Blog Update

Hello hello! Not a huge blog update, but one none the less-

~Sinbad's entry on Sera's relationships page ( @voyagerofthesun ) has been rewritten! The information added since I initially wrote the entry now makes more sense and fits in easier into their timeline, and all their children are mentioned now, rather than just Shayan. <3 Should be easier to read now~

~Also rewritten for Sera is Yuma ( @tsukuseki ) and Ja'far ( @red-string-assassin ) <3

~Seun now has an FC in Rem Tokimiya, from Final Fantasy Type-0! owo

~A slightly bigger note: Aoi's Yugioh GX verse has moved. Aoi herself will remain here, on this blog, as well as her TWEWY and Darurura!! verses, but her GX verse is now over at the sideblog @getyouraoion. Any threads I had going for this verse will be moved and replied to there. Again, the only thing moving to this blog is that one verse, and the rest will remain right here. My apologies for any messes this makes.

Not part of the update, but a note: I am still on semi-hiatus until the evening of  9/27. Heading home after Irma is taking longer than I thought it would, so I've still been staying with family in Mass. I'll be flying home tuesday (9/26) evening and getting my bi-weekly shot as soon as I get in, but I won't be home until after midnight on any front, thus holding the semi-hiatus until I get on the following day - This also applies to my other blogs at @aranyhidx  and @sindriansun. To those waiting on me for threads, I'm so sorry for the delay and will have them out for you when I can; some things are just awkward to write with my uncle walking around. XD

As always, I love you all and I can't wait to go home-! <3

Esra sighed, albeit softly. Honestly... Ja'far was a hard worker, something she'd come to learn rather well since she'd found her way to Sindria, but to work through two meals in one day? Sinbad had advised her to simply let the man work, to not bother him, but after tugging his ear until he got to his own work, she'd found herself unable to rest without doing something for her son's closest friend.

And yet, this was not the sight she'd expected to find when she'd taken a tray of food into the official's office. Stacks of papers and scrolls practically lined his desk, the man himself staring at the document he'd been working on for god knows how long with such intensity she was surprised it hadn't caught on fire yet. Part of her wondered how much of it was his own work, and how much of it things Sin had put off... She needed to have a talk with her son, really. Passing things off to Ja'far like this was not how a king did his job.

“Ahem- Ja'far?” With the reminder to scold tucked into the back of her mind, the mother in her rose to the foreground, and Esra ducked past several stray scrolls on the floor to approach the advisor's desk. “Forgive me for interrupting, but it's not good to skip meals like this. You need to eat- I've brought you a tray for dinner, and I won't take no for an answer.” But she would wait until he made room for it, unwilling to possibly dirty such important work. She was proud of him, of Sin, of everyone who worked so hard to make the kingdom they stood in; she'd not risk that for anything. “The fish smells delicious. You have some talented cooks here.” So said the woman who'd been there for four months.

     “Hm?” A questioning noise is made from the dragon, brow ticking up in curiosity at the sudden call from the adviser. A finned ear twitches, amber eyes blinking for a moment as he shifts from glancing over his shoulder to turning on his heels. Best to face him properly, instead of rudely keeping his back turned on Ja’far. But still it’s one thing that makes him wonder, what in the world could he have wanted?

     “What can I do for you, Ja’far? Do you need assistance?”

Despite her words, Scheherazade offered the advisor a warm smile. She was supposed to meet with Sindria’s king but unforseen circumstances have brought her his trusted right-hand man instead. All the same, she supposed. It was rumored that Sindria’s advisor had great influence in the country’s trade and diplomatic affairs so this visit will not be in vain.

“Welcome, Lord Ja’far. I hope your king recovers swiftly from his... what did he say it was - injury-causing carelessness?“

She tittered.

“I must say, correspondences from Sindria are quite colorful.”

   “My, have you grown,” Yunan commented after landing on the floor. Sindria was about to be founded, so the old magi wanted to see how things were going for himself, while being careful to avoid Sin, that is. 

Ja’far was still rather small, but he used to be much tinier. It didn’t take away how adorable he remained however. 

   “It’s been a while since I last saw you. When was it again? Two years ago? Or earlier?” Yunan easily lost track of time after spending so much time at the Rift.

♉️: What is true strength?

“Being able to forgive. To hold your head high and continue on. To not let your past, or anything really, weigh you down and prevent you from taking another step forward. Things may hurt, and some hurts never heal, try to dig their claws into you and keep you in their grasp forever, but true strength is telling it ‘no’ and getting up to face each day, even when you feel your worst. Because you know you’re not alone.”

♋️: When was a time when you were at peace? 

“Mm, there’s a lot of peace of late.” Sera paused to laugh, hiding it behind one lightly-closed fist. “Ah… One of the first times was… The first time I woke up in Sin’s arms as a couple. I remember I’d had a nightmare in the middle of the night, and he was holding me when I feel asleep again… And still was when I woke up. We’ve been sleeping that way right along but it reminded me I’m home. I’m safe. Everything is right.”

♏️: What is one thing you cannot stand in a person?

“Willing deceit. Even as honest as I am, I know there are times you must lie to save your own hide and that of those you love, though I still can’t condone it. But it’s when there’s no reason to lie and someone will willingly deceive another just for the fun of it or to hurt them… I can’t stand that. There’s no reason for it.”

♓️: Is there something in your past you would change? 

“….A part of me wants to say everything. I’d change it all, erase the pain and the heartache… But I have to answer no. It’s because of everything I lived through, because I survived, that I am who I am today, and why I’m here and not somewhere else. I like to think fate brought Sin and I together, but had things been different, who’s to say I would’ve still ended up in Sindria with him? Fate put me through the wringer for a reason, and I found it. I may still have nightmares, and it may still bother me, but I couldn’t change anything when it brought me here.”

Well, if the choice was to continue his adventure with a butter knife for a sword, or settle down and eat so he could do his lessons...  Really, what did Ja'far think he'd pick? Because the answer certainly wasn't lessons!

Bouncing out of his chair, Shayan waved the knife around, pretending to jab at random monsters popping up out of nowhere. “B' this 's th' best part! Y' see, all th' monsters come out f' th' adventurer, right? Then y' gotta fight 'em off an' save th' villagers an' make it s' they're safe! Like this!” With a wide grin, the young prince attempted to show off some of the moves he'd been learning during his swordsmanship training....

And just as quickly tripped over his own feet, crashing to the floor and dropping the knife. The serrated edge cut into the side of his hand in the process, winning a hiss of pain; at least it didn't look bad? Just a little cut, unlike the beating his ego'd just taken. How could he show off that move?! “...'M fine- Jus' fine... Don' g' tell m' mom. She'll freak.” Oh, how glad he was his parents couldn't make lunch with them that day...
