I went to the grocery store after to work to get Funfetti cake mix and rainbow chip frosting. Rainbow chip is superior than Funfetti frosting. But apparently my grocery store no longer carries it. As I walked away bummed out Tragedy by Bee Gees was playing 😂

I’ve always envied my dad for being so universally liked by everyone he meets. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be like him in that way but I’ve got my whole offputting autistic vibe going on. I had kind of resigned myself to being an acquired taste but my job has made me realize that maybe I can be likable. It’s nice :)

My response to art block these days has been redrawing my old pieces to see how I've improved. It's a nice confidence boost!

after having a birthday on 02-22-22 a bit ago, every birthday after has not felt as special

@sirswooshnoodles I have no insider information, it’s just context clues. Not only the fanciest house but adding “(by a mile)” to underscore it, as well that the person was “in awe” of the guy mowing his lawn. That’s not the normal reaction to someone being a jerk. Also the tweet says “our” and “us” when talking of their neighbors. They know everybody enough to be aware everyone got the cards, including the guy who started mowing. The cards did not invite people over or offer a treat, just asked everyone to be very quiet for them.

I just always had gentrification framed as richer white people moving into interracial and poorer communities (which were often built because the area was cheaper). It’s also replacing the cheaper, general stores (that can serve 2nd/3rd shifters) with specialty or novelty shops (cuz the people moving in will drive elsewhere to get groceries, etc). It’s not just replacing the people but also what the people need.  I don’t know if race has to be included, but it often is when it’s inner city.
