Jolene stood by the door transfixed by the sight of Awan holding her brother in his arms. How could this be happening? Awan was her boyfriend! Her mind was a maelstrom of conflicting emotions. Awan brought her flowers. Gave her the necklace she clutched in her hand. How could Awan do this to her? 

Disbelief and shock kept her from storming outside and confronting the no good, two timing cheater. To her horror Awan wasn’t only holding her brother but kissing him. KISSING. A roaring filled her ears like the entire power of the ocean was pouring over her head.

Betraying her like this. Cheating on her. HER! How dare he!

When the call was made and an end to her misery was in sight she couldn’t help but wonder if this was how Ethan felt. Betrayed by the man he loved. The pain of seeing the man he loved in the arms of another. The little touches. The tender looks. The kisses.

For Jia for the multigender ask game: 42, 43, 50

ahhh thank you!! this took me embarrassingly long to answer but here…!

42. What do they love most about being multigender? 

So, I’ve already touched on this once but it really does boil down to better understanding of herself. Before realizing he was multigender, Jia never felt like he was really a “man”. Outside of how she was perceived, internally she never could fully align herself as a man –she was always lacking somewhere, somehow. But once he got to embrace being multigendered, once he could understand himself as both a man and a woman. Things really did just fall into place. Not to be dramatic or anything, but she could finally make sense of herself in totality. There was no awkward gap between what she should be and what she was. 

Going to get a little personal here but I had a really tough time coming around to the label of bigender. I figured I was bigender like 3 years before I accepted the label for myself. I fought so hard against it. I stuffed myself into a bunch of different labels from transmasc (which I still use tbh) to agender to gender apathetic to demigirl. But bigender was always, always, always the label that made the most sense. It was what made everything click to me. Even when I denied that it suited me, I knew it did. There’s a relief in knowing that I wasn’t a broken girl, I just couldn’t fall in love with being a woman till I saw myself as a man too.  

43. What’s the most difficult part about being multigender for them? 

Ohh, there’s a lot of things I could put in here but I think a big thing for him is community and presentation. I think Jia is kind of hesitant to blur presentation lines for her multiple genders. The distinction matters to her in a way she doesn’t like. I think a large chunk of the fear is that he feels a need to prove that he’s multigendered, that he should be able to pluck apart the way he presents and clearly delegate which one is for “boy jia” or “girl jia” –and she hates that!! She doesn’t want to but it feels like if he doesn’t constantly reinforce that he is bigender then the people won’t think she is and she wants people to know she is. 

As for community, Jia wants multigender friends. It’s a little lonely being the only multigender person he knows. Just… someone who gets it, y’know? 

50. Wild card! Mention anything else you want!

Jia’s feelings on her masculinity is something I literally never touch on but this is the perfect time to. Her feelings are… complicated. Like I’ve said before, being a man never felt quite right for a large chunk of jia’s childhood and, by extension, neither did masculinity. 

Considering that his father is Regean, Jia always had a specific version of masculinity pushed on him: the domineering, sauve, lady-killer type that his dad very much tried to be. During the best years of Charity and Regean’s marriage, this was an ideal of masculinity encouraged by Charity as well. Men, as she was told, were supposed to be low-maintance, able to hold and protect their relationship with a firm hand from threats both intrinsic and extrinsic, and were meant to head a relationship –his woman should defer to him. 

Well. Jia wasn’t that. Even when puberty hit and she gained muscle mass + facial hair + a deep voice, she never became the always lording patriarch –she never became a “man”. Most crucially, he’d fallen prey to the idea that that was the only way to be a man so even when he’d started exploring his queerness and trying to figure out what it meant to be him, he did so within the idea that he could never be a man because men were supposed to be one way and he didn’t fit into that one way. 

It takes her an embarrassingly long time to realize that the definition of a man is something she can define for herself. The very same way she’s defining what it means to be bigender to herself, so can she define what the genders that comprise her mean to her. I think the minute that reality settles into her, it’s one of those things that makes her groan with how simple it is to realize. So, despite being pretty young when she realizes something’s a lil funky with her gender, it takes him forever to actually explore the queerness of his masculinity.

I mean there a fuckton more, but saying no one was happy in the 50’s is like saying no one was happy in the 00’s-10’s because I lost my mother, had a abusive stepmom, and end up in foster care.

Also why you guys using Hollywood as the basic for 50’s knowledge? That like using tik tok or modern tv as the basics for how all zoomers and millennials acted.

yup, that was my whole point on it. still confused how survivorship bias plays into anything there, unless she read it differently than I did which is possible.

I'd love to go back to the way things were in the 50's from a financial standpoint at least, could do without the racism and fear of nuclear annihilation maybe some of the experiments with aspic too.

