure I’m going to pass my N.E.W.T.s,” Lily sayssuddenly and honestly.
“What makes you say that?” he asks, a frown decorating hisfeatures. “You’re intelligent.”
“I don’t know,” she says, “I’m just worried,” and Regulusrests a hand on her cheek, so delicate she’s not even sure he’s actuallytouching her, and leans in to kiss her. It’s doomed, and he is doomed, and LilyEvans will always love James Potter and is destined to marry him someday, buthe has this moment between them, this moment of the cold air and his warm cloakand the feeling of her lips on his.
She goes back inside, giving him his cloak back. Regulusstays outside until he sees the play of the sun in the depths of the sky, andonly then does he get up and hurry back indoors, wondering if he can catch upon that sleep if he says he’s ill.
For a man who’s doomed, he thinks he’s seen something ratherbeautiful.
