Apologies but I still don't like Mary Linton. She's so messy. I feel like she keeps drawing Arthur in only to push him away and remind him of how he's forever a "bad man". It's wishy-washy behavior. I don't think she's a conniving woman. Maybe annoyingly lovesick. She pities herself for loving Arthur. And that would be fine if she kept that shit to herself.

I'm obviously biased, but Arthur is filled with so much self-loathing and tragedy that it irritated me that Mary couldn't do the proper thing and leave him alone. There was a time Arthur found peace in her and being constantly reminded that those days are dead and gone can't be good for the man's mental health. I hated watching his body language whenever she was around or when Tilly gave him that letter. Sure it's his fault for answering her call but it's also in her best interest to leave the man be.

I imagine if they got back together,one slip up, one bar fight,one run-in with a rival gang and Mary would bemoan how Arthur never truly changed and her father was right all along. It would be a stupid cycle with these two. But I suppose a lot of people can relate to their broken relationship.

To me, Charlotte is the better option. Honorable and a survivor. I imagine she would be initially shocked by Arthur's past but I think she would empathize too. He was trying to survive and, in the end, wanted to become a better person. And all she's seen of him is "the kind man who saved me from starvation." They'd make a great couple. (I mean did you see that shooting scene? Adorable.) Maybe Arthur can be a father again too. I wanna watch Mini Arthur Dead-Eye a squirrel for the first time. That would be so cute!

Anyways I want this fictional man to be real,in good health, and happy.
