Since I'm a big fan of Elias drawing Redline was a real treat, but he seems really complex so check out their writings if you're interested in his character

??
I feel like this could be spun into an alternative universe fan fiction!!
Warning for brief mention of homophobic views.
Charles as an 18 year old student going to some kind of school event like homecoming.
He came out earlier that year and has not had the best time of things and feels lonely and awkward. He loves F1 and just soaks up all the F1 content to distract himself when things are going badly. His favourite driver is Max because not only is Max also gay but Max also has this zero fucks attitude to negative people.
Charles jokingly types out a message into the Team Redline stream thinking nobody will see it. He asks Max to his homecoming because he has nobody else who will speak to him let alone come with him and he doesn't want to go alone and be ridiculed. He is not expecting a response, he just wants somewhere to vent. Max sees the message and just goes "Yeah sure, send the details!" and actually goes with Charles and keeps him company.
It's just a really sweet gesture by Max to help a fan that is struggling (I have seen irl stories of celebs going to proms with people). He drives Charles to the dance in a fancy car, dances with him and gives him a kiss on the cheek at the end of the night.
Charles is just so overwhelmed but has the best night imaginable and goes home with a huge smile on his face and dreams of Max.

Cars Horse AU - Cars 2 horses and breeds - explaining my shizz
In another post of mine i explained what horse breeds the main characters from Cars (Lightning, Doc, Mater, etc.) will be, so now lets move on to the 2nd movie.
Tbh i fw Cars 2. Is so fucking awesome, idc what anyone says and i have no idea what is up with the hate. Lemme tell something funny: have you seen the burning hate on Cars 2, how the whole internet bashes it? ALL of that combined is my hate for Cars 3. I hate Cars 3 so freaking much, my hate for it increases every time i think about it, but i'll review it later. For now lets move on to our horseified - Cars cast!
Finn McMissile
Finn is a white dapple perceron. In Cars 2's horse au, CHROME (the spy company Finn and Holly work for) is a conpany too, except its led by all kinds of animals, not just equine animals like horses and ponies. Finn works at CHROME too as a spy horse who has been sent after Professor Zundapp, because of his plan that has to do with a camera. Finn is a very well taken care of, professional and careful spy horse. He is equipped with similar weapons as in the movie (still trying to figure out his guns tho :'D)
Holly Shiftwell
Holly is a young Hannoverian mare that has been working at CHROME for a few weeks, with the goal to become a spy horse. She works with Finn throughout the AU - He supports her and kind of guides her trough the missions. Holly is ambitious, she's a fast runner and works mostly with technic.
Professor Zundapp
Professor Zundapp is a dark grey shetland and was long believed to be the leader of the lemons. He is originally from Germany.
Francesco Bernoulli
Francesco is an ambitious, competitive Maremmano horse who originates from Porto Corsa in Italy. He is a very competitive racehorse and teases McQueen most of the time during the World Grand Prix. His owners put a lot of pressure on him since he's very famous in Italy, and thus doesnt want to lose out of fear for being abandoned. Later Lightning and Francesco become friends. Francesco speaks with a heavily Italian accent and when he's very angry, he'll yell in just Italian.
Siddeley
Siddeley is a huge Belgian draft horse that works with Finn trough CHROME.
Miles Axlerod
Miles Axlerod has organized the world grand prix with his alternative idea of bitless tack. He is the head of the lemons in secret, and the owner of a busted hoof iron that Rod Redline managed to get a picture of that he give to Mater in the stables last minute.
Further things about the Cars 2 part of the au: the lemons.
The lemons are animals. How theyre broken down cars in the movie, in this AU they are animals from all kinds of species that have been abused, kicked out of herds or groups, thrown away, or they are just strays that seek revenge, but also want to ruin the lives of animals that in this AU do have a good life: the racehorses. How? Like this:
Allinol: Cars use alternative fuel, so the horses use alternative tack.
So i came up with this idea: there are 2 ways you can ride a horse: with a bit and without a bit. You can ride with a saddle and without a saddle too, on any horse. In this AU, bits and tack are the norm; Lightning has raced with bits all his life, Mater and the Radiator Springs horses are ridden in hackamores (bits) and western saddles. Well, Miles Axlerod came up with a 'better' way: a race where horses from all over race in bitless bridles and bareback pads instead of racing saddles and bitted bridles. The blowing up part i'm still thinking out, but i have thought out the part where "Mater is the bomb."
When he traveled back, Mater wore a saddle pad with bags for his stuff. When he gets captured with Finn and Holly, he is given a new saddle pad with a bomb hidden in it strapped around his back with a metal girth. When activated the bomb starts ticking time off, and when deactivated, the bomb will turn off and the girth will pop loose. The only thing i have to do is give it some colors cuz i have the idea >>
Hope you like it :)

