I know that many people have shared the Shehab family's old campaign, which was recently frozen by GoFundMe after raising more than €78K in donations. (See this post for information.)

They now have a NEW campaign, the link above, but because they had to start over, as of 11:30 GMT on 14 November 2024, they are only up to $1,005 CAD / $100,000 CAD.

Fahed (@fahedshehab-new) and Reem urgently need to get a new tent that will keep their children warm in the winter. (Their current tent will not.) The Shehabs have set a short-term goal of $5,055 CAD for this purpose. Right now, the family still needs at least $4,050 CAD (around $3,000 USD) to reach this short-term goal. (The odd amount is to make sure they can cover the transfer and bank fees.)

As a result of the Israeli bombardment, Khalid Nabhan's grandchildren, 3-year-old Reem and 5-year-old Tarek, were martyred.

The world came to know him through a video of him kissing his late granddaughter Reem's eyes and calling her "the soul of my soul." "I was hoping they were just sleeping." said. "I kissed him, but he didn't wake up."

In an interview with CNN "They always wanted fruit, but there was no fruit because of the war. I could only find them these tangerines." said. But they never had a chance to eat them.

Reem was 3 years old and her favorite game was playing with her grandfather Khalid's beard. It was his grandfather's world, and Israel took his world from him.

In yesterday's Juventus-Inter match, the players and technical team went on the field by drawing the wound on little Reem's cheek on their own cheeks to announce Halid's pain to the world.

I am adding this note upon the warning of a follower. This wasn't something done for Reem herself. It was held to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November. However, these images were shared by people to draw attention to the murder of little girls in Gaza. If we are talking about drawing attention to violence against women, I think it would not be wrong to say that this primarily includes girls like Reem. I thank my follower for reminding me again what it was made for. And for whom.

There are many painful stories like Reem and Khalid in Palestine. Continue to be the voice of Palestine and stand against Israel's oppression. Because every person living in the world right now is a living witness of the Palestinian Genocide. And it is our duty as humanity to stand against this genocide.

New Dove Design

I am absolutely in love with the Reem Kufi font (on the left), it's a beautiful blend of historical and modern design (though a little hard to read if you're still new to Arabic, haha). The Arabic characters were designed by Khaled Hosny if you want to check out the artist. I've used it for a bunch of simpler designs as well on my Redbubble recently.

As usual, ALL PROCEEDS from these designs are for my Palestinian best friend, to help his girlfriend afford to join him safely in America and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He is a brilliant scientist and the kindest man I have ever known, I hate seeing him suffer like this and want to help in whatever small way I can.

As we wish Reem and Khaled a happy birthday, please remember that Reem's brother, Tarek was murdered that day, too.

I think we focus on Reem a lot because she's the one seem in the video. But Tarek died that day, too, and we need to remember him.

“I combed his hair like he would always ask me to, like a photo he would always show me,” Nabhan said. “He loved his hair like that, now he’s gone.”