Things were both easier and harder, it's not so much that things cost more now in some cases, it's that there's more to spend it on that's considered a necessity.

[Y/N] asked as he pulled out his phone and started texting his girlfriend that he was going to the Burger Shack to meet with the Members of the Gaming Team to talk about what games each of the 7 Members was going to play for the upcoming Charity Event, he stood there and looked at his phone for a while before a text came back in, causing him to smile at the text:

[Y/N] closed his eyes as he thought about his loving girlfriend, Nicky Reagan. Although they were around the same age, [Y/N] was much taller than her, and she loved that about him. Whenever they went out on dates, Nicky would sometimes complain about her feet hurting and [Y/N] would carry her princess-style without question. He would tell her that one day, he was going to make her his queen.

Before [Y/N] and Nicky started dating, [Y/N] collected offerings for the Reagan family. He got down on his hands and knees, bowed his head until it touched the ground, and asked for the honor of dating Nicky. At first, Daniel Reagan didn't like the idea of Nicky dating anyone. However, seeing how kind [Y/N] was, and with some convincing from his family, he agreed to let [Y/N] and Nicky date.

When Nicky was kidnapped and later rescued, [Y/N] used his Gamer Funds to buy a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment that was situated near both their colleges. He designated one room for himself, one for Nicky, and one for his Gaming Room and Office. [Y/N] also ensured that Nicky's room had locks, and he gave her the only key to guarantee her privacy. This made the Reagan Family trust [Y/N] more around Nicky. Apart from working as a gamer, [Y/N] also made animations and had a decent salary, which he used to pay for all the rent and bills. He aimed to provide Nicky with the best life possible and promised to make it even better when he proposed to her.

Currently, Y/N was sitting in the [Y/G/T] booth at Burger Shack. The Leader of the Team paid monthly rent to keep their booth untouched, only allowing it to be used when the place was filled. [Y/N] was munching on his second cheeseburger while listening to his leader and friends talking about the game selection list. Upon seeing that Resident Evil 2 was on the list, [Y/N] swallowed the burger pieces before asking if he could play Resident Evil 2 for his section of the charity event. The leader agreed and reached into his back to pull out the Resident Evil 2 game for PS5, handing it to [Y/N] before giving everyone else their games. Once they finished their food, [Y/N] hopped on his motorcycle and headed to his apartment.

[Y/N] logged into the Charity Event with his Gamer ID from the [Y/G/T] Membership and looked at the Charity Goal - for his contribution, his goal was a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $20,000. When he logged in to start the stream, there were thousands of people already waiting for him; he had his headband on with his team's symbol and greeted the people waiting for him.

"Hello, viewer! [Y/G/N] here with the long-awaited Charity Event Stream! I am hoping to reach a goal of $10,000 for my contribution but if Lady Luck is on our side today, then we can make it all the way to $20,000 for our part! Please, consider donating to the fund via the link in the description and, if you can't donate, please comment and enjoy the stream; your words shall keep me going! Without further ado, let's get gaming!"

Time ticked on, [Y/N] played while taking small breaks to answer questions or take a sip of water [REMEMBER TO HYDRATE EVERYONE!]. So far, the donations exceeded the minimum and they were now flowing to the maximum. [Y/N] was so into the game that he didn't hear his door open until one of the comments told him to look behind him, [Y/N] turned around to see his girlfriend with a plate of [Favorite Food] and a smile on his face as he pulled his headphones off his head and placed them around his neck.

"My Queen, is there something I can help you with?" [Y/N] asked as Nicky placed the food on the serving tray by his setup before kissing him on the cheek.

"I just thought you would want some food for your event, I know how important this is to you." Nicky said before looking at the comments that were asking her who she was and all the cuteness they were; there was even one persona saying that if her boyfriend called her his queen, she would have proposed to him. [Y/N] got an idea and unplugged his headphones and connected his microphone before having Nicky sit on his lap.

"Viewers, I would like all of you to meet Nicky - The Queen of my Heart and Center of my Universe." [Y/N] smiled before kissing the back of Nicky's hand as she used the other one to wave at the camera.

"Hey, everyone!" Nicky said before leaning against her boyfriend's body and asking him if she could watch him play, he said he would be blessed to be in her company.

The game continued while Nicky rested against her boyfriend's body when a cutscene started to introduce a new enemy. Nicky watched and her eyes widened when the new enemy was displayed

"AHHHHH!!!!"

"My Queen?! What's wrong?! WHOA!"

*THUMP*

[Y/N] wrapped his arms around Nicky just as his back hit the ground and he dropped his controller and by some weird stroke of luck, the game paused. [Y/N] looked down at Nicky as she buried her face into his neck, was she scared of the Licker? He started rubbing her back until she calmed down and looked at him.