Y/N quit her podcast WHAT?
Max!Y/N is quitting her podcast in the alternate universe, yes.
Definitely during the shitstorm around RB she had to take it off air because she couldn’t talk about it but she also couldn’t not talk about, and that would have been a wake up call for her. She had to put the podcast aside to really stand behind Max at that point which would have made her realise she is 100% Team Verstappen now. Not to mention that as Max’s girlfriend she’d have been getting a lot more of a “professional” attitude from some people than she used to.
After the drama with Mick, and then with RB she realised she can’t be as objective as she needs to be to be putting out content. Also, she’d have realised that going forward she wants to distance her career from her personal relationships.
So I definitely see her looking at moving up those future projects she always talked about. Maybe she’d get involved in working with Redline or Verstappen.com, or even thinking about representing F2 drivers. She definitely would be looking to do something that would connect her career less to F1.

Notable And Underrated Anime That Have Excellent English Dubs, In My Opinion - A List (With Some Extra Banter or Whatever)
The works of Shinichirō Watanabe, ranging from Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy, and Carole & Tuesday (so much so that they're better off disqualified from lists likes this, due to being way too obvious choices... moving on)
FLCL (heck, would even say the same to the otherwise derivative Progressive and Alternative)
The Read or Die OVA, alongside its sequel series R.O.D the TV (so good, that even the likes of Yomiko "The Paper" Readman changing accents actually doesn't feel as jarring as I thought it would be)
Azumanga Daioh (on a side note, Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga sounds a bit like Steven Universe's Amethyst and The Owl House's Vee Noceda; can't really say why)
Lucky Star (so, which part of the Choco cornets should we eat first?)
Nichijou ('nuff said)
K-On!/K-On!! (might sound a bit jarring if one also watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica on the English dub (a bit good, but nothing compared to the Rebellion movie and maybe the compilation films; case in point, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka, Tsumugi Kotobuki, and Azusa Nakano are Homura Akemi, Kyubey, -bloody- Hitomi Shizuki, and Madoka Kaname respectively)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan (kinda sucks that the two compilation movies don't have dubs; would have loved seeing the extra hamminess of the characters' English voices in those)
Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water - ADV (even if the occasional accents are inaccurate, the emotional delivery of the VAs is hard to deny, especially the vile Gargoyle's)
Kill la Kill (if one has witnessed it, then you know that they sure had a lot of fun playing the characters in this extremely fun gainaxy romp)
Toradora! (...basically the closest we get to seeing Madoka verbally beat down Kyubey in romance and stuff)
Ghost in the Shell, both the movie duology (1 and 2: Innocence) and Stand Alone Complex, including the Tachikomatic Days extras and the Solid State Society movie (so much so that the latter's DVDs are mostly set with the English dub on default, reportedly even in Japan)
REDLINE (can't speak enough for it so to describe its epicness)
Dead Leaves (you can actually watch it on YouTube... it might overwhelm you)
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (telling that it's way more raunchy than even the original Japanese)
Golden Boy (you know, at least the show didn't continue on, lest it might have gotten way too weirder like the manga it's adapted from)
Black Lagoon (so good, that it resulted with the Roberta's Blood Trail OVAs having the cast reprise their roles due to fan demand)
Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemy (so madcap, the former's titular character's VA broke her voice halfway through the show)
Honorable mentions:
Neon Genesis Evangelion - particularly the ADV dub, with Manga Entertainment's efforts on The End of Evangelion and the Director's Cut versions of Episodes 21-24 (it might be correctly deemed as flawed, but nowadays, it sure has proven its worth, albeit at the cost of the Netflix dub being derided as lacking in emotion and perhaps also nuance)
The Manga Entertainment dubs for the Patlabor movie duology (a shame the OVA series preceding it doesn't share the same cast, while the Patlabor TV series dub... eludes me)
GaoGaiGar (flaw: it's unfinished, and thus never even reached the FINAL parts)
In the meantime, hopeful readers, feel free to put on personal recommendations, in case there'll be a second part, if not a commenter's edition.

