by the time i got to my tablet tonight, i no longer had ideas on what to draw for Good Omens. So i ended up just redrawing one of my favorite frames from an old animatic of mine. B/c i just wanT TO SEE THEM HAPPY, DAMN IT!

Hi fellow Destiel Fanartists! Are you looking for a fun challenge to start your creative year 2024? Are you up for getting to know some fellow fanartists on a deeper level? Then you are at the right place. Welcome to our first Destiel DTIYS Challenge!

What does DTIYS mean?

It means “Draw This In Your Style”. This is an art challenge where artists draw an already existing artwork, but in their own style.

So, how does it work?

There will be two Phases in this challenge:

Phase One: Secret Valentines

In Phase One, Artists will sign up to parttake and then get assigned a Secret Valentine. They will then redraw one of their Secret Valentine's existing artworks, reimagined in the Artist's own style.

Phase Two: Open Challenge

In Phase Two, everyone, signed up or not, can parttake in the DTIYS challenge. For this, a list of artists who signed up for it will be posted and you can redraw their art in your style.

When will this take place?

You can sign up for Phase One until February 9th. Posting is scheduled for February-March. You can sign up as a listed artist for Phase Two until March 10th. Posting is scheduled for March-April. For further details check under the cut.

General Rules

You can use both digital and traditional media. You are not allowed to use AI tools in this challenge. If you have your own ideas, want to draw the character in a slightly different pose or change colors, you are free to do so. However the artwork should still be recognizable as a redraw of the original artwork. This challenge is open to participants of all experience levels.

This is an art challenge to celebrate Destiel fanartists and their diversity in style. Therefore, only Destiel fanart is allowed.

Both SFW and NSFW art are allowed, please mind the according Tumblr terms and conditions and post only a link to your art, if necessary. Minors are not allowed to parttake for this reason. If you sign up, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and ableism will not be tolerated in this challenge.

Everyone is then free to redraw their pieces and post them under the tag #destieldtiys2024, with a link to the original artwork and their @. Their art will be reblogged to this blog.

Welcome to the first (of hopefully many!) Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency screenshot redraw challenges!

Who can participate: Literally anyone. Are you an established artist? Join! Is this literally your first time putting pen to paper? Join! Have you been a Dirk Gently fan since Douglas Adams first pitched the book to publishers? Join! Is this the first time you’ve ever heard of this show and/or book series? Join! And consider watching the show, we love recruiting fans.

What is it: Literally just take the screenshot in question, and redraw it! Here is our inaugural screenshot:

Draw in whichever style you like! Stick figures, photorealism, abstract shapes and colours meant to represent the image — it doesn’t matter! This isn’t a challenge anyone can win, it’s all about community building and fostering creativity. Hell, go ahead and remove the “drawing” part out of the challenge and make it out of play-dough, I just wanna see what you come up with!

When: I am currently typing this on the afternoon on August 1st, 2024, and I am officially calling this challenge OPEN. I’ll reblog any and all entries that I see, and I’ll do a master post with links to all entries on September 1st. It's the start of the 3rd Term 2024 Inuyasha Fandom Awards!

We hope everyone has had a good start to the year! A huge shout-out to everyone who participated last term and made it such a huge success! We look forward to all of the amazing new fanfiction and fanart to be shared with this beautiful community! (If you have not received your award banner for last term, please reach out to one of the mods asap!)

At the end of last term, the voting form also included the possibilities of the Roulette Categories for this term, and we have taken the top choices for both Fanart and Fanfiction:

The Fanfiction Roulette Category for this term will be Best Friendship Portrayal. This is defined as: A story that has a primary relationship between two characters that have qualities of trust and intimacy. Revolves around a strong bond and mutual affection.

The Fanart Roulette Category for this term will be Best Improved Artist. This is defined as: Two illustrations of the same artwork that showcase the improvement an artist has made. The most recent image of the set should be posted within the last three years, and it must be a redraw of one of the artist's older works.

In addition, we added a Roulette Romance category for both Fanfiction and Fanart. This term the pairing chosen will be Best MirSan Romance (Miroku x Sango). This will be a category for both Fanart and Fanfiction.

For Fanfiction, it will be defined as: Stories that have developed a believable romance between Miroku and Sango. "Believable" is subjective, and it is up to those nominating/voting to draw their own line on that quantifier and vote their "Best". This includes canon universe and AU/AR settings.

For Fanart, it will be defined as: Any romantic depiction of Miroku and Sango.

The original Best Romance categories will remain, so all non-InuKag or MirSan pairings, including LGBTQ+, can be nominated into that category. All other pairings will be up for voting again next term.

If it wasn't mentioned above, chances are it hasn't changed. Please be aware that the moderators always take suggestions regarding how the awards are run and category changes into consideration, and each new term may bring about new changes.