"My Love, did the Licker scare you?" He asked.

"That thing is called a 'Licker'? With a tongue like that, I can see it." Nicky shivered as she clung to her boyfriend's shirt as he picked both of them up and sat back in the chair before picking up the controller and looking at the comments: all of them asking if The Queen was okay.

"Don't worry, everyone! The Queen is safe, she just doesn't like Lickers." He said.

Comments: WHO DOES?!

"Yeah. Point taken." [Y/N] said before resuming the game and saying every single Licker in the game of his queen. The night ended, and the goal was met, [Y/N] wished everyone a goodnight before logging out and sending his part of the funds to the charity. Nicky refused to let go of him and they decided to sleep on the sofa in the Gaming Officer.

"So, how is my Gaston doing?" Andy asked, running her hands up and down EJs arms in a comforting manner.

The show was starting soon and she had to admit that this was the most nervous she had ever been for a show before.

Usually it was pre show jitters based on embarrassing herself and being humiliated.

Now if she messed up the entire show could be ruined and they wouldn't have a chance at thr menkkes.

EJ started speaking which cut her out of her melancholy thoughts, "Great, how'd you like the costume?" He asked, twirling around sarcastically.

"Its good, maybe not the eyebrows though, they're kind creepy," She said, kissing him.

He placed his hand on her cheek, keeping her there so he could kiss her again.

The two pulled away just before Miss Jenn walked in the room, everyone turning their attention to her, "As you know, there is a judge out there who is very essential to this theatre program," she explained everything to them, trying to motivate them.

"Where is LeFou?" She asked and Big Red ran in, his face red.

"Sorry, just some work I was doing," he said before running off to throw up.

Everyone stood there for a moment, wondering what was going on with him.

The group started to disperse, looking for something to calm their nerves.

The show started and, after her first scene as a stand in silly girl after Willow Regean dropped out, they waited.

Adding to that, EJ was definitely attracted to her in that slightly too tight dress that the silly girls wore as she fawned over him.

She was still in her costume as a silly girl, her scene as Chip not coming up yet, and they stood in the back of the theatre.

He looked around to make sure that there was nobody there before he reached round, his hand coming to rest on her lower back as he pulled her in for a kiss.

She kissed him back as soon as she got over the initial shock, her chest pressed up against him and he hummed into the kiss.

"What was that for?" She asked when she pulled away, still pressed against him.

EJ smirked, "You're just so pretty, the most beautiful girlfriend I could ever want," he said.

Her cheeks heated up at the comment and she laughed, his face lighting up at the sound.

He looked at her, hands running up and down her body as they just talked about nothing.

After he got enough kissing in between their scenes, they decided to go and stick their heads out of the curtain, watching the audience.

Her family caught their eye, waving at them and the couple waves back, pulling away when they heard their names being called.

"Mr Caswell, I suppose if you're a second semester senior that this is your last opening night," Mr Mazzara said.

"Yeah, but I uh, get to spend it with the girl of my dreams so," he said, pulling her into his side and she just chuckled, telling him to watch the dress.

"Is your family here?" Mr Mazzara asked, gesturing to the curtain.

"My dad is in the third row if that's what you're asking. And Andys family are cheering us on," he explained.

The teacher smiled to himself. He had watched both of them grow so much together.

He had seen the drama with EJs father, had heard about his anxiety attacks so it was nice to know that he was here supporting him.

It was also nice that his girlfriends family was there to support him as well as her.

"I bet he's proud," Mr Mazzara said with an equally proud expression.

"Mr Mazzara. You really did me a favor by helping me out with everything," he said before they had to go check their outfits.

Later on, after the show had started, Miss Jenn gathered all those who weren't on stage in the back during Gaston.

"Wildcats, I am mostly proud. Every performance needs an X factor," she explained that they were going to spotlight the judge.

Everyone looked confused before they were called on to perform Be Our Guest, one of the biggest numbers of the show.

They all thought it was a bit too much and a little dramatic but they listened to Miss Jenn anyway.

After a great ending to the first act, they all stood in the back, EJ and Andy talking together.

She was now changed out of her silly girl costume which was hung up in the other room and was now in the chip outfit.

"You were great babe," EJ said, a smile on his face as he gushed about his girlfriend.

"You were great too, you're always great. Im proud of you," she said, the two walking through the hallways.

The words made his face light up. He didn't have many people who told him that he was proud of him

"Sweetie!" A voice yelled out and Andy recognised her mum who rushed towards her.

"Hey mum," she said as her mum hugged her.

She wondered where the rest of her family were but she assumed they were still sitting down.

She smiled at the couple, "You two did amazing, I'm sure your dad is so proud of you," Sophie said as she hugged EJ and Andy, the two looking at each other.