thank you to the wonderful @fandomchaosposts for tagging me!! this looked like lots of fun and honesty a great excuse to talk about all the things I've been loving recently :)
last movie: love actually <333 one of my top 3 Christmas films makes me cry every year (also like hello how did they hire so many attractive people we have kiera Knightly, Hugh grant, Emma Thompson AND Colin firth??!?!)
last song: all you wanna do - from the Six soundtrack, I'm still so hyped after seeing it live and can't stop listening to the songs, also in a slightly worrying turn of events I do find this song quite relatable and lets not unpack that today
currently reading: The Persian Boy - Mary Renault (alternate retelling of the story of Alexander The Great's life from the perspective of his slave lover) and Redline by @chubbydino - as soon as I got kindle unlimited I got myself a copy and I have to say I'm having wayyyyyy too much fun reading it, it's reminiscent of fools gold but also so distinctly its own book!!
currently watching: I'm in the middle of hundreds of shows but I'd say I'm somewhat actively watching friends, criminal minds and a random cult documentary on Netflix I can't remember the name
currently consuming: nothing
Currently craving: coffee coffee coffee!! I just woke up so I'm in my natural pre coffee sleepy state
Anyways, I had lots of fun doing this! I'm going to tag a few people if they want to have a go but no pressure :) @love4lando @sof1shticated @bi-peanut @lil-italian-disappointment (and anyone else who feels like it!)

