fic ask game, 11! what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?

I don't generally do much special research when writing fics since I mostly do oneshots. Usually ut will be setting specific / canon lore etc BUT the most interesting thing I have researched is era accurate sex toys for a HOTD fic 🤣🤣 I learned how far back sex toys go and what the olde timey folks used, very interesting stuff!

i had a dream where discord servers had like serial numbers displayed at the top of the page and people started buying/selling/trading servers between each other to get specific number combinations. and there was a whole trend of people trying to get servers whose serial numbers would match their credit card numbers and i dont know where this dream was going, but im scared of how realistic it seemed

I have heard both good and bad opinions about what she intended with the storyline and I really wanna know more about what she wanted for and from it

it's not just about her nightwing run but i think its a fascinating read! but the short version is that she kept getting forcibly cut off at some very important moments storyline wise.

Their heritage doesn't affect everyone in the family the same way.

Draco is lucky. He can more or less control his transformation, can let it come and go in stages, even isolate traits he wants to bring out while suppressing others.

Not everyone is that lucky.

"You've got to stop doing this," he tells Luna, hitching her up higher over his shoulder as her tail flops against his chest.

"My shoes!" she cries, squirming in her his grip, as if carrying a mermaid through the halls of Hogwarts without getting caught isn't hard enough already.

He's tempted to just drop her. "I don't care about your shoes! It serves you right. Stop transforming outside of the lake!"

Switching back and forth will hopefully get easier as she gets older, but for right now it's really annoying for him personally.

If she hadn't been so stubborn about getting sorted into Ravenclaw instead of Slytherin like the rest of their family, they wouldn't have this problem. The Slytherin dorms have lake access for a reason.