"Five minutes!" Natalie Bagley called out and EJ and Andy looked at each other, knowing it was time to go.

"I'll leave you two, have a good rest of the show," she said, smiling at the duo before walking off with her family.

"Your family are the best," EJ said and Andy looked at him confused, "You know, because they're always so supportive of you and care,"

It made her a little bit sad because she knew that his family wasn't the same - it was all a little foreign to him.

Andy chuckled, "Well, you're part of this family now so," she stated, smiling up at him, it was in moments like this that she remembered how much taller he was than her.

She grabbed his hands, looking up at him. She just wanted him to feel like was welcome and that he had people supporting him.

EJ smiled down at her. He liked being able to he part of a real family for once.

"Come on, lets have a great second act," EJ said, still holding onto her hands

The show was nearly at the close and they were ready to fit Ricky into the harness for the Beasts scene, but they couldn't find it.

Everyone panicked, Andy still searching for it with everyone else as they needed this to win the Menkies.

Without it, they weren't going to be able to get enough points in the technical set up and she was starting to stress out.

"Oh for heavens sakes can't you just jump off something high?" Miss Jenn yelled, a shocked look on hers and everyone else's face as she said that.

Everyone went silent and Miss Jenn recanted her statement, leaving everyone shocked.

"Ricky, lets just spin you around without the harness and you can toss the mask into the wings," Nini suggested.

She comforted everyone and they prepared for the rest of the show, which would hopefully go better.

I think it is interesting to note that Regean was vaguely pro-gay for a time before the AIDS crisis happened. He at least had a large number of gay friends(before he let them die) and was against anti-gay legislation as well (before he wanted to get re-elected)

19. What’s their realistic “transition goal”? 

Realistically, Jia would want top surgery to get A or B cups because she’d have boobs and still be small enough for her to pass as flat chested. He already imagines that his flat chest are A cups but he’d like to, you know, make that more of a reality than an imagination. He’s interested in hormone replacement therapy but… it is something that she’d have to consider more. (Mostly because she’s super interested in estrogen but has some squicks about how it’d affect her facial hair + voice!). 

Honestly, Jia has given up on any transition goal that isn’t largely cosmetic. Vampires are incredibly inert to change meaning that hormones, surgery, etc. are all out of the question. <- It was Hard for him to come to terms with that. I think he’s always imagined someday those were all things he’d get to do, you know? And now… he can’t. 

However, he does try wherever he can! For example, he tentatively uses breastplates from time to time. It’s a… hit or miss because sometimes it just makes her incredibly dysphoric and sometimes it helps. Or letting her body hair grow more than usual for a while. 

20. If anything was possible, what would their ultimate transition goal be? 

Her ultimate transition goals are so polar that she’d have to be a shapeshifter. She wants to be flat-chested with a well kept beard and something of an otter (as in a slender, semi-hairy man, not the animal). At the same time he wants to have a soft face and soft eyes with slender fingers and less body hair. He… almost embarrassingly enough… wants to look cute… 

21. Do they present differently depending on which gender they’d like to be perceived as? Do they not care, and wear whatever they want? 

She does! The change is rather subtle because, regardless of gender, she has a very feminine presentation. I mean, you can judge for yourself between [this] and [this] pictures or even in [his lookbook] what the difference is. It really is hard to put into words what, exactly, distinguishes her dress when Jiahao is trying to be seen more as a girl or a boy. 

34. How does being multigender impact their romantic or intimate relationships? 

Jia likes to think it doesn’t. But it really does. Jia doesn’t get into a lot of serious relationships. He likes relationships a lot! Likes being in one too! But there’s a hesitancy in him when it comes to getting more serious. She… expects a lot from a partner especially when it comes to her gender. She wants to make it extremely clear how she sees herself, how she expects to be treated, things she won’t tolerate, etc… but the only way to communicate that is to… sit down and talk it out. <- Jia hates that and she knows it’ll be easy to accidentally hurt her and she doesn’t want to be hurt like that. So… she lets a lot of relationships slip through her fingers. 

36. How has being multigender impacted their relationships with their family?

For the most part, its impacts have been rather minimal…? Her sister is accepting and her mother is understanding (kind of) and Jia isn’t super sure what Regean’s stance is.

I avoid it because I don't like being blamed for problems I had nothing to do with and that's what a lot of it boils down to these days.

It gets really old really fast and the constant push has finally gone far enough to generate a response, which would be why if you look around different programs that benefit specific demographics are getting sued for violating the civil rights act.

Federal program for farmers that pretty much excluded white people got sued and some scholarship programs got the same treatment, bunch of other stuff too.

A lot of these things have been round for a while and nobody bothered with them till someone got fed up and decided to actually do something.