Once You See the Truth About Cars, You Can’t Unsee It https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/15/opinion/car-ownership-inequality.html
By Andrew Ross and Julie Livingston
Mr. Ross and Ms. Livingston are professors at New York University, members of its Prison Education Program Research Lab and authors of the book “Cars and Jails: Freedom Dreams, Debt, and Carcerality.”
In American consumer lore, the automobile has always been a “freedom machine” and liberty lies on the open road. “Americans are a race of independent people” whose “ancestors came to this country for the sake of freedom and adventure,” the National Automobile Chamber of Commerce’s soon-to-be-president, Roy Chapin, declared in 1924. “The automobile satisfies these instincts.” During the Cold War, vehicles with baroque tail fins and oodles of surplus chrome rolled off the assembly line, with Native American names like Pontiac, Apache, Dakota, Cherokee, Thunderbird and Winnebago — the ultimate expressions of capitalist triumph and Manifest Destiny.
But for many low-income and minority Americans, automobiles have been turbo-boosted engines of inequality, immobilizing their owners with debt, increasing their exposure to hostile law enforcement, and in general accelerating the forces that drive apart haves and have-nots.
Though progressive in intent, the Biden administration’s signature legislative achievements on infrastructure and climate change will further entrench the nation’s staunch commitment to car production, ownership and use. The recent Inflation Reduction Act offers subsidies for many kinds of vehicles using alternative fuel, and should result in real reductions in emissions, but it includes essentially no direct incentives for public transit — by far the most effective means of decarbonizing transport. And without comprehensive policy efforts to eliminate discriminatory policing and predatory lending, merely shifting to electric from combustion will do nothing to reduce car owners’ ever-growing risk of falling into legal and financial jeopardy, especially those who are poor or Black.
By the 1940s, African American car owners had more reason than anyone to see their vehicles as freedom machines, as a means to escape, however temporarily, redlined urban ghettos in the North or segregated towns in the South. But their progress on roads outside of the metro core was regularly obstructed by the police, threatened by vigilante assaults, and stymied by owners of whites-only restaurants, lodgings and gas stations. Courts granted the police vast discretionary authority to stop and search for any one of hundreds of code violations — powers that they did not apply evenly. Today, officers make more than 50,000 traffic stops a day. Driving while Black has become a major route to incarceration — or much worse. When Daunte Wright was killed by a police officer in April 2021, he had been pulled over for an expired registration tag on his car’s license plate. He joined the long list of Black drivers whose violent and premature deaths at the hands of police were set in motion by a minor traffic infraction — Sandra Bland (failure to use a turn signal), Maurice Gordon (alleged speeding), Samuel DuBose (missing front license plate) and Philando Castile and Walter Scott (broken taillights) among them. Despite widespread criticism of the flimsy pretexts used to justify traffic stops, and the increasing availability of cellphone or police body cam videos, the most recent data shows that the number of deaths from police-driver interactions is almost as high as it has been over the past five years.
In the consumer arena, cars have become tightly sprung debt traps. The average monthly auto loan payment crossed $700 for the first time this year, which does not include insurance or maintenance costs. Subprime lending and longer loan terms of up to 84 months have resulted in a doubling of auto loan debt over the last decade and a notable surge in the number of drivers who are “upside down”— owing more money than their cars are worth. But, again, the pain is not evenly distributed. Auto financing companies often charge nonwhite consumers higher interest rates than white consumers, as do insurers.
Formerly incarcerated buyers whose credit scores are depressed from inactivity are especially red meat to dealers and predatory lenders. In our research, we spoke to many such buyers who found it easier, upon release from prison, to acquire expensive cars than to secure an affordable apartment. Some, like LeMarcus, a Black Brooklynite (whose name has been changed to protect his privacy under ethical research guidelines), discovered that loans were readily available for a luxury vehicle but not for the more practical car he wanted. Even with friends and family willing to help him with a down payment, after he spent roughly five years in prison, his credit score made it impossible to get a Honda or “a regular car.” Instead, relying on a friend to co-sign a loan, he was offered a high-interest loan on a pre-owned Mercedes E350. LeMarcus knew it was a bad deal, but the dealer told him the bank that would have financed a Honda “wanted a more solid foundation, good credit, income was showing more,” but that to finance the Mercedes, it “was actually willing to work with the people with lower credit and lower down payments.” We interviewed many other formerly incarcerated people who followed a similar path, only to see their cars repossessed.
Did you know you can share 10 gift articles a month, even with nonsubscribers?

