“What stopped you?” Warren asked. He remembered Jean’s mom. The Professor wasn’t around that day so he acted like a spokesperson as he showed her parents around the school. She was a very nice lady, from what he could recall of the visit. He leaned up against the wall carefully. Still bruised and battered from his fall the other day. Sporting a large trench coat that did an excellent job at hiding his un-harnessed wings and various injuries. “I see my mom all the time.” He said, his voice wispy as if far off. His parent’s bodies remained on their forgotten world but he had some gravestones put up anyway. Just to visit. His mind pictured the stones when he said he visited his mom. And the memory he last had of her followed quickly after. Limp in his arms as he carried her up into the clouds. Giving her the illusion that he’d take her off to Heaven with him. His heart sank but he pushed past it easily like Jean couldn’t read his mind. “Your mom was pretty cool when I met her.”

There was an utter relief that came with seeing Jean on her feet without that past prolonging fear deep in her eyes. He cursed that fear toxin, even now, for all it did to the people Scott loved and swore to protect. He was grateful to see her free of it’s burden and back to the raging fire he’d come to know from her. The clear happiness it brought him was set forth right on his face, a smile of pure and utter delight at her safety. “Jean!” He ran to her side and Scott couldn’t do much to help himself from throwing his arms around her. Her lips met his much to his shock (and perhaps hers), it appeared to be something that appeared in a burst of joy. It was quick to end just as it’d been to begin with his arms encircling her in a tight embrace soon afterward. His face blushing red into the hug as soon as his actions caught up with him. Did they just--- ?

That was a close one! Holy crap, that car had been inches from hitting her. They had seen her too, it had been hella intentional. Shit. That was too close for comfort. She was glad Spiderman hadn’t been the one to save her, she didn’t need Peter being more concerned then his usual level of anxiety but she didn’t know who to thank. MJ had felt something almost magnetic push her away but instead found a redhead. It had felt so strong, not like the girl before her. Well, regardless if it felt weird or not she still owed gratitude to her. “Thanks.” MJ said. “I owe you like, three.”