LeMarcus was “car rich, cash poor,” a common and precarious condition that can have serious legal consequences for low-income drivers, as can something as simple as a speeding ticket. A $200 ticket is a meaningless deterrent to a hedge fund manager from Greenwich, Conn., who is pulled over on the way to the golf club, but it could be a devastating blow to those who mow the fairways at the same club. If they cannot pay promptly, they will face cascading penalties. If they cannot take a day off work to appear in court, they risk a bench warrant or loss of their license for debt delinquency. Judges in local courts routinely skirt the law of the land (in Supreme Court decisions like Bearden v. Georgia and Timbs v. Indiana) by disregarding the offender’s ability to pay traffic debt. At the request of collection agencies, they also issue arrest or contempt warrants for failure to appear in court on unpaid auto loan debts. With few other options to travel to work, millions of Americans make the choice to continue driving even without a license, which means their next traffic stop may land them in jail.
The pathway that leads from a simple traffic fine to financial insolvency or detention is increasingly crowded because of the spread of revenue policing intended to generate income from traffic tickets, court fees and asset forfeiture. Fiscally squeezed by austerity policies, officials extract the funds from those least able to pay. This is not only an awful way to fund governments; it is also a form of backdoor, regressive taxation that circumvents voters’ input.
Deadly traffic stops, racially biased predatory lending and revenue policing have all come under public scrutiny of late, but typically they are viewed as distinct realms of injustice, rather than as the interlocking systems that they are. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it: A traffic stop can result in fines or arrest; time behind bars can result in repossession or a low credit score; a low score results in more debt and less ability to pay fines, fees and surcharges. Championed as a kind of liberation, car ownership — all but mandatory in most parts of the country — has for many become a vehicle of capture and control.
Industry boosters promise us that technological advances like on-demand transport, self-driving electric vehicles and artificial intelligence-powered traffic cameras will smooth out the human errors that lead to discrimination, and that car-sharing will reduce the runaway costs of ownership. But no combination of apps and cloud-based solutions can ensure that the dealerships, local municipalities, courts and prison industries will be willing to give up the steady income they derive from shaking down motorists.
Aside from the profound need for accessible public transportation, what could help? Withdraw armed police officers from traffic duties, just as they have been from parking and tollbooth enforcement in many jurisdictions. Introduce income-graduated traffic fines. Regulate auto lending with strict interest caps and steep penalties for concealing fees and add-ons and for other well-known dealership scams. Crack down hard on the widespread use of revenue policing. And close the back door to debtors’ prisons by ending the use of arrest warrants in debt collection cases. Without determined public action along these lines, technological advances often end up reproducing deeply rooted prejudices. As Malcolm X wisely said, “Racism is like a Cadillac; they bring out a new model every year.”
Andrew Ross and Julie Livingston are professors at New York University, members of its Prison Education Program Research Lab and authors of the book “Cars and Jails: Freedom Dreams, Debt, and Carcerality.”

By the way, I feel like I should specify that this poll is specifically for original fan iterations, and not alternate universes (AUs) or fanfics of existing tmnt franchises, such as rottmnt.
Some examples of original iterations include Redline or teenage mutant neglected turtles. AUs and fanfics include like father like son or bloodbath au.
I hope this helps :) /gen

not 100% sure if you were the one who introduced me to Mint Jams by Casiopea a while back but i listened to it in full for the first time this morning and it has absolutely made my day. like i'm talking "given me the motivation to clean the kitchen from top to bottom for the first time in a month". i've been alternating some of their other albums between Lazerhawk (another good band, very different vibes but it makes for a good contrast, a friend recommended Redline to start out with and i co-sign that recommendation) but ye i'm p sure i have you to thank for finding Mint Jams (albeit a bit late) so thanks!!
it very much could have been me who introduced you to it because it's fuckin awesome but y'know, just like you I heard of it and how good it was LONG before I actually listened to it and then when i finally did. which leads me to believe Mint Jams enters your life exactly when you need it. and it was your turn.
here's a bonus version of Asayake (VS The Square) that another friend introduced me to. don't remember who. was it boo? (boo was it you?) anyway it FUCKS because it adds The Square's instrumentals and they're so good
youtube
anyway I'm addin Redline to my collection right now to give it a spin when I get a chance. rock on!

I don't like seeing this kind of post cause like, the alternative is also continuing a genocide plus project 2025. Voting is not professing undying support to a candidate. In this case, it's a fucked up decision, but harm reduction is the only way.
Not voting isn't voting for Secret Third Party That Will Magically Save Gaza it's holding the door for Trump.
If you want to support an end to the Gaza genocide, donate what you can to the fundraisers and continue putting pressure on the government and corporations to end aid for Israel.
Unfortunately, in this two party system, neither choice leads to a better situation for Gaza. That means the election is about this country.
If you have a redline for this kind of thing, that's understandable but not an excuse not to do the bare minimum. Even if you live in a state that's 100% going to be red anyway, vote Green to try and push that party to 5%. Voting isn't something you can boycott, it's a civic duty, and Trump is counting on people like you neglecting it.
Besides, all the work needed to actually stop aid to Israel will undoubtedly be easier under Harris than Trump.
How does not voting help queer people? Genuine question.
maybe if you rephrase the same ask a 50th time i'll find genocide as normal and acceptable as you
